Claims (10)

  1. A lining assembly (10) for the body of a vehicle, in particular a railway vehicle, comprising:
    - a metal wall (12) comprising an outer surface,
    - an outer panel (14) attached to the outer surface of the metal wall,
    - an interface for securing the outer panel (14) to the outer surface of the metal wall (12), the securing interface comprising an aluminium securing bracket (16) extending from the outer surface of the metal wall (12), an aluminium spacer (18) extending through the outer panel (14) and applied to the securing bracket (16), and a fastener (20) securing the spacer (18) to the securing bracket (16), said spacer maintaining a gap between the outer panel (14) and the mounting bracket (16).
  2. A lining assembly (10) according to claim 1, wherein the fixing support (16) is in the form of a bridge comprising a fixing surface (22), in contact with the spacer (18), and legs (24) extending on either side of the fixing surface (22), said support (16) being fixed to the external surface of the metal wall (12) by its legs (24).
  3. A lining assembly (10) according to claim 1 or claim 2, in which the fixing support (16) is fixed to the outer surface of the metal wall (12) by welding or bonding, preferably by welding.
  4. A lining assembly (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the fixing element (20) comprises a screw (28) and a nut (30) in addition to said screw (28).
  5. A lining assembly (10) according to claim 4, in which the nut (30) is integral with the fixing support (16), preferably is fixed at the fixing surface (22) of the support (16).
  6. A lining assembly (10) according to any one of claims 4 and 5, in which the screw (28), and optionally the nut (30), are made of steel, preferably steel coated with a layer of a zinc- and nickel-based alloy.
  7. A lining assembly (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, further comprising at least one washer (38A, 38B) placed between a head (32) of the fixing element (20) and the spacer (18), the said washer preferably being made of steel, more preferably of steel coated with a layer of a zinc- and nickel-based alloy.
  8. A lining assembly (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the outer panel (14) is aluminium.
  9. A lining assembly (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, in which the metal wall (12) is a roof wall of a vehicle, in particular a railway vehicle.
  10. A method of fixing an outer panel (14) to the surface of a metal wall (12) of a vehicle body, in particular a railway body, the method comprising the following steps:
    a) fixing of an aluminium fixing support (16) projecting from the outer surface of said metal wall (12), preferably by welding or gluing,
    b) inserting an aluminium spacer (18) through the outer panel (14), said spacer (18) being applied to the mounting bracket (16) and maintaining a gap between said mounting bracket (16) and said outer panel (14), and
    c) fixing the spacer (18) to the mounting bracket (16).
