Definitions

  • the present invention belongs to the field of lifting devices, more precisely to the field of frames and mechanisms for lifting vehicles and other heavier objects or persons.
  • the present invention relates to a relief lift for vehicles.
  • Vehicles particularly heavy vehicles, tend to lower during long-term parking due to their weight.
  • the tires are flattened, which is noticeable in the beginning of driving. Further, this may also represent a danger for accidents, as the tires are not in their optimal condition.
  • the technical problem is therefore a constructional design of a lifting platform for vehicles, which will allow lifting of the vehicle in order to prevent tire deformation during long-term parking.
  • Lifts for vehicles intended for parking garages such as described in patent are well known, but their constructions differ from the present invention.
  • Lifts for vehicle repair are also designed in a different manner.
  • Document DE3529069 discloses separated parallel sleds on which a vehicle can drive. The sleds my be lifted using a scissor mechanism installed in the sleds.
  • Utility model DE102004009092 describes a similar solution, however, the sleds are interconnected.
  • the solution described in utility model DE102010027889 has sleds connected in their bottom part.
  • the latter document uses a double scissor mechanism for lifting sleds, which differs from the present invention.
  • Patent RS96104 discloses a different solution for a car lift. These constructions do not enable lifting of the vehicle into a position in which the tires were suspended in air, as the vehicle stands on said sleds on its tires.
  • Patent DE3943425 discloses a car lift has two tracks, each supported by two crossed links with a central pivot pin.
  • a double-acting hydraulic cylinder acts as the main drive raise the crossed links.
  • this document describes a lift with two tracks that are raised with a parallelogram mechanism.
  • Two support rods are mounted in the floor, one of them being equipped with a hydraulic cylinder for lifting, while the other is raised automatically due to the movement of the first rod. Both rods are connected with a rail, thus forming a parallelogram. The latter differs from the present invention.
  • the aim of the invention is to address the disadvantages of the above-described solutions and consequently to provide a solution for a relief lift for lifting vehicles, which will not be in use for longer periods of time.
  • the essence of the relief lift for lifting vehicles according to the invention is in that the lift comprises:
  • each connecting handle is provided in a pair, i.e., at each end of each first transverse rod for connection to the inner rail, a pair of handles is provided for improved stability and reliability of the lift.
  • Inner rails may be made as a single piece or as multi-piece elements, wherein in case of the latter contacts or mountings, respectively, are made in any suitable manner.
  • Multi-part inner rails may have individual parts of different shapes or made from different materials, which depends on the part of the vehicle to be supported.
  • the hydraulic cylinder is preferably mounted on the said second transverse rod, so that upon extension of the piston of the hydraulic cylinder the second transverse rod is lifted and thereby also the inner rails. All parts of the lifting assembly have to move synchronously in order to prevent tilting of the vehicle during lifting.
  • the connecting handles are perpendicular to the first transverse rods, while in the initial position the connecting handles are parallel to the rails of the base construction as well as the inner rails. With optional screws the height of connecting handles may be defined.
  • the position of inner rails may be fixed at any other angle of the connecting handles to the first transverse rods, which is controlled with control of the hydraulic cylinder. Initiation of the operation of the relief lift according to the invention begins with starting of the drive, which in turn controls the valve which affects the state of the hydraulic cylinder and thus the position of the lifting assembly.
  • the drive of the relief lift is preferably achieved via a hydraulic pump or an aggregate, however, it may also be an electromotor or any other suitable drive known to the skilled person.
  • movement of the inner rails may be achieved with an actuator and an electromotor, with a threaded spindle or similar elements, however, these embodiments are not as efficient and reliable as the embodiment with hydraulics.
  • the relief lift may optionally comprise further components, such as optional electronics for control of hydraulic valves of the hydraulic cylinders and/or a controller with a preferred display for selecting the position or the height of the inner rails of the lift.
  • the relief lift may be provided with a safety mechanism, preferably a mechanic safety mechanism. In case the hydraulics malfunction, the safety mechanism is activated and thus prevents the vehicle from falling.
  • the dimensions of the relief lift are arbitrary and adjusted with regards to the size of the vehicle to be lifted for longer periods of time.
  • the length of connecting handles is arbitrary to allow adjustment of the height of lifted inner rails depending on the size of vehicle tires.
  • the width of the rails of the base construction and the inner rails may be adjusted to the size of the vehicle, which may be a car, a motorhome (camper), a truck or any other road vehicle. Based on the length of the vehicle the length of rails as well as the number and shape of parts of the inner rails may be adjusted.
  • the lift according to the invention supports the vehicle under all axles of the vehicle, in order to prevent any movement or instabilities.
  • the relief lift according to the invention thus has at least two positions, namely:
  • the lift according to the invention is used in the following manner: the vehicle to be parked is driven above the construction, then by turning on the drive operation of the valve and thus the hydraulic cylinder is initiated, which in turn raises the lifting assembly. Once the desired position is reached, the vehicle is lifted for a height that ensures tires of the vehicle are suspended in air. In this manner, tire deformation is prevented.
  • Figure 1 shows a construction of the relief lift for lifting vehicles according to a possible embodiment in a raised (lifted) position without the vehicle.
  • the lift comprises:
  • Inner rails 6 comprise multiple parts 6a, 6b, 6c, as shown in the side view of the lift shown in figures 2 a and 2b, wherein the contacts or the mountings 9 between parts 6a, 6b, 6c are achieved in any suitable manner.
  • the cross-section of the parts 6a and 6c are arranged for receiving vehicle axles, i.e., in the shape of recumbent letter H as shown in figures 3a and 3b .
  • These two figures also show a detail of connecting handles 8, as on each end of the first transverse rod 5 for connection to the inner rail 6 a double pair of handles 8 is provided for improved stability and reliability. Mounting of the handles 8 on the rail is according to the shown embodiment done with screws, however, any other suitable element could be used.
  • the connecting handle 8 has in its bottom part a suitable cut-out, into which the transverse rod 5 can be installed. This connection may also be designed in any other manner, as long as it enables rotation of handles 8 around the transverse rod 5.
  • the hydraulic cylinder 3 is connected to the said second transverse rod 7, so that upon extension of the piston of the hydraulic cylinder 3 the rod 7 is lifted, thus lifting the inner rails 6 as shown in figure 3b .
  • the connecting handles are perpendicular to the first transverse rods, while in the initial position the connecting handles are parallel to the rails 1of the base construction as well as the inner rails 6 or the angle between the handles 8 and the surface or inner rails 6 is an acute angle, preferably smaller than 45 degrees. Said angle may be such that the height of the inner rails is still low enough to allow the vehicle to be driven above the relief lift without engaging of the inner rails with the vehicle chassis or any other part of the vehicle.
  • the position of inner rails may be fixed at any other angle of the connecting handles 8 to the first transverse rods 5, as shown in figures 2 and 3 , which is controlled with control of the hydraulic cylinder 3.
  • Initiation of the operation of the relief lift according to the invention begins with starting of the drive, which in turn controls the valve which affects the state of the hydraulic cylinder and thus the position of the lifting assembly.
  • Figures 4 and 5 show the relief lift in use with a vehicle, wherein the vehicle is driven above the relief lift, preferably the front axis is above part 6c of the inner rail 6, while the rear axles are above part 6a of the inner rail 6.
  • the height of inners rails is low, so that the axles are not in contact with parts 6a and 6c, the tires of the vehicle thus being on the ground, as shown in figure 4b .
  • figure 5 shows that when the inner rails 6 are lifted with the connecting handles 8, parts 6a and 6c of the inner rails 6 are in contact with vehicle axles, which causes lifting of the tires indicated with the arrow in figure 5b .
