Claims (5)

  1. - A crane (10) with a telescopic jib (1), intended to be attached to a vehicle, the crane (10) including a fixed member (2) in which at least one movable member (4) slides, characterised in that it bears an auxiliary lifting device (5) which comprises a housing (7) which is attached to the fixed member (2) of the jib (1) substantially above a load (20) to be lifted, and containing at least a first pulley (8), called guide pulley (8), of axis (8a) transverse to a sliding direction of the jib (1), the device (5) also comprising a sling (6) which is attached by one end to an attachment point (15) provided at one end of the movable member (4) and which is intended to be attached by its other end to the load (20) to be lifted, the sling (6) thus passing over the guide pulley (8) such that the sliding of the movable member (4) causes, by means of the sling (6), the vertical lifting or lowering of the load (20).
  2. - The crane according to claim 1, characterised in that the housing (7) contains a second pulley (9), called bypass pulley (9), of axis (9a) parallel to that of the first pulley (8), the axis (9a) of the second pulley (9) being located at a distance D from the fixed member (2) of the crane (10) greater than the distance d at which the axis (8a) of the first pulley (8) is located with respect to the fixed member (2).
  3. - The crane according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterised in that several bores are arranged on the fixed member (2) to allow several possible fixing points for the housing (7) along the fixed member (2).
  4. - A method for handling a load (20) using a crane (10) according to one of claims 1 to 3, the method including the following steps:
    - placing the housing (7) such that the first pulley (8) is positioned directly above the load (20);
    - attaching a first end of the sling (6) to the attachment point (15) of the movable member (4);
    - attaching the load (20) to the second end of the sling (6) ;
    - controlling the extension of the movable member (4) until the load (20) is lifted.
  5. - The method for handling a load (20) according to claim 4, the method also including the following steps after the lifting of the load:
    - controlling the movement of the jib (1) in elevation and/or in relative bearing until the load (20) is placed above a deposit location;
    - controlling the retraction of the movable member (4) until the load (20) is deposited.
