Abstract
Description
- La présente invention concerne une barrière de protection pour un équipement industriel.
- Des barrières anti-feu et /anti-projections de métal fondu et/ou anti-fragments sont utilisées dans les installations industrielles où est présent de l'oxygène ou au moins un fluide combustible, tels que l'hydrogène, le méthane, l'acétylène, l'ammoniac, le propane, le propylène.
- Ces barrières peuvent être en béton, béton armé, acier ou ciment.
- Par exemple, les appareils de séparation de l'air ou d'autres mélanges gazeux par distillation cryogénique fonctionnent à des pressions élevées et sont reliés à des équipements potentiellement dangereux où circulent un fluide combustible ou de l'oxygène. Ces équipements doivent être protégés par des barrières. Le but principal d'une barrière de sécurité est de prévenir les accidents du personnel. Un objectif secondaire est de prévenir ou de réduire les dommages aux équipements adjacents. Les barrières liées aux services d'oxygène ou hydrogène sont particulièrement importantes. Les incendies et / ou explosions d'oxygène sont très différents en température et en intensité que ceux d'une raffinerie de pétrole ou d'une usine pétrochimique. Dans les incendies de raffinerie ou de pétrochimie, le carburant est au moins un hydrocarbure qui s'échappe à travers le métal comme les tuyaux et les réservoirs, et les températures peuvent atteindre jusqu'à 980°C. Dans un incendie à oxygène, le carburant est lui-même est du métal. Ces incendies produisent à des températures extrêmement élevées de 3000°C et plus.
- Ainsi, en général, il existe trois types de forces mécaniques à prendre en compte dans la conception d'une barrière: (i) force d'un jet résultant d'un dégagement de fluide compressible à partir d'un trou dans un carter de compresseur ou une tuyauterie accompagnée de métal fondu issu d'un trou, (ii) une surpression ou une force de souffle résultant d'une libération massive d'énergie stockée, comme un stockage d'oxygène ou de gaz de combustion chauds, et (iii) une force résultant de l'impact de fragments d'acier projetés à une vitesse élevée en raison de une explosion. En outre, la conception d'une barrière de sécurité pour résister à un feu d'oxygène doit lui permettre de résister à des charges thermiques de 3000°C à l'emplacement de la combustion métallique et des éclaboussures de métal fondu. « Oxygen Compressor Installation and Opération Guide, a standard for current industrial practices for oxygen compressor installations, opérations, maintenance, and safety, publication number G-4.6 (1992) » publié par Compressed Gas Association ("CGA"), 4221 Walney Road, 5th Floor, Chantilly, Va. 20151-2923 Doc 10/17 décrit une enceinte pour un compresseur d'oxygène, l'enceinte ayant des parois verticales d'une hauteur minimale de 2,4 m, à ciel ouvert ou ayant un toit partiel. Ce document souligne l'importance de la ventilation pour éviter la concentration d'oxygène autour du compresseur et suggère que le fait que l'enceinte soit à ciel ouvert suffit pour assurer cette ventilation.
- Un but de la présente invention est de réduire la distance à laquelle des fragments et/ou du métal fondu peuvent être projetés suite à une explosion et/ou de limiter la propagation d'une flamme. De cette façon, il devient possible de disposer d'autres équipements et/ou d'autoriser la présence d'une personne plus proches de la barrière sans risque sécuritaire.
- Selon un autre but de l'invention, il est prévu d'améliorer la ventilation à l'intérieur de la barrière.

DE4106810A1 décrit une barrière selon le préambule de la revendication 1. - Selon un objet de l'invention, il est prévu une barrière de protection pour un équipement industriel parcouru par et/ou ou traitant un fluide combustible ou de l'oxygène comprenant quatre parois verticales formant quatre côtés d'un parallélépipède fixées à un socle pour définir un espace à section rectangulaire destiné à contenir l'équipement industriel disposé sur le socle, les quatre parois verticales ayant une hauteur d'au moins 2,4m et comprenant au moins un toit partiel fixé à au moins une des parois verticales, ayant une surface parallèle au socle et s'étendant au-dessus de l'espace, la surface du toit partiel ou la surface de chacun des toits partiels étant égale au plus à 50%, de préférence au plus 30%, de la surface correspondant à la section rectangulaire caractérisé en ce qu'une première paroi des quatre parois dont la longueur est celle de la barrière est fixée à un premier toit partiel et la hauteur d'une deuxième des quatre parois ou d'une cloison est supérieure à celle de la première paroi, la deuxième paroi ou la cloison étant parallèle à la première paroi.

- Selon un autre objet de l'invention, il est prévu une installation comprenant au moins deux barrières de protection pour un équipement industriel parcouru par et/ou ou traitant un fluide combustible ou de l'oxygène, chacune comprenant quatre parois verticales formant quatre côtés d'un parallélépipède fixées à un socle pour définir un espace à section rectangulaire destiné à contenir l'équipement industriel disposé sur le socle, les quatre parois verticales ayant une hauteur d'au moins 2,4m et comprenant au moins un toit partiel fixé à au moins une des parois verticales, ayant une surface parallèle au socle et s'étendant au-dessus de l'espace, la surface du toit partiel ou la surface de chacun des toits partiels étant égale au plus à 50%, de préférence au plus 30%, de la surface correspondant à la section rectangulaire, les au moins deux barrières ayant une paroi commune, chaque barrière destinée à contenir un équipement industriel parcouru par et/ou traitant un gaz combustible ou de l'oxygène, la paroi commune étant parallèle à une paroi de chacune des au moins deux barrières et étant plus haute que les au moins deux parois auxquelles elle est parallèle.

- l'installation comprend deux toits partiels fixés à paroi commune.
- les deux toits partiels sont à la même hauteur.
- L'installation peut comprendre deux équipements industriels, chacun dans l'espace rectangulaire d'une des deux barrières.

Fig.1 ] montre une coupe d'une barrière de protection pour un équipement industriel E. L'équipement industriel E peut être parcouru par un fluide (gaz ou liquide) combustible ou de l'oxygène gazeux ou liquide. Il peut aussi traiter le fluide en question. L'équipement E peut par exemple être un compresseur, une pompe, une vanne, une conduite ou un stockage. La pression du fluide en question peut être au-dessus d'un bara, ou au-dessus de 10 bara ou au-dessus de 50 bara. - La barrière comprend quatre parois verticales 1,2,3,4 formant quatre côtés d'un parallélépipède fixées à un socle S pour définir un espace à section rectangulaire destiné à contenir l'équipement industriel E disposé sur le socle S. Ici on voit les parois 1, 2 ayant la même hauteur. La paroi 4 formerait le fond de la coupe mais n'est pas illustré. Les quatre parois verticales 1,2,3,4 sont en béton armé ou autre matériel adapté (acier, ciment, béton) et ont une hauteur d'au moins 2, 4m. Dans la coupe, on voit les parois 1, 2 définissant la longueur d'espace, les parois 3,4 en définissant la largeur W. Le rapport entre la largeur et la longueur peut avoir n'importe laquelle valeur. L'espace parallélépipédique entre les parois 1,2,3,4 et le socle est partiellement fermé sur le dessus par un toit partiel T1 fixé à trois des parois verticales 1,3,4. Le toit T1 est une plaque, en béton armé ou autre matériel adapté (acier, ciment, béton) et a une surface rectangulaire parallèle au socle S et perpendiculaire aux parois1,2,3,4, la surface du toit partiel T1 correspondant à au plus la moitié de la section rectangulaire de l'espace formé par les quatre parois 1,2,3,4. La largeur de la plaque du toit T1 est W1 et sa longueur est celle des parois 1, 2. Le toit partiel se trouve au-dessus de l'équipement E laissant un espace ouvert de largeur WA et de longueur égale celle des parois 1, 2.
- W1 est égal au plus à 50% de W et WA est égal au moins à 50% de W.
- A côté de la barrière se trouve un appareil industriel B sur lequel peut travailler une personne. On voit que la barrière est dimensionnée de sorte que le cône parcouru par les fragments ou le feu provenant de l'équipement E ne peut atteindre la personne ou l'appareil B. Ici l'équipement industriel est sur le même socle S, ceci n'est pas essentiel. L'appareil B peut être une colonne de distillation ou un stockage et ici est plus haut que la barrière, donc plus haut qu'au moins 2,4 m.
- Le socle S ne s'étend pas nécessairement au-delà de la barrière et l'appareil peut se trouver sur un autre socle.
- Un opérateur peut agir sur l'équipement à travers les manettes passant dans une paroi de la barrière. Ainsi l'opérateur reste à l'extérieur de la barrière.

Fig.2 ] montre de manière plus détaillée la distance D entre la paroi 1 de la barrière de hauteur H et l'appareil B. Sans la présence du toit partiel T1 de largeur WT, le feu et/ou les fragments provenant de E attendraient une zone de l'appareil B en dessous de la hauteur M. La paroi 2 n'est pas illustrée pour simplifier le dessin. - [
Fig.3 ] montre la même coupe que la [Fig. 1 ] mais vue dans l'autre sens avec la paroi 3 au fond. - [
Fig.4 ] montre une coupe d'une barrière de protection pour quatre équipements industriels dont deux illustrés ici E, E1. Les équipements industriels peuvent être parcourus par le même fluide (gaz ou liquide) combustible ou de l'oxygène gazeux ou liquide ou peuvent être parcourus par des fluides différents (combustible ou oxygène). Ils peuvent aussi traiter le fluide en question. Les équipements peuvent être choisis dans la liste suivante non exhaustive : un compresseur, une pompe, une vanne, une conduite ou un stockage. La ou les pressions du fluide ou des fluides en question peut être ou peuvent être au-dessus d'un bara, ou au-dessus de 10 bara ou au-dessus de 50 bara. - La barrière comprend quatre parois verticales 1,2,3,4 formant quatre côtés d'un parallélépipède fixées à un socle S et divisés par des cloisons C pour définir un espace à section rectangulaire divisé en quatre compartiments identiques ou pas destinés à contenir chacun un équipement industriel E. Chacun de ces compartiments est considéré comme formant une barrière pour l'équipement qu'il contient. Ici on voit les parois 1, 2 ayant la même hauteur. Les quatre parois verticales 1,2,3,4 sont en béton armé ou autre matériel adapté et ont une hauteur H d'au moins 2, 4m. Dans la coupe, on voit les parois 1, 2 définissant la longueur d'espace, les parois 3,4 en définissant la largeur 2W. Le rapport entre la largeur et la longueur peut avoir n'importe laquelle valeur.
- Entre les deux parois 1, 2 se dresse une cloison verticale C de même longueur que les parois 1, 2 mais plus haute que celles-ci. Ainsi dans la figure, on voit deux des compartiments, un pour l'équipement E et un pour l'équipement E1. Une personne peut opérer sur l'équipement, ici E1, en agissant sur des liens passant à travers la paroi, ici paroi 2.
- Chacun des compartiments a une largueur W et une longueur égale à la moitié de la longueur des parois 1,2.
- L'espace parallélépipédique entre les parois 1,2,3,4 et le socle est partiellement fermé sur le dessus par quatre toits partiels T1, T2, T3, T4. Le toits partiel T1 est fixé à trois des parois verticales 1,3,4. Le toit T1 est une plaque, en béton armé ou autre matériel adapté et a une surface rectangulaire parallèle au socle S et perpendiculaire aux parois1,2,3,4, la surface du toit partiel T1 correspondant à la section rectangulaire de l'espace formé par les quatre parois 1,2,3,4. La largeur de la plaque du toit T1 est WT et sa longueur est celle des parois 1, 2. Ce toit partiel se trouve au-dessus de l'équipement E laissant un espace ouvert de largeur WA et de longueur égale celle des parois 1, 2.
- W1 est égal au plus à 50% de W et WA est égal au moins à 50% de W.
- Le toit T1 est une plaque, en béton armé ou autre matériel adapté et a une surface rectangulaire parallèle au socle S et perpendiculaire aux parois 1,2,3,4, la surface du toit partiel T1 correspondant au plus le quart de la section rectangulaire de l'espace formé par les quatre parois 1,2,3,4. La largeur de la plaque du toit T1 est WT et sa longueur est celle des parois 1, 2. Ce toit partiel se trouve au-dessus de l'équipement E laissant un espace ouvert de largeur WA et de longueur égale celle des parois 1, 2, traversant entièrement deux compartiments.
- W1 est égal au plus à 50% de W et WA est égal au moins à 50% de W.
- Le toit T2 est une plaque, en béton armé ou autre matériel adapté et a une surface rectangulaire parallèle au socle S et perpendiculaire aux parois 1,2,3,4 et la cloison C, la surface du toit partiel T2 correspondant au plus le quart de la section rectangulaire de l'espace formé par les quatre parois 1,2,3,4 et au plus la moitié de la section rectangulaire du compartiment formé par les cloisons et deux des parois. La largeur de la plaque du toit T2 est WT2 et sa longueur est celle des parois 1, 2. Le toit partiel T2 est fixé en haut de la cloison C parallèle au parois 1, 2. Ce toit partiel T2 ne se pas trouve au-dessus de l'équipement E.
- W1 est égal au plus à 50% de W et WA est égal au moins à 50% de W.
- Le positionnement décalé des toits partiels T2, T1 force l'air à s'engouffrer dans la barrière descendant le long de la cloison et circulant autour de l'équipement E, ainsi améliorant la ventilation de l'équipement E.
- En miroir, de l'autre côté de la cloison, un toit partiel T3 est fixé au-dessus du compartiment où est disposé l'équipement E1. Un toit partiel T4 s'étend depuis le haut de la paroi 2 au-dessus de l'équipement E1.
- Comme indiqué la présence les toit partiels T2, T3 à plus grande hauteur peut permettre de réduire la taille des toits partiels T1, T4. Ici les toits partiels T1, T4 sont plus longs que les toits partiels T2, T3.
- Pour ce cas où les deux toits T1, T2 et T3, T4 forment des chicanes, il est important que les deux toits partiels ne se recouvrent pas pour laisser suffisamment de passage à l'air.
- Par exemple, la séparation verticale F entre deux toits recouvrant une partie d'une même espace est entre 20cm et 2m. La séparation horizontale D entre les extrémités libres des deux toits correspond à entre 25 et 75% de la largeur W.
- Le toit T1 est fixé à la paroi 1 et optionnellement aux parois 3,4 et/ou ou aux cloisons C, C' si présentes mais pas à la paroi 2. Les toits T2 et T3 sont fixés uniquement à la cloison C. Le toit T4 est fixé à la paroi 2 et optionnellement aux parois 3,4 et/ou ou aux cloisons C, C'.
- Selon une version simplifiée la cloison C peut simplement être plus haute que les parois 1, 2 et ne pas avoir de toit partiel, le simple effet de saillie pouvant améliorer la ventilation.

Fig.5 ] montre que la présence du toit T3 de la [fig.4 ] n'est pas essentielle. - Le toit T1 est fixé à la paroi 1 et optionnellement aux parois 3,4 ou aux cloisons C, C4 si présentes mais pas à la paroi 2. Le toit T2 est fixé uniquement à la cloison C.

Fig.6 ] montre que la présence du toit T2 de la [fig.4 ] n'est pas essentielle. Le toit T1 est fixé à la paroi 1 et optionnellement aux parois 3,4 ou aux cloisons C, C4 si présentes mais pas à la paroi 2. Le toit T3 est fixé uniquement à la cloison C. - [
Fig.7 ] montre une vue de dessus de la barrière de la [Fig.4 ] avec ses quatre compartiments identiques et les deux cloisons C, C' perpendiculaires l'une à l'autre. La cloison C est parallèle au parois 1, 2 et perpendiculaire aux parois 3, 4 et la cloison C' est perpendiculaire au parois 1, 2 et parallèle aux parois 3, 4. - La barrière comprend quatre parois verticales 1,2,3,4 formant quatre côtés d'un parallélépipède fixées à un socle S pour définir un espace à section rectangulaire destiné à contenir les équipements industriels E, E1, E2, E3 disposés sur le socle. La longueur de cet espace est définie par les parois parallèles 1, 2 et le largueur de cet espace est définie par les parois parallèles 3, 4.
- L'espace parallélépipédique entre les parois 1,2,3,4 et le socle est partiellement fermé sur le dessus par un toit partiel T1 fixé à trois des parois verticales 1,3,4. Le toit T1 est une plaque, en béton armé ou autre matériel adapté et a une surface rectangulaire parallèle au socle S et perpendiculaire aux parois1,2,3,4 des parois 1, 2.
- Ici seule une partie de chaque équipement E1, E2, E se trouve directement en dessous du toit partiel T4, T1. L'équipement E4 est ici une conduite qui se trouve entièrement en dessous du toit partiel T4.

Fig. 8 ] montre une variante de l'invention où la barrière n'a pas de cloison C mais comprend quatre parois verticales 1,2,3,4 formant quatre côtés d'un parallélépipède fixées à un socle S pour définir un espace à section rectangulaire destiné à contenir l'équipement industriel E disposé sur le socle. Ici on voit les parois 1, 2 n'ont pas la même hauteur, la paroi 1 étant moins haute que la paroi 2. Les parois 1 et 3 ont de préférence la même hauteur. La paroi 4 formerait le fond de la coupe mais n'est pas illustrée. Les quatre parois verticales 1,2,3,4 sont en béton armé ou autre matériel adapté et ont une hauteur d'au moins 2, 4m. Les parois 1, 2 définissent la longueur de l'espace, les parois 3,4 en définissant la largeur W. - L'équipement E se trouve au moins partiellement en dessous du toit T1 s'étendant depuis le haut de la paroi 1. L'équipement 3 n'est pas en dessous du toit T4 s'étendant depuis le haut de la paroi 2, le toit T4 étant à une élévation plus haute que celle du toit T1. Ainsi comme avant les toits T1, T4 forment des chicanes favorisant la ventilation autour de l'équipement.
- Le toit T1 est fixé à la paroi 1 et optionnellement aux parois 3,4 mais pas à la paroi 2. Le toit T4 est fixé uniquement à la paroi 2.
- Selon une version simplifiée la paroi 2 peut simplement être plus haute que la paroi 1 et ne pas avoir de toit partiel, le simple effet de saillie pouvant améliorer la ventilation.
Claims (15)
- Barrière de protection pour un équipement industriel (E, E1, E2, E3) parcouru par et/ou ou traitant un fluide combustible ou de l'oxygène comprenant quatre parois verticales (1,2,3,4, C, C') formant quatre côtés d'un parallélépipède fixées à un socle pour définir un espace à section rectangulaire destiné à contenir l'équipement industriel disposé sur le socle, les quatre parois verticales ayant une hauteur d'au moins 2,4m et comprenant au moins un toit partiel (T1, T2, T3, T4) fixé à au moins une des parois verticales, ayant une surface parallèle au socle et s'étendant au-dessus de l'espace, la surface du toit partiel ou la surface de chacun des toits partiels étant égale au plus à 50%, de préférence au plus 30%, de la surface correspondant à la section rectangulaire caractérisé en ce qu'une première paroi (1, 2) des quatre parois dont la longueur est celle de la barrière est fixée à un premier toit partiel (T1, T4) et la hauteur d'une deuxième des quatre parois (2) ou d'une cloison (C) est supérieure à celle de la première paroi, la deuxième paroi ou la cloison étant parallèle à la première paroi.
- Barrière selon la revendication 1 comprenant l'équipement industriel (E, E1, E2, E3) disposé avec au moins en partie, de préférence ayant au moins 50% de sa prise au sol en dessous du toit partiel ou d'un des toits partiels
- Barrière selon la revendication 2 dans lequel l'équipement industriel (E, E1, E2, E3) est entièrement en dessous du toit partiel (T1, T2, T3, T4).
- Barrière selon l'une des revendications précédentes 1, 2 ou 3 comprenant l'équipement industriel contenu dans l'espace rectangulaire et dans lequel l'équipement industriel (E, E1, E2, E3) est en dessous de seulement un des toits partiels (T1, T2, T3, T4).
- Barrière selon l'une des revendications précédentes dans lequel au moins 50% de la section de l'espace est à ciel ouvert.
- Barrière selon l'une des revendications précédentes dans laquelle la largeur de l'espace ouvert de la barrière est supérieure à 0,75H où H est la hauteur d'au moins trois parois (1,2,3,4, C, C') de la barrière.
- Barrière selon l'une des revendications précédentes dans laquelle toutes les parois verticales (1,2,3,4, C, C') ont la même hauteur.
- Barrière selon l'une des revendications précédentes dans laquelle un deuxième toit partiel (T2, T3) est fixé en haut de la deuxième paroi (2, C), les premier et deuxième toits partiels (T1, T2) se trouvant au-dessus de l'espace formé par les quatre parois (1,2,3,4, C, C').
- Barrière selon l'une revendications 1 à 7 dans laquelle un deuxième toit partiel (T3, T4) est fixé en haut de la cloison (C), les premier et deuxième toits partiels se trouvant au-dessus de l'espace formé par la première paroi (1, 2), une partie de deux des autres quatre parois (3,4).et de la cloison(C).
- Barrière selon l'une des revendications 8 et 9 où le premier toit partiel (T1) se trouve à une hauteur moins élevée que le deuxième toit partiel (T2).
- Barrière selon l'une des revendications précédentes comprenant l'équipement industriel contenu dans l'espace rectangulaire où l'équipement (E, E1, E2, E3) est un compresseur, une pompe, une vanne, une conduite ou un stockage.
- Installation comprenant au moins deux barrières de protection pour un équipement industriel (E, E1, E2, E3) parcouru par et/ou ou traitant un fluide combustible ou de l'oxygène, chacune comprenant quatre parois verticales (1,2,3,4, C, C') formant quatre côtés d'un parallélépipède fixées à un socle pour définir un espace à section rectangulaire destiné à contenir l'équipement industriel disposé sur le socle, les quatre parois verticales ayant une hauteur d'au moins 2,4m et comprenant au moins un toit partiel (T1, T2, T3, T4) fixé à au moins une des parois verticales, ayant une surface parallèle au socle et s'étendant au-dessus de l'espace, la surface du toit partiel ou la surface de chacun des toits partiels étant égale au plus à 50%, de préférence au plus 30%, de la surface correspondant à la section rectangulaire, les au moins deux barrières ayant une paroi commune (C), chaque barrière destinée à contenir un équipement industriel (E, E1, E2, E3) parcouru par et/ou traitant un gaz combustible ou de l'oxygène, la paroi commune (C) étant parallèle à une paroi (1,2) de chacune des au moins deux barrières et étant plus haute que les au moins deux parois (1, 2) auxquelles elle est parallèle.
- Installation selon la revendication 12 comprenant deux toits partiels (T2, T3) fixés à paroi commune (C).
- Installation selon la revendication 13 dans laquelle les deux toits partiels (T2, T3) sont à la même hauteur.
- Installation selon l'une des revendication 12 à 14 comprenant deux équipements industriels, chacun dans l'espace rectangulaire d'une des deux barrières.
