When putting on a surgical gown, relevant hygiene regulations must be observed. The support of an assistant is regularly required because the coat cannot be closed by the wearer without violating the applicable hygiene regulations. The invention is based on the object of providing a surgical gown which enables the gown to be put on independently without violating relevant hygiene regulations, ie without endangering the sterility of the gown, in emergency situations, under time pressure or when there is temporarily only one person in the operating room. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the further development of the known surgical gowns specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the donning aid can be formed in that a first distance between the first opening and the first lateral edge is greater than a second distance between the second opening and the second lateral edge.

By appropriately aligning the adhesive strips, which come into adhesive contact with one another when a surgical gown according to the invention is put on, it is achieved that no precise positioning of the adhesive strips relative to one another is required in order to ensure that the adhesive strips adhere to one another. In this context, it has proven to be particularly useful if the adhesive strips run perpendicular to one another and/or each have a length of 10 cm or more, preferably 20 cm or more.

In order to provide a particularly large adhesive surface or particularly good adhesion, it has proven to be expedient if the adhesive strips cross each other when the surgical gown is in place so that they enclose two acute angles of approximately 20° to 80° with one another . For this purpose, both adhesive strips can be arranged in the area of the upper edge of the material web in such a way that they form a correspondingly acute angle with the side or upper edge of the material web lock in. The adhesive strips of surgical gowns according to the invention can be designed as hook and eye tapes of a surface fastener (Velcro), as double-sided adhesive tape, as combinations thereof or the like.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the adhesive strips are arranged in the area of the upper edge of the material web, so that the adhesive strips adhere to one another in the shoulder area, upper back area or shoulder girdle of the user.

With a view to making it easier to put on a surgical gown according to the invention without an assistant, it has proven to be particularly useful if, in addition to or as an alternative to the described asymmetric widening of the material web, in the area of the upper half, ie the half facing the upper edge of the material web, or in the shoulder area, upper back area or shoulder girdle of the user of the first side edge, a further dressing aid is provided which forms an extension of the material web. Within the scope of the invention, it is also considered to carry out the tightening aid, which may be provided in addition to an asymmetrical widening of the material web, over the entire surface and to integrate it into the material web. It is also conceivable to design the donning aid with a handle for the fingers (which is temporarily clamped between the fingers) and/or to equip it with an opening in the material web into which a finger can be inserted to make it easier to slip out. The dressing aid can also be designed in such a way that it is inserted into the corresponding sleeve together with the hand holding the dressing aid and remains there.

To put on the surgical gown, it is regularly removed from a package in which it is sterilely packed. In order to comply with the hygiene regulations when putting on the surgical gown independently, it can be provided that the surgical gown is attached to a wall or a fixed part of the building or object, such as a shelf or cupboard, at least at shoulder height, preferably at approximately eye level. When putting on the surgical gown yourself, care must be taken to ensure that it does not fall out of the pack prematurely. When the surgical gown is completely put on and the elastic band of the fastening arrangement is detached from the pack, the push button that can be used to produce a releasable connection can, in a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, be fixed to a transfer card arranged on the material web. For this purpose, the transfer card is expediently equipped with a counterpart to the push button of the fastening arrangement.

As part of a possible embodiment of the invention, it is also considered to assign the adhesive strip a dual function, according to which it can be used on the one hand to close the surgical gown and on the other hand to provide the fastening arrangement. Additionally or alternatively, the fastening arrangement can have self-tightening loops or possibly elastically deformable material sections with a line of weakness, such as a perforation for releasable fastening.

As can be seen from the above explanation of surgical gowns according to the invention, a kit according to the invention has a surgical gown according to the invention contained in a pack. The packaging of a kit according to the invention can be made of cardboard, plastic, composite materials or the like. It can contain a deep-drawn film or an injection-molded workpiece.

In order to ensure trouble-free removal of the surgical gown from the pack, it has proven to be particularly advantageous if the surgical gown or the material web in the pack is folded simply, preferably several times, like a fanfold or accordion. For this purpose, the material web is preferably spread out, with the sleeves being placed downwards or towards the lower edge of the material web on the outer boundary surface of the material web that is facing away from the user in the state of use. The material web can then be folded like a fan, starting from the side edges in the direction of the openings to which the sleeves are attached. The material web can be folded starting from the first lateral edge in a double accordion fold towards the first opening, while the material web is folded starting from the second lateral edge in a single accordion fold towards the opening.

Subsequently, the material web folded in this way in preparation can be folded like a leporello, starting from the lower edge towards the upper edge. The folding can take place along fold lines running approximately parallel to the lower edge, while the folding effected in the first step can take place along fold lines running parallel to the side edges. In the second step, the folding is expediently effected in such a way that the intermediate product subsequently obtained has a length in a direction parallel to the side edges which approximately corresponds to the corresponding dimensions of the pack.

Finally, the intermediate product thus obtained by double folding can be folded in a fanfold manner starting from the first lateral edge in the direction of the second lateral edge in such a way that the dimensions in a direction perpendicular to the lateral edges correspond approximately to the corresponding pack dimensions.

Overall, the folding of the material web is preferably effected in such a way that the outer sides of the folded material web are formed by areas of the inner boundary surface of the material web that faces the user in the state of use.

In order to unfold the material web through the opening of the pack, it is grasped by the donning aid. The last fanfold fold is then unfolded with respect to fold lines running parallel to the side edges. The jacket then unfolds downwards in the direction of gravity so that the distance between the upper edge and the lower edge is created. The pack of a kit according to the invention can have a base and a circumferential wall extending from the base in the direction of an opening, the wall having at least one indentation, preferably designed as a circumferential groove, for receiving a fixing area of a holder for the pack. The spacers in turn can be fixed to the wall with a common fixing arrangement, so that a receptacle for the pack is formed by the wall, spacer and frame, in which the pack is held in a form-fitting manner by receiving the fixing area in the indentation.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the holder is assigned a support on which the holder can be fixed at a desired height. The removal opening of the pack held in the holder can therefore be selected in a user-specific manner. The carrier can be part of a carrier system that already exists in the operating room area.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the material web can be formed from a so-called SMMS (spunbond-meltblown-meltblown-spunbond) material. The material consists of four layers, each preferably made of thermally bonded polypropylene. The "spunbond" layers have the appearance of a textile product and give the material web a wearing comfort that is required during long operations. In addition, the material can be treated hydrophobically to ensure sufficient protection against liquids such as blood. The main function of the meltblown layer is a filter function. It protects the user from bacteria and small particles. The fine structure of these layers allows air exchange and moisture transfer towards the “spunbond” layers.

In another embodiment of the invention, the material web consists of consolidated wood pulp and a polyester fleece that is solidified by means of water jets. The surgical gown according to the invention is designed asymmetrically in such a way that the distance between the first opening 22 and the first lateral edge 12 is greater than the distance between the second opening 24 and the second lateral edge 14. The pack 200 can be designed overall as a deep-drawn plastic pack with a film cover that can be peeled off.

Claims (30)

1. A surgical gown comprising: a material web (10) delimited by a first lateral edge (12) extending in an approximately rectilinear manner and a second lateral edge (14) preferably extending approximately parallel to the first lateral edge, and by an upper edge (16) which connects the two lateral edges to each other and a lower edge (18) which connects the lateral edges to each other; a first sleeve starting from a first opening (22) in the material web (10) and applied to the material web (10); and a second sleeve starting from a second opening (24) in the material web (10) and applied to the material web (10), wherein the first opening (22) is arranged between the first lateral edge (12) and the second opening (24) and the openings (22, 24) are arranged closer to the upper edge (16) than the lower edge (18), wherein a fitting aid forming an extension to the material web is formed at least in the area of the top half of at least one lateral edge that is adjacent to the upper edge (18), characterised in that a fastening arrangement (50) which can be used to produce a detachable fastening to a packaging (100) of the surgical gown is provided on the material web (10) in the area of the upper end of the second lateral edge (14).
2. The surgical gown according to claim 1, characterised in that, in order to create the fitting aid, a first distance between the first opening (22) and the first lateral edge (12) is greater than a second distance between the second opening (24) and the second lateral edge (14).
3. The surgical gown according to claim 2, characterised in that the ratio between the first distance and the second distance is 1.2 or more, preferably 1.4 or more and/or less than 2.
4. The surgical gown according to claim 2 or 3, characterised in that the ratio between the first distance and the distance between the openings (22, 24) is greater than 1.2, preferably greater than 1.4 and/or less than 4, in particular less than 3.

The surgical gown according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a first adhesive strip (44) is arranged on a first delimiting surface of the material web (10), which preferably faces away from the user when the gown is in use, between the first lateral edge (12) and the first opening (22), and a second adhesive strip (42) is arranged in the area of a second delimiting surface of the material web (10), which is opposite the first delimiting surface and preferably faces towards the user when the gown is in use, in the area of the second lateral edge (14), wherein at least parts of the adhesive strips come to overlap each other when the surgical gown is put on.
6. The surgical gown according to claim 5, characterised in that, when the surgical gown is being worn, the adhesive strips intersect such that they form an angle of 30° to 150°, preferably approximately 90°.
7. The surgical gown according to claim 5, characterised in that, when the surgical gown is being worn, the adhesive strips intersect such that they form two acute angles of approximately 20° to 80° each.
8. The surgical gown according to claim 5, characterised in that the adhesive strips (42, 44) are arranged in the area of the upper edge (16).
9. The surgical gown according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the fitting aid (30) has a band fastened to the material web (10) in the area of the upper end of the first lateral edge (12).
10. The surgical gown according to claim 9, characterised in that the band is fastened to the material web (10) at its end facing away from the upper end of the material web in the middle section of the first lateral edge (12).
11. The surgical gown according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the fastening arrangement (50) has a band, at least part of which is preferably elastic and which is preferably fitted with a press-stud.
12. The surgical gown according to claim 1, characterised in that the band of the fastening arrangement has a fastening element such as a press-stud, which is designed to detachably fasten the band, in the area of the upper edge of the material web, and the material web is fitted with a counterpart to the fastening element in the area of the upper edge.
13. The surgical gown according to claim 12, characterised in that the band between the packaging and the fastening element is made at least in part from an elastic material.
14. The surgical gown according to claim 13, characterised by an elongation limiter for the band, which is made at least in part from an elastic material.
15. The surgical gown according to claim 14, characterised in that the elongation limiter includes a band made from a material of lower elasticity extending between the fastening element and the packaging, the length of which band is greater than the length of the band made at least in part from the elastic material.
16. The surgical gown according to one of claims 12 to 15, characterised in that the band starts from the fastening element on the side facing away from the packaging and extends towards a transfer card.
17. The surgical gown according to claim 16, characterised in that the transfer card is detachably attached to a waist cord of the surgical gown.

The surgical gown according to claim 17, characterised in that the waist cord goes through a slot in the transfer card such that it forms a loop on a side facing away from a side on the transfer card through which the cord is inserted, which loop can be pulled through the slot by pulling on the waist cord, thereby releasing the waist cord from the loop.
19. The surgical gown according to one of claims 12 to 18, characterised in that the band and/or the elongation limiter is accommodated at least partially in a protective tube.
20. The surgical gown according to one of the preceding claims, characterised by a transfer card (60) arranged on the material web and comprising a further fastening arrangement designed to secure the press-stud of the fastening arrangement (50).
21. A kit comprising a surgical gown according to one of the preceding claims arranged in a packaging, characterised in that, once the packaging (100) has been opened, a user can grasp the fitting aid (30) of the surgical gown through the opening of the packaging .
22. The kit according to claim 21, characterised in that the surgical gown grasped by the fitting aid can be removed from the packaging (100) and the removed surgical gown is detachably attached to the packaging (100) by the fastening arrangement (50).
23. The kit according to one of claims 21 and 22, characterised in that, in the packaging, the material web is folded once, preferably multiple times, in a concertina formation.
24. The kit according to claim 23, characterised in that the material web is folded in a concertina formation starting from the lateral edges and proceeding towards the openings.
25. The kit according to claim 23 or 24, characterised that the material web is folded in a concertina formation starting from the lower edge and proceeding towards the upper edge.

The kit according to one of claims 23 to 25, characterised in that the folding of the material web is obtained by folding the unfolded material web in a concertina formation starting from the lateral edges and proceeding towards the respective adjacent openings, and then in a concertina formation starting from the lower edge and proceeding towards the upper edge such that the lateral length of the intermediate product thus obtained corresponds approximately to a lateral length of the packaging in a direction running parallel to the lateral edges and the intermediate product is then folded in a concertina formation starting from the first lateral edge and proceeding towards the second lateral edge such that the dimensions of the folded material web correspond approximately to the corresponding dimensions of the packaging in a direction running perpendicular to the lateral edges.

The kit according to one of claims 21 to 27, characterised in that the packaging has a base and a circumferential wall starting from the base and extending towards an opening, wherein the wall has at least one recess, preferably designed as a circumferential groove, for receiving a fixing area of a holder for the packaging.
29. The kit according to claim 28, characterised by a flange arranged on the side of the recess facing away from the base and preferably extending around the opening, wherein the fixing area can be arranged on the delimiting surface of the flange facing the base.
30. The kit according to one of claims 27 and 28, characterised in that the fixing area has a frame into which the packaging can be inserted.
