Description

The present invention relates to a blindstitch sewing machine, namely a two-thread lockstitch blindstitch sewing machine, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

The blind stitch sewing machine according to the invention is used to create a blind stitch that connects a sewing material formed from at least two sewing materials with one another in such a way that the seam is not visible on the upper side, ie the side of the sewing material that is visible from the outside. This requires that the needle used for the seam does not pierce the fabric to the top of the fabric. Accordingly, a curved needle is used to create a blind stitch seam. The blind stitch technique has a very long tradition, as is the state of the art according to GB 02771 A AD 1914 and GB 121 702 A indicates. Also the EP 1 182 287 A2 shows a blind stitch sewing device. However, this prior art involves single-thread chainstitch blindstitch sewing machines.

The material to be sewn has at least two sewing materials, namely an upper material and at least one lower material, with an inner lining fabric being sewn on blindly as part of the textile outer clothing, for example. An additional label to be sewn on, for example, can be considered as a further sub-material.

When used for seat covers in vehicle seats, the material is formed from an upper material, for example leather, which is coated with a foam layer as the lower material.

A cover tacking element is to be sewn onto this foam layer with a blind stitch seam without piercing the upper material layer, which is made in particular of leather, and serves to permanently connect the cover of the vehicle seat to the seat structure of the vehicle seat.

The use of single-thread chainstitch blindstitch sewing machines has the major disadvantage that this seam dissolves completely again, for example if the thread breaks, so that the seam then no longer exists. The use of this sewing technique for vehicle seat covers has therefore not proven itself. A two-thread lockstitch blindstitch seam does not have this disadvantage. Therefore, the use of two-thread lockstitch blindstitch sewing machines is required for this application.

Such machines have been known for many decades. Today's requirements for the use of these machines include the controlled possibility of thread cutting of the two threads, although although such sewing machines have existed for many decades, it has not yet been possible to implement appropriate thread cutters for this type of sewing machine.

This is also documented by the state of the art: The DE 20 2016 104 320 U1 and the DE 10 2007 045 598 A1 show thread trimmers in lockstitch sewing machines, but these have the classic design with upper thread and lower thread, with a straight needle piercing the material to be sewn for each stitch formation. These sewing machines are therefore unusable for the purpose mentioned above. the U.S. 4,054,099A shows a thread cutter, but for a single-thread chainstitch blindstitch sewing machine.

The present invention is therefore based on the object of creating a thread trimmer for a blindstitch sewing machine in the form of a two-thread double lockstitch blindstitch sewing machine that allows the two threads to be cut off in a controlled manner, with the previously existing mechanical design for producing the double lockstitch blindstitch being essentially retained target.

  • with a thread lever, which specifies the required length of the needle thread, which is required for each revolution of a needle thread loop around the bobbin case, and which retracts this specified thread length for a thread tightening after each revolution of the needle thread loop,
  • with a thread tensioning device for the needle thread,
  • with a thread tension device for the bobbin thread, and
  • with a throat plate having an upper side and a lower side, wherein the material to be sewn and the fabric bender are essentially located on the lower side of the throat plate, while the looper and the curved needle are located on the upper side of the throat plate.

The present invention is characterized in that a thread cutter is provided in a two-thread lockstitch blindstitch sewing machine, which has a thread catcher which is able and set up to take hold of both the needle thread and the bobbin thread and feed them to a cutting device.

This satisfies a need that has existed for decades to create a thread cutter for two-thread double lockstitch blindstitch sewing machines, with which the two threads can be cut off in a controlled manner, making such two-thread double lockstitch blindstitch sewing machines particularly suitable for use in automated mass production.

By using the thread cutter according to the invention, the sewing process can advantageously also be significantly shortened in terms of time, because the sewing person no longer has to cut the threads himself, which takes up a considerable amount of time.

In addition, it can be ensured that when the next part is sewn on, there is sufficient thread to carry out this sewing on successfully. This also increases the productivity of the sewing process.

On the other hand, the length of the bobbin thread in particular can be reduced to a minimum, which results in the advantage of lower consumption of the bobbin thread and thus also an increase in productivity, because the bobbin thread only has to be replaced after a longer time interval.

Advantageously, the thread catcher dips at least partially into a gripper space, which extends in the direction of rotation of the gripper between a gripper tip and a gripper back of the gripper in order to grip the needle thread and the bobbin thread there. This enables the two threads to be gripped in a very space-saving and effective manner.

Furthermore, it is advantageous that the movement of the thread catcher is synchronized with the movement of the gripper in such a way that collisions between the thread catcher and the gripper are ruled out. This ensures safe operation of the thread trimmer.

Safe operation of the thread catcher also ensures that the synchronization between the gripper movement and thread catcher movement by a cam mechanism is ensured, so that the thread cutting process can advantageously be carried out without stopping the gripper movement.

Advantageously, the thread catcher has catching devices that are capable of grasping both the needle and the bobbin thread by immersing the thread catcher into the hook space by subsequently withdrawing the thread catcher from the hook space in the form of thread loops and in the direction of the cutting device pull out of the looper space.

The thread catcher advantageously has a catch hook for the bobbin thread, a catch hook for the front run of the needle thread, a thread channel and a cutting edge, and a front thread guide for the needle thread and bobbin thread. A very effective configuration of the thread catcher is thus achieved, with the thread catcher participating in the cutting of the two threads itself by means of the cutting edge. In this embodiment, the thread catcher can also be referred to as a thread pulling knife .

It is also advantageous that the movement of the thread catcher of the thread cutter is controlled by means of a scanning device which, for the process of thread cutting, can be brought into contact with a control cam rotating synchronously with the gripper, preferably by means of a scanning roller, which controls the movement of the thread catcher and with which Synchronized gripper movement. This creates a firm mechanical connection and controls the movement of the thread catcher in such a way that collisions between the thread catcher and the gripper can be reliably avoided.

In order to achieve the additional installation of the thread trimmer according to the invention in a two-thread double lockstitch blindstitch sewing machine without significant changes to the components required for stitch production, the external circumference of the control cam placed on the hook shaft should not be larger than the hook. Therefore, the scanning device advantageously also has a transmission between the thread catcher and the control cam, which is designed as an intermediate lever that can be pivoted about an axis of rotation with a scanning roller that is in contact can be brought to the control cam revolving synchronously with the gripper and in turn can be brought into contact with the follower roller of the thread catcher.

Advantageously, the thread catcher performs a rapid retraction movement, which is generated by a steep rise curve section in the control cam. The thread catcher is moved out of the gripper area in the shortest possible time by this steep rise curve section and a collision with the approaching gripper tip is avoided.

Furthermore, it is advantageous that the thread catcher performs a rapid retraction movement in that it is withdrawn from the peripheral area of the gripper in a period of time that is less than the time that the gripper needs for a rotation angle of essentially 40°, whereby a Collision with the hook tip is avoided.

Furthermore, it is also advantageous that the movement of the thread catcher in the direction of a counter knife of the cutting device is slowed down or brought to a standstill after the rapid retraction movement but before the cutting process, in order to delay the time of the cutting process until the thread puller or thread lever is in the vicinity has reached its top dead center so that the needle thread does not become too short. This is the only way to achieve a safe seam beginning for the next seam.

In this context, it is advantageous that the slowed movement of the thread catcher takes place through a detent position in the cam, which is formed by a cam section of the cam that has a substantially constant cam diameter. As a result, a movement of the thread catcher is essentially or completely prevented during the rotation of the control cam together with the gripper.

The thread catcher is advantageously designed in an arc shape and executes a pivoting movement about an axis of rotation. In alternative configurations, the thread catcher can also be designed in a straight line and performs a substantially linear movement.

It is also advantageous that the thread catcher is designed as a thread-pulling knife, with a cutting edge for both the needle thread and the bobbin thread, which, when the thread catcher is retracted, moves past a counter-knife of the cutting device, causing the two threads to be severed.

Another advantage is that the length of the bobbin thread, measured from the bobbin case after cutting, is at least 20 mm and the length of the needle thread, measured from the needle when the needle lever is in its top dead center position, is at least 45 mm. This ensures that sewing is guaranteed in a next sewing process. For example, there is no risk of the needle thread being pulled out of the eyelet of the bent needle. There is also the advantage that the bobbin thread is securely gripped when it is first pierced.

Furthermore, it is advantageous that a front thread guide is preferably designed in the form of a notch in the upper side of the thread catcher or thread-pulling knife in the area of the tip and the cutting edge of the thread catcher. The two threads to be cut are thus reliably fed to the cutting edge and a corresponding cutting of both threads is ensured when the thread catcher moves past the counter-knife.

Furthermore, it is advantageous that the bobbin case has a bobbin thread tensioning spring on its periphery, which is provided with an indentation for receiving the bobbin thread, the indentation in the upper ( 7 ) or front (in the installed position) section of the tension spring is arranged. This enables the bobbin thread to be securely gripped by the thread catcher because the bobbin thread is then safely brought to the front side of the thread catcher and can thus be caught by the catch hook.

Advantageously, the thread tension of the needle thread is released at the latest from the last third of the rapid retraction movement of the thread catcher, as a result of which the thread catcher is able to draw enough needle thread with a sufficiently small force to pull from a needle thread supply. In this case, a sufficiently small force means that the needle thread is pulled along without great tensile force, which prevents the needle thread from being torn off.

The process of thread trimming is required at the end of the created seam. The control cam, which is attached to the shaft of the hook and rotates with it, must be able to rotate freely and without contact with the thread catcher during sewing. In order to put the cutting process into action, the thread catcher is advantageously pressed against the cam with at least one actuator for the cutting process and its movement is controlled according to the contour of the cam.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the thread catcher for the thread trimming process is activated by means of a first actuator in the form of a first drive cylinder via a first piston and by means of a second actuator in the form of a second drive cylinder via a second piston in such a way that the thread catcher is attached to the Control curve is pressed and its movement is controlled according to the contour of the control curve.

The drive cylinders can be pneumatic cylinders, for example, with one of the two drive cylinders being used to place the thread catcher against the control cam with a sufficiently small force via the two scanning rollers and the other drive cylinder being used to push the thread catcher past the counter-knife from its rest position into its operating position .

In the figures, the same elements of the blind stitch sewing machine according to the invention are denoted by the same reference numbers.

Antriebszahnrad 13 und Antriebszahnrad 15 bilden ein Antriebsgetriebe 11.In 1 an embodiment of the two-thread blindstitch double-lockstitch blindstitch sewing machine 1 according to the invention is shown in a partially sectioned side view. The blind stitch sewing machine 1 has a sewing machine housing 3 which includes a sewing machine housing upper arm 4, a sewing machine housing fabric support arm 6 and a sewing head 5 which is attached to the sewing machine housing upper arm 4 is attached. A main shaft 9 driven by a drive motor 7 extends along the upper arm 4 and supports a drive gear 13 outside the upper arm 4 which meshes with a drive gear 15 of the sewing head 5 and is adapted to drive a drive shaft 14 of the sewing head 5 . Drive gear 13 and drive gear 15 form a drive gear 11.

The main shaft 9 is connected via a toothed belt 37 to a material flexor shaft 35 which serves to drive a material flexor 12 . As is well known in the art of blindstitching, the depth of penetration of the bent needle 10 into the suture material can be adjusted by adjusting the top dead center position of the fabric bender.

The drive shaft 14 of the sewing head 5 serves to drive a needle lever 25 on which a curved needle 10 ( 9 ) is mounted by means of a needle holder 27. The needle lever 25 is mounted pivotably about a needle lever axis 26, the rotational movement of the drive shaft 14 of the sewing head 5 being converted into a reciprocating movement of the needle lever 25 via an eccentric 19 by means of a connecting rod 21 which is connected to the needle lever 25. The connecting rod 21 is mounted on the eccentric 19 by means of a rotary bearing 22 .

The main shaft 9 also serves to drive a gripper 31, with the power being transmitted via a gear wheel 17 on the drive shaft 14. For reasons of clarity and because this is state of the art, the gripper drive is not shown in detail. In principle, in order to produce a lockstitch seam, the gripper 31 rotates twice about its axis of rotation for each complete needle stroke.

How to continue 1 visible, a cover 29 is provided for the gripper drive. To adjust the thread tension of the needle thread, a thread tensioning device 49 is provided, with which the thread tension can be adjusted or released again.

The blind stitch sewing machine 1 also has a sewing material transport device 45, the task of which is to transport the sewing material or sewing material further by a preselected stitch length after each stitch that is produced. This can vary depending on your preference take place in the sewing direction or in the opposite direction. If a created seam is overstitched over a certain section in the opposite direction, a particularly good locking of the seam at the seam end is achieved. The beginning of the seam can also be locked using the same procedure.

In Fig.2 1, the gripper 31 can be seen more clearly, having a gripper tip 32 and a gripper back 34. FIG. There is a gripper space between the gripper tip 32 and the gripper back. The gripper 31 extends around a bobbin case 36 in which is received a thread spool 33 in which a supply of bobbin thread is received.

The bobbin housing 36 has two projections 56 and 58, between which there is a free space which serves to connect a projection of a gripper bridge 38 ( figure 5 and 9 ) cooperate to prevent the spool housing 36 from rotating. This is because, in order to pull off the bobbin thread from the bobbin 33, which rotates within the bobbin case 36, the exit opening for the bobbin thread in the bobbin case must always be fixed in position. The hook 31 rotates at high speed around the outside of the bobbin housing 36.

Out 2 a thread cutter 61 according to the invention can also be seen. This has a thread catcher 63 which has a curved shape and interacts with a cutting device 67 which has a counter-knife 69 . The thread cutter 61 will be described in more detail below. An actuator 65 or two separate actuators are provided for actuating the thread cutter 61, the two drive cylinders, a first drive cylinder 103 and a second drive cylinder 105, which are acted upon by compressed air via a pneumatic supply 71 for thread cutting.

Reference is now made to 3 . This shows contrary to the view according to 2 , which shows the hook 31 with the thread cutter 61 from the front, a rear view of the hook 31 and the thread cutter 61. The hook is driven by a hook shaft 30 (see also Fig.4 ) driven, according to 3 in front of the rapier 31, in 2 So behind the gripper 31, a cam 87 is provided which is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner on the gripper shaft 30 and thus rotates together with the gripper 31 .

The thread catcher 63 includes a pivoting lever 64 which is mounted pivotably about an axis of rotation 79 . A follower roller 66 is arranged on the pivoting lever 64 laterally next to the axis of rotation 79 , which in turn interacts with a follower roller 83 of an intermediate lever 81 which is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation 85 . The follower roller 83 of the intermediate lever 81 can be brought into contact with the control cam 87 and when following this curve during the rotation of the gripper, its outer contour is transferred to the follower roller 66 and a corresponding pivoting of the thread catcher 63 is produced.

How out 3 As can be seen, the control cam has a specific outer contour, for example with a steeply rising curve section 88. This steeply rising curve section 88 causes the follower roller 83 to move up very quickly and clearly, and thus also the pivoting lever 64 to move up accordingly, as a result of which the thread catcher 63 is pulled back very quickly from the hook space .

The interposition of the intermediate lever 81 with the follower roller 83 between the cam 87 and the follower roller 66 is mainly due to the fact that the thread trimmer 61 has to be designed as small as possible so that the cam 87 does not become so large that it collides with the needle plate 28.

If you fold the representation of 3 forwards about a horizontal axis and rotates it by 180°, one arrives at the perspective view of 4 . In this view, it can be seen that the bobbin case 36 is partially spaced slightly from and within the gripper 31, as shown in FIG 4 the thread catcher 63 is pivoted or immersed in the gripper space and has followed the back of the gripper 34.

The special configuration of the thread catcher 63 is described below. The thread catcher 63 has a tip 99 to which a front section of the thread catcher 63 connects. The thread catcher 63 has a catch hook 89 for the bobbin thread 97 and the front run of the needle thread 93 in the forward movement of the thread catcher 63, a catch hook (91) for the bobbin thread (97) and the front run of the needle thread (93) in the reverse movement, a thread channel (92) and a cutting edge (101), as well as a front thread guide (102) for needle thread and bobbin thread (97). The tip 99 pushes the rear strand of the needle thread loop pulled up by the hook 31 backwards and the front strand forwards, so that the front strand of the needle thread can be caught with the catch hook 91 . Below the catch hook 91 for the needle thread is a thread channel 92 which extends in the direction of the tip 99 and ends in a cutting edge 101 . The cutting edge 101 is used together with a counter-knife 69 of the cutting device 67 to cut both the bobbin winding and the needle thread when the thread catcher 63 on the counter-knife 69 of the cutting device 67 moves back into its rest position.

In figure 5 the thread cutter 61 is shown in a position just before the cutting of both the bobbin thread and the needle thread, the throat plate 28 also being shown with the gripper bridge 38 which prevents the bobbin housing 36 from rotating in position.

In 6 12 shows, on an enlarged scale, the thread cutter 61 in perspective and the loopers 31 in partial view, at a position immediately before the bobbin thread and the needle thread are trimmed. How out 6 As can be seen, both threads run in the area of the tip 99 over a front thread guide 102, which is designed, for example, in the form of a notch. Both the needle thread and the bobbin thread have each formed a thread loop as a result of being pulled out by means of the thread catcher 63 . Are now in this position according to 6 the needle thread and the bobbin thread are separated, so advantageously sufficiently long thread ends remain, which allow problem-free sewing on of the next sewing material.

In 7 the bobbin housing 36, in which the thread bobbin 33 is located, is shown in a perspective view. A thread tensioning device for the bobbin thread is shown at 107, which has an indentation 109 at the front end, which is located in the upper or front area of the thread tensioning device 107 and serves to guide the bobbin thread.

Beide Kolben dienen zur Anlage an den Schwenkhebel 64.In 8 is in addition to the presentation according to figure 5 (however without needle plate and looper bridge and without threads) the thread trimmer 61 is shown, together with an actuator 65, the task of which is to move the thread trimmer 61 from its rest position to its working position, in which it dips into the looper area and the bobbin and catches and pulls out the needle thread. The actuator 65 is divided into two sub-actuators with a first working or drive cylinder 103 and a second working or drive cylinder 105. The first drive cylinder 103 has a first piston 104 and the second drive cylinder 105 has a second piston 106. Both pistons are used to rest against the swivel lever 64.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the first drive cylinder 103 and the second drive cylinder 105 are controlled by means of pneumatics, with 8 a pneumatic supply 71 is shown. The operation of the two drive cylinders 103 and 105 is as follows: the first piston 104 presses the thread cutter 61 downwards so that the follower roller 83 comes into contact with the cam 87 . The second drive cylinder 105 supports the first drive cylinder 103 with a small stroke in order to pivot the thread catcher 63 out of its rest position. If both cylinders 103, 105 are pressurized with compressed air, the thread catcher 63 dives cam-controlled into the gripper area in order to pull out the two threads.

The present invention thus provides a two-thread blindstitch double-lockstitch blindstitch sewing machine which, for the first time, has a thread trimmer capable of safely trimming both bobbin thread and needle thread in a controlled manner, with no significant modification to the components of the sewing machine head to produce the lockstitch blindstitch seam had to be made. This has the great advantage that the constructive design of the components for producing the double lockstitch blindstitch seam, which has been tried and tested for decades, could essentially be retained. The sewing machine according to the invention is outstandingly suitable for use in automated production.
