Des Weiteren ist ein solcher Linearmotor im Wesentlichen verschleißfrei, da er keine beweglichen Teile aufweist. Ebenfalls benötigt ein solcher Linearmotor kaum Wartung, bis auf den Schlitten des Läufers auf dem Querholm. Ein weiterer Vorteil besteht in der Möglichkeit einer direkten Wegmessung der Klemm- oder Saugleistenstange, die mit einer hohen Auflösung eine sehr präzise Positionierung ermöglicht.
