Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for feeding items of laundry to a laundry treatment device, preferably a mangle, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the invention further relates to a device for feeding items of laundry to a laundry treatment device, preferably a mangle, according to the preamble of claim 8.
  • laundry treatment facilities such as mangles
  • input machines devices that are referred to in technical jargon as “input machines.”
  • the laundry items are fed to the laundry treatment devices in the feed direction.
  • the transverse edges of the laundry items run transversely to the feed direction and the longitudinal edges run in the feed direction.
  • a stripping means is firmly provided in front of the beginning of the at least lower belt conveyor of the respective loading station.
  • the part of the laundry item that is still in front of the belt conveyor is stripped laterally, so that the laundry item slides over the stripping means when it is pulled onto the loading conveyor and thereby hangs over the loading conveyor in a U-shaped configuration with longitudinal strips lying on the lower belt conveyor.
  • the stripping means generates a large retaining force, especially with heavy and/or large items of laundry, whereby after placing a front part of the longitudinal strip of the item of laundry on a front deposit area of the lower belt conveyor, the frictional force between the part located on the deposit area of the longitudinal strip and the belt conveyor is not sufficient. The item of laundry then cannot be pulled onto the belt conveyor and in some cases even slips off the belt conveyor against the feed direction. The result is operational disruptions.
  • the invention is based on the object of creating a method and a device for feeding items of laundry to a laundry treatment device, in particular a mangle, which ensure reliable loading of items of laundry onto a lower belt conveyor of the respective loading station.
  • the method also provides for the stripping means of the respective loading station to be pivoted from an active position to an inactive position and vice versa. By pivoting in this way, the respective stripping means can be transferred particularly easily from the active to an inactive position (and vice versa).
  • the stripping means can assume an inactive position that deviates significantly from the active position.
  • the respective item of laundry is placed and/or deposited onto a depositing area at the beginning of the lower belt conveyor, preferably an upper run, with the stripping means in the inactive position. If the upper strand of the same is now moved further in the feed direction by the driven belt conveyor, the front part of the longitudinal strip of the item of laundry, which previously only rested on the placement area, is reliably taken along in a friction-locking manner and the item of laundry is thereby pulled further onto the lower belt conveyor because the stripping means is still inactive at this point in time does not exert any frictional force on the item of laundry that acts against the feed direction.
  • the method can advantageously be further developed in such a way that a beginning of the longitudinal strip starting from a front transverse edge running transversely to the feed direction, with the stripping means still in the inactive position, the respective item of laundry is placed or placed on the placement area of the belt conveyor.
  • the respective item of laundry with the beginning of the longitudinal strip initially only comes into contact with the lower belt conveyor, namely its placement area. Then the front part of the longitudinal strip of the laundry item has a relatively low frictional connection to the part of the upper run of the lower belt conveyor that is in the lay-on area.
  • This frictional connection is sufficient to initially pull the item of laundry onto the lower belt conveyor, uninfluenced by the stripping means that is in the inactive position, until the frictional connection to the upper run of the lower belt conveyor is increased to such an extent that the stripping means can be brought into its active position without the risk that the item of laundry will slide down from the lower belt conveyor in the opposite direction to the feed direction or that the item of laundry will not be pulled further onto the lower belt conveyor.
  • the stripping means can be pivoted into the inactive position to such an extent that the part of the laundry item that is still in front of the lower belt conveyor does not touch at least the upper edge and/or the upper sliding surface of the stripping means, preferably does not touch the entire stripping means. This ensures that after the front part of the longitudinal strip of the item of laundry has been placed on the storage area of the lower belt conveyor, the item of laundry does not slip off again and can initially be pulled onto the belt conveyor.
  • each loading station not only has a lower belt conveyor, the front area of the upper run of which forms the deposit area for the item of laundry to be fed, but also a second, upper belt conveyor.
  • the second upper belt conveyor is assigned to the first lower belt conveyor in such a way that it only partially overlaps it, in that the upper run of the lower belt conveyor and a lower run of the upper belt conveyor are directed towards each other, preferably lying on top of each other like a sandwich and can also touch each other when between the two belt conveyors There is currently no item of laundry.
  • the upper belt conveyor is preferably designed to be shorter than the lower belt conveyor, with the beginning of the upper belt conveyor being set back in the feed direction relative to the beginning of the lower belt conveyor, preferably to such an extent that the upper belt conveyor leaves the storage area of the item of laundry free on the upper run of the lower belt conveyor .
  • a front part of the longitudinal strip of the item of laundry can be placed on the storage area of the lower belt conveyor without the upper belt conveyor interferes.
  • the respective stripping means can be brought from an inactive position to an active position and vice versa.
  • the stripping means does not influence and/or impair the initial loading of the item of laundry onto the lower belt conveyor of the respective loading station.
  • the stripping means exerts a plow-like effect on the lower part, preferably the middle part, of the item of laundry, which is still in front of the storage area of the lower belt conveyor.
  • the stripping means can be brought into the active position in front of the support area of the lower belt conveyor by pivoting up, while it can be brought into the inactive position by pivoting down, in which it assumes a rest position under the front part of the lower belt conveyor.
  • the respective stripping means can be pivotably arranged at an initial end or end region of the lower belt conveyor of the respective loading station, viewed in the feed direction.
  • the respective stripping means can be pivoted by at least one drive, for example a pneumatic cylinder.
  • the stripping means can be swiveled down into the inactive position in order to get out of the catchment area of the item of laundry.
  • To transfer the stripping means into the active position it is swiveled up so that the item of laundry rests on it or can be pulled over it when it is pulled onto the lower belt conveyor and at least the part of the item of laundry that is still in front of the lower belt conveyor is stripped out.
  • the at least one stripping means is pivoted up into the active position and pivoted down into the inactive position by pivoting over a pivot angle of 70° to 110°.
  • the pivot angle is preferably approximately 90°, although it can be up to 10° larger or smaller.
  • the or each stripping means is designed like a bow or shoe.
  • the respective stripping means is movably mounted with its parallel legs on opposite sides of a stationary support frame of the respective lower belt conveyor, in particular pivotally mounted.
  • Such a stripping means can be designed to be simple and can be easily moved from the active to the inactive position.
  • the respective stripping means can be designed in various ways, preferably it has a large U-shaped, omega-like or horseshoe-like shape. In the simplest case, such a stripping means can be formed from a curved metal strip. Due to the aforementioned design, the stripping means contributes to the effective stripping out of the part of the laundry item that is still in front of the lower belt conveyor, in particular transversely to the feed direction. The effective spreading of the item of laundry is preferably also supported by the fact that that part of the item of laundry that is currently in the area of the stripping means that is in the active position is on the upper edge of the bracket-like stripping means or the upper surface of the shoe-like stripping means supported and can slide along.
  • the lower belt conveyor has a width that is smaller than the width of the laundry items to be fed to the laundry treatment device. This width corresponds approximately to the width of the longitudinal strip of the respective item of laundry between two opposite longitudinal edges.
  • the outer free edge sections of the narrow lower belt conveyor adjoining the longitudinal strips on both sides can hang down on opposite sides from the upper run of the lower belt conveyor, so that the item of laundry can be pulled onto the lower belt conveyor in a U-shaped configuration and/or transported over the same.
  • the width of the lower belt conveyor is preferably many times smaller than the width of the laundry items.
  • the width of the lower belt conveyor is smaller than a tenth of the width of large items of laundry and/or smaller than a tenth of the working width of the respective laundry treatment device. This width then also corresponds to the width of the longitudinal strip of the laundry item supported on the upper run of the lower belt conveyor.
  • an upper belt conveyor is arranged above the lower belt conveyor, it preferably has the same width as the lower belt conveyor. If an upper belt conveyor is present, it is preferably designed to be shorter in that it is set back from the lower belt conveyor in the feed direction by at least the length of the placement area, so that the upper belt conveyor does not yet cover the placement area of the lower belt conveyor.
  • the device or input machine shown here has three loading stations 12, in particular of the same design.
  • the three loading stations 12 are arranged next to one another at the same distance from one another in a row running transversely to the feed direction 11 on the front of the device.
  • the middle loading station 12 is located in the three loading stations 12 shown here in the middle of the device or input machine.
  • the other two loading stations 12 are arranged off-center on opposite sides of the central loading station 12.
