Description

The invention relates to a closure cap made of plastic for the pouring spout of a container with wings which protrude in particular radially from the outer surface of the cap and are fastened to the cap on diametrically opposite sides, wherein each wing passes from the fastening area close to the cap into an actuating area further outwards which serves for manual actuation.

WO 2007/002292 and WO 2015/114084 A1 describe a closure cap on which two wings protrude radially on diametrically opposite sides of the cap as gripping surfaces. In the case of a stiff thread, a jammed hold or to break a tamper-evident seal, such a high torque must often be applied to the closure cap by hand that the gripping surfaces can become bent or broken off.

The object of the invention according to claim 1 is to improve a closure cap of the type mentioned at the outset so that it has a high level of strength and rigidity with a simple construction. The closure cap should offer a good grip and a pleasant feeling when gripping.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the fastening areas of both wings are arranged on both sides of a central plane running through the cap rotation axis in a rotationally symmetrical manner to the cap rotation axis.

Such a lateral arrangement of the fastening areas to the central plane creates a high level of strength for the wings on the closure cap, so that high torques can be applied to the closure cap by hand via the wings without significantly deforming or breaking the wings. It also offers comfortable handling.

These advantages are further improved if the fastening region of each wing, when viewed at the outer surface of the cap perpendicular to the cap rotation axis, transitions from a concave bending region further away from the cap to a convex bending region closer to the cap, wherein the convex bending region conforms to the convex outer surface of the cap and/or transitions continuously into the convex outer surface of the cap.

The strength of the wings on the closure cap is increased even further if at least one strut or tongue protrudes from the outer surface of the cap, the outer end of which is molded onto the outer surface of the wing. It is proposed that the strut or tongue be designed as a hollow shape, the cavity of which opens towards the back of the wing. Such a hollow shape reduces the weight and material required for the closure cap and offers a pleasant grip as a finger recess. It is also proposed that the rib, strut or tongue be limited in their design to the concave wing attachment area or extend beyond it into the vertical operating area.

The following are suggested as possible designs for the two operating areas of the wings:
  • that they lie in a central plane in which the cap rotation axis lies,
  • that they are curved in such a way that a cross-section through the operating area forms a curvature transverse to its longitudinal extension,
  • that they are curved in their longitudinal extension,
  • that they are arranged parallel and at a lateral distance from the central plane.

It is further proposed that the closure cap is attached to a pouring spout of a container via a thread and that the closure cap is connected to the pouring spout of a container via a tamper-evident device.

The closure cap 1 according to the invention is made of plastic by injection molding with a cylindrical shell that surrounds an interior that is closed at the top so that the closure cap can be screwed with its internal thread onto the external thread of a pouring spout of a container. There is an authenticity lock 11 between the lower end of the closure cap 1 and the closure cap seat of the pouring spout, which breaks open when the closure cap 1 is screwed on for the first time and thereby indicates whether the closure has already been opened.

In the execution according to Fig.3 A boat-shaped welded part 12 is formed on the lower end of the pouring spout, which is welded between the two side walls of a bag-shaped container.

On the outer surface 10 of the closure cap 1, two integrally formed wings 2 protrude radially on diametrically opposite sides of the cap, which in the design according to Fig. 1 and 2 lie in a vertical plane 5 in which the vertical axis of rotation 6 of the cap 1 also lies. The two wings protrude so far on both sides that the closure cap 1 has such a considerable overall width that it cannot be swallowed by a child.

Each of the two wings 2 is formed with a wing fastening area 3 on the convex outer surface 10 of the cap, wherein the fastening area 3 of each wing, when viewing the outer surface 10 of the cap perpendicular to the cap rotation axis 6, transitions from a concave bending area a further away from the cap into a convex bending area b closer to the cap, wherein the convex bending area b clings to the convex outer surface 10 of the cap 1 and/or continuously transitions into the convex outer surface 10 of the cap. The fastening area 3 can thus be described as S-shaped in a view from above with its two bending areas a and b.

On the outside of both wings 2, the fastening area 10 is adjoined by a particularly radial, flat, vertical actuation area 4, which in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 and 2 in the vertical plane 5. The operating area 4 can also be offset parallel to the plane 5 and can also be curved or arched in its transverse direction and/or in its longitudinal extension. Two types of curvature in the transverse direction are possible in the design according to Fig. 4 and 5 shown with S1 and S2.

The rib, strut or tongue 7 may be limited in their design to the concave wing attachment area 3 or may also be extend into the vertical operating area 4. Rib, strut or tongue 7 can also be combined in their embodiments.

In order to increase the strength and rigidity of the attachment of the two wings 2 to the cap 1, at least one strut, tongue or rib 7 protrudes from the outer surface 10 of the cap, which extends outwards and whose outer end 8 is formed on the outer surface of a wing. This strut, tongue or rib 7 bridges the gap or gusset 13 that exists between the attachment area 3 and the outer surface 10 of the casing.

In the execution according to Fig.3 the strut or tongue 7 is designed as a hollow shape, the cavity 9 of which opens towards the rear of the wing 2. Furthermore, each of the two wings can be attached to the outer surface 10 of the cap by two or more struts, tongues or ribs.
