Description

The invention relates to a balustrade profile with a handrail guide and with at least one locating means for locating the balustrade profile at the upper end of balustrade panels.

Furthermore, the invention advantageously relates to a balustrade with a plurality of first panels, a plurality of second panels and with at least one balustrade profile according to the invention. The second panels protrude beyond the handrail guide and thus in particular form a fall protection device that protects people from falling over the handrail guide. Furthermore, a passenger conveyor device, in particular an escalator or a moving walk, with such a balustrade is advantageously the subject matter of the present invention. In addition, the invention relates to a method for modernizing a passenger conveyor.

It is known to use balustrades with a plurality of first panels and a plurality of second panels, in particular in passenger transport devices such as escalators or moving walkways, in which a handrail guide is arranged on the first panels and in which the second panels are offset laterally to the first panels in such a way are arranged so that the second panels protrude beyond the handrail guide. The second panels are used in particular as fall protection to prevent people using the people-conveying device from falling off the people-conveying device over the handrail of the people-conveying device. Since the handrail guide is arranged on the first panels of the balustrade, over which a driven, endless handrail is guided during operation of a passenger conveyor device, the first panels cannot have any desired height, but second panels are required, which are arranged laterally offset to the handrail guide are. In particular, it is known that handrail guide profiles are placed on the first panels.

JPH 1 036 054 A relates to an arrangement with fences arranged parallel to each other up to a position one step higher than an upper end of a railing plate of a transparent railing, on the outside of the transparent railing in an upright position position at a certain point. The height of a road surface is each formed by an approximately U-shaped plate consisting of an inner part running along the side surface of the handrail plate, with an outer part being arranged upright from a certain position of the height of the handrail with respect to the plate and around spaced a certain distance outwardly from the railing panel, and a floor panel connecting the inner and outer parts together, the upper end of the inner panel being fixed to the railing frame to which the upper end of the railing panel is secured.

From the WO 2006/042428 A2 For example, a balustrade for an escalator is known in which the first panels are arranged below the handrail and second panels are offset laterally to the handrail and project beyond the handrail. The escalator is specially adapted to this balustrade. JPS56124666U discloses at least one balustrade profile according to the preamble of the first claim.

Against this background, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved possibility for erecting an above-mentioned balustrade. In particular, a visually appealing balustrade is to be created that serves as fall protection. In particular, a simple retrofitting of people-moving devices with such a balustrade, which serves as fall protection, should also be made possible, preferably with minor adjustments to the people-moving device.

Weitere vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind in den abhängigen Ansprüchen offenbartIn order to solve this problem, a balustrade profile and a method for modernizing a passenger conveyor device according to the independent claims are proposed. Further advantageous developments of the invention are disclosed in the dependent claims

In 1 the cross section of a balustrade profile 1 is shown according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention. The balustrade profile 1 comprises a handrail guide 2, on which an endless handrail can be guided when the balustrade profile 1 is used as intended (in 1 not shown).

Further, the balustrade profile 1 comprises an arrangement means 3 for arranging the balustrade profile 1 at the upper end of balustrade panels (in 1 not shown). In this exemplary embodiment, the arrangement means 3 is a receptacle 31 which is designed in the manner of a groove. With this receptacle 31, the balustrade profile 1 is placed on an upper end of a balustrade panel or several balustrade panels for intended use (in 1 not shown). The receptacle 31 is matched to the balustrade panel on which the balustrade profile 1 is to be placed in such a way that the balustrade profile 1 can be clamped with the receptacle 31 on the upper end of the balustrade panel. The receptacle 31 is in particular arranged opposite the handrail guide 2 .

The balustrade profile 1 also includes a holding element 4 spaced apart from the handrail guide 2. In this exemplary embodiment, this holding element 4 is designed as a holding profile 10 that extends parallel to the balustrade profile 1 or as a parallel to the handrail guide 2 and is integrated into the balustrade profile 1. The holding element 4 is designed to hold at least one further panel at its lower end parallel to the handrail guide 2 in such a way that the further panel protrudes beyond the handrail guide 2 . When the balustrade profile 1 is used as intended, this additional panel serves as fall protection.

As in 1 shown, in this exemplary embodiment the holding element 4 is essentially designed as a U-shaped holding profile 10, the left inner side of the holding profile 10 being bevelled, as in FIG 1 shown. The reason for this is that for the intended use of the balustrade profile 1 it is provided that the at least one further panel is placed in the holding profile 10 and fixed by means of a clamping wedge which is inserted on the left side of the holding profile 10 . Fixing by means of the clamping wedge is further improved by the inclined inner edge of the holding profile. In particular, a glass clamping strip is provided as the holding profile 10 .

At the in 1 shown advantageous embodiment, the balustrade profile 1 is integrally formed together with the handrail guide 2 and the retaining profile 10, so as a single coherent part. This means that the holding element 4 is not arranged on the balustrade profile 1 or the handrail guide 2 in particular by fixing means such as screws. In particular, it is provided that the balustrade profile 1 is made of metal. In particular, it is further provided that the balustrade profile 1 is an extruded profile, preferably an aluminum extruded profile.

This in 1 The balustrade profile 1 shown comprises between the arrangement means 3, ie the receptacle 31, and the holding element 4, ie the holding profile 10, in particular a support structure, by which the holding profile 10 is spaced from the handrail guide 2. This supporting structure can in particular be designed like a cantilever arm which, like the retaining profile 10, also extends over the entire length of the balustrade profile. In this exemplary embodiment, the balustrade profile 1 has a framework structure in its cross section. On the upper side of the balustrade profile 1, ie on the side that has the handrail guide 2, the balustrade profile 1 is closed in the area between the handrail guide 2 and the holding profile 10 by an upper profile surface 7. On the lower side of the balustrade profile 1, i.e. on the side on which the receptacle 31 is arranged, the lower area, starting from the receptacle 31 to the right outer end of the balustrade profile 1, is closed by a continuous lower profile surface 8 in the exemplary embodiment. Connecting struts 6 are formed between these profile surfaces 7, 8, between which there are cavities 5. As a result, the stability of the balustrade profile 1 is increased on the one hand. On the other hand, material and weight are saved.

When the balustrade profile 1 is used as intended, the closed profile surface 7 advantageously prevents body parts of people or objects from getting into the area between the holding element 4 and the handrail guide 2 .

The profile surface 7 and the profile surface 8 of the balustrade profile 1 are in the exemplary embodiment as in FIG 1 shown, bent. This advantageously further increases the stability. In addition, this creates a particularly attractive aesthetic appearance. When this balustrade profile 1 is used in a people-moving device that connects two different height levels in an outdoor area, in particular a first floor with a second floor, a particularly advantageous water drainage through the curved area of the profile surface 7 is provided in the event of precipitation. In other words, the bending of the profile surface 7 in particular prevents moisture from being conducted into the holding profile 10 or into the area of the handrail guide 2 . The profile surface 7 serves as a kind of rain gutter. In particular, drainage openings can be provided in the balustrade profile 1 (in 1 not shown). These are advantageously dimensioned or protected in such a way that no body parts of persons, in particular no fingers, can be inserted into these drainage openings.

The length of such in 1 shown balustrade profile 1 may vary. Lengths of several meters, for example between 2 m (m: meters) and 15 m, are conceivable, particularly for straight balustrade sections, especially in the case of escalators in the inclined area. By arranging several balustrade profiles 1 in a row, in particular a complete balustrade can also be equipped. In particular for the areas of a balustrade that have a curvature, in particular in the case of an escalator with the beginning of the upwards or downwards movement of the conveyor belt, the balustrade profiles 1 are advantageously curved accordingly. In particular, short, curved balustrade profiles 1 can be provided for this purpose. Also for the comparatively short flat balustrade sections of an escalator at the entrance or exit, correspondingly short balustrade profiles 1 are advantageously provided, which in particular can be between 50 cm and 2 m long.

In 2 is a balustrade profile 1 as referred to in FIG 1 explained, shown in an intended use of this balustrade profile 1. A cross-sectional view is again shown. How out 2 visible, is on the handrail guide 2 des Balustrade profile 1 a handrail 9 arranged. This handrail 9 is in particular a driven, endless handrail, as is customary in escalators and moving walkways.

The balustrade profile 1 is arranged with its mount 31 on the upper end 112 of at least one first panel 11 . In particular, it is provided that the balustrade profile 1 has a greater length than a first panel 11, so that the balustrade profile 1 is usually arranged on a plurality of first panels 11.

At least one second panel 12 with its lower end 121 is arranged standing in the holding profile 10 . In this exemplary embodiment, this at least one second panel 12 is fixed in the retaining profile 10 by a clamping wedge 13 . Further fixing means, in particular screws or the like, for fixing the at least one second panel 12 are not provided. In particular, it is provided that the balustrade profile 1 is a metallic profile, in particular an aluminum profile, more particularly an aluminum extruded profile. Here, too, the length of the balustrade profile 1 is in particular greater than the length of a second panel 12, so that a plurality of second panels 12 are usually arranged and fixed in the holding profile 10.

The first panels 11 and the second panels 12 are in particular glass panels. In order to avoid direct contact between the metal of the balustrade profile 1 and the glass panels 11, 12, provision is made in particular for glass paper 14 to be arranged between the metal and the panel. In particular, toughened safety glass panes or laminated safety glass panes are provided as the first panels 11 and second panels 12 . In particular, the panels 11, 12 are glass panels of the usual dimensions, which are usually provided for escalator and moving walkway balustrades. For example, the panel thickness can be 25 mm (mm: millimeters). The panel thickness is preferably between 0.8 mm and 14 mm, in particular 10 mm.

3 shows an advantageous embodiment of a balustrade 22 designed according to the invention 3 a cross section of this balustrade 22 is shown. The balustrade 22 comprises a balustrade base 20 in which a plurality of first panels 11 are arranged with their lower end 113 . The first panels 11 are advantageously held in the balustrade base 20 by means of a clamp mount. The first panels 11 are in particular glass panels. The first panels 11 can in particular have a height between 90 cm (cm: centimeters) and 110 cm.

On the upper end 112 of the first panel 11, as in 3 shown, a balustrade profile 1 arranged. In this exemplary embodiment, the balustrade profile 1 comprises an arrangement means 3 designed as a receptacle, the balustrade profile 1 with this arrangement means 3 being placed on the upper end 112 of the first panel 11 . The balustrade profile 1 and the first panels 11 are matched to one another in such a way that the balustrade profile 1 is arranged with a firm seat on the upper end 112 of the first panel 11 . The balustrade profile 1 also includes a handrail guide 2 on which a handrail 9 is arranged. If the balustrade 22 is used as intended with a passenger conveyor device (in 3 not shown), the handrail 9 is a driven, endless handrail, in particular as is customary in escalators or moving walkways.

The balustrade profile 1 includes the in 3 shown embodiment also a spaced from the handrail guide 2 holding element 4, which can be formed in the embodiment shown in particular as a glass clamping strip. The balustrade profile 1 comprises a supporting structure, via which the holding element 4 is arranged on the balustrade profile 1 . This support structure comprises a continuous upper profile surface 7 and a continuous lower profile surface 8. The profile surface 7 prevents body parts of people or objects from getting between the handrail guide 2 and the holding element 4, particularly when the balustrade 22 is used together with a people-conveyor device.

The balustrade 22 also includes a plurality of second panels 12 which are arranged in the holding element 4 of the balustrade profile 1 . In particular, the second panels 12 are also glass panels. The second panels 12 are arranged laterally offset to the first panels 11, in particular parallel to the first panels 11. The second panels 12 protrude beyond the handrail guide 2, in particular as in FIG 3 shown. Advantageously, the second panels 12 have at least a height of between 30 cm and 100 cm. In particular, the height of the second panels 12 is to be determined in such a way that, in particular, an unintentional fall of persons over the handrail 9 is reliably prevented. For this purpose, the second panels 12 preferably extend at least 30 cm perpendicularly above the handrail 9.

In 4 a passenger conveyor device 30 is shown in a highly simplified perspective view. In this case, the passenger conveyor 30 is an escalator. In particular, for the sake of clarity, a large number of components are included People conveyor device 30, such as in particular the drive unit and the step belt, with which people 35 are transported, not shown. These components also do not differ from known configurations of these components. In addition, in the case of a passenger conveyor device 30, which differs from the illustration in 4 provided in particular that it is laterally delimited by two balustrades 22 . In the present case, the second balustrade was also not shown, in particular for reasons of better clarity.

In this exemplary embodiment, the balustrade 22 is shown together with an escalator support 25 , in particular to show the arrangement of the balustrade 22 in relation to this escalator support 25 and to clarify the proportions in relation to the escalator support 25 . In addition, in 4 a person 35 is shown schematically as they would stand on a step of an escalator. From this representation it is also evident that the overall height of the balustrade 22 is so high that an unintentional fall of a person 50 over the balustrade 22 is ruled out.

In the 4 The balustrade 22 shown comprises a plurality of first panels 11 which are arranged in a butt joint, these first panels 11 being in particular glass panels. A balustrade profile 1 is arranged on the first panels 11 . The balustrade profile 1 can in particular as explained in connection with the preceding figures, in particular as in connection with 1 explained, designed. The balustrade profile 1 thus comprises in particular a handrail guide, with a driven handrail being guided over this handrail guide (in 4 not shown). Laterally offset and parallel to the first panels 11, a plurality of second panels 12 is fixed in the holding element 4 of the balustrade profile 1 in such a way that the second panels 12 protrude beyond the handrail guide. The second panels 12 are also in particular glass panels.

A cover plate frame 28 is arranged at the beginning and at the end of the escalator support 25 . A cover plate 27 is arranged in this cover plate frame 28 and, in addition, another glass clamping strip as a further holding element 29. In addition, an end panel 19 is arranged at the beginning and at the end of the balustrade 22 in each case. The end panel 19 is in particular also a glass panel. The end panel 19 each has a first panel area with a first lower end and a second panel area with a second lower end. The end panel 19 is arranged with its first lower end in the holding element 4 of the balustrade profile 1 . With the second bottom end that is End panel 19 is arranged in each case in the further holding element 29 which is arranged on the cover plate frame 28 . The end panel 19 extends in the second panel area from the lower end of an adjacent first panel 11 to the upper end of an adjacent second panel 12.

In particular, it can be provided that at least one light source is installed on the balustrade profile 1, in particular in the holding element 4, with the second panels 12 being illuminated by means of the at least one light source (in 4 not shown).

In figure 5 is a section of a balustrade 22, in particular as in 4 shown in a passenger conveyor 30, shown. In particular, details are shown, such as the upper end of a balustrade 22, such as in 4 shown, could be designed according to an advantageous embodiment. With reference to 6 a method proposed with the present invention for modernizing an escalator is explained in more detail. The figure on the left shows the cross section of an existing balustrade 22' with a balustrade base 20, a panel 11 and a handrail guide profile 2' arranged on the panel 11, a handrail 9 being arranged on the handrail guide profile 2'. The method according to the invention now provides that this existing balustrade 22 'is modernized in such a way that a balustrade 22, as in particular in 3 shown at the end of the procedure. For this purpose it is provided that first the handrail 9 and the handrail guide profile 2' are removed. The first panels 11 of the existing balustrade 22' can advantageously continue to be used. The balustrade with the handrail guide 2' and the handrail 9 removed is the one on the right in the figure 6 shown. A balustrade profile 1 (in 6 not shown) arranged, in particular a balustrade profile as in 1 or 3 shown. After the balustrade profile 1 is fixed to the upper end 112 of the panels 11, a plurality of further panels are arranged in a holding element 4 of the balustrade profile 1, in particular as shown in FIG 3 shown. In particular, it is provided that the at least one holding element 4 is designed as a holding profile, in particular as in 1 or 3 shown. The other panels 12 are then, in particular, as in 2 shown inserted into the support profile, contact between support profile and panel 12 being prevented by glass paper when the panel is a glass panel. The panel 12 is fixed in the holding element 4 by means of fixing means, in particular by clamping wedges if the holding element is a clamping strip. The panels 12 arranged in the holding element 4 are further fixed by point connections and/or by a clamping strip arranged at the upper end of the panel 12 . In particular, it is provided that the further panels 12 are arranged in a butt joint. According to one embodiment variant, provision can be made for the second panels 12 to be arranged only in the areas of a passenger conveyor device where there is a real risk of falling, particularly a fall that is detrimental to a person's health.

The balustrade profile 1 can in particular comprise a light source, in particular a light source arranged in the holding element 4 or on the profile surface 7, the light source advantageously being positioned in such a way that the further panels 12 are illuminated by the light source. This further improves the aesthetic appearance of the balustrade 22. The further panels 12 are preferably placed in the holding element 4 in such a way that light enters the respective panel 12 at the lower edge at the lower end 121 of the panel. The light source is advantageously arranged accordingly in the holding element 4 .

In particular, provision can also be made for an end panel 19 to be erected at the respective end of a balustrade, as shown in particular in figure 5 shown.

7 shows a further exemplary embodiment of a passenger conveyor device 30 in a plan view. Only a section of the passenger conveyor device 30 is shown. The passenger conveyor device 30 comprises a step band formed from a plurality of steps 33 . The steps 30 of the step band are each delimited laterally by a balustrade 22 . there in 7 only a detail of the passenger conveyor 30 is shown, is in 7 only a portion of a balustrade 22 is shown. In the 2 The additional balustrade that is not shown is constructed in particular in accordance with the balustrade 22 shown and is arranged mirror-symmetrically with respect to the balustrade 22 shown in relation to the step band. The balustrade 22 includes a balustrade base 20 in which a plurality of first panels 11 are held. A balustrade profile 1 with a handrail guide 2 is placed on the first panels 11, with the handrail guide 2 of the balustrade profile 1 covering the first panels 11 so that these 7 are not explicitly visible.

The arranged on the first profiles 11 balustrade profile 1 comprises a plurality of cantilevers 16. These cantilevers 16 have a mounted end 17 and a free end 18, the cantilevers 16 are arranged with the mounted end 17 on the balustrade profile 1. Holding elements 4 are arranged at the free end 18 of the cantilever arms 16 . In this case, these are not designed as a continuous holding profile, but as punctiform holders, for example with a length of between 10 cm and 25 cm each. The holding elements 4 support the second panels 12 which are held exclusively by the holding elements 4 . In particular, 4 fixing means 23 can be arranged on the holding elements to the second Panels 12 to hold securely on the balustrade profile 1. It is particularly advantageous that a cover is provided as the upper profile surface (in 7 not shown). This cover is arranged in particular above or on the upper side of the cantilever arms 16, so that there are no free spaces between the respective cantilever arms 16 from above, through which objects or body parts could protrude. This cover or this profile surface thus advantageously improves the protection against unwanted contact with the cantilever arms 16.

The exemplary embodiments illustrated in the figures and explained in connection with these serve to explain the invention and are not restrictive of it.
