Definitions
- the invention relates to a socket for a combined electrical connection and data connection according to the preamble of claim 1, as is also fundamentally apparent WO 2017/076781 A1 known for production systems in the industrial environment.
- the socket outlet proposed according to the invention is intended for an electrical connection and data connection between a motor vehicle and a vehicle component, such as a vehicle trailer or a machine or the like mounted on the vehicle, of a passenger car, truck, agricultural vehicle or other commercial vehicle.
- the socket should be suitable for installation on the outside of the motor vehicle, which requires a correspondingly mechanically robust structure that must also be specially sealed. Especially when data is being transmitted, effects caused by moisture, such as changes in capacitance in the area of the contacts, can already lead to disruptions in data communication.
- a break-away connector for a connection between a towing vehicle and a trailer is known, which is designed as a two-part socket with a permanently mounted, open socket housing and a socket insert that can be inserted into the socket housing.
- This socket insert is closed with a cover when not in use.
- the socket insert detaches from the open socket housing without causing any major errors.
- the object of the invention is therefore to create a socket with data contacts and conventional electrical contacts that meets high tightness requirements, enables secure data transmission and allows easy insertion of the plug into the socket.
- a plug with the features of claim 1.
- the data connector in the case of a socket of the type mentioned at the outset, provision is made in particular for the data connector to have at least one electrically conductive, in particular a metallic, outer socket for electrically shielding the data transmission in the data connector, at least one data contact for establishing the data connection and one in the (or - several) outer sockets -
- Each) outer socket accommodated carrier body made of an insulating material for receiving the at least one data contact, wherein the data contact or preferably several data contacts are fixed in the carrier body by pressing or overmolding in a sealing manner and wherein the carrier body is fixed in a sealing manner in the outer socket by pressing in or injection molding. Electrically and magnetically effective shielding is particularly preferred.
- a common shield can be provided for all data contacts, which are all fixed together in the carrier body.
- the carrier body is accommodated in the outer bushing in a reliably sealed manner.
- this avoids the need for multiple shields to be sealingly accommodated in the socket housing and for each carrier body to be reliably sealed again in each shield.
- certain data lines and data contacts should be shielded separately from other data lines and data contacts.
- individual data contacts or groups of data contacts can also be surrounded by their own shielding according to the invention and accommodated in the contact carrier of the socket.
- the shielding with the enclosed data contacts then acts in principle as a separate shielded data connector, so that interference from other data transmissions is very reliably shielded.
- several such data plugs can then be provided in a socket.
- a low-voltage supply voltage can also be made available via data contacts, for example for electronic circuits with a low power requirement. It is also possible to additionally transmit the ground applied to the shielding via a data contact.
- the data contacts in the data plug connector can in particular be pin contacts and/or socket contacts made of electrically conductive material, which produce an electrically conductive connection with the respective corresponding mating contacts.
- Pin and socket contacts have particularly large contact areas and thus achieve the lowest possible contact resistance. This improves the quality of data transmission.
- Material with a low dielectric constant ⁇ R within the meaning of the invention is in particular a material with a dielectric constant of approximately ⁇ R ⁇ 3.5, preferably approximately ⁇ R ⁇ 3.0 and particularly preferably approximately ⁇ R ⁇ 2.5.
- the at least one data contact is sealingly received and fixed in the carrier body and the carrier body is sealingly received and fixed in the outer socket, the connection areas of the data plug formed on both sides of the carrier body are reliably sealed. Moisture cannot penetrate through the data plug connector into the data network of the vehicle via the plug-in opening, which is possibly exposed to the ingress of moisture, at least when a plug of the vehicle component is plugged in.
- the solution proposed according to the invention meets the ISO 4019, LV 214, USCAR 2, SAE standards and combines the electrical contacts common in the automotive industry for voltage and power supply and for the direct switching of electrical components (lights, work machines, etc.) in a common plug connection a data transmission that is used to transmit sensor information of any kind, including images from digital cameras that are to be displayed to the driver and are transmitted via the socket in one data transmission.
- the electrical contacts and the at least one data contact, and preferably all data contacts of a total of several data contacts are designed as axially straight contacts (e.g. pin or socket contacts) that extend from the rear connection space extend straight into the insertion opening.
- the ends of these can be connected directly to the vehicle network, e.g.
- the proposed socket therefore preferably has no circuit board on which the contacts are fixed and possibly connected to one another via conductor tracks and/or interposed electronic components, which each extend into the rear connection space and the insertion opening. This promotes a high quality of data transmission.
- a particularly preferred embodiment of the proposed socket provides that the outer socket of the data connector is accommodated in a sleeve of the contact carrier, which bears against the outer circumference of the outer socket, ie surrounds it in a form-fitting manner. Provision can be made for the outer bushing to extend in its axial direction over at least approximately one third or half the length of the outer bushing. Due to the fact that the outer circumference of the outer bush rests against the inner circumference of a sleeve of the contact carrier, the outer bush can not only be securely fixed in the contact carrier, but a particularly good seal is also achieved.
- the sleeve preferably even extends over at least three quarters of the length of the outer bush in the axial direction of the outer bush. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the sleeve extends in the axial direction of the outer bush over the entire length of the outer bush. The longer the sleeve, the better the guidance when inserting the plug into the socket.
- an inwardly projecting collar i.e. reducing the opening cross-section of the sleeve, to be formed on the end of the sleeve located in the insertion opening.
- This collar makes it possible, for example, to insert the outer socket of the data connector from the rear connection space into the sleeve of the contact carrier until it abuts against the collar.
- the outer socket, or the entire data connector is fixed in a defined manner in the contact carrier.
- the end of the outer bush protruding into the insertion opening is protected from mechanical damage by the sleeve. Such damage may make it difficult to insert the vehicle component connector, damage the seal due to the force applied, and/or impair the quality of data transmission.
- the electrical contacts i.e. the electrical contacts or a part thereof can also be arranged and positioned in corresponding sleeves of the contact carrier.
- This also applies to the following variants of fixing and sealing, which are again described in relation to the outer shell of the data connector, and can also apply to the electrical contacts in the same or correspondingly similar manner according to the invention.
- an outwardly protruding spike profile can be formed on the outer circumference of the outer socket, which is pressed into the inner wall of the sleeve of the contact carrier when the outer socket is pressed in.
- This mandrel profile has two effects that are desired according to the invention: On the one hand, the outer bush is securely fixed in the sleeve by pressing in the mandrels of the mandrel profile. Due to the compression of the material of the sleeve, it is in this area with particular pressure on the outer bush and thus achieves a reliable seal.
- the housing and the contact carrier of the socket are preferably made of a suitable plastic material, e.g. in an injection molding process, e.g. made of polyamide, such as reinforced or unreinforced PA 6 or PA 6.6, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polypropylene (PP), polyoxymethylene (POM) or other suitable plastics.
- a suitable plastic material e.g. in an injection molding process, e.g. made of polyamide, such as reinforced or unreinforced PA 6 or PA 6.6, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polypropylene (PP), polyoxymethylene (POM) or other suitable plastics.
- PBT polybutylene terephthalate
- PP polypropylene
- POM polyoxymethylene
- the housing and the contact carrier insert are produced in one piece in one injection molding step. This avoids additional contact surfaces between housing parts that would have to be sealed.
- the invention can also be used in sockets in which the socket housing and the contact carrier
- the mandrel profile can have a plurality of mandrels spaced apart in the axial direction on the outer circumference of the outer bush.
- a mandrel can be formed, for example, by a triangular projection of the outer bush running around the outer circumference.
- Particularly preferred is a shape in which the mandrel on the side facing the rear connection space protrudes exactly or essentially perpendicularly from the outer circumference, for example at an angle of between 80° and 100° or between 85° and 95° on the side facing away from the rear connection space, connects to the outer circumference again at an angle of less than 80° or greater than 100°. Angles smaller than 45° or larger than 135° are preferred. This makes it easier to push the outer bushing into the sleeve from the rear connection space and makes it more difficult to push it out in the opposite direction.
- the mandrels can also be formed by rectangular projections which project symmetrically, preferably at right angles, from the respective wall.
- a Such a mandrel profile or a similar one, formed from rectangular grooves, for example, is also suitable if it is overmoulded in an injection molding process and is not pushed into a sleeve.
- the injected plastic material wraps around the mandrels of the mandrel profile (or penetrates into the grooves of the mandrel profile, providing both axial fixation and a reliable seal.
- the mandrel profile can have one, two or more mandrels (or grooves), preferably about one to three.
- the outer socket of the data connector and the sleeve of the contact carrier each preferably have a round cross section, with which an identical sealing effect can be achieved over the entire outer circumference.
- the same may also apply to the electrical contacts and the sleeves of the contact carrier assigned to them.
- the outer socket of the contact carrier insert and, if necessary, the electrical contacts can also be directly encapsulated in an injection molding process when the housing of the socket is formed.
- a spike profile leads to better fixation.
- the direct encapsulation of the outer socket of the data connector and/or the contacts also leads to a high degree of tightness.
- the invention also provides for a sealing accommodation of the carrier body made of insulating material in the outer socket.
- an inwardly protruding mandrel profile can be formed on the inner circumference of the outer bushing pressed into the outer wall of the carrier body when the carrier body is pressed into the outer bushing. This also achieves a secure fixation and a high level of tightness between the carrier body and the outer bush.
- the mandrel profile can have one or more mandrels, preferably about one to three, spaced apart in the axial direction on the inner circumference of the outer bush.
- a mandrel can be formed, for example, by a triangular projection of the outer bush running around the inner circumference.
- Particularly preferred is a shape in which the mandrel on the side facing the rear connection space protrudes exactly or essentially perpendicularly from the inner circumference, for example at an angle of between 80° and 100° or between 85° and 95° on the side facing away from the rear connection space, rejoins the inner circumference at an angle of less than 80° or greater than 100°. Angles smaller than 45° or larger than 135° are preferred. This makes it easier to slide the carrier body into the outer socket from the rear connection space and makes it more difficult to slide it out in the opposite direction.
- the mandrels can also be formed by rectangular projections which project symmetrically, preferably at right angles, from the respective wall.
- the outer socket of the data plug connector and the carrier body preferably each have a round cross section, with which a uniform sealing effect can be achieved over the entire outer circumference.
- a seal is provided on the outer wall of the carrier body, e.g. in a circumferential sealing groove in the outer wall of the carrier body along the outer circumference, which seal is supported on the inner wall of the outer bush in a sealing manner when the carrier body is received in the outer bush.
- a seal is particularly useful in embodiments in which the carrier body is inserted into the outer bush by being pressed and fixed there in a sealing manner.
- the seal can be formed, for example, by a sealing ring, such as an O-ring seal.
- a sealing ring such as an O-ring seal.
- a particular advantage of the seal (compressed during sealing) is that it is suitable for compensating for different expansion behaviors of the outer bushing and the carrier body, which typically consist of different materials, such as metal and an insulating material.
- different expansion behaviors of the outer socket and carrier body at certain temperatures can mean that a seal that is reliable in other temperature ranges no longer functions adequately due to size fluctuations. It has been shown that such size fluctuations can be compensated for by providing an additional seal (or a plurality of additional seals) and that tightness can be reliably established.
- seals in particular two or three seals, are provided at an axial distance from one another on the outer wall of the carrier body.
- a seal with several sealing lips can also be provided. This offers redundancy in the sealing if a seal or a sealing surface on the inner wall of the outer bush and/or on the outer wall of the carrier body, for example in the groove provided there, has damage that impairs the tightness, for example scratches.
- a flange-like projection can be provided on the inner wall of the outer bushing, which reduces the free inner diameter of the outer bushing in the area of the projection.
- This projection limits the insertion path of a body inserted into the outer bush. If the carrier body during assembly of one side, for example. From the rear Connection space facing side is inserted into the outer socket until the support body abuts the projection, its position is thereby defined defined.
- the projection limits the plug-in path and prevents a force (for example affecting the sealing effect) from being exerted on the carrier body by the latter being displaced in the outer socket.
- the plug hits this flange-like projection and thus prevents the application of force to the carrier body.
- the carrier body can also be cast into the outer bushing.
- an outwardly protruding spike profile can be formed on the outer circumference of the at least one data contact (or all data contacts), which when the data contact is pressed into a through-opening of the carrier body into an inner wall of the through-opening pushes in. In the manner already described above, this achieves reliable sealing and fixing of the data contact in the carrier body.
- all of the data contacts provided in the socket are arranged together in a common outer socket.
- This is particularly space-saving and allows a large number of electrical contacts and data contacts to be accommodated in the socket.
- only one outer socket has to be sealed in the contact carrier of the socket. This is simpler and cheaper to produce and reduces the likelihood of a leak, because it is basically on every connection surface between the contact carrier and a connector (e.g. an electrical contact or a data connector) leaks can occur.
- This measure proposed according to the invention significantly reduces the number of connecting surfaces.
- sockets with more than one outer socket for shielding the data contacts also belong to the subject matter of the invention, as already explained at the outset.
- sockets with a data contact in the carrier body surrounded by an outer socket similar to a coaxial contact, also fall within the scope of the invention. The same applies to more than ten data contacts.
- Two data contacts are sufficient for a standard bus system for data transmission, whereby one data contact (preferably the bus ground) can also be replaced by the electrically conductive, i.e. metallic, outer socket if necessary. In this case, an additional data contact (in addition to the external socket) is sufficient for data transmission.
- two data contacts can be provided.
- an Ethernet connection can be implemented via eight data contacts, which usually provides cabling with 4 twisted wire pairs.
- the specialist can suitably adapt the number of data contacts, for example to enclose each of the twisted pairs of wires in an Ethernet cable with an electrically separate (own) shield.
- the outlet may have anywhere from two to eight electrical contacts positioned around the data connector.
- the data plug-in connector possibly with only one outer socket—is arranged axially with respect to the round plug-in pattern and the others electrical contacts are arranged offset radially outwards around the outer socket(s) of the connector.
- the electrical contacts can be provided to transmit a supply voltage from the motor vehicle to the motor vehicle component. This will often be a DC voltage using two contacts. For example, currents of up to 10A can be permitted via the supply voltage. If, for example, machines or similar systems of the vehicle components require higher outputs, it makes sense to provide electrical contacts for this purpose, which are designed for higher currents, for example currents of 25A or 60A.
- the rear connection space of the socket has a connection opening into which a vehicle-side connector for connecting the socket to the vehicle network can be inserted. This makes it easier to connect the socket to the vehicle network and to replace the socket in the event of a defect. A direct connection of connecting lines of the vehicle wiring harness to contacts in the socket is avoided.
- an inventive socket 1 for a combined electrical connection and data connection between a motor vehicle and, for example, a trailer is shown as a vehicle component.
- the socket 1 has a housing 2 with an insertion opening 3 into which a plug 4 of the vehicle component (trailer) can be inserted.
- a cover 5 is hinged to the housing 2 of the socket 1 and seals the insertion opening 3 when not in use, the cover 5 being prestressed in the closing direction by means of a spring 6 .
- connection space 7 with a connection opening 8 is provided in the socket 1 axially opposite the insertion opening 3 .
- a vehicle-side connector plug 9 for connecting the socket 1 to the vehicle network (electrical supply and data network) can be plugged.
- the connection plug pattern 10 of the connector plug 9 is adapted to the arrangement of the contacts in the connection space 7 of the socket 1, which will be described in more detail later.
- a latching projection 11 is provided on the housing 2 , which interacts with a latching device 12 of the connector plug 9 .
- figure 2 shows a plan view of the insertion opening 3 of the housing 2 of the socket 1.
- Two fastening flanges 13 are formed on the side of the housing 2.
- FIG. The bottom of the insertion opening 3 is formed by a contact carrier 20 which is provided between the insertion opening 3 and the connection space 7 in the socket 1 .
- the contact carrier 20 Contacts 30 for an electrical connection and a data connector 40 are fixed in the contact carrier 20 .
- the data connector 40 is arranged axially in the center of the insertion opening 3 and comprises several data contacts 41, five in the example shown, and a common outer socket 42 for electrically shielding the data transmission in the data connector 40.
- the electrical contacts 30 for the electrical connection are seen radially outside of the outer sleeve 42, in the example shown on a circle provided coaxially with the outer sleeve 42. In the example shown here, eight electrical contacts 30 are provided
- the contact carrier 20 with the contacts 30 for the electrical connection and the data connector 40 are described below with reference to FIG Figures 3 to 7 described in more detail in different variants of the invention.
- FIG. 3 shows the socket 1 with the lid 5 closed and the housing 2 shown in section.
- the contact carrier 20 is made in one piece with the housing 2, for example in an injection molding process.
- the electrical contacts 30 and the data connector 40 are fixed in the contact carrier 20 .
- the contacts 30 have a socket section 31 and a pin section 32 .
- the socket section 31 is accessible from the insertion opening 3 .
- the pin section 32 is accessible from the connection space 7 .
- a mandrel profile 33 is provided on the end of the socket section 31 facing the pin section 32 , with which the contact 30 is pressed into a sleeve 21 of the contact carrier 20 . As a result, the electrical contact 30 is securely fixed in the sleeve 21 . Because the mandrel profile 33 is pressed into the inner wall of the sleeve 21, a reliable seal is also achieved in addition to the fixation.
- the electrical contact 30 is inserted into the sleeve 21 from the rear end of the socket 1 from the connection space 7 .
- the latter At the end of the sleeve 21 facing the insertion opening 3 , the latter has a collar 22 which narrows the inner diameter of the sleeve 21 and thus offers a stop for the contact 30 inserted into the sleeve 21 .
- the outer socket 42 of the data connector 40 is accommodated in a sleeve 23 of the contact carrier 20 for the outer socket 42 .
- the sleeve 23 also has a collar 24, which projects inward at the end of the sleeve 23 located in the insertion opening 3 and narrows the opening cross section of the sleeve 23.
- the outer bushing 42 also has an outwardly protruding spike profile 43 that engages the inner wall of the sleeve 23 and fixes the outer bushing 42 in the sleeve 23 in a sealing manner.
- the outer socket 42 is also pushed into the sleeve 23 from the rear end of the socket in the connection space 7 and sleeve 23 is pressed in at the same time.
- the data contacts 41 each have a pin section 44 at their opposite axial ends. One of the pin sections 44 extends into the connection space 7. The other of the pin sections 44 extends into the insertion opening 3.
- the pin sections 44 of the data contacts 41 arranged opposite one another are connected by a contact body 45.
- the contact body 45 has a larger diameter than the pin sections 44 Comparable to the spike profile 33 of the electrical contacts 30, a spike profile 46 is formed on the contact body 45, with which the data contacts 41 are held in openings of a carrier body 47 made of insulating material. Similar to the electrical contacts 30, the data contacts 41 are pressed into the carrier body 47 in a sealing manner from the rear connection space 7 and are fixed in place.
- an inwardly projecting spike profile 48 of the outer bushing 42 is provided—approximately in the axial center of the outer bushing 42, into which the carrier body 47 is inserted.
- a flange-like projection 49 is formed on the inner wall of the outer bushing 42 as a stop.
- a modified data connector 140 is therefore provided, which is basically constructed like the data connector 40 .
- the unchanged components of the socket and also of the data plug are not described in more detail below and are not provided with reference symbols in the drawing either.
- An additional sealing ring 150 is provided between the carrier body 147 of the data plug connector 140 and its outer socket 142 to ensure the seal. Details of the construction of this embodiment of the invention are shown in detail enlargement Z from figure 4 in figure 5 shown.
- FIG 5 shows the carrier body 147 and the outer socket 142, which are received in the sleeve 23 of the socket 1.
- One of the spikes of the inwardly protruding spike profile 148 of the outer sleeve 142 is compared to the outer sleeve 42 previously described according to FIG figure 3 omitted, wherein the inner wall of the outer sleeve 142 is formed there smooth and flat.
- the carrier body 147 has a groove 151 in which the sealing ring 150 is accommodated. After the carrier body 147 has been pushed into the outer bushing 142, the sealing ring 150 is pushed together between the bottom wall of the groove 151 and the inner wall of the outer bushing 142 and thus produces an additional sealing effect. Due to the high elasticity of the sealing ring 150, this also allows different Compensate for material expansion coefficients of the carrier body 147 and the outer bushing 142. This reliably improves the sealing effect.
- the mandrel profiles 46, 143, 148 shown show how the individual mandrels of the mandrel profiles are designed and are pressed into the material surrounding them in a sealing manner, so that the components held by the mandrel profiles 46, 143, 148 are securely and sealingly fixed in the socket.
- spring sleeves 52 can also be seen, which are placed on the two axial ends of the carrier body 147 and bear against the outer bushing 142 . These spring sleeves include a shielding of the plugs inserted in the data plug connection 140 so that the shielding is contacted through the socket 1 . These spring sleeves 52 are also shown in the sectional drawing according to fixed point 3.
- socket 1 As shown in the Figures 1 to 3 is described, unchanged parts of the socket 1 in the Figures 4 to 6 provided with the original reference numbers. Changed parts are marked with reference numbers increased by 100.
- the socket 201 as in a further variant of the invention compared to the previously described versions of the socket 1 according to the Figures 1 to 7 described differs in the manner of attaching data connector 240 and contacts 230 for electrical connection.
- the data connector and the contacts for the electrical displacement were each pressed into the sockets of the contact carrier.
- the variant of the invention now described shows electrical contacts 230 and a data connector 240, which were also cast in the injection molding of the housing 202 and the contact carrier 220.
- the electrical contacts 230 have, instead of a mandrel profile with triangular mandrels, a mandrel profile 233 with rectangular, groove-shaped mandrels, into whose groove-like depressions the injection molding material is poured.
- the outer bushing 242 has a rectangular mandrel profile 243 through grooves let into the outer wall of the outer bushing 242, which is cast around in the same way during the injection molding of the housing 202 of the socket outlet 201.
- the data connector 240 itself has also been produced by casting the carrier body 247 into the outer socket 242 .
- the data contacts 241 have a contact body 245 with a mandrel profile 246 formed by rectangular grooves embedded in the contact body 245 .
- a rectangular mandrel profile 248 protrudes inwards from the inner wall of the outer bushing 242 so that the carrier body 247 made of insulating material can be cast into the outer bushing 242 accordingly.
- the electrical contacts 230 cast into the carrier body 220 and the outer socket 242 of the data connector 240 cast into the carrier body 220 and/or the carrier body 247 cast into the outer socket 242, can each also be combined with the other embodiments described above.
- FIG 8 shows a further embodiment of a socket 301 according to the invention, the structure and construction of which corresponds in principle to the previously described embodiments. A detailed description is therefore omitted; the above statements apply accordingly.
- the socket 301 differs from the sockets described above, as can be seen in particular from a comparison with 2 evident from the connection diagram.
- This socket 301 has only four contacts 330 for an electrical connection and a data connector 340, which comprises a first outer socket 342a and a second outer socket 342b, each of which is separately accommodated in the supporting body 320 of the housing 302 of the socket 301.
- outer sockets The number of outer sockets, the data contacts in each outer socket, and/or the contacts for electrical connection in each embodiment can be varied as appropriate by those skilled in the art.
Description
- ein Gehäuse mit einer Einstecköffnung zur Verbindung mit einem Stecker der Fahrzeugkomponente (bspw. ein Anhänger oder die Maschine eines Nutzfahrzeugs) und einen Deckel, der die Einstecköffnung bei Nichtgebrauch, d.h. wenn kein Stecker einer Fahrzeugkomponente in die Steckdose eingesteckt ist, abdichtend verschließt;

- In
- In
Fig. 2 ersichtlich, durch das Anschlussteckbild.
