Definitions

  • the invention relates to an overflow device, in particular for a washing area in the sanitary area.
  • the device for collecting a liquid which is designed, for example, in the form of a washstand, has an upper opening through which the maximum fill level is determined. As soon as the liquid accumulated in the collecting device, such as water, exceeds the maximum fill level, further water flowing into the collecting device flows through the upper opening into a drain, so that the collecting device ultimately does not overflow and thus, for example, a bathroom is not underwater can put.
  • So-called concealed overflows in which long pipes are used, are also known in sanitary practice. These pollute relatively heavily. The heat accumulates in the tubes, creating an ideal breeding climate for harmful germs.
  • the water that has built up in the pipes also usually has a direct flow connection to the water in the washstand, so that even fresh water in the washbasin can come into contact with the germs in the pipe system. In the event of a covered overflow, the water then has direct contact with the aforementioned biofilm. Washing babies or old people with water from such washbasins can be correspondingly problematic.
  • An overflow device of the type mentioned is also from EP 2 918 739 A1 known.
  • This device has a pressure sensor that detects the height of the water level, an electronic measuring and control device to which the measurement signals from the pressure sensor are transmitted, and an actuator for opening and / or closing a floor drain valve, the actuator being controlled by the measuring and control device in Depending on the water level detected by the pressure sensor is controlled.
  • overflow devices are for example from WO84 / 03116 A1 , GB 2 385 520 A and DE 20 36 586 A1 known.
  • the invention is based on the object of creating an overflow device which is more simply constructed and less problematic to handle.
  • an overflow device of the above-mentioned type with the features specified in claim 1, the valve being a magnetic valve and the adjusting device being a U-shaped magnet which, when it is close enough to the magnetic valve, this pulls it down against the lifting forces acting on the valve into its release position.
  • the overflow device which can be used in particular for a washing area in the sanitary area, has a device for collecting a liquid and a device by means of which the collecting device is prevented from overflowing, the device for preventing the collecting device from overflowing having a valve which consists of a a drainage of the liquid from the collecting device enabling release position into a blocking position preventing the outflow and vice versa can be moved, and the valve moves automatically from its blocking position to its release position when the maximum filling level of the collecting device is exceeded.
  • an “automatic process” is understood to mean a process of the valve without further aids, such as pressure sensors, electrical or electronic measuring and control devices, actuators or also mechanical aids, such as springs.
  • the valve in the sense of a double function simultaneously has the function of overflow protection and other elements, such as overflow openings in the collecting device, connecting lines from the overflow opening to the drain, covered overflows or the aforementioned electrical, electronic or mechanical aids, completely can be omitted.
  • the overflow device according to the invention is thus constructed in a simple and secure manner on the one hand and, on the other hand, very unproblematic to handle as far as the germs partially located in the other elements are concerned. Since these other elements are not used, no dirt residues, biofilms or germs can form in them.
  • the valve can be moved from its blocking position into its release position by forces acting on it from the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column, buoyancy and weight.
  • the level of the hydrostatic pressure in relation to the buoyancy counteracting the former is therefore the trigger for moving the valve from its blocking position into its release position or leaving it in its blocking position. It follows that the liquid in the collecting device monitors itself to a certain extent. If the hydrostatic pressure rises above a threshold value, it pushes the valve against the buoyancy from its blocking position into its release position. As long as the hydrostatic pressure is below the threshold value, the valve remains in its blocking position.
  • the valve has a round, oval, elliptical or a rectangular, in particular square, cross-sectional area, the valve having an upper sealing section which, in the blocking position, preferably seals the collecting device in a linear manner.
  • the collecting device has a liquid-filled container, preferably a siphon, which at least partially receives the valve, the container, preferably a siphon, preferably being arranged directly below the collecting device.
  • the siphon has, in addition to its function of forming an odor trap, also the function of accommodating the valve.
  • Siphons designed in the usual way are arranged significantly deeper than the siphon according to the invention. As a result, short paths can be implemented for the liquid flowing out of the collecting device, so that the overflow device according to the invention can ultimately also be produced very cost-effectively.
  • the siphon according to the invention thus also blocks significantly less drawer space below the washing area, for example below the washstand, so that expensive siphon cutouts can be avoided or dispensed with in such drawers.
  • the valve in the container filled with liquid, preferably a siphon is advantageously preloaded into its blocking position by buoyancy forces acting on the valve. It follows that the valve is at least partially immersed in the liquid in the container, preferably the siphon, and is pressed or acted upon by buoyancy forces against gravity, i.e. upwards, into its blocking position.
  • an adjusting device is provided by means of which the valve arranged in the container, preferably a siphon, can be moved into its release position.
  • the valve through a Actuation of the adjustment device can be moved by gravity, ie downwards, so that the aforementioned buoyancy forces can no longer hold the valve in its blocking position.
  • the liquid such as water
  • the collecting device such as the washstand. The water cannot build up in the collecting device.
  • the valve moves automatically out of its release position back into its blocking position when the maximum fill level of the collecting device is undershot and the adjusting device is not acting or not being actuated.
  • the overflow device according to the invention can thus also be used to maintain or regulate a desired fill level in a collecting device into which liquid continuously flows.
  • the invention relates generally to an overflow device.
  • the invention relates to a washing area in the sanitary area, such as, for example, a washstand, also called a wash basin, or a bathtub.
  • a washstand also called a wash basin
  • a bathtub in the sanitary area.
  • hatchings symbolize a section and are omitted for the sake of simplicity and clarity.
  • An overflow device 1 for a washing area 2 in the sanitary area is shown schematically in a partial vertical section in various working positions in FIG Figs. 1 to 3 shown.
  • a first working position is shown in which the overflow device 1 allows liquid, such as water, to drain out of the washstand 2.
  • the overflow device 1 has a device 3 for collecting the liquid 5 flowing, for example, from a tap 4, such as a mixer tap, also called a mixer fitting.
  • a tap 4 such as a mixer tap, also called a mixer fitting.
  • the collecting device 3 is, for example, a basin or a tub.
  • the overflow device 1 has a device 6 by means of which the collecting device 3 is prevented from overflowing.
  • the device 6 for preventing the collecting device 3 from overflowing has a valve 7. This valve can be moved from a release position which enables the liquid 5 to flow out of the collecting device 3 into a blocking position which prevents flow and vice versa.
  • the release position of the valve 7 is, for example, in the Fig. 1 and 3 , the blocking position of the valve 7 in Fig. 2 shown.
  • the washing area 2 with its collecting device 3 is attached to a wall 10 in a manner not shown in detail.
  • the collecting device 3 preferably has an outflow opening 11 at its lowest point, which is connected via a siphon 12 and a pipe 13 leading to the wall 10 to an outflow (not shown in detail).
  • Fig. 1 the overflow device 1 is shown in its first working position which enables liquid to flow out of the collecting device 3.
  • the liquid 5 flowing into the collecting device 3 via the tap 4 can flow along the arrows A through the drain opening 11, the siphon 12 and the pipeline 13 to the drain, not shown in detail.
  • the liquid 5 is therefore not dammed up in the collecting device 3 in this working position.
  • This working position of the overflow device 1 is used, for example, to wash hands.
  • the valve 7 moves when a maximum fill level 14 is exceeded (see Fig. 2 and 3 ) the collecting device 3 automatically moves from its locked position into its release position, so that excess liquid can flow out of the collecting device.
  • the valve 7 can be transferred from its blocking position to its release position and vice versa solely by the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column 15 above the valve 7, without further aids being required for switching the valve. This applies in particular when the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column 15 located above the valve 7 exceeds a certain threshold value, which is also determined by the buoyancy of the valve.
  • the valve opens so that liquid located above the maximum fill level 14 flows out of the collecting device 3.
  • the valve 7 has a round, oval, elliptical or a rectangular, in particular square, cross-sectional area 16.
  • the valve 7 also has an upper sealing section 17 which, in the blocking position of the valve 7, seals the collecting device 3 in a linear manner on an annular sealing lip 20 seated in the discharge opening 11, as shown in FIG Fig. 2 is indicated.
  • the collecting device 3 is sealed so that liquid 5 flowing into the collecting device 3 collects in the collecting device 3 and accumulates in this in the direction of the upward arrow B.
  • Figs. 1 to 3 is a with Liquid-filled container at least partially receiving the valve 7, preferably the siphon 12, arranged directly below the collecting device 3.
  • the container, preferably siphon 12, is therefore fluidically seated connected directly below the drainage opening 11 of the collecting device 3.
  • the siphon 12 as is common practice and in the Figs. 1 to 3 indicated, with the liquid 5 is filled.
  • the container filled with liquid and at least partially accommodating the valve according to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, is not necessarily designed as a siphon.
  • the "overflow" and "siphon" functions can also be separated according to an embodiment not shown in detail.
  • the siphon according to another embodiment, not shown in detail can also be arranged under the collecting device leaving a gap, that is to say it does not necessarily have to be arranged directly under the collecting device.
  • valve 7 in the container filled with liquid 5, namely the siphon 12, is preloaded into its blocking position by buoyancy forces acting on the valve 7.
  • the valve therefore also has the function of a float.
  • the totality of the forces acting on the valve 7, here in particular the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column, buoyancy and weight forces, thus cause the valve 7 to seal itself off in its collecting device 3 if the buoyancy exceeds the pressure of the liquid column and the weight force Locked position.
  • This blocking position of the valve 7 thus corresponds to the second working position of the overflow device 1; this is maintained until the level built up in the collecting device 3 has reached and exceeded the maximum level 14.
  • an adjusting device 21 is provided, by means of which the valve 7 arranged in the container, preferably siphon 12, can be moved into its release position.
  • the adjusting device 21 thus brings about a transfer of the valve 7 from its blocking position to its release position. Since the valve, as mentioned above, is preloaded in its blocking position, the adjustment device 21 effects an adjustment of the valve seated in the container, preferably siphon 12, against its buoyancy forces, so that the valve is in its lower release position and no longer in its preloaded position upper locked position.
  • the adjusting device 21 is like that Figs. 1 to 3 show a U-shaped magnet 22, for example a permanent magnet, which, when it is close enough to the magnetic valve 7, pulls it downward against the lifting forces acting on the valve.
  • the adjusting device 21 is in its actuated, ie active position, while the adjusting device 21 is in the Fig. 2 and 3 is in its non-actuated, ie passive position.
  • the adjusting device 21 is in the Fig. 2 and 3 moved away from the siphon 12 and thus from the valve 7, while according to FIG Fig. 1 is located directly on the siphon 12 and can thus act on the valve 7.
  • the valve 7 moves automatically out of its release position into its blocking position when the maximum fill level 14 of the collecting device 3 and non-acting, ie passive adjustment device 21 is undershot.
  • the overflow device 1 according to the invention can also be used as a device for regulating the fill level, by means of which only excess liquid is drained off (see arrow C in Fig. 3 ) and the filling level in the collecting device is almost constant.
  • the valve 7 therefore oscillates in the direction of the double arrow D continuously and automatically between its release and blocking positions.
  • the valve opens as soon as the weight of the liquid column or the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column together with the weight of the valve is greater than the buoyancy of the float valve in the container, preferably a siphon.
  • the valve closes. The resulting force acting on the valve thus brings about a transfer of the valve either to its blocking position or to its release position
