Definitions

  • the invention relates to a household appliance with a housing, with a suds container which has a substantially cylindrical casing, a front side wall and a rear side wall and is arranged in a swinging manner in the housing of the household appliance, and with at least one counterweight which is connected to the suds container, as well as a method for producing a suds container of such a household appliance.
  • components of a lye container can be designed in such a way that counterweights can be provided in relation to the lye container of a household appliance.
  • components of the lye container are designed in such a way that they have cavities into which concrete can be poured.
  • the components in question must be provided with filling openings for the introduction of the not yet hardened concrete, which leads to components that take up unnecessary space.
  • ballast weights are notoriously attached to the outside walls of lye containers using screws. If concrete is used as ballast weight, cracks often form in the area of the screw connections, as concrete is a relatively brittle material. As a solution to eliminate cracking in concrete, it is proposed that an adhesive bond be made between the surface of the ballast weight and a surface of the lye container.
  • At the EP 601 347 A1 Material used to form at least one counterweight is placed in a plastic shell that is sealed with a membrane.
  • the connection to the plastic lye container is made by providing both the plastic lye container and the plastic shell that contains the counterweight material with the aid of respective matching projection elements from the container and the plastic shell for joining and are finally firmly connected by fusion welding of the plastic material.
  • EN 10 2006 011 734 A1 discloses a household appliance with a suds container which has a cylindrical casing, a front side wall and a rear side wall and is arranged in a swinging manner in the housing of the household appliance.
  • a balancing weight is attached to the suds container, which has at least one partial area which is connected to the suds container by an adhesive.
  • the washing machine has a tub having a plurality of ribs arranged on a first wall of the tub, with a second wall positioned on the ribs opposite the first wall.
  • the first wall, the ribs and the second wall form a plurality of cavities filled with a liquid.
  • a household appliance with a suds container and with at least one balancing weight which is connected to the suds container, the balancing weights of which can be assigned in a space-saving and stable manner.
  • the invention therefore relates to a household appliance with a housing, with a tub, which has a substantially cylindrical casing, a front side wall and a rear side wall and is arranged in a swinging manner in the housing of the household appliance, and with at least one counterweight which is connected to the tub.
  • the casing, the front side wall and/or the rear side wall have honeycomb-like ribs which form individual, outwardly open, spatial structures form.
  • the at least one balancing weight is inserted into one of the spatial structures and secured in one of the spatial structures with a press fit.
  • a press fit is understood to be a force-locking connection between components, whereby the force-locking connection is created due to the geometric dimensions of the components concerned and without any additional aids, ie a clamping connection is created.
  • the invention therefore makes it possible to attach balancing weights in the area of ribbing formed on the lye container, in particular in the area of the front or rear side wall, which is also referred to below as the lid, whereby the ribbing advantageously contributes to the stability of the lye container and is also used to attach the balancing weights.
  • the ribbing which is preferably arranged on the outer wall of the lye container, forms spatial structures that are open on one side and can accommodate balancing weights that fit precisely into these spatial structures, i.e. at least one area of a balancing weight is designed to be congruent in shape with the shape of the spatial structure.
  • the balancing weights are positioned on the suds container, which is arranged to swing in a housing, in such a way that when the household appliance is operating properly, the vibrations caused by the operation are minimized and/or that the suds container assumes a preferred position when the household appliance is set up for operation, the position, in particular a rest position, being determined by the spring-mass system, which is formed by a system comprising the suds container arranged to swing in the housing.
  • such an oscillating system consists of the suds container, a laundry drum arranged to rotate therein, a motor connected to the suds container, and spring elements with which the suds container is at least indirectly connected to the housing of the household washing machine or the household washer-dryer.
  • the position of such an oscillating system is determined by the sum of the forces acting on the system, whereby the positioning of the balancing weights can advantageously coordinate the mass forces acting on the system with the other forces acting on the system, in particular spring forces.
  • the balancing weights influence the oscillating movement of the tub caused by the operation of the household appliance.
  • the sum of the balancing weights used serves to minimize linear deflections of the tub during, for example, a spinning process with laundry unevenly distributed in a drum. A designer or specialist will know how to use these design options so that over-dimensioning can be avoided when using balancing weights.
  • several balancing weights are used in the spatial structures assigned to them, but just one balancing weight could be sufficient to achieve the balance.
  • the at least one balancing weight is incorporated in the front and/or rear side wall.
  • This has the advantage that the ribbing to increase the stability of the side walls is already provided and can be used at the same time to accommodate the balancing weights, whereby the stability requirements do not have to be restricted and the lye container can be manufactured particularly cost-effectively.
  • a balancing weight is particularly advantageous for a balancing weight to be designed to be congruent in shape with the spatial structure and to be secured in the spatial structure with a press fit. This means that additional fastening elements and/or fastening methods can be avoided, which means that the household appliance can be manufactured particularly cost-effectively.
  • a press fit is understood to mean a type of fastening in which the area of a balancing weight inserted into the spatial structure has a geometric excess compared to the geometric dimensions of the spatial structure and, when the balancing weight is inserted, a pressing force is exerted on the inserted area of the balancing weight by the wall of the spatial structure or by the ribs. In other words, the balancing weight is clamped in the spatial structure.
  • a balancing weight is made of a dimensionally stable, pressure-resistant material. This development has the advantage that the pressing force is maintained over the service life of the household appliance.
  • a metal, a metal alloy, concrete and/or a plastic mixture is preferably selected as the material for the balancing weight, whereby in the case of a plastic mixture the mixture is preferably selected such that it has a specific weight which corresponds at least to the specific weight of concrete.
  • a plastic mixture can be provided, for example, by admixtures of metal particles, sand or similar materials which have a higher specific weight than the specific weight of the plastic used.
  • the preferred choice of material makes it possible to create a balancing weight with a high mass which, however, has a small volume. This has the particular advantage that the space required for the vibration of the lye container due to operational reasons is not restricted by the balancing weights.
  • the balancing weight is particularly preferably installed completely in the spatial structure.
  • a balancing weight has a dimensionally stable casing, such as made of plastic, in which there is a cavity into which sand or water can be introduced.
  • This alternative design can also advantageously create a balancing weight with a high mass and a small volume.
  • more cost-effective materials can be used for the balancing weight, especially in comparison to balancing weights made of metal or a metal alloy.
  • the balancing weight can be covered with a plastic film.
  • the plastic film can also advantageously compensate for production-related tolerances.
  • the assignment of the plastic film to the material concrete can be made relatively early in relation to its forming and curing process, since Heat release during the curing process has a positive effect on the precise enclosure of the already dimensionally stable concrete part of the balancing weight.
  • the balancing weight can also be manufactured in smaller dimensions than the spatial structure in which the balancing weight is to be used and then covered with the plastic film in one or more layers.
  • the plastic film covering to consist of two parts that correspond to one another and each have a collar in a connection area, which are connected to one another, in particular welded.
  • This development has the particular advantage that when inserting or by inserting balancing weights designed in this way into the intended spatial structures, the collar formed is deformed, in particular folded over, and a material accumulation is created in the deformed area, which forms the excess required for the press fit.
  • a household appliance as described above preferably also has a laundry drum mounted inside the tub and driven by a motor mounted on the outside of the tub via a belt drive, wherein an axis of the tub coincides with an axis of rotation of the drum and the tub is connected to the housing with at least one spring, wherein the at least one balancing weight is designed and arranged on the tub such that an operational deflection of the tub with the balancing weight is less than a deflection of the tub caused by the same operation without such a balancing weight.
  • a household appliance as previously specified may in particular be a washing machine or a washer-dryer.
  • the lye container can be manufactured particularly easily and inexpensively, since the balancing weights only have to be pressed into the geometrically congruent spatial structures of the lye container. Further manufacturing steps for fastening the balancing weights, such as screwing or welding, can be omitted. It is also advantageous to manufacture the lye container from plastic using an injection molding process, since the ribs required to form the spatial structures can be formed on the lye container in the same process step. In addition, plastic has a certain elasticity, which means that a balancing weight can be easily inserted into the ribbing made of plastic, even if it is oversized, and the required pressing force is still provided after pressing in.
  • the manufacture of the lye container can be limited to the manufacture of a component of the lye container, for example to the manufacture of a front or rear side wall which belongs to the lye container, which in turn is part of a vibrating system, in particular according to one of the preceding items.
  • a prefabricated side wall can be created by first producing a side wall with ribs that can provide spatial structures in a plastic injection molding process, and then pressing balancing weights into the spatial structures in such a way that they are permanently assigned to the side wall by means of a press fit.
  • the component manufactured and pre-assembled in this way is connected to the other components of the lye container. This makes the manufacturing process for the lye container simpler and more cost-effective.
  • the balancing weight is formed by a dimensionally stable body that is at least partially covered with a plastic film.
  • the balancing weight can be made undersized, with the excess required for the press fit being created by the plastic film that at least partially covers the balancing weight.
  • This also enables easy adaptation to the manufacturing tolerances of the balancing weights and/or the spatial structures, for example by using plastic films of different thicknesses or by covering the balancing weight with several layers of plastic film. In order to reduce the amount of material used for the plastic film, the covering can be limited to the area of the balancing weight that surrounds the spatial structure when it is pressed in.
  • the dimensionally stable body can be made, for example, from metal, a metal alloy, concrete and/or a plastic mixture or a dimensionally stable, filled plastic casing.
  • the balancing weight is pressed in by an automatic production machine.
  • the balancing weight can also be automatically fed to the component using a feeding device. It is particularly advantageous if the automatic production machine is designed to simultaneously feed and press in the balancing weight, which makes the production process simpler, faster and more cost-effective.
  • the plastic film covering of the balancing weight is made from two corresponding parts, with a collar being formed on each part, with the two collars of the corresponding parts being connected to one another, in particular welded.
  • the two collars are folded over and form the press connection between the spatial structure and the balancing weight in the relevant spatial structure.

  • An electric motor 5 drives a laundry drum 6, which is usually mounted essentially horizontally within the tub 2, via a belt drive 4. By mounting the laundry drum 6 within the tub 2, there is a common axis 12, which will be discussed below, particularly because of the type of vibrations that occur.
