    - inputting a raw material provided for carding in the input device (9),
    - inputting a provided production volume in the input device (9),
    - establishing a target carding gap width,
    characterized by the following method steps:
    - outputting the target carding gap width on the display device (8)
    - detecting a target drum speed and/or a target flat speed and outputting on the display device (8).
  2. Method according to claim 1, characterized in that a target time for leveling and/or grinding the clothing of the drum (2) and/or the clothing element, in particular depending on the production volume, is output.
  3. Method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the target carding gap width is calculated by the control means (7), in particular a machine control means arranged on the card (1).
  4. Method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the control means (7), in particular a machine control means arranged on the card (1), outputs the target carding gap width, the target drum speed, the target flat speed on the display device (8) and/or the target time for equalizing and/or grinding.
  5. Method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that an actual carding gap width, an actual drum speed, an actual flat speed and/or a period until or since the target time for leveling and/or grinding is output on the display device (8).
  6. Method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the target values and the actual values (14) of the carding gap width (W), the drum speed, the flat speed and/or the time for leveling and/or grinding are output on the display device (8) in relation to one another.
  7. Method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the control means (7) automatically adjusts the carding gap width (W) and/or automatically levels and/or grinds the clothing of the drum (2) and/or the clothing element.
  8. Method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that production operation of the card (1) is prevented by the control means (7) when at least one of the actual values deviates from its target value by a predetermined maximum value.
  9. Card
    - having a drum (2) that has clothing and
    - having at least one clothing element arranged opposite the drum (2), in particular a feed roller (3), a doffer roller (5) and/or a flat bar (4),
    - a carding gap (6) having a carding gap width (W) being formed between the clothing of the drum (2) and the clothing element,
    - having a control means (7) and
    - having a display and input device (8, 9) arranged on the card (1),
    characterized in that the control means (7), the display and input device (8, 9) are designed to carry out the method steps of at least one of the preceding claims.
  10. Card according to claim 9, characterized in that an adjusting means (11) for manually or automatically adjusting the carding gap width (W) is associated with the card (1).
  11. Card according to claim 9 or 10, characterized in that a clothing grinding device (10) is associated with the card (1).
