- the object is achieved for the method for treating a surface of at least one large-sized component with a diameter or dimensions in the range of 0.5 m to 12 m in a system according to the invention, comprising the following successively performed steps:
- large-sized components in the region of their surface can be treated particularly uniformly.
- large-size components can be provided with a uniform conversion layer when performing burnishing or phosphating processes.
- the processing tanks required for the treatment of large-sized components and correspondingly also very large-sized treatment vessels are much more difficult to maintain at a uniform temperature than smaller treatment baths.
- the temperature of the treatment bath should be kept just below the sealing temperature so that a conversion layer of iron (II, III) oxide is formed, which adheres firmly to the component and is correspondingly resistant to abrasion. If the temperature of the treatment bath falls in places too far below the boiling point, only red rust (Fe203) forms instead of the iron (II, III) oxide, which is more voluminous and does not adhere sufficiently to the component.
- the components to be treated are preheated before they are introduced into the first treatment tank of the system. This significantly reduces the treatment time in the first treatment tank and allows a faster heat balance with the treatment bath.
- the large-sized components are in particular metallic bearing components for rolling or plain bearings, metallic automotive components and the like.
- Such large-sized components in particular in the form of metallic bearing components such as bearing rings or rolling elements, in particular made of steel, are needed, for example, for use in wind turbines.
- bearing rings In the treatment of bearing rings, it has proven to be successful if they are lying lying in the treatment tank.
