- the inner door may comprise a storage space for food items and an access opening for the storage space, wherein the access opening is openable or closable by the outer door.
- the door tray may in particular extend into the storage space in the closed state of the doors.
- the door tray may extend horizontally along a width direction of the outer door. In case of two, three or more door trays are attached to the outer door, these door trays may be positioned vertically above each other.
- the inner door may be provided with at least one (e.g. one, two, three or more) door tray which is attached to a side of the inner door facing the outer door in the closed state of the door.
- the inner door may be provided with at least one (e.g. one, two, three or more) door tray which is attached to a side of the inner door facing the compartment of the housing in the closed state of the door.
- the outer door may in particular - as also described below - be transparent at least in portions.
- the outer door can comprise at least one viewing pane.
- the viewing pane, or window can comprise a glass plate.
- the viewing pane can comprise an insulation glass.
- a household cooling appliance which comprises a housing, in which at least one compartment for food items (e.g. is goods to be cooled) is formed, and comprising a door device by which the compartment is openable or closable, the door device comprising an inner door and an outer door, wherein the outer door is arranged in front of the inner door in a closed state of the doors, wherein the outer door is - as also described below - transparent at least in portions.
- the outer door can comprise at least one viewing pane.
- the viewing pane, or window can comprise a glass plate.
- the viewing pane can comprise an insulation glass.
- the storage space is bounded by an element that has a reduced number of components, namely the cover or the troughlike wall body so that here in particular only one component, namely this cover or troughlike body bounds the storage space, e.g. circumferentially and thus on many sides.
- the storage space can therefore be enclosed in several directions by this one component.
- the cover and the wall body When employing both, the cover and the wall body the possibility of covering or cladding the wall body towards the rear side is created so that it is not visible in this regard, too. Moreover, by the cover it is facilitated that the door device is further developed functionally also on the rear side and to also use this cover for attaching further components. Thereby by the door device a door-to-door system is created, which complies with a multifunctional concept in order to be able to store food items in many ways on the door itself, in particular also with various, independent storage conditions. Moreover, accessibility of the individual areas of the door device, in which then food items can be stored, is provided in a simple and user-friendly way.
- the doors (i.e. the inner door and the outer door) of the door device are pivotable about a single common rotation axis in the coupled state of the doors. In the coupled state a user can grab one of the doors and thus open the door device to get access to the compartment.
- the cover is stationary coupled to the inner door
- the cover and the inner door are during use of the household cooling appliance permanently motion-coupled; that is when opening or closing the inner door the cover will be moved along with the inner door.
- the cover is therefore not movable relatively to the inner door.
- the cover shields the storage space towards the rear, i.e. towards the compartment.
- the cover prevents access to the storage space from the rear side, i.e. the cover prevents access to the storage space, once the outer door and the inner door are opened simultaneously.
- the cover may not necessarily be able to be disassembled or removed from the inner door in a non-destructive way or the cover may not be disassembled or removed from the inner door without tools. In this way an accidental removal of the cover from the inner door, e.g. by a user, can be prevented.
- the inner door comprises a wall body.
- the wall body is a troughlike wall body.
- a vertical extension, i.e. in height direction, of the troughlike wall body may correspond to at least 25 % or at least 40 % or at least 60 % or at least 70 % of a vertical extension of the outer door and/or the inner door.
- the vertical extension of the troughlike wall body is measured as clear width in vertical direction.
- a vertical extension of the outer door and a vertical extension of the inner door may substantially be the same. "Substantially" in this context means that a difference in the vertical extensions of the outer door and the inner door shall be less than 30 %, or less than 20 % or less than 10 % or less than 5 % of the vertical extension of the outer door.
- the cover is also configured to be troughlike.
- the cover is more stable, in particular more torsion-resistant.
- improved connection options of the cover to other components of the household cooling appliance are facilitated.
- a geometric shape of the cover a concept that saves construction space in the depth direction is made possible since also a certain plunging-in of further components into the trough volume of this troughlike cover is facilitated.
- the cover is arranged on a support structure of the inner door.
- the cover may be fixed to the inner door, in particular to the support structure, by using mechanical fasting elements such as hooks, bolts, screws.
- the support structure of the inner door can be configured to be frame-like, and can in particular be a circumferentially completely closed frame. Thereby it is also of a very robust design.
- the wall body at its rear side is fully covered by the cover.
- the dimensions of the cover may at least as large as those of the wall body.
- the wall body is completely covered on the side that faces away from the access opening.
- the cover comprises vertical edges that are opposite thereto and thus are oriented in the height direction of the door device.
- a carrier bar each may be integrally formed.
- at least one suspension hook may be integrally formed.
- the support structure of the inner door is a carrier frame.
- this carrier frame is at least U-shaped, preferably configured to be circumferentially fully closed.
- the troughlike wall body is stationary fixed to the inner door.
- the wall body is coupled to movements of the inner door.
- the troughlike wall body is stationary fixed to the inner door, it is in particular understood, that the troughlike wall body and the inner door may be permanently motion-coupled, that is when opening or closing the inner door the troughlike wall body will be moved along with the inner door.
- the troughlike wall body may therefore in particular not be movable relatively to the inner door.
- the troughlike wall body may not necessarily be able to be disassembled or removed from the inner door in a non-destructive way or the troughlike wall body may not be disassembled or removed from the inner door without tools. In this way an accidental removal of the troughlike wall body from the inner door, e.g. by a user, can be prevented.
- the wall body is non-destructively releasably attached to the support structure. In this way, the wall body can be removed for the purpose of servicing or cleaning.
- the wall body may be releasable only by using tools.
- a screwing is envisaged, whereby at least one, preferably several screw connections are realized.
- the wall body is also attachable to be securely fitted in position and fastened to a component that is designed to be advantageous for this purpose, namely this stable support structure.
- the cover is attached directly to the wall body in a non-destructively releasable way.
- the cover can be removed for the purpose of servicing or cleaning.
- the cover may be releasable only by using tools. In particular it can be screwed onto it. In this connection also several screw connections can be realized.
- the cover may be screwed upon the wall body and additionally suspended via several suspension hooks from the support structure from the top. Thereby a particularly stable attachment concept between the cover, the wall body, and the support structure is provided which can be easily assembled.
- the wall body viewed in the depth direction of the door device, is arranged to extend into the cover at least in portions.
- an extension of the wall body in depth direction extends at least up to 20 %, or at least up to 30 %, or at least up to 40 % or at least up to 50 % into the cover in depth direction.
- a concept that is space-saving in the depth direction is thereby realized. It may be envisaged that between a rear wall of the wall body and a rear wall of the cover a clearance or gap or channel is formed. The rear walls thus are not directly in contact with each other. By this defined clearance also airstreams can be generated in a defined way so that the clearance is also formed as flow passage.
- a top side wall of the troughlike wall body and/or on a bottom side wall of the troughlike wall body ventilation openings are formed.
- an airstream can be generated which is oriented in a very specific direction, namely along the height direction. Both the supplying and exhausting of air is thereby very advantageously facilitated.
- the specific passing of air into and out of the clearance can be effected without air streaming towards other components in an undesired manner.
- a defined airstream can then be generated in the storage space itself.
- the storage conditions in the storage space can be individually influenced.
- an undesired condensation at a front plate of the outer door which may be configured as transparent pane, occurs.
- the troughlike cover and/or at a bottom side wall of the troughlike cover ventilation openings are formed. Also thereby the above-named advantages can be achieved.
- At least one separate door tray is arranged on the side of the cover that faces away from the storage space.
- at least one door tray may be provided in the storage space of the inner door, which is closable by the outer door.
- stored goods, in particular bottles can be stored in this storage space in a defined way and can be made accessible at the front side by way of opening the outer door.
- a further door tray is arranged outside this storage space. This is only accessible if the door device is open, e.g. in the coupled state of the inner door and the outer door.
- this separate door tray preferably is not accessible and projects into the compartment of the household cooling appliance once the door device closed.
- the multi-functionality of the door device is also particularly advantageous in this regard. This is because, if the door device is arranged on the housing of the household cooling appliance and the door device is closed, the door tray on the cover can adopt the storage conditions as they are prevailing in the compartment of the household cooling appliance. By contrast, then the door tray in the storage space for this purpose can be exposed to various storage conditions, e.g. different storage conditions than those prevailing in the compartment.
- stored goods can be received, which are applied with the most varied storage conditions.
- a bottom is formed, wherein between further side walls of the wall body a connection bar, in particular a rib, extends, which is arranged in the height direction of the door device spaced apart from the bottom.
- a connection bar in particular a rib
- This open space for food items thus in the height direction between the bottom and the connection bar has a clearance, through which it can also be looked and via which the open space is also accessible at the front side.
- access i.e. for placing items to be stored, however, is granted from the top.
- the troughlike wall body is configured as box.
- This can also comprise a stiffening frame.
- the stiffening frame can be configured to be partly or completely circumferential.
- the troughlike wall body is formed as a single piece, in particular made of plastic.
- the toughlike wall body can be a plastic injection moulded part.
- the cover is formed as a single piece, in particular made of plastic.
- the cover can be a plastic injection moulded part.
- a separate, at least in portions transparent, plate is arranged in the storage space.
- This plate can for instance be made of real glass.
- This separate plate can be arranged on the trough bottom of the troughlike wall body.
- This troughlike wall body may be oriented in the height direction and thus positioned upright.
- the bottom or trough bottom of the troughlike wall body thus is oriented in a plane that extends through the height direction and the width direction of the door device.
- the door device comprises an illumination device, by means of which the storage space can be illuminated.
- the incident light from the illumination device in the storage space viewed in the height direction of the door device, is at the height level of a tray as it is formed in the storage space.
- ventilation openings or ventilation slots in the side walls of the troughlike wall body also cold air coming from a compartment of the household cooling appliance, in particular from a cooling compartment, can be passed into the storage space.
- the supply of air is effected via ventilation openings in the upper horizontal side wall and the exhaustion of air via a, in the height direction, lower horizontal side wall of the troughlike wall body.
- the wall strips bounding the ventilation openings in the side walls are positioned to be slanted in order to increase the length (measured in the flow direction of the air through the opening) of the ventilation slots or ventilation openings and thus to achieve maximum air circulation.
- additional crossbars may be formed.
- the a vertical extension of the outer door and a vertical extension of the inner door as well as a horizontal extension in width direction of the outer door and a horizontal extension in width direction of the inner are substantially the same.
- substantially the same in this context means, that a difference of an extension (vertical or horizontal) of the inner door with respect to the corresponding extension of the outer door is less than 25 %, less than 15 %, less than 10 % or less than 5 % in view of the respective extension of the outer door.
- the outer door is substantially flat.
- substantially flat in this context means that a vertical extension of the outer door and a horizontal extension in width direction of the outer door are each at least 5 times, or at least 10 times larger than a horizontal extension of the outer door in depth direction. In particular, there may be no door trays attached to the outer door.
- the outer door is transparent at least in portions. In this way, goods to be stored in the storage space can be seen, even in case the outer door is closed.
- the outer door can comprise at least one viewing pane.
- the viewing pane, or window can comprise a glass plate.
- the viewing pane can comprise an insulation glass.
- the insulation glass may consist of two, three or more glass panels which are positioned in depth direction with a distance to each other. Between the glass panels an insulation medium, e.g. inert gas, or a vacuum may exist.
- the viewing pane may be surrounded by a frame.
- the viewing pane may represent at least 50 %, or at least 75 %, or at least 80 % or at least 90 % of a visible front surface of the outer door.
- the compartment is a cooling compartment. It may however also be a freezer compartment.
- the household cooling appliance may comprise at least two separate compartments for food items, one of which may be a cooling compartment and the other a freezer compartment. It may be envisaged that these compartments are configured to be one above the other in the height direction of the household cooling appliance.
- the top compartment is closable by two separate doors, which are pivotable about separate vertical axes, wherein the vertical axes extend in parallel to each other, however, are arranged at opposite sides of the housing, viewed in the width direction.
- These two doors for closing the compartment are pivotable independently of each other and, viewed in the width direction, are arranged adjacent to each other without overlapping. In the height direction these two doors are arranged at the same height level. In the closed state of the two doors they extend in one plane relative to each other that extends through the width direction and the height direction without overlapping.
- At least one of these two doors which closes this compartment, can be configured as a door device according to the present invention.
- the further compartment can preferably be closable by a further separate door.
- This further door can be a front wall of a drawer that can be pushed in and drawn out linearly in the depth direction.
- FIG. 1 in a schematic view an embodiment of a household cooling appliance 1 is shown, which for instance can be a cooling device or a freezer device or a fridge-freezer combination device.
- a household cooling appliance 1, which is configured for storing and preserving food items, comprises a housing 2, in which at least one receptacle 3 for food items is formed.
- the receptacle 3 here is preferably a cooling compartment.
- the household cooling appliance 1 comprises a door 4, which is pivotably arranged on the housing 2.
- the door 4 is configured for closing the receptacle 3 on the front side.
- the receptacle 3 is also closed by a further separate door, which is arranged in the width direction (x direction) adjacent to the door 4 and in the height direction (y direction) at the same height thereto.
- This further door in the embodiment is a door device 5. It is composed of at least two separate doors.
- the door device 5 comprises a storage space 11, which is formed between the doors. In the storage space 11 at least one door tray 6 is formed, which in particular is configured for receiving bottles.
- the household cooling appliance 1 comprises a further receptacle 7 for food items, which is separate therefrom and can be a freezer compartment.
- the further receptacle 7 is closable by a door 8 that is separate therefrom.
- This door 8 can be a front wall of a drawer, which can be pushed in and drawn out in the linear direction and thus in the depth direction (z-direction).
- the doors 4 and 8 as well as the door device 5 are arranged in the same plane relative to each other and represent front side visible components or outer components of the household cooling appliance 1.
- the doors 4 and 8 as well as the door device 5 are operable independently of each other.
- the door 4 and the door device 5 can be opened or only one of the two components.
- the door 4 and the door device 5 each are pivotable about vertical axes.
- a household cooling appliance 1 in which only the receptacle 3 is present. Same can then also be closed by the door 4 and the door device 5. In a further embodiment it may also be envisaged that then one receptacle 3 is only closed by a door device 5 and the door 4 is not present. Equally, an embodiment with the receptacles 3 and 7 can be envisaged, in which in contrast to Fig. 1 the receptacle 3 is closable only by the door device 5.
- This door device 5 comprises, as this is also shown in Fig. 2 , in particular a inner door 9 and moreover a outer door 10 thereto.
- the two doors 9 and 10 each are individual objective components, which in particular are pivotable about a common vertical axis.
- the two doors 9 and 10 can be pivoted also independently of each other and thus individually.
- the outer door 10 in this connection represents the front side component and in the closed state covers the inner door 9 that lies behind it in the depth direction. If the two doors 9 and 10 are coupled with each other they are also in this regard motion-coupled. This means that the entire door device 5 can then be jointly pivoted about a single vertical axis. Thereby, access is also provided to the receptacle 3.
- This storage space 11 thus is formed in the door device 5 itself. It may for instance be configured as bottle storage space.

- these couple bars 58 are configured to project from the rear side 56. It may be envisaged, as this is shown in Fig. 8 , that in a direction perpendicular to this rear side 56 the couple bars 58 have different dimensions. For instance a couple bar 58 that is further spaced apart from the suspension rib 55 towards the bottom can extend with a larger length away from the rear side 56 than a couple bar 58 arranged in the height direction above it.
- a couple bar 58 that is further spaced apart from the suspension rib 55 towards the bottom can extend with a larger length away from the rear side 56 than a couple bar 58 arranged in the height direction above it.
