- the present invention relates, in general, to a flush bolt.
- Flush bolts can be installed at the edge of a door and manually deployed (or projected) or retracted using a lever mechanism so they slide downwards into or upwards out of the threshold. They may also be installed at the top of a door (instead of or as well as the bottom). In either case, such bolts enable the door to be secured. They are generally cylindrical or rectangular in cross section.
- Seals may be used to stem the flow of sound, air and/or smoke through the gaps between a door and the door surround.
- Such seals can include threshold seals provided on the bottom of the door.
- the seals may comprise intumescent material.
