Description

The invention relates to the field of motor vehicles, more particularly to the field of controls for the exterior opening of a motor vehicle door.

The standards in the event of side impacts require that the vehicle opening exterior opening control handles remain closed in the event of such impacts.

The published patent document WO 2014/055902 A1 discloses an exterior opening control for a motor vehicle door comprising an inertial blocking system in the event of a side impact on the door. The system includes an inertial element associated with the handle mounting frame. The inertial element has a center of gravity offset with respect to its axis of rotation and is configured to pivot between a rest position where it allows the opening of the sash and a blocking position of the sash, in the event of side impact.

The published patent document EP 1 766 164 B1 discloses a motor vehicle exterior opening control comprising an articulated handle with an oscillating wheel. The control includes an inertial blocking system for the sash in the event of a side impact. The system comprises a rocker arm provided with an inertial element, said rocker arm being configured to pivot from a rest position to an active position in the event of a side impact, in which it prevents the opening of the external control. The balance comprises a pin and a stop. In the event of an impact, the balance tilts and the stopper intercepts a shoulder of the wheel in order to block it, also blocking the pivoting of the handle. Similarly, during pivoting in the active position, the lug hooks into an orifice of a locking strip, maintaining the rocker arm in the active position. The exterior opening control is thus locked.

Les documents WO2009034035 , EP3075929 , FR2940813 , FR2876135 décrivent des poignées comportant un système de blocage inertiel.The documents WO2009034035 , EP3075929 , FR2940813 , FR2876135 describe handles comprising an inertial blocking system.

When mounting the exterior opening control, the inertial element can be manually touched by an assembly operator and switch to the active position, thus causing the activation of the blocking system. The exterior opening control is therefore no longer operational and it is therefore necessary to carry out the unlocking of the control, which increases the assembly time of the opening controls.

The object of the invention is to overcome at least one of the drawbacks of the aforementioned state of the art. More particularly, the object of the invention is to provide an external opening control making it possible to avoid manual activation of the blocking system when said control is fitted. The invention also aims to provide a simple, economical and robust solution.

The subject of the invention is an exterior opening control for a motor vehicle door comprising a support; a handle mounted on the support, able to pivot in an opening direction to control a lock of the opening for the opening of said opening; a blocking system mounted on the support, with a mobile inertial element capable of moving, in the event of acceleration undergone by the opening control, from a rest position to a blocking position so as to block the control of said lock by said handle when said inertial element is in the blocking position; noteworthy in that the opening control comprises a protective barrier for the movable inertial element, located on a side of said element which is opposite to the opening direction of the handle, said barrier protecting said element from manipulation by an operator mounting the control on the opening.

The barrier is advantageously configured to avoid the presence of a passage with a dimension of more than 15 mm, preferably 10 mm, vis-à-vis the mobile inertial element.

According to an advantageous mode of the invention, the support extends along a main plane and the barrier extends parallel to said plane along the mobile inertial element.

According to the invention, the blocking system comprises automatic means for maintaining the mobile inertial element in the blocking position.

According to the invention, the automatic holding means comprise an elastic tongue and a lug on the movable inertial element capable of deforming the tongue and coming into abutment with an edge of said tongue.

According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the tongue has a main direction undergoing bending during the deformation of said tongue, the protective barrier extending transversely to the direction. The bending then takes place transversely to a mean plane of the tongue before deformation.

According to the invention, the protective barrier is formed by a plate adjacent to the tongue and fixed to the support.

According to the invention, said control comprises an arm pivotally mounted on the support cooperating with the handle so as to be set in motion by said handle and comprising a zone for fixing a cable for controlling the lock, the mobile inertial element of the locking system being configured to cooperate directly with said arm when locking the lock control.

According to the invention, the plate forming the protective barrier supports one end of a pivot of the arm pivotally mounted on the support.

The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising at least one opening with an exterior opening control, noteworthy in that the exterior opening control is in accordance with the invention.

The invention is interesting in that it proposes a control for external opening of the leaf comprising a protective barrier for the inertial element. The protective barrier allows the opening control to be mounted on the opening without the risk of touching the inertial element. The protective barrier thus makes it possible to prevent manual activation of the blocking system and to avoid alterations to the assembly of the control. The protective barrier also makes it possible to stiffen the support and to avoid phenomena of bending of the support which can cause the opening of the leaf to open.

There figure 1 represents an exterior opening control 2 of a motor vehicle door, according to a first embodiment but not according to the invention. The external opening control 2 is shown from inside the opening. Control 2 includes a support 6 intended to be fixed behind the outer face of the opening. The support 6 extends along a main plane, generally parallel to the general plane of the opening. The opening control 2 also includes a handle movably mounted on the support 6, on the outer side of the opening. The handle is not shown, only a housing 8 of the handle formed by an extension of the support 6 is shown. The handle is capable of pivoting from a rest position in an opening direction of the leaf to control a lock of the leaf with a view to opening said leaf. The opening direction of the sash is oriented towards the rear of the plane of the figure 1 . The lock is not shown. The handle is mounted on a handle support 10 disposed on the inside of the opening, on the control support. The handle support 10 can be connected to an elastic return element 12, such as a torsion spring, so as to return the handle to the rest position.

The opening control 2 comprises an arm 14 pivotally mounted on the support 6 and cooperating with the handle, more particularly with the handle support 10. The arm 14 pivotally mounted on the support 6 cooperates with the handle support 10 so as to be set in motion by said handle and cooperates more particularly with an element 15 of the handle support. The pivotally mounted arm 14 comprises a zone 16 for fixing a cable 33 (shown in figure 2 And 3 ) connected to the sash lock. The pivotally mounted arm 14 is configured to pivot from a rest position, in which it does not pull on the cable 33 so as not to actuate the lock so as not to open the leaf, in an unlocking direction d where the arm 14 pulls on the cable 33 so as to unlock the lock, thus allowing the opening of the opening.

The external opening control 2 comprises a blocking system 18 mounted on the support.

La commande d'ouverture 2 n'est alors plus opérationnelle.THE figure 2 And 3 represent a detail view of order 2 of the figure 1 . In the figure 2 , the locking system 18 is in a rest position, and in the picture 3 in a blocking position. The blocking system 18 comprises a mobile inertial element 20 capable of moving, in the event of acceleration of the control 2, into a blocking position from a rest position, so as to block the lock control. For example, if the opening is a vehicle side door, the acceleration of the control 2 is caused during a side impact against the vehicle by the movement of said vehicle and the deformation of the door which receives the impact. The inertial element 20 is also known by the term weight. The inertial element 20 is configured to cooperate directly with the pivotally mounted arm 14, when the lock control is blocked. More particularly, the inertial element 20 may comprise an abutment surface 22. When the inertial element 20 pivots into the locking position, the abutment surface 22 comes into contact with an end 24 of the pivotally mounted arm 14 and thus prevents its pivoting in the unlocking direction of the lock. The exterior opening control 2 is thus locked. The blocking system 18 comprises automatic means 26 for maintaining the inertial element in the blocking position. The automatic holding means 26 may comprise an elastic tongue 28 and a lug 30 on the inertial element 20 able to deform the tongue 28 when the inertial element 20 is in the rest position and to come into abutment with an edge of said tongue. 28 when the inertial element 20 is in the blocking position. In the blocking position, the inertial element 20 can no longer pivot and return to the rest position because it is kept blocked by the abutment of the lug 30 against the edge of the tongue 28. The tongue 28 has a main direction undergoing bending during the deformation of said tongue 28. The tongue 28 extends transversely along a portion of the inertial element 20. The tongue 28 can be fixed on the support 6 or come from the same with the support 6. If, during assembly of the opening control 2 on a vehicle, an assembly operator touches the mobile inertial element 28 in the rest position and pivots it into the locking position, the control d external opening 2 can no longer operate the lock. The opening control 2 is then no longer operational.

La barrière de protection 32 est ainsi formée par la languette élastique 28.In order to avoid this problem when mounting the external opening control 2, said external opening control 2 comprises a protective barrier 32 of the mobile inertial element 20. The protective barrier 32 is represented in transparency with figure 2 And 3 in order to facilitate understanding of the blocking system 18. The protective barrier 32 protects the inertial element 20 from manipulation by an operator mounting the control on the opening. The protective barrier 32 is located on a side of the mobile inertial element 20 which is opposite to the opening direction of the handle. The protective barrier 32 extends parallel to the plane of the support 6, along the mobile inertial element 20 and extends transversely to the main direction of the tongue 28, vis-à-vis the inertial element 28 The protective barrier 32 is thus formed by the elastic tab 28.

There figure 4 shows a front view of an exterior opening control 102 of a motor vehicle door, according to a second embodiment in this case according to the invention. There figure 4 repeats the numbering of the previous figures for identical or similar elements, the numbering being however incremented by 100. Reference is also made to the description of these elements in relation to the first embodiment. Specific numbers are used for elements specific to this embodiment.

According to this second embodiment, the protective barrier 132 of the inertial element 120 is formed by a plate adjacent to the tongue 128 and fixed to the support 106. The plate forming the protective barrier 132 can be integral with the support 106 or screwed onto said support 106. The plate forming the protective barrier 132 supports one end of a pivot 134 of the arm 114 pivotally mounted on the support 106. More particularly, the plate comprises an extension 136 covering the arm 114 and supporting the end of the pivot 134 of the arm pivotally mounted on the support.

Advantageously, the plate forming the protective barrier 132 is perforated and forms ribs. The openings have a main dimension or an average diameter of less than 10 mm, so as to prevent the entry of a finger of an assembly operator.

The protective barrier 32.132 of the inertial element 20.120 of the two embodiments also has the advantage of reinforcing the support, thus making it possible to limit bending phenomena of the support which can lead to opening of the opening.
