Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a balcony glazing arrangement
  • a balcony glazing arrangement comprising a first suspension carrier displaceable along an upper horizontal guide rail, a window pane pivotably connected to said suspension carrier, wherein said window pane is horizontally displaceable along said guide rail and pivotable about a vertical pivot axis between a closed setting, in which the window pane extends along said upper guide rail, and an open setting, in which the window pane is pivoted away from said guide rail, a first magnetic coupling part arranged on said first suspension carrier for coupling of said window pane to a second suspension carrier of the balcony glazing arrangement, a second magnetic coupling part arranged on said second suspension carrier and level with the first magnetic coupling part, said magnetic coupling parts being arranged to maintain the window pane connected to said second suspension carrier when said window pane is situated in said open setting, and a magnet separating device arranged to at least partly disconnect said magnetic coupling parts from each other, by creating an air gap therebetween, when said window pane is pivoted from its open setting into its closed setting, where
  • the present invention also relates to a balcony comprising such a balcony glazing arrangement.
  • WO 2016/003353 A1 describes a balcony glazing arrangement comprising a window pane having a transport member.
  • the transport member is arranged to transport magnetic coupling parts in relation to each other.
  • Document US 2011/0094161 A1 describes a sliding door structure having sliding doors and pivoting doors.
  • a mutual attraction device is connected between a sliding panel and a frame with a first mutual attraction part connected to the frame and a second mutual attraction part connected to the sliding panel.
  • a fulcrum is utilized for tilting the sliding panel whenever the first mutual attraction part engages the second mutual attraction part.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a balcony glazing arrangement that is easy to mount.
  • a balcony glazing arrangement comprising a first suspension carrier displaceable along an upper horizontal guide rail, a window pane pivotably connected to said suspension carrier, wherein said window pane is horizontally displaceable along said guide rail and pivotable about a vertical pivot axis between a closed setting, in which the window pane extends along said upper guide rail, and an open setting, in which the window pane is pivoted away from said guide rail, a first magnetic coupling part arranged on said first suspension carrier for coupling of said window pane to a second suspension carrier of the balcony glazing arrangement, a second magnetic coupling part arranged on said second suspension carrier and level with the first magnetic coupling part, said magnetic coupling parts being arranged to maintain the window pane connected to said second suspension carrier when said window pane is situated in said open setting, and a magnet separating device arranged to at least partly disconnect said magnetic coupling parts from each other, by creating an air gap therebetween, when said window pane is pivoted from its open setting into its closed setting, wherein said magnet separating device comprises a
  • the magnetic coupling parts When the magnetic coupling parts are separated in relation to one another by the magnet separating device, the attraction between them is reduced, which considerably facilitates horizontal displacement of the window pane in its closed setting. Hence, a user does not need to pull or dislodge the magnetic coupling parts away from one another in order to be able to displace the window pane when it is situated in its closed setting, since the magnetic separating member moves them in relation to one another when the window pane is pivoted into its closed setting.
  • the magnetic coupling parts together form a coupling arrangement which is arranged to keep the magnetic coupling parts coupled to one another when the window pane is pivoted away from the guide rail, i.e. when the window pane is situated in a pivoted position.
  • a balcony glazing arrangement which is designed in this way allows very easy and robust pivoting into the closed setting, since the first magnetic coupling part, in the course of the pivoting, can be coupled together with the second magnetic coupling part.
  • the suspension carrier of the window pane can thus be temporarily "fixed", for example to the suspension carrier of a second window pane arranged beside the window pane, or to a fixed-mounted frame part, when it is pivoted away from the guide rail, thereby helping to provide smooth and reliable pivoting of the window pane from the closed setting into the open setting.
  • the size of this air gap may be preset by adjusting the adjustable member upon installation of the balcony glazing arrangement.
  • a desired attraction force between the coupling parts in a closed setting may thus be achieved.
  • Easy and accurate adjustment of the air gap between the magnetic coupling parts, when they are situated in an at least partly disconnected position is provided, since a member, such as a part of the magnet separating device, and/or a support member arranged to cooperate with the magnet separating device, is adjustable.
  • the balcony glazing arrangement may thus be installed in an easy and fast manner. A flexible solution that is easy to mount is thus provided. Furthermore, since adjustment(s) are enabled, less demanding machining tolerances of individual parts may be required.
  • said adjustable member is situated on said second suspension carrier of the balcony glazing arrangement.
  • said adjustable member form part of said second suspension carrier.
  • At least one member of said second suspension carrier is adjustable.
  • At least one member of said magnet separating device is adjustable.
  • At least one member of said second suspension carrier and at least one member of said magnet separating device are adjustable.
  • said rotatable member is a plate.
  • said linearly displaceable member is a plunger
  • said air gap is at least 0,5 mm at any location between the magnetic coupling parts.
  • said air gap is uniform.
  • the length of the air gap between the coupling parts is thus constant.
  • the length of said uniform air gap is at least 0,5 mm.
  • the coupling parts are thus arranged to move in parallel relative to each other.
  • the magnet separating device is arranged to completely separate said magnetic coupling parts from each other.
  • the magnet separating device is thus arranged to disconnect said coupling parts from each other to such an extent that they are no longer in contact with each other when the window pane is situated in the closed setting.
  • the remaining attraction force is however significantly reduced compared to the attraction force present when the window pane is situated in the open setting, i.e. when the coupling parts are connected to each other.
  • the magnet separating device is arranged to completely disconnect said magnetic coupling parts from each other.
  • the magnet separating device is thus arranged to disconnect said coupling parts from each other to such an extent that there is no attraction force at all between the coupling parts when the window pane is situated in the closed setting. Another object is to provide an improved balcony.
  • a balcony which has a balcony glazing arrangement on at least one balcony side and which is characterized in that the balcony glazing arrangement is a balcony glazing arrangement according to the present invention.
  • Fig. 1 illustrates a balcony glazing arrangement 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • the balcony glazing arrangement 1 which is intended for use in the installation of the front side of a balcony, comprises an upper 3 and a lower 5 horizontal guide rail.
  • the upper guide rail 3 supports a plurality of - in the here shown example three - vertical window panes 7, 9, and 11 arranged side by side, which are horizontally displaceable along the guide rails 3, 5 and pivotable between a closed setting, in which the window pane extends along the guide rails 3, 5 and an open setting, in which the window pane is pivoted away from the guide rails 3, 5.
  • the first 7 and the second window panes 7, 9 are situated in their respective open settings and the third window pane 11 is situated in its closed setting.
  • a window pane When a window pane is in its closed setting, it can be displaced along the guide rails 3, 5.
  • Each window pane 7, 9, 11 is thus horizontally displaceable along a track.
  • each window pane 7, 9, 11 is suspended from the upper guide rail 3.
  • each window pane 7, 9, 11 is provided with a suspension carrier 13, 15, and 17 respectively, which is disposed near to the, with respect to fig. 1 , left side edge 19 of the window pane and displaceable along the upper guide rail 3.
  • Each window pane 7, 9, 11 is thus supported from above by means of a respective suspension carrier 13, 15, 17, respectively.
  • Each suspension carrier 13, 15, 17 is provided with four suspension wheels 21, illustrated in Fig. 2a , which are guided in the upper guide rail 3.
  • Each window pane 7, 9, 11 is further provided with a guide trolley 23, 25 and 27 respectively, which is disposed near to the, with respect to fig. 1 , left side edge 19 of the window pane and guided in the lower rail 5.
  • each window pane 7, 9, 11 is mounted pivotably about a vertical pivot axis S placed on one vertical side edge 19 of the window pane.
  • the pivot axis S of each of the window panes 7, 9, 11 is defined in this embodiment by an upper and a lower pivot pin, which is mounted in the suspension carrier and the guide trolley respectively.
  • the pivot axis S of the third window pane 11 is thus defined in this embodiment by an upper pivot pin 29, which is mounted in the suspension carrier 17 and a lower pivot pin (not shown) which is mounted in the guide trolley 27 of the window pane 11.
  • Each window pane 7, 9, 11 is thus pivotable between a closed setting, in which the window pane extends along the guide rails 3, 5 and an open setting, in which the window pane is pivoted away from the guide rails 3, 5.
  • the suspension carrier 15 of the second window pane 9 is provided with a first magnetic coupling part 31 comprising two magnets 33, each of which is secured to a body 35 of the second suspension carrier 15.
  • the suspension carrier 17 of the third window pane 11 is provided with a second magnetic coupling part 37 comprising two magnets 39, each of which is secured to a support member 41 of the third suspension carrier 17.
  • the magnets 35 of the first magnetic coupling part 31 are arranged to cooperate with the magnets 39 of the second magnetic coupling part 37.
  • Fig. 2a and fig. 3a show the second and the third window pane 9 and 11, respectively, in an open setting.
  • the first magnetic coupling part 31, i.e. the one situated on the second suspension carrier 15 is coupled together with the second magnetic coupling part 37, i.e. the one situated on the third suspension carrier 17.
  • the two magnetic coupling parts 31, 37 together form a magnetic coupling, which couples together the suspension carrier 15 of the second window pane 9 with the suspension carrier 17 of the third window pane 11 in a very robust manner.
  • Each suspension carrier 13, 15, 17 is provided with a magnet separating device arranged to cooperate with a support member of another suspension carrier.
  • the third suspension carrier 17 is thus provided with a magnet separating device 43 arranged to cooperate with a support member, which is formed by an adjustment screw 45 mounted to the body 35 of the second suspension carrier 15.
  • the magnet separating device 43 of the third suspension carrier 17 comprises a rotatable member, in the form of a rotatable plate 47, and a linearly displaceable member in the form of a plunger 49.
  • the plunger 49 is received in a through hole in the suspension carrier body 41 and is free to move linearly in a direction toward the head 51 of the support member 45.
  • the rotatable plate 47 has a protruding portion 47a which is arranged at a distance from the pivot axis S and level with the plunger 49.
  • the protruding portion 47a is configured to come into contact with the plunger 49 and push it in a direction away from the pivot axis S and toward the support member 45 of the second suspension carrier 15.
  • the rotatable separating member 47 of the magnet separating arrangement 43 is arranged to rotate together with the window pane 11 about the pivot axis S as the window pane 11 is rotated, as illustrated by arrows A and B in fig. 3a .
  • the protruding portion 47a pushes the plunger 49 against the support member 45, as illustrated by arrow C, which causes the third suspension carrier 17 to move in a direction away from the second suspension carrier 15, as illustrated by arrows D in Fig, whereupon a gap D1 is formed between the magnets 33, 39 of the magnetic coupling parts 31, 37.
  • the magnetic attraction force between the magnetic coupling parts 31, 37 is removed or at least reduced, so that subsequent horizontal displacement of the window pane 11 in a direction away from the second window pane 9 is facilitated.
  • the magnet separating device 43 upon rotation of the window pane 11 to its closed setting, the magnet separating device 43 at least partly disconnects the magnetic coupling portions 31, 37 of the second and third suspension carriers 15, 17 from each other.
  • the third window pane 11 can be easily displaced along the guide rails 3 and 5.
  • a window pane of the balcony glazing 1 can thus be pivoted in an easy and robust manner from its open into its closed setting and easily displaced along the guide rails in its closed setting.
  • the third window pane 11 When the third window pane 11 is in its closed position, there may be an attraction force between the magnets 33 of the first magnetic coupling part 37 and the magnets 39 of the second magnetic coupling part 37. However, this attraction force is significantly lower than the attraction force between the magnets when they are in full contact with each other. Hence, although there may be a remaining attraction force between the magnets, subsequent displacement of the third window pane 11 is facilitated to a great extent. Also, in the closed setting, the support member 45 of the second suspension carrier 15 prevents the magnetic coupling parts 31, 37 from coming into contact with each other.
  • the support member which is formed by the screw head 51 of the adjustment screw 45, will now be further described.
  • the adjustment screw 45 is received in a threaded hole in the suspension carrier body 35. Thereby, the position of the screw head 51 ( Fig. 2b ) in the longitudinal direction of the screw 45 can easily be adjusted.
  • the adjustment screw 45 By turning the adjustment screw 45, as illustrated by arrows E, the position of the screw head 51 relative the surfaces of the fixed magnets 33, seen in the longitudinal direction of the screw 45, can thus be adjusted, as illustrated by arrows F.
  • the adjustment screw 45 By turning the adjustment screw 45 in one direction, the screw head 51 is displaced in a direction away from the surfaces of the fixed magnets 33, as seen in the longitudinal direction of the adjustment screw 45, and by turning the adjustment screw in the other direction the screw head 51 is thus displaced in a direction toward the surfaces of the magnets 33 as seen in the longitudinal direction of the adjustment screw 45.
  • the adjustment screw 45 enables presetting of the air gap D1, illustrated in Fig. 3b , that is created between two suspension carriers when disconnected from each other.
  • a uniform air gap i.e. an air gap having a constant length between the coupling parts, is thus created.
  • a predetermined gap may thus be preset in an easy manner upon installation of the balcony glazing arrangement.
  • Fig. 5 illustrates a balcony glazing arrangement according to an alternative embodiment of the present invention.

  • the adjustment screw 145 By turning the adjustment screw 145 in one direction, the second part 150, and the protruding portion 150a which form part thereof, of the magnet separating member 147 is displaced in a direction away from the first part 148 of the magnet separating member 147, and by turning the adjustment screw 145 in the other direction, the second part 150 is displaced in a direction toward the first part 148 of the magnet separating member 147.
  • the adjustment screw 145 enables presetting of the air gap that is created between two suspension carriers when disconnected from each other.
  • a protruding portion 150a of the magnet separating member 147 is adjustable.
  • Figs. 6a-b illustrate a situation in which a second window pane 109 and a third window pane 111 of a balcony glazing arrangement are situated in their open settings, and, hence, coupled to each other by means of magnetic coupling parts 131, 137.
  • the magnet separating device is thus arranged to, when a window pane is pivoted into its closed setting, change the position of the magnetic coupling parts in relation to one another, which can be done by moving the magnetic coupling parts apart, as has been described above with reference to figs 2a-b and figs 6a-b .
