Definitions
- the present invention relates more particularly to domestic vacuum cleaners of the sled type making it possible to vacuum up dust and waste present on a surface to be cleaned, which may for example be tiles, parquet, laminate, carpet or a rug.
- sled type vacuum cleaner reference is made to a vacuum cleaner that can move by rolling on the ground, for example using wheels or casters when the vacuum cleaner is in use.
- a suction nozzle is generally connected to a vacuum cleaner housing via an accessory comprising a suction tube which is rigid and a suction pipe which is flexible.
- the user of a canister vacuum cleaner holds the suction nozzle via a gripping handle attached to the suction tube.
- a vacuum cleaner housing of a canister vacuum cleaner is generally pulled by the user via the gripping handle and the suction pipe, this mode of movement is the origin of the name "canister vacuum cleaner".
- the term sled vacuum cleaner also covers vacuum cleaners with motorized wheels or casters capable of following the movements of the suction nozzle, the gripping handle or the user.
- the locking mechanism includes a lock movably mounted on the gripping handle between a locking position in which the lock is configured to cooperate with a locking member provided on the suction tube so as to lock the gripping handle in the first handle position, and a release position in which the lock is configured to release the locking element so as to allow pivoting of the gripping handle between the first and second handle positions.
- the locking mechanism further comprises an unlocking member which is configured to be actuated by a user and which is movably mounted on the gripping handle between a first position and a second position, the locking mechanism being configured such that a movement of the unlocking member from the first position to the second position causes a movement of the lock from the locking position to the release position and such that a movement of the unlocking member from the second position to the first position causes the lock to move from the release position to the lock position.
- an unlocking member which is configured to be actuated by a user and which is movably mounted on the gripping handle between a first position and a second position, the locking mechanism being configured such that a movement of the unlocking member from the first position to the second position causes a movement of the lock from the locking position to the release position and such that a movement of the unlocking member from the second position to the first position causes the lock to move from the release position to the lock position.
- the lock is formed by an internal cylindrical body slidably mounted in the gripping handle, and the locking element is formed by an abutment surface defined by a coupling element fixed to the suction tube.
- the locking mechanism does not ensure reliable locking of the gripping handle in the first handle position.
- the passage opening provided in the coupling element and through which extend the suction pipe and the cylindrical body internal has a high passage section, such that the locking of the gripping handle in the first handle position is ensured only by simple support of the internal cylindrical body against a portion of the internal peripheral surface of the opening of passage, and is therefore not stable.
- such a configuration of the locking mechanism requires oversizing the gripping handle so that it can accommodate the internal cylindrical body, which is likely to hinder good gripping of the gripping handle by a user.
- the coupling element extends around the connection zone between the suction tube and the suction pipe and that the articulation axis of the gripping handle is intersecting with the tube suction
- a movement of the gripping handle in the first handle position induces a significant torsion of the suction pipe, and therefore significant pressure losses within the suction pipe.
- the internal cylindrical body slidably mounted in the gripping handle has a diameter close to that of the gripping handle.
- This large diameter internal cylindrical body generates significant friction forces during its movement in the gripping handle, which requires the presence of a return spring capable of exerting a significant return force on the internal cylindrical body so as to be able to return the latter to its locking position. Consequently, the actuation force to be exerted by the user on an organ actuation to move the internal cylindrical body into the release position proves to be important and not very comfortable for the user.
- the document KR 2005 0047619 A also discloses an accessory for a sled type vacuum cleaner according to the characterizing part of claim one.
- the present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.
- the technical problem underlying the invention consists in particular of providing an accessory for a sled type vacuum cleaner which is simple and economical in structure, while ensuring reliable locking of the gripping handle in the first handle position.
- the lock more particularly comprises two lateral locking members arranged on either side of the unlocking member, the lateral locking members being slidably mounted in a direction of movement.
- Such a configuration of the lock makes it possible to ensure reliable locking of the gripping handle in the first handle position, and therefore to guarantee a stable position of the gripping handle when it occupies the first handle position. Furthermore, such a configuration of the lock does not require oversizing the gripping handle, which limits the mass and bulk of the gripping handle according to the present invention.

Description
The present invention relates more particularly to domestic vacuum cleaners of the sled type making it possible to vacuum up dust and waste present on a surface to be cleaned, which may for example be tiles, parquet, laminate, carpet or a rug.
In the present description, by sled type vacuum cleaner, reference is made to a vacuum cleaner that can move by rolling on the ground, for example using wheels or casters when the vacuum cleaner is in use. In a canister vacuum cleaner, a suction nozzle is generally connected to a vacuum cleaner housing via an accessory comprising a suction tube which is rigid and a suction pipe which is flexible. During a cleaning operation, the user of a canister vacuum cleaner holds the suction nozzle via a gripping handle attached to the suction tube. A vacuum cleaner housing of a canister vacuum cleaner is generally pulled by the user via the gripping handle and the suction pipe, this mode of movement is the origin of the name "canister vacuum cleaner". The term sled vacuum cleaner also covers vacuum cleaners with motorized wheels or casters capable of following the movements of the suction nozzle, the gripping handle or the user.
- a suction tube comprising a first end portion to which a floor cleaning element is intended to be attached, and a second end portion opposite the first end portion and intended to be fluidly connected to a nozzle suction provided on a vacuum cleaner housing,
- a gripping handle comprising a main handle portion which is elongated and which is mechanically connected to the suction tube, the gripping handle being hingedly mounted relative to the suction tube around a pivot axis and between a first position sleeve and a second sleeve position, and
- a locking mechanism configured to lock the grip handle in the first handle position.
The locking mechanism includes a lock movably mounted on the gripping handle between a locking position in which the lock is configured to cooperate with a locking member provided on the suction tube so as to lock the gripping handle in the first handle position, and a release position in which the lock is configured to release the locking element so as to allow pivoting of the gripping handle between the first and second handle positions.
The locking mechanism further comprises an unlocking member which is configured to be actuated by a user and which is movably mounted on the gripping handle between a first position and a second position, the locking mechanism being configured such that a movement of the unlocking member from the first position to the second position causes a movement of the lock from the locking position to the release position and such that a movement of the unlocking member from the second position to the first position causes the lock to move from the release position to the lock position.
Such a configuration of the locking mechanism does not ensure reliable locking of the gripping handle in the first handle position. Indeed, in order to allow insertion of the suction pipe into the coupling element, the passage opening provided in the coupling element and through which extend the suction pipe and the cylindrical body internal has a high passage section, such that the locking of the gripping handle in the first handle position is ensured only by simple support of the internal cylindrical body against a portion of the internal peripheral surface of the opening of passage, and is therefore not stable.
In addition, such a configuration of the locking mechanism requires oversizing the gripping handle so that it can accommodate the internal cylindrical body, which is likely to hinder good gripping of the gripping handle by a user.
Furthermore, given that the coupling element extends around the connection zone between the suction tube and the suction pipe and that the articulation axis of the gripping handle is intersecting with the tube suction, a movement of the gripping handle in the first handle position (that is to say in a position in which the internal cylindrical body is coaxial with the longitudinal axis of the suction tube) induces a significant torsion of the suction pipe, and therefore significant pressure losses within the suction pipe.
Furthermore, the internal cylindrical body slidably mounted in the gripping handle has a diameter close to that of the gripping handle. This large diameter internal cylindrical body generates significant friction forces during its movement in the gripping handle, which requires the presence of a return spring capable of exerting a significant return force on the internal cylindrical body so as to be able to return the latter to its locking position. Consequently, the actuation force to be exerted by the user on an organ actuation to move the internal cylindrical body into the release position proves to be important and not very comfortable for the user.
