Claims (5)

  1. - A device (1) for extracting a large caliber projectile (10) stuck in a tube (20) of an artillery piece (100), the device (1) comprising an unblocking mass (2) having a diameter smaller than the caliber of the tube (20) and intended to be introduced into the tube (20) at the mouth of the latter and then to be released in the tube (20) to impact the blocked projectile (10) by inertia, wherein the mass (2) is secured to one end of a rope (3), wherein the device is characterised in that it comprises a release means (4) able to be secured to the mouth of the tube (20), the release means (4) comprising a blocking and unblocking means (6) which, in a blocking position, blocks the rope (3) near the end of the rope (3) secured to the mass (2) so as to retain the mass (2) in the vicinity of the mouth of the tube (20), and which, in an unblocking position, allows release of the rope (3).
  2. - The extraction device (1) according to claim 1, characterised in that the blocking and unblocking means (6) includes at least one jaw (6) which wedges the rope (3) against a wall of the bore (4a) owing to an elastic return means (11) which tends to place the jaw (6) in the blocking position by default.
  3. - The extraction device (1) according to claim 2, characterised in that the jaw (6) is a pivotally mounted jaw.
  4. - The extraction device (1) according to one of claims 2 to 3, characterised in that the jaw (6) comprises at least one non-return device (8), such as a toothing, allowing the rope (3) to slide in the direction allowing the mass (2) and the release means (4) to come closer together when the rope (3) is pulled and conversely hooks the rope (3) by driving the jaw (6) in the blocking direction when the rope (3) goes in the direction tending to move the mass (2) away from the release means (4).
  5. - The extraction device (1) according to one of claims 2 to 4, characterised in that the release means (4) comprises a jack (7) capable of causing the jaw (6) to pivot between the blocking and unblocking positions.
