Definitions

  • the invention relates to a folding device for a folding door, in particular a folding sliding door, and a piece of furniture with a folding door, in particular a folding sliding door, which is provided with a folding device.
  • Sliding doors are often used to close off openings in rooms or pieces of furniture, which are moved into a door compartment or into a parking space after the opening has been released, so as not to be a nuisance.
  • the US8336972B2 discloses a piece of furniture with a door compartment in which a displacement device is provided, by means of which the sliding door can be displaced within the door compartment.
  • the displacement device comprises a holding device in the form of a pair of scissors, by means of which a stop profile connected to the sliding door is held in a vertical orientation.
  • the displacement device also includes running rails, along which the stop profile is mounted in a displaceable manner by means of drives and can be pushed into the door compartment with practically no resistance.
  • the US9284761B2 discloses a piece of furniture with a displacement device by means of which a folding door can be displaced into a door compartment.
  • the folding door comprises two door elements, of which the first door element is connected at the front to a carriage that can be moved along a running rail that has two rail sections that are aligned perpendicular to one another and are connected to one another by a curved section, one of which is guided into the door compartment.
  • the second door panel is connected to the back with a stop profile, for example, according to the by a holding device US8336972B2 is held vertically.
  • the folding door is extended from the door compartment and unfolded. In the closed position, the door elements are aligned in a planar manner with respect to one another. In order to open the piece of furniture, the folding door is folded shut again, with the door elements assuming an angle not equal to 180° in an open position and being retracted into the door compartment, preferably aligned parallel to one another.
  • the JP2011162994A discloses a folding device which assists the unfolding of a folding door and is provided with a lever arm which is rotatably attached to a first door panel, is supported by a spring and is provided with a roller at an end piece which abuts the second door panel.
  • the DE202018100262U1 discloses a folding device which assists in the closing of a folding door and is provided with a lever arm which is rotatably attached to a first door panel, supported by a spring and guided with an end piece in a guide mounted on the second door panel.
  • the US2018119470A1 discloses another folding device which includes a pivoted lever arm and which assists in the folding of a folding door.
  • a hinge provided with a spring is also known, by means of which door elements which are connected to one another in an articulated manner are rotated either into the open position or into the closed position after a central position has been exceeded.
  • the hinge is elaborately designed and requires fitting elements that are to be mounted on the upper edges of the door elements.
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object of creating an improved folding device by means of which a folding door can be folded or guided into a closed position or into an open position. Furthermore, a piece of furniture is to be created with a folding door that is equipped with the folding device.
  • the folding device should be simple in construction and easy to assemble. Furthermore, the folding device should be compact with small dimensions and take up little space.
  • the folding device should be able to be modified with little effort, so that the folding device can bring the folding door either from the closed position into an open position or from an open position into the closed position.
  • the folding device should include a locking device which the planar aligned door elements in the holds closed position.
  • the locking of the door elements in the closed position should be canceled by pressing the door elements.

  • the door elements are to be released from the closed position in a simple manner and automatically moved as far as possible into an open position.
  • the folding device intended for a folding door in particular a folding sliding door, having a first and a second door element which are hinged to one another, comprises a first coupling wing which is connected to the first door element and a second coupling wing which is connected to the second door element is connected to a coupling shaft, through which the two coupling wings are articulated to each other, and with a mechanical energy store which acts on the two coupling wings.
  • the two coupling wings each have a first wing part, which is provided for connection to the associated door element, and a second wing part and a wing shaft, which articulately connects the first and second wing parts that correspond to one another, and that a bearing body is provided , which holds a bearing element for holding the coupling shaft and at least one bearing piston, which is surrounded by a helical spring that serves as an energy store, and which bearing body is articulated by the two coupling wings to a loading carriage, which has a bearing opening for receiving the at least one bearing piston and which is mounted in an axially displaceable manner on the at least one bearing piston.
  • the first door element of the folding door is connected by stop hinges, for example to a structural element such as a side wall or partition of the piece of furniture or to a stop profile that is held in a displaceable manner.
  • Two bearing pistons aligned parallel to one another are preferably held displaceably by the bearing body and give the folding device increased stability.
  • Bearing bushes are preferably held in the bearing openings of the loading carriage, which ensure that the loading carriage is always held in an axially displaceable manner, aligned parallel to the bearing body.
  • the coupling wings are preferably folded up and down symmetrically to one another.
  • the loading carriage is moved back and forth along the bearing piston and the energy store is charged or discharged or the coil springs are tensioned or relaxed.
  • the energy store is charged when the loading carriage travels in the direction of the bearing body.
  • the door elements are transferred into the closed position in which they are aligned in a planar manner and are preferably locked by means of a locking device.
  • the locking device is preferably integrated into the folding device, but can also be mounted externally, e.g.
  • the loading carriage is pushed back by the compressive force exerted by the coil springs and returned to the starting position.
  • the first wing parts and thus the two door elements are rotated against one another and preferably aligned in parallel.
  • the compression springs are held by the bearing pistons between the bearing body and the loading carriage and do not have to be fastened in order to develop the desired effect.
  • the helical springs are designed as tension springs and have one end piece connected to the bearing body and the other end piece connected to the loading carriage, the energy store is charged when the loading carriage travels in the direction away from the bearing body and is discharged again when it travels back in the direction of the bearing body .
  • the energy store is therefore charged after the folding or the parallel alignment of the door elements, which is why the folding door is automatically partially or fully converted into the closed position after moving out of the door compartment the door elements are aligned parallel to each other. In this case, there is no need for locking since the energy store is discharged.
  • the function of the folding device according to the invention can therefore be advantageously changed and adapted to the wishes of the user by a simple modification, by using the helical springs either as compression springs or tension springs.
  • first wing part of each coupling wing is connected to the coupling shaft with at least one first bearing element and to the wing shaft with at least one second bearing element

  • the locking groove preferably runs around a central locking part and is designed in such a way that the associated locking element is guided cyclically around the locking part in the same direction during movements of the loading carriage and engages once in a locking area with each rotation and is released from the locking area again.
  • the folding door of a piece of furniture can advantageously be equipped with one or more folding devices according to the invention.

  • a first end piece of a spring bar for example a leaf spring, is mounted on a second end of the second pulling device body, which has an exposed second Has end piece, of which a second deflection element is held, via which the traction cable is guided to the second holding element.
  • the traction device units are mounted horizontally or perpendicularly to the hinge axis of the folding door. So that the traction device units do not collide when the door elements are folded together, they are preferably arranged offset one above the other vertically or parallel to the hinge axis of the folding door.
  • the first pulling device unit is mounted on the first door element in such a way that the first holding element faces the hinge axis of the folding door and the first deflection element faces away from the hinge axis
  • the preferably horizontally aligned second pulling device unit is mounted on the second door element in such a way that the spring rod with the second deflection element faces the hinge axis of the folding door and the second retaining element faces away from the hinge axis, the first retaining element being connected via the tension spring to the tension cable, which is connected via the first deflection element and the second deflection element, such as an eyelet or a pulley , is guided to the second holding element.
  • the door elements are rotated against one another at an accelerated rate.
  • the spring rod if necessary the leaf spring, is first pulled outwards at the front.
  • the force in the pull cable is reduced so that the pull cable is guided by the spring bar against the associated door element.
  • At least one of the deflection elements is preferably a deflection roller which is held by a deflection bearing.
  • the deflection bearing is preferably held by means of a pivot bearing so that it can be rotated upwards or downwards. • the first and/or the second holding element is preferably held by a holding carriage which can be displaced and locked along a holding rail.
  • the traction cable can therefore be pretensioned as required, so that on the one hand the force required for planar alignment of the door elements in the closed position is not too high and on the other hand the force to unfold the door elements into the open position is sufficiently high.
  • the traction cable preferably runs parallel thereto and does not exert any torque on the door elements.
