- Advantageous refinements and developments are the subject of the subclaims.
- a generic receiver for a system for light transmission comprises a camera which has an image sensor.
- a light-sensitive surface of the image sensor comprises several rows of light-sensitive elements.
- the image sensor is designed in such a way that the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor is scanned line by line or column by column.
- the receiver also includes an attachment.
- the attachment element is arranged in such a way that light striking the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor passes the attachment element beforehand.
- the attachment element of the receiver has at least one lenticular area and at least one planar area.
- Light that passes through the at least one lenticular area of the attachment element generates a first image on the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor.
- Light that passes through the at least one planar area of the attachment element generates a second image on the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor.
- Light that passes through the at least one lenticular area of the attachment element is refracted relatively strongly.
- the first image generated on the image sensor of the camera is therefore a blurred image.
- a light beam which originates from a point light source is imaged in the form of a light strip. When modulated light arrives, the said light strip is light and dark in chronological order, depending on the modulation.
- the light strip can thus have light and dark areas, depending on the modulation.
- a data stream can be detected from the light and dark areas of said light strip, according to which the light source emits modulated light.
- the second image generated on the image sensor of the camera is therefore a sharp optical image.
- a data stream with a data transmission rate which is greater than an image frequency of the receiver's camera can thus be detected from the first image.
- a sharp optical image can be detected from the second image.
- the receiver according to the invention is therefore advantageously suitable for rapid data transmission and also for the simultaneous recording of sharp optical images.
- the attachment element is designed in the form of a film or in the form of a plate.
- the at least one lenticular area has an alternating material thickness, and the at least one planar area has a constant material thickness.
- the film is translucent. The alternating material thickness ensures that the refraction of an incident light beam is not the same everywhere, but depends on the location of the incident.
- the material thickness of the at least one lenticular area is constant in a preferred direction and alternating in a transverse direction which runs at right angles to the preferred direction.
- This configuration of the lenticular area has the effect that an impinging light beam is imaged in the form of a light strip which extends in the transverse direction.
- the attachment element has a plurality of strip-shaped lenticular areas and a plurality of strip-shaped planar areas. The strip-shaped lenticular areas preferably run parallel to the strip-shaped planar areas.
- the strip-shaped lenticular areas are preferably oriented parallel to the transverse direction.
- the strip-shaped planar areas are also oriented parallel to the transverse direction.
- the receiver further comprises a recording unit.
- the receiving unit has a first receiving element and a second receiving element which is movable relative to the first receiving element.
- the camera is received in the first receiving element and the attachment element is received in the second receiving element.
- the attachment element can thus be moved, for example pivoted or displaced, relative to the camera.
- the at least one lenticular area has a plurality of elevations which are arranged next to one another in the transverse direction.
- the elevations of the at least one lenticular area are preferably semicircular.
- a system according to the invention for light transmission comprises a receiver according to the invention and a transmitter which has at least one controllable light source.
- the at least one light source of the transmitter emits light that is modulated in accordance with a predetermined data stream.
- the attachment element of the receiver is arranged between the at least one controllable light source of the transmitter and the camera of the receiver. This ensures that light which strikes the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor of the camera passes the attachment element beforehand.
- the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor is set line by line or column by column scanned.
- a first image, which is projected onto the light-sensitive surface through the at least one lenticular area of the attachment element, is processed separately from a second image, which is projected onto the light-sensitive surface through the at least one planar area of the attachment element.
- the data stream corresponding to which the at least one controllable light source of the transmitter emits modulated light is detected from the first image.
- the data transmission rate of the data stream is advantageously greater than an image frequency of the receiver's camera.
- an optical image is detected from the second image.
- the second image is advantageously a sharp optical image.
- different information can thus be transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver and recorded by the receiver at the same time using the first image and the second image.
- coordinates can be coded in the data stream. Localization is then possible by evaluating the data stream detected from the first image. By evaluating the second image, for example, a QR code can be scanned.
- Figure 1 a schematic representation of a system for light transmission
- FIG. 2 a plan view of an attachment element according to a first embodiment
- FIG. 3 a section through the attachment element according to the first embodiment
- FIG. 4 an overall image projected by the attachment element according to the first embodiment
- FIG. 5 a plan view of an attachment element according to a second embodiment.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic representation of a system 10 for light transmission.
- the system 10 for light transmission comprises a transmitter 14 which has a controllable light source 1.
- the light source 1 is, for example, an LED, a ceiling lamp or a headlight of a vehicle.
- the light transmission system 10 further comprises a receiver 12.
- the receiver 12 includes a camera 6.
- the camera 6 has an image sensor 4.
- the image sensor 4 has a light-sensitive surface which comprises several rows and columns of light-sensitive elements. When the camera 6 is in operation, the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor 4 is scanned line by line or column by column. The individual scanned lines are then put together to form an overall image.
- the camera 6 further comprises an optical element in the form of an optical lens 8.
- the lens 8 is arranged in front of the image sensor 4, so that light which strikes the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor 4 passes the lens 8 beforehand.
- the camera 6 also includes signal electronics 5, which are used in particular to scan the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor 4.
- the receiver 12 also comprises an attachment element 3.
- the attachment element 3 is arranged in front of the image sensor 4 in such a way that light which strikes the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor 4 passes the attachment element 3 beforehand.
- the attachment element 3 is in the form of a relatively thin, translucent film formed.
- the attachment element 3 is arranged between the light source 1 of the transmitter 14 and the camera 6.
- the camera 6 of the receiver 12 is, for example, part of a commercially available cell phone or smartphone.
- the receiver 12 optionally also includes a recording unit.
- the receiving unit is, for example, a case which has a first receiving element and a second receiving element.
- the second receiving element can be moved, in particular pivoted, relative to the first receiving element.
- the mobile phone with the camera 6 is received in the first receiving element, and the attachment element 3 is received in the second receiving element.
- the attachment element 3 can be moved relative to the camera 6, for example pivotable or displaceable. If no data transmission via the system 10 is desired, the attachment element 3 can be removed from the camera 6 and the camera can record a complete optical image without the attachment element 3.
- Figure 2 shows a plan view of an attachment element 3 according to a first embodiment.
- the attachment element 3 has a plurality of strip-shaped lenticular areas 31 and a plurality of strip-shaped planar areas 32.
- the strip-shaped lenticular regions 31 and planar regions 32 are oriented parallel to a transverse direction Q and at right angles to a preferred direction V.
- the lenticular areas 31 of the attachment element 3 are designed in such a way that light which passes through the lenticular areas 31 is refracted relatively strongly.
- a light beam which originates from a point light source 1 is imaged in the form of a light strip.
- Light which passes through the lenticular areas 31 of the attachment element 3 generates a first image on the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor 4. The first image is out of focus due to the relatively strong refraction of the light.
- planar areas 32 of the attachment element 3 are designed in such a way that light which passes through the planar areas 32 penetrates the attachment element 3 at least approximately in a straight line, that is, is not refracted or is only slightly refracted. Light which passes through the planar areas 32 of the attachment element 3 generates a second image on the light-sensitive surface of the image sensor 4. The second image is a sharp optical image.
- Figure 3 shows a section through the attachment element 3 according to the first embodiment. The section shown here runs in the transverse direction Q through one of the strip-shaped planar areas 32. The section shown here through the attachment element 3 runs at right angles to the preferred direction V.
- planar area 32 of the attachment element 3 visible here has an at least approximately constant material thickness. Thus, light penetrates the planar region 32 at least approximately in a straight line and is not or only insignificantly refracted.
- the lenticular area 31 of the attachment element 3, which is only partially visible here, has an alternating material thickness.
- the lenticular area 31 has several elevations 35 which are arranged next to one another in the transverse direction Q. In the present case, the elevations 35 are semicircular. The elevations 35 can also have other configurations.
- the material thickness of the lenticular region 31 is therefore alternating in the transverse direction Q. In the preferred direction V, the material thickness of the lenticular area 31 is constant. Light impinging on the lenticular area 31 is thus refracted to different degrees depending on the point of impingement.
- FIG. 4 shows an overall image projected by the attachment element 3 according to the first embodiment.
- the overall image includes a first image that is generated by light that passes through the lenticular areas 31 of the attachment element 3.
- the overall image also includes a second image that is generated by light that passes through the planar regions 32 of the attachment element 3.
- the transmitter 14, which generates the overall image is a motor vehicle in the present case.
- the motor vehicle has two light sources 1, which are designed as headlights.
- the two light sources 1 are to be regarded as approximately point-shaped.
- the light strips generated by the two light sources extend in the direction of the lenticular areas 31, i.e. in the transverse direction Q.
- the first image thus has two light strips and a plurality of dark strips.
- the second image is a sharp optical image.
- the second image shows the transmitter 14 only partially. Nevertheless, the transmitter 14, in the present case a motor vehicle, can be clearly recognized.
- FIG. 5 shows a plan view of an attachment element 3 according to a second embodiment.
- the attachment element 3 has exactly one lenticular area 31 and exactly one planar area 32.
- the lenticular area 31 and the planar area 32 are each rectangular in shape and have approximately the same areas.
