Afin de remédier aux inconvénients précités ou même d’autres, la présente invention propose un engin maritime qui comporte une quille amovible facilitant les manœuvres de mise à l’eau et de récupération ainsi que le stockage, mais, aussi, pouvant permettre plusieurs modes de navigation à l’engin en fonction de la position de la quille. En outre, en opération, la quille en position remontée n’a plus d’impact sur la prise au vent et n’est plus une gêne sur le pont grâce au fait qu’elle est remontée dans le kiosque ou mature qui comporte intérieurement un espace de stockage de quille qui reçoit la partie de la quille remontée qui dépasserait sinon du pont ou des superstructures.
