In order to be able to perform the physiotherapeutic movement exercises, circulatory training and breathing training necessary for patient mobilization, the patients often have to be moved from a position in the patient bed to the sitting position. Particular attention should be paid to the safety of the patients, since the often weakened, injured or otherwise impaired patients cannot assume a stable sitting position by their own strength. To avoid accidents, the patient must be supported or secured in the sitting position during patient mobilization. From the edge of the bed, many patients can not only be brought into the sitting position. In many cases it is also possible that the patient can be stabilized in a standing position.

In many cases, nursing staff or physiotherapists have to lift the frequently obese patients out of bed and, for example, place them in special, often oversized wheelchairs or the like in order to carry out the mobilizing exercises as well as circulatory and breathing training while sitting with the patient. In addition to these advantages for the patient, the assistant also relieves the nursing staff. Last but not least, the time and effort saved by the staff and the expected faster patient throughput due to the shorter length of stay of the individual patient in the ward are expected to provide financial benefits for the hospital.

In this way, according to the invention, an assistant is created which has a clear, easy-to-use construction method and can also be used in intensive care units.

The assistant according to the invention supports the patient on all sides, insofar as this is necessary in the respective case, and at the same time allows various forms of mobilization of the patient, for example the upper body, arms, legs, shoulders, head, etc.

The invention thus provides a technical aid to enable a patient to be mobilized on the edge of the bed. The assistant can therefore be used both for outpatient care and for early mobilization in intensive care units and for long-term care in nursing homes, in handicapped facilities and in home care. Even in narrow patient rooms the assistant can use the space efficiently, since the seat attached to the assistant can be comfortably positioned in a position at bed height and lying height of the patient by adjusting the height of the seat accordingly and pivoting it into the patient's position .

In emergency and resuscitation situations, no time is lost by repositioning the patient on the floor and / or transferring them back to bed because the patient can be transported back to the bed from the assistant's position.

Advantageous developments of the invention result from the subclaims.
