Definitions
- the invention relates to a cover strip for attaching to a built-in part, for example a window or door frame, at the transition to an adjacent, existing wall or plaster area, with a cover profile that can be attached to the built-in part, the cover strip having an integrated sealing system with a sealing flap , Which has a permanently elastic adhesive bead on a first edge region in the longitudinal direction of the cover strip for fixing to the adjoining wall or plaster area.
- the invention further relates to a method for attaching such a cover strip to a built-in part, and to a system having a cover strip, a built-in part and an adjacent wall or plaster area.
- a sealing strip for sealing between a window frame and a window reveal has become known.
- the plastic sealing strip consists of two sections which are movably connected to one another via a joint formation extending in the longitudinal direction.
- the joint is designed as a hinge joint by means of a material reduction and has a stop strip on the back that limits the opening angle, so that an L-shaped sealing strip can be implemented in the installed position, the first section of which is glued to the side cheek of the window frame and the second section of which is attached to the window frame supported by an elastic sealing lip on the window reveal.
- An elastically resilient sealing strip is arranged between the window reveal and the second section, which is present in a separable film, from which two pull strips emanate, via which the film can be torn after the installation of the sealing strip, so that the sealing strip can expand with a sealing effect.
- the complicated manufacture and handling of the sealing strip are disadvantageous.
- a joint sealing tape for sealing a structural joint between two components, in particular between a wall and a frame component is known, the sealing tape having two separate foam sealing strips each made of a resilient foam material.
- Each of the sealing strips has two broad sides for contact with the two joint flanks formed by the abutting components.
- the two sealing strips are arranged on a preferably flexible, elongate carrier next to one another running in the longitudinal direction of the carrier, with means being provided for triggering a reset triggering of the two sealing strips from a compressed state independently of one another.
- Disadvantages are the relatively complicated handling, as well as the visible appearance, for example when mounted on the room side in the reveal area of windows or door frames.
- the EP 3 330 471 A1 shows a cover strip for attachment to a built-in part, for example a window or door frame, at the transition to an adjacent wall or plaster area, with a cover profile that can be attached to the built-in part with an adhesive tape.
- the cover strip has an integrated sealing system in the form of a flexible sealing tab or sealing film, which is attached to the cover profile with a first edge area in the longitudinal direction of the cover strip and has a permanently elastic adhesive bead on the second, free edge area for attachment to the adjacent wall or plaster area.
- a chamber profile is provided for sealing an assembly gap between the frame of a finishing element (e.g. a window or a door) and a reveal of a wall opening, which is attached to the outer surface of the frame by means of adhesive tape.
- the chamber profile has a slit-shaped partition, in which a flat cover profile is guided and can be pushed in the direction of the building wall. At the transition to the wall, there is an all-round vapour-tight seal using acrylic paste.
- the object of the invention is to improve a cover strip for attaching to a built-in part at the transition to an adjacent wall or plaster area and a method for attaching such a cover strip to a built-in part in such a way that the cover strip can be manufactured and installed easily and inexpensively. Furthermore, long-term tightness should also be ensured in the event of relative movements between the wall and the built-in part.
- a cover strip according to claim 1 in particular in that the sealing tab is movably guided with a second edge area in a U-shaped receptacle of the cover profile, the sealing tab having a foot area with the adhesive bead that can be fastened on the component side, a flexible intermediate area and a has end-side guide area.
- Two sealing levels are thus made available, a first through the one that may be in contact with the wall or plaster area with a flexible protective lip Cover profile and a second through the guided in the U-shaped receptacle in the cover profile sealing flap which is attached to the adjacent wall or plaster area with a permanently elastic adhesive bead.
- the precise attachment of the adhesive bead to the wall or plaster area is facilitated by the U-shaped cover profile, which can be used as a handle when attaching the cover strip.
- the sealing function is retained by the tightly fitting guide surfaces in the U-shaped receptacle.
- the sealing tab has the flexible intermediate area and the head or guide area at the end.
- the flexible intermediate area of the sealing flap can be formed by material constrictions and/or by a flexible material.
- the sealing flap absorbs all component movements in the level of the built-in part, as well as movements normal to the level of the built-in part due to the flexible intermediate area.
- the in the 1 and 2 Cover strip 10 shown consists essentially of a U-shaped cover profile 11 and a sealing strip or sealing flap 12, which has a permanently elastic adhesive bead 15 on a first edge region 13 for fixing to the adjacent wall or plaster region 2.
- the sealing flap 12 protrudes with a second edge area 14 into a U-shaped receptacle 20 of the cover profile 11 and is movably guided in the longitudinal direction of the profile and in the direction of a variable distance from the wall or plaster area 2 .
- the adhesive bead 15 is arranged here on the base of a receptacle 4 which is produced by partially removing or cutting out the in-situ foam 3 at the entrance of the gap between the built-in part 1 and the wall or plaster area 2 .
- the cover strip 10 can therefore be designed to be particularly flat and elegant.
- the cover strip 10 is primarily used for renovation purposes, where after the installation of a window or door frame 1 a tight and clean finish to a layer of plaster 2 is to be produced.
- the sealing flap 12 has a foot region 17 with the adhesive bead 15 that can be fastened on the component side, a flexible intermediate region 18 and a guide region 21 at the end.
- the cover strip 10 When installing the cover strip 10, this is first glued to the plaster area 2 with the adhesive bead 15 of the sealing flap 12 (see Fig 3 ). Then the U-shaped cover profile 11 is pulled up on the sealing flap 12 (see 4 ) and tilted in the direction of arrow 25 or folded away from the built-in part. After removing a cover film, not shown here, from the adhesive tape 16, the cover profile 11 is pushed back down until a protective lip 19 arranged on the cover profile 11 in the longitudinal direction of the cover strip 10 rests elastically on the plaster area 2. Then the cover profile 11 is folded up and glued to the built-in part (see 1 ).
- the sealing flap 12 can consist entirely or partially of a plastic material with a small wall thickness in order to allow a tilting movement (see arrow 25).
- the flexurally elastic intermediate area 18 of the sealing flap 12 can be closed by material constrictions 24 (see embodiment variant according to figure 5 ) and/or be formed by a flexible material.
- the intermediate area 18 can be produced, for example, by co-extrusion of a material that is soft in relation to the foot 17 and guide area 21 .
- a protective lip 23 can be arranged or formed on the foot area 17 in the longitudinal direction of the sealing flap 12, which abuts the adjacent wall or plaster area 2 in the intended installation position of the cover strip 10.
- cover profile 11 can have a cover leg 22 directed towards the built-in part 1 on the upper edge facing away from the adjoining wall or plaster region 2, in order to produce a shapely connection to the built-in part.

- Partial removal of the in-situ foam at the entrance of the gap between the built-in part and the wall or plaster area to create a seat for the adhesive bead,
- Removing a cover film from the permanently elastic adhesive bead,
- Gluing the permanently elastic adhesive bead to the wall or plaster area, at least partially in the receptacle,
- Pull up on the sealing tab and fold away the cover profile from the built-in part, using the guide connection between the U-shaped receptacle and sealing tab,
- Removing a cover film from an adhesive tape on the cover profile, as well as
- Lower the sealing flap to the foot part and fold up the cover profile to stick the adhesive tape to the built-in part.
After the cover strip has been attached, the sealing flap absorbs all component movements in the level of the built-in part, as well as movements normal to the level of the built-in part due to the flexible intermediate area.
