Definitions
- the present invention relates to a hand-held cut-off machine according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Cut-off machines are hand-held tools with a processing tool that is designed in the form of a rotating cutting disc.
- the main components of a cut-off machine include a motor housing with a drive unit and a boom with a support arm and an arm cover that is attached to the support arm using fastening elements.
- a first end of the support arm is fixed to the motor housing and the spindle is fixed to a second end of the support arm by means of a bearing element.
- the spindle is connected to the drive unit via a transmission device designed as a belt drive.
- DE 103 25 663 A1 discloses such a hand-held power cutter.
- EP 3 173 188 A1 describes a hand-held cut-off machine according to the preamble of claim 1, which can achieve an increased cutting depth.
- the support arm must be as compact and compact in the area of its second end be as filigree as possible.
- a compact and filigree support arm has the disadvantage that the stability and rigidity of the support arm is reduced. Forces that occur when working with the hand-held cut-off grinder on the cut-off wheel are transferred to the support arm via the spindle and its bearing elements. The greater the forces that occur on the cutting disc during machining, the greater the load on the support arm.
- the object of the present invention is to further develop a hand-held cut-off machine such that a compact and filigree support arm can withstand high forces. Damage to the support arm should not occur even with high forces.
- the hand-held cut-off machine is characterized in that a stop element is provided in the arm cover for the spindle, the stop element limiting the movement of the spindle in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation during operation.
- the stop element makes it possible to redirect at least part of the forces that occur into the arm cover and to reduce the load on the support arm in the area of its second end.
- the spindle moves, which is guided by one or more bearing elements in the support arm.
- the higher the forces that occur the greater the movement of the spindle in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the cutting disc, which coincides with the axis of rotation of the spindle.
- the spindle hits the stop element, at least a part of the occurring forces is transmitted from the spindle to the stop element and forwarded from the stop element into the arm cover. Since the arm cover is fastened to the support arm via the fastening elements, the forces are again transmitted from the arm cover to the support arm via the fastening elements.
- the fastening elements are preferably arranged in robustly designed areas of the arm cover and the support arm.
- the spindle stop member may be integral with the arm cover, or formed as a separate insert member fitted into a bearing seat in the arm cover, or as a bearing member fitted into a bearing seat in the arm cover.
- the bearing seat for the separate insert element and the bearing seat for the bearing element are preferably integrated into the arm cover.
- the arm cover is preferably made as a cast part from a metal material. Bearing seats, reinforcement struts and other functional elements can be easily integrated into cast parts.
- the support arm has a first bearing seat and a second bearing seat in the region of the second end, with a first bearing element being arranged in the first bearing seat and a second bearing element being arranged in the second bearing seat.
- the spindle is mounted on the support arm via the first bearing element and the second bearing element, which are arranged at a distance from one another on the support arm.
- the bearing of the spindle via two spaced-apart bearing elements has the advantage over a single bearing element that the tilting moment of the spindle is lower. The greater the distance between the first and second bearing element, the lower the tilting moment of the spindle.
- the arm cover is preferably made of a metal material.
- An arm cover made of a metal material has the advantage over conventional arm covers made of plastics that, due to the higher modulus of elasticity, forces that occur can be passed on by the arm cover without the arm cover being damaged.
- the arm cover is particularly preferably made of a light metal material.
- Aluminum and magnesium, for example, are suitable as light metal materials.
- Light metal materials reduce the weight of the arm cover compared to metal materials such as steel.
- the stop member is in the form of an insert member, the insert member being located in a bearing seat formed in the arm cover.
- the bearing seat in the arm cover is preferably integrated into the arm cover. Wear can be reduced by designing the stop element as an insert element which is fitted into a bearing seat in the arm cover.
- the selection of the materials for the spindle and the insert element can be adapted to one another. The matching of the materials is particularly important since the spindle is moved about an axis of rotation relative to the insert element.
- the stop element is designed in the form of a further bearing element, the further bearing element being arranged in a bearing seat which is formed in the arm cover.
- the bearing seat in the arm cover is preferably integrated into the arm cover. Wear can be reduced by designing the stop element as a further bearing element.
- the choice of materials for the spindle and the additional bearing element can be matched to one another.
- a stop element in the form of a further bearing element, for example a ball bearing has the additional advantage that only small relative movements occur between the spindle and the inside of the ball bearing and wear is further reduced.
- the spindle is mounted in the support arm via the first and second bearing element and in the arm cover via a further bearing element.
- the additional bearing element in the arm cover can derive forces from the support arm via the spindle when the hand-held cut-off machine is in operation as a stop element.
- the first bearing element is particularly preferably designed as a fixed bearing and the further bearing element is designed as a floating bearing for the spindle.
- the design of the additional bearing element in the arm cover as a floating bearing prevents geometric overdetermination for the spindle when it is at rest.
- the further bearing element is fitted into the bearing seat in the arm cover (press fit) and the arm cover can be pushed onto the spindle with the further bearing element.
- the arm cover is then attached to the support arm using the fasteners.

- the term "drive unit” summarizes all drive components that are arranged in the motor housing 14 .
- a drive motor not shown, is arranged in the motor housing 14 and is an internal combustion engine in the exemplary embodiment shown, but can also be an electric motor.
- a centrifugal clutch can be arranged between the drive motor and the belt drive 21, which ensures that the cutting disc 11 does not rotate at low speeds, such as when idling or when starting the hand-held cut-off machine 10; in addition, further transmission components can be arranged between the drive motor and the transmission device 21 .
- the drive motor drives a drive shaft and drive pulley 22 .

Description
The present invention relates to a hand-held cut-off machine according to the preamble of claim 1.
The object of the present invention is to further develop a hand-held cut-off machine such that a compact and filigree support arm can withstand high forces. Damage to the support arm should not occur even with high forces.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of independent claim 1 in the case of the hand-held cut-off machine mentioned at the outset. Advantageous developments are specified in the dependent claims.
According to the invention, the hand-held cut-off machine is characterized in that a stop element is provided in the arm cover for the spindle, the stop element limiting the movement of the spindle in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation during operation. During operation of the hand-held cut-off machine, the stop element makes it possible to redirect at least part of the forces that occur into the arm cover and to reduce the load on the support arm in the area of its second end.
During operation of the hand-held cut-off machine, the spindle moves, which is guided by one or more bearing elements in the support arm. The higher the forces that occur, the greater the movement of the spindle in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the cutting disc, which coincides with the axis of rotation of the spindle. When the spindle hits the stop element, at least a part of the occurring forces is transmitted from the spindle to the stop element and forwarded from the stop element into the arm cover. Since the arm cover is fastened to the support arm via the fastening elements, the forces are again transmitted from the arm cover to the support arm via the fastening elements. The fastening elements are preferably arranged in robustly designed areas of the arm cover and the support arm.
The spindle stop member may be integral with the arm cover, or formed as a separate insert member fitted into a bearing seat in the arm cover, or as a bearing member fitted into a bearing seat in the arm cover. The bearing seat for the separate insert element and the bearing seat for the bearing element are preferably integrated into the arm cover. The arm cover is preferably made as a cast part from a metal material. Bearing seats, reinforcement struts and other functional elements can be easily integrated into cast parts.
In a preferred embodiment, the support arm has a first bearing seat and a second bearing seat in the region of the second end, with a first bearing element being arranged in the first bearing seat and a second bearing element being arranged in the second bearing seat. The spindle is mounted on the support arm via the first bearing element and the second bearing element, which are arranged at a distance from one another on the support arm. The bearing of the spindle via two spaced-apart bearing elements has the advantage over a single bearing element that the tilting moment of the spindle is lower. The greater the distance between the first and second bearing element, the lower the tilting moment of the spindle.
The arm cover is preferably made of a metal material. An arm cover made of a metal material has the advantage over conventional arm covers made of plastics that, due to the higher modulus of elasticity, forces that occur can be passed on by the arm cover without the arm cover being damaged.
The arm cover is particularly preferably made of a light metal material. Aluminum and magnesium, for example, are suitable as light metal materials. Light metal materials reduce the weight of the arm cover compared to metal materials such as steel.
In a preferred embodiment, the stop member is in the form of an insert member, the insert member being located in a bearing seat formed in the arm cover. The bearing seat in the arm cover is preferably integrated into the arm cover. Wear can be reduced by designing the stop element as an insert element which is fitted into a bearing seat in the arm cover. The selection of the materials for the spindle and the insert element can be adapted to one another. The matching of the materials is particularly important since the spindle is moved about an axis of rotation relative to the insert element.
In a further preferred embodiment, the stop element is designed in the form of a further bearing element, the further bearing element being arranged in a bearing seat which is formed in the arm cover. The bearing seat in the arm cover is preferably integrated into the arm cover. Wear can be reduced by designing the stop element as a further bearing element. On the one hand, the choice of materials for the spindle and the additional bearing element can be matched to one another. A stop element in the form of a further bearing element, for example a ball bearing, has the additional advantage that only small relative movements occur between the spindle and the inside of the ball bearing and wear is further reduced.
In a preferred embodiment, the spindle is mounted in the support arm via the first and second bearing element and in the arm cover via a further bearing element. The additional bearing element in the arm cover can derive forces from the support arm via the spindle when the hand-held cut-off machine is in operation as a stop element.
The first bearing element is particularly preferably designed as a fixed bearing and the further bearing element is designed as a floating bearing for the spindle. The design of the additional bearing element in the arm cover as a floating bearing prevents geometric overdetermination for the spindle when it is at rest. The further bearing element is fitted into the bearing seat in the arm cover (press fit) and the arm cover can be pushed onto the spindle with the further bearing element. The arm cover is then attached to the support arm using the fasteners.

The
The drive motor drives a drive shaft and drive
The
The
The use of a metal material for the
During operation of the hand-held cut-off
The
The hand-held cut-off
