Definitions
- the invention relates to a holding screen for holding a hearing device or a hearing device part in the ear of a person wearing the hearing device (hereinafter also referred to as "user").
- the invention further relates to a method for using the holding screen, to a hearing aid that includes the holding screen, and to the use of an indicator material for producing or coating a holding screen.
- a hearing aid is used to supply a hearing-impaired person with acoustic ambient signals, which are processed and in particular amplified to compensate for the particular hearing impairment.
- a hearing aid usually comprises an input converter, for example in the form of a microphone, a signal processing unit with an amplifier, and an output converter.
- the output converter is usually implemented as a miniature speaker and is also referred to as a handset or receiver. In particular, it generates acoustic output signals that are directed to the patient's hearing and generate the desired hearing perception.
- BTE hearing aids (behind-the-ear, also behind-the-ear or BTE)
- a housing with components such as a battery and the signal processing unit is worn behind the ear.
- the receiver can either be arranged directly in the ear canal of the wearer (so-called ex-hearing hearing aids or receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aids).
- the receiver is arranged within the housing itself and a flexible sound tube, also known as a tube, guides the acoustic output signals of the receiver from the housing to the ear canal (Tube hearing aids).
- ITE hearing aids in-the-ear, also IDO or in-the-ear
- a housing that contains all functional components including the microphone and the receiver is at least partially worn in the ear canal.
- CIC (Completely-in-Canal) hearing aids are similar to ITE hearing aids, but are worn entirely in the ear canal.
- An "instant fit hearing aid” is a design of an in-the-ear hearing aid in which the housing has a standard shape that is not individually adapted, with a flexible holding screen on the housing with which the hearing aid can be fastened in the auditory canal is put on.
- a flexible holder umbrella (often also referred to as a dome) is sometimes used for RIC hearing aids or BTE hearing aids to hold the external handset or the sound tube.
- the holding screen In addition to fixing the position, the holding screen also serves as an acoustic seal in the ear canal.
- a holding umbrella is exposed to dirt such as cerumen (colloquially: "ear wax") or sweat when it is used. These can block a sound opening in the holding screen through which sound generated by the hearing aid is directed into the user's ear. This at least affects the sound quality. In the worst case, a receiver carried by the holding screen can be damaged by penetrating dirt. Since proper cleaning of the holding umbrella is not guaranteed for every user, it is recommended to replace an inserted holding umbrella with a new one at regular intervals.
- the invention has for its object to provide a holding screen for holding a hearing aid or a hearing aid part in the ear of a person wearing the hearing aid, which is set up to support the user in carrying out a regular exchange.
- the holding screen for holding a hearing device or a hearing device part in the ear of a user wearing the hearing device comprises an indicator material which changes perceptibly as a function of the duration of use of the holding screen, so that a exceeding of a recommended maximum use time based on the change in the indicator Material is recognizable.
- a certain measure of the change serves as a criterion that a recommended maximum period of use of the holding screen has been reached or exceeded.
- the user is signaled by a certain change in the indicator material to replace the holding screen.
- the term “comprises” refers to the fact that, in the context of the invention, the holding screen is made entirely or partially from the time-dependent variable indicator material. That it is equally possible within the scope of the invention that the body of the holding screen consists entirely or partially of the indicator material or that the surface of the holding screen is completely or partially provided with a coating consisting of the indicator material.
- the holding screen is initially attached to a hearing device as intended and worn as intended at the beginning of its duration of use.
- the indicator material of the holding umbrella changes perceptibly.
- the holding screen is replaced when it can be seen from the change in the indicator material that a recommended maximum use of the holding screen has been reached or exceeded.
- the indicator material signals to the user when the holding screen should be replaced as recommended, a regular replacement of the holding screen is advantageously largely ensured.
- a regular replacement of the holding screen is advantageously largely ensured.
- the holding screen comprises an indicator material that degrades, in particular biodegrades, depending on the duration of use.
- the holding screen is made entirely or partially from the indicator material.
- a flexible screen section of the holding screen is made from the indicator material.
- the indicator material becomes brittle or hard after a certain period of use due to the degradation. This change in flexibility serves as a tangible criterion for replacing the holding umbrella.
- the exchange of the holding umbrella is forced to a certain extent due to the reduced wearing comfort.
- the production of the holding screen from a degradable indicator material, in particular from a biodegradable / compostable material, is also advantageous in itself for environmental protection reasons in view of the immense amounts of plastic waste that is produced.
- the holding screen comprises a section that is covered by a layer of a degradable indicator material that is different in color from the section.
- the layer of a different color degrades depending on the period of use of the holding screen, so that the section of the holding screen initially covered becomes visible after a certain period of use. This results in a visible change in color of the holding screen or a section of the holding screen depending on the duration of use. As soon as the initially covered section of the holding screen becomes visible, the holding screen must be replaced.
- the holding screen comprises an indicator material that changes color depending on the duration of use.
- the term "discolor” includes both a change in the color itself (the hue) and a change in the color intensity.
- a complete or almost complete color change preferably a complete or almost complete fading of the color, serves as a visible criterion for the user to replace the holding screen.
- a hearing aid according to the invention comprises a holding screen as described above.
- the hearing aid is, in particular, a hearing aid that enables users with reduced hearing to have normal acoustic perception.
- Hearing aids for normal hearing users such as e.g. headphones worn in the ear.
- FIG. 1 A holding screen 2 (“ear dome”) is shown with a view of a front side 4 according to a first embodiment.
- the holding screen 2 can, for example, be plugged onto an external loudspeaker (receiver) of a RIC hearing device or onto the sound tube of a BTE hearing device.
- the holding screen 2 is intended to be inserted into an ear of a user wearing the hearing device, so that the front side 4 faces the inner ear of the user, while a rear side 6 of the holding screen 2 opposite the front side 4 faces the outer ear.
- the holding screen 2 comprises a flexible screen section 10 and a fastening section 12.
- the flexible screen section 10 lies against an auditory canal wall of the user.
- the screen section 10 has approximately the shape of a thin-walled screen / a mushroom / a dome. Continuously in the axial direction, a plurality of openings 14 are formed in the screen section 10, as a result of which the shape flexibility of the screen section 10 is increased.
- the fastening section 12 has a fastening opening 16 on the rear, which serves to fix the holding screen 2 to the loudspeaker or sound tube in a force-fitting manner.
- the holding screen 2 has a plurality of sound openings 18 through which sound generated by the hearing aid is conducted into the user's ear. Dirt, such as ear wax in particular, can clog the sound openings 18.
- the fastening section 12 is made of a plastic that is intended to fade over time.
- the holding screen 2 is shown in an unused state at the beginning of an application period in which the holding screen 2 is used.
- the fastening section 12 has a strong color, for example red.
- Fig. 2 the holding screen 2 is shown in a used condition during its period of use.
- the fastening section 12 assigns one in comparison Fig. 1 slightly lighter color.
- Fig. 3 the holding umbrella is shown after an application period of about four weeks. At this time, the color of the fixing portion 12 is completely removed. The complete fading of the fastening section 12 serves as a visible criterion for the user that the holding screen 2 has reached its maximum application time (the maximum recommended wearing time) and must be replaced.
- the plastic from which the fastening section 12 is made, or a dye with which the plastic is colored thus serves as the indicator material M.
- Suitable indicator materials are thermoplastic polyesters such as polylactide (PLA), polyglycolide (PGA) or their copolymer, that is to say a composition of PLA and PGA to form polylactide-co-glycolide (PLGA). These are biodegradable polymers, which due to their low bending strength and low water absorption are well suited for use in the inner ear.
- PLA polylactide
- PGA polyglycolide
- PLGA polylactide-co-glycolide
- pigments are added (during processing).
- iron (III) oxide is used as a suitable pigment for obtaining a red color.
- other mineral pigments metal oxides are used to color the indicator material in a wide variety of colors.
- Fig. 4 the holding screen 2 is shown in an alternative embodiment.
- the screen section 10 is bell-shaped here designed and executed without breakthroughs.
- the entire holding screen 2 ie both the screen section 10 and the fastening section 12
- the holding screen 2 is colored bright red at the beginning of its duration of use.
- the color of the holding umbrella 2 is visibly reduced after a wearing time of about two weeks.
- the color of the holding screen 2 is completely removed, causing the user to dispose of the holding screen 2 and replace it with a new one.
- the holding screen 2 (regardless of the embodiment) is preferably made of a biodegradable indicator material such as the above-mentioned thermoplastic polyesters PLA, PGA or PLGA, so that it can be composted after it is disposed of without polluting the environment.
- a biodegradable indicator material such as the above-mentioned thermoplastic polyesters PLA, PGA or PLGA, so that it can be composted after it is disposed of without polluting the environment.

Abstract
Description
Darin zeigen:
- Fig. 1 bis Fig. 3
- Fig. 4 bis Fig. 6
- in Darstellung gemäß
- In
- In
- In
- In
