Description

The invention relates to an applicator for a cosmetic product and an associated applicator assembly.

Applicators are known for a cosmetic product, in particular intended to be applied to the eyelashes such as mascara, comprising a core extending in a main longitudinal direction and a plurality of protuberances distributed along the core and projecting from said core. .

Conventionally, the applicator comprises zones exhibiting greater flexibility in order to obtain, at these zones, greater precision during the application of the cosmetic product. For this, it is for example known to assign these areas protuberances of greater length and therefore greater flexibility.

Such protuberances are effective for combing the eyelashes, in particular because they make it possible to separate the eyelashes from one another and to lengthen them, during the application of the cosmetic product.

However, such protuberances are often too wrung out, when the applicator is extracted from the container comprising the cosmetic product and the neck provided with a wringer of said container wrings out the plurality of protuberances of said applicator. The longest protuberances are therefore often insufficiently loaded with cosmetic product so that after application of the cosmetic product, the eyelashes may lack volume.

There are several solutions for increasing the flexibility of an applicator and / or the storage of cosmetic product.

For example, the document FR3 004 906 discloses an applicator comprising a core having a plurality of grooves which increase its flexibility and the document FR3 018 436 discloses an applicator comprising a core having at least one flexion zone.

In another example, the document FR3 017 782 discloses an applicator comprising a core and a plurality of protuberances forming at least one row of trays forming angular interstices between said trays.

The object of the present invention is to propose an alternative solution for creating zones of flexibility along the applicator.

Thus, the invention relates to an applicator for a cosmetic product comprising a core extending in a main longitudinal direction of extension, called main direction, and a plurality of protrusions protruding from the core.

According to the invention, the core comprises a plurality of zones of flexibility successively arranged along the main direction, at the level of which the core is thinned along a substantially orthogonal thinning axis by relative to the main direction so as to form two radially opposite cavities with respect to said main direction, the applicator comprising at least one zone of flexibility having a thinning axis angularly offset with respect to the thinning axis of a zone of flexibility which is adjacent to it.

The zones of flexibility provided on the core make it possible to confer flexibility on the protuberances arranged at the level of said zones of flexibility without it being necessary to play on the length of said protuberances. Thus, it is possible to apply the cosmetic product with more precision in the areas of flexibility, while ensuring that the protuberances are sufficiently loaded with cosmetic product. In other words, the protuberances which are located at these zones do not have to have too great a length to ensure the desired flexibility. In other words, the protuberances which are located at the level of these zones do not have to be lengthened to ensure the desired flexibility.

This makes it possible to comb the eyelashes while giving them volume, during the application of the cosmetic product.

Furthermore, the cavities produced by thinning the core at the level of said zones of flexibility form cosmetic product reservoirs. This also helps to ensure a sufficient load of the protuberances, during the application of the cosmetic product.

In addition, the fact of angularly shifting, from one zone of flexibility to another, the thinning carried out at the level of said zones of flexibility has the effect of obtaining, in the main direction, a flexible core around different axes of flexion. . This has the advantage of not requiring a user to give the applicator a specific initial orientation before applying the cosmetic product. In other words, the user does not have to learn a new gesture to use this applicator.

The invention also advantageously relates to an applicator assembly for a cosmetic product, comprising a container comprising a body forming a reservoir intended to contain the cosmetic product, and an applicator as described above configured to move relative to the container between a container. closed position of the assembly in which the applicator is fixed to the container and the applicator is housed inside the reservoir, and an open position of the assembly in which the applicator releases the container and the applicator is placed outside the reservoir.

The figures 1 to 4 and 5a, 5b show an applicator 10 for a cosmetic product according to one embodiment of the invention. The cosmetic product is intended in particular to be applied to the eyelashes, such as mascara.

The applicator 10 comprises a core 11 extending in a main longitudinal direction of extension X, referred to as the main direction X, and a plurality of protuberances 12 projecting from the core 11. The term “protrusions protruding from the core 11” is understood to mean. from the web ”that the protrusions 12 include a base lying at the level of the web 11 and which extend in the direction of an opposite free end 24.

The core 11 further comprises a plurality of flexibility zones 13a, 13b successively arranged along the main direction X, at the level of which the core 11 is thinned along a thinning axis 14a, 14b substantially orthogonal with respect to the main direction X so as to form two cavities 15a, 15b radially opposed with respect to said main direction X. (see figures 1 , 2 and 4 ).

This thinning is carried out, along the thinning axis 14a, 14b, both on one side and the other of the main direction X, thus forming the two cavities 15a, 15b. In other words, at the level of each zone of flexibility 13a, 13b, the core 11 is thinned in a generally symmetrical manner on either side of the main direction X.

In this way, the core 11 is more flexible at the level of the cavities 15a, 15b of the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b, this flexibility being transmitted to the protuberances 12 arranged at the level of said cavities 15a, 15b in order in particular to apply the cosmetic product with more precision at the level of these zones of flexibility 13a, 13b. Thus, it is possible to locally increase the precision of the applicator 10 without, however, increasing the length of the protuberances 12 in order to increase their flexibility and therefore without losing the load of cosmetic product on said protuberances 12. The applicator 10 therefore allows both combing the eyelashes and giving them volume, during the application of the cosmetic product. In addition, the cavities 15a, 15b form cosmetic product reservoirs, thus making it possible to load the protuberances 12 more with cosmetic product in order to give more volume to the eyelashes, during the application of said cosmetic product.

At least one of the flexibility zones 13a, 13b has a thinning axis 14a, 14b angularly offset, around the main direction X, with respect to the thinning axis 14b, 14a of a flexibility zone 13b , 13a which is adjacent to it. The term “angularly offset” is understood to mean the fact that said thinning axes 14a, 14b together form a non-zero offset angle α which is strictly less than 180 °. The offset angle α is visible on the figures 3 and 4 . The term “angularly offset” also means the fact that said thinning axes 14a, 14b are not mutually parallel.

In this way, the core 11 has zones of flexibility 13a, 13b which can each flex around an axis 22, said transverse axis, orthogonal to the main direction X and to the thinning axis 14a, 14b associated with said zone of flexibility 13a, 13b, these transverse axes 22 possibly being different from one zone of flexibility 13a, 13b to another. Thus, it is not necessary to give the applicator 10 a specific initial orientation before applying the cosmetic product, the applicator 10 being flexible, along the core 11, around several transverse axes 22. L The user of the applicator of the invention therefore does not have to adapt his usual gestures.

The core 11 is here represented full. It may however be hollow without departing from the scope of the invention.

L'extrémité libre 20 présente par exemple une surface plane 21 agencée perpendiculairement à la direction principale X. L'extrémité libre 20 est dépourvue de protubérances 12.The core 11 comprises, in the main direction X, a proximal end 16 extended by a sleeve 17 devoid of protuberances and a distal end 18 opposite to the proximal portion 16. The sleeve 17 is intended to cooperate with a rod (not shown) . The distal end 18 comprises a free end 20. The free end 20 has for example a flat surface 21 arranged perpendicular to the main direction X. The free end 20 is devoid of protrusions 12.

En variante, l'extrémité libre 20 pourra présenter des protubérances 12.As a variant, the free end 20 may have protrusions 12.

The core 11 can comprise a succession of zones of flexibility 13a, 13b having thinning axes 14a, 14b which are angularly offset with respect to each other, around the main direction X.

The core 11 comprises for example an alternation of first zones of flexibility 13a whose thinning axes 14a are mutually parallel and of second zones of flexibility 13b whose thinning axes 14b are parallel to each other and angularly offset with respect to each other. thinning axes 14a of the first flexibility zones 13a, around the main direction X ( figures 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5a and 5b ).

By way of example, every second zone of flexibility, along the main direction X, is a first zone of flexibility 13a and every second zone of flexibility, along the main direction X, is a second zone of flexibility 13b. Other patterns of first and second zones of flexibility 13a, 13b can be provided without departing from the scope of the invention. In particular, it is possible to have a succession of at least two first zones of flexibility 13a with one or more second zones of flexibility 13b.

The offset angle α between the thinning axes 14a, 14b of the first and second flexibility zones 13a, 13b is for example between 45 and 135 °. Preferably, the offset angle α is of the order of 90 ° ( figures 1 , 2 , 4 , 5a and 5b ). In other words, the core 11 preferably comprises an alternation of zones of flexibility 13a, 13b having thinning axes 14a, 14b which are orthogonal to one another.

This is illustrated using the figures 5a and 5b which each illustrate a section of the web 11 along the main direction X, in two distinct places along this direction X - see figure 2 for positioning the cutting axis AA ( figure 5a ) and for that of the BB cut ( figure 5b ). The figure 5a illustrates a section in substantially rectangular shape, the longer side of which extends along the axis 14b; while the figure 5b illustrates a substantially rectangular section, the largest side of which extends along the axis 14a, these two axes being here orthogonal.

The zones of flexibility 13a, 13b can be located on a discrete portion of the main direction X of the core 11. In other words, the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b can be located on only part of the core 11. The zones of flexibility 13a, 13b are for example located on a portion of the core 11 (embodiments not illustrated here).

For example, they can be located on the first portion P1 of the core 11, which extends from the distal end 18 of the core 11 towards the proximal end 16 the core 11 over a distance not exceeding not half the length of the web 11 (see figure 2 for the marking of zones P1, P2 and P3).

They can also be located on the second portion P2 of the core 11, which extends between the distal end 18 of the core 11 and the proximal end 16 the core 11 over a distance not exceeding half of web length 11.

They can also be located on the third portion P3 of the core 11, which extends from the proximal end 16 of the core 11 towards the distal end 18 of the core 11 over a distance not exceeding half the length of the web 11.

They can also result from a combination of the aforementioned examples, without departing from the scope of the invention; namely, to be located on the first and second portions P1, P2, on the first and third portions P1, P3 and / or on the second and third portions P2, P3.

The cavities 15a, 15b formed by the thinning of the core 11 are for example symmetrical with respect to a plane substantially orthogonal to the thinning axis 14a, 14b which is associated with them and comprising the main direction X.

Les cavités 15a, 15b peuvent en outre être concaves suivant la direction principale X.The cavities 15a, 15b can also be concave in the main direction X.

The cavities 15a, 15b can also have a polygonal shape, for example triangular or even square or rectangular, in the main direction X. The edges of the cavities 15a, 15b can also be attenuated by fillets or rounded offs.

Cela augmente la souplesse de l'âme 11 au niveau des zones de souplesse 13a, 13b.The cavities 15a, 15b have for example a maximum dimension along the transverse axis 22 which is associated with them, called the transverse dimension D T , equal to the maximum diameter d max of the core 11 ( figure 1 ). In this way, the cavities 15a, 15b each form a groove extending along the transverse axis 22 which is associated with them, which opens out at each of its ends along said transverse axis 22. This increases the flexibility of the core 11. at the flexibility zones 13a, 13b.

La dimension longitudinale DL1 est de préférence de l'ordre de 1.8mm.The cavities 15a, 15b of the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b can be of equal maximum dimension along the main direction X, the maximum dimension known as the longitudinal dimension D L1 . The longitudinal dimension D L1 of the cavities 15a, 15b of the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b is for example between 1.5 and 15mm. The longitudinal dimension D L1 is preferably of the order of 1.8mm.

As a variant, the longitudinal dimension D L1 of the cavities 15a, 15b of the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b can vary from one zone of flexibility to another.

In addition, the cavities 15a, 15b of the flexibility zones 13a, 13b may have the same depth along the thinning axis 14a, 14b which is theirs. associate. As a variant, the depth of the cavities 15a, 15b of the flexibility zones 13a, 13b can vary from one flexibility zone to another.

The free end 20 of the core 11 has for example, along the main direction X, a shape comprising an inclined face, or even a generally pointed shape. This makes it possible to limit the accumulation of cosmetic product at said free end 20 and therefore to prevent the user's nose from being soiled when handling the applicator 10.

For this, the free end 20 of the core 11 may itself comprise a zone of flexibility 13c at the level of which said free end 20 of the core 11 is thinned along a thinning axis substantially orthogonal to the main direction. X, so as to form two radially opposed cavities 15c with respect to said main direction X ( figure 3 ).

The flexibility zone 13c of the free end 20 has a thinning axis angularly offset with respect to the thinning axis 14a of the flexibility zone 13a which is adjacent to it. The flexibility zone 13c of the free end 20 preferably has a thinning axis that is substantially orthogonal with the thinning axis 14a of the adjacent flexibility zone 13a.

Ladite dimension longitudinale DL2 sera comprise entre 0.1 et 3mm.The two cavities 15c formed at the free end 20 of the core 11 have, for example, a longitudinal dimension D L2 less than that of the cavities 15a, 15b of the other zones of flexibility 13a, 13b. Said longitudinal dimension D L2 will be between 0.1 and 3mm.

It may also be in the form of a rounded, bevelled, straight and / or chamfered end, this without departing from the scope of the invention.

The protuberances 12 extend for example radially with respect to the main direction X. In other words, the protrusions 12 project in a direction substantially normal to said main direction X, called the radial direction.

L'applicateur 10 comprend par exemple douze rangées 23 de protubérances 12.The plurality of protrusions 12 is for example distributed by rows 23 extending in the main direction X. The rows 23 of protuberances 12 are particularly visible on the line. figure 3 . The applicator 10 comprises for example twelve rows 23 of protuberances 12.

A pitch ρ between the protuberances 12 of the same row 23 is for example between 0.6 and 1.5mm. The pitch ρ between the protuberances 12 of the same row is preferably of the order of 1.25mm. Each row 23 can also have the same pitch ρ between its protuberances 12 ( figure 1 ).

The rows 23 of protuberances 12 are for example distributed uniformly around the main direction X. In other words, the protuberances 12 of each row 23 are arranged at an equal angular distance from the protuberances 12 of the rows 23 which are adjacent to them.

Figure imgb0001
The protrusions 12 of each row 23 are for example arranged at an angular distance of π 6
Figure imgb0001
rad with respect to the protuberances 12 of the rows 23 which are adjacent to it.

The protuberances 12 of two adjacent rows 23 are for example offset with respect to each other in the main direction X.

The protuberances 12 of a row 23 can also be offset by the same distance in the main direction X, with respect to the protuberances 12 of the two rows 23 which are adjacent thereto.

The protuberances 12 of a row 23 out of two are for example offset by the same distance in the main direction X, with respect to the protuberances 12 of the rows 23 which are adjacent thereto. The protuberances of one row 23 out of two can also be offset, or even staggered, along the main direction X, with respect to the protuberances 12 of the rows 23 which are adjacent to it.

It is interesting to note that the free ends 24 of the protuberances 12 together define an envelope E.

The envelope E has for example a generally frustoconical shape.

De préférence, la petite section du tronc de cône formé par l'enveloppe E est agencée en regard de l'extrémité libre 20 de l'âme 11, tandis que la grande section du tronc de cône formé par l'enveloppe E est agencée à l'opposé de l'extrémité libre 20 de l'âme 11.Preferably, the small section of the truncated cone formed by the casing E is arranged opposite the free end 20 of the core 11, while the large section of the truncated cone formed by the casing E is arranged at the opposite of the free end 20 of the core 11.

The envelope has for example a maximum diameter of between 4 and 10mm, preferably between 5 and 8mm.

The length L of the protrusions 12, defined between the main direction X and the free end 24 of the protuberances 12, varies from one row 23 of protuberances 12 to another. The term “length L of the protuberances 12” is understood to mean the radial extension of the protuberances between the X axis of the core 11 and the free end of the protuberance ”(see fig. 1 ). The length L is for example between 2.0 and 5.0mm and more particularly between 2.5 and 4.0mm.

The length L of the protuberances 12 of a row 23 out of two are, on average, less than the length L of the protrusions 12 of the rows 23 which are adjacent to it.

The length L of the protuberances 12 can also vary within the same row 23 of protuberances 12.

The length L of the protuberances 12 of the same row 23 increases for example as one moves away from the free end 20 of the core 11.

By “generally frustoconical” is meant the fact that the section of the protuberances 12 increases or decreases progressively from the base towards the free end 24 of said protuberances 12. Preferably, the base of the protuberances 12 has a larger section than the free end. 24 of said protrusions 12.

The protrusions 12 further each have a half-elliptical - for example half-oval - shaped section forming a flat surface 25, and are positioned so that the flat surfaces 25 of the protrusions 12 are oriented in the same gyratory direction.

The core 11 may include protuberances 12 projecting from the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b of the core 11.

No protuberance 12 can alternatively extend from one, more or all of the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b of the core 11.

Les protubérances 12 sont par exemple issues de matière de l'âme 11.The protuberances 12 are for example made from material of the core 11.

The core 11 can be a molded core, in particular made of plastic. The core 11 and the protuberances 12 are for example molded together. The protuberances 12 may alternatively be overmolded on the core 12. The core 11 and the protuberances 12 may be molded from a material based on LDPE (or “low density polyethylene”). Other materials can be used, namely the “EXACT” material sold by the company ExxonMobil or the “HYTREL” material sold by the company Dupont de Nemours, or even a mixture of these materials.

Le diamètre maximum dmax de l'âme 11 est par exemple compris entre 2 et 6mm.The maximum diameter d max of the core 11 is for example between 2 and 6mm.

De telles âmes 11 seront nommées dans la suite de la description « âmes à grand diamètre ».It will be understood that the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b have a particular advantage, when the core 11 has a large maximum diameter d max , in particular a maximum diameter d max of between 4 and 6mm. Such cores 11 will be referred to in the remainder of the description as “large diameter cores”.

The large diameter webs 11 are interesting because the protuberances 12 which protrude from them are generally shorter, for the same envelope diameter E than a web 11 of smaller maximum diameter d max , so that with webs 11 with a large diameter, it is possible to attack the user's eyelashes from the root and therefore to load them more with cosmetic product, during the application of the cosmetic product. The large-diameter cores 11 thus make it possible to give volume to the user's eyelashes.

The large-diameter cores 11 are also interesting because they can accommodate a greater number of rows of protuberances 12 around the main direction X, and thus improve the combing and therefore the separation of the user's eyelashes, during the application. cosmetic product.

The large diameter cores 11 however tend to be more rigid due to their large maximum diameter d max , so that the flexibility zones 13a, 13b make it possible to counteract this tendency by giving them more flexibility and thus increasing the precision. with which the cosmetic product is applied to the eyelashes of the user.

Where appropriate, the protuberances 12 projecting from the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b of the cores 11 with a large diameter are also longer and therefore more flexible, without the maximum diameter of the envelope E being increased, so that said protuberances 12 make it possible, in complementarity with the zones of flexibility 13a, 13b, to improve the combing of the user's eyelashes and therefore the separation and lengthening of said eyelashes, during the application of the cosmetic product.

It should also be noted that the applicator 10 advantageously forms a brush.

It should be noted, again, that the invention also relates to an applicator assembly for a cosmetic product, comprising a container comprising a body forming a reservoir R intended to contain the cosmetic product, and an applicator 10 as described above configured to stand. move relative to the container between a closed position of the assembly in which the applicator 10 is attached to the container and the applicator 10 is housed inside the reservoir, and an open position of the assembly in which the applicator 10 releases the container and the applicator is placed outside the reservoir (see figure 6 ).

  • l'âme 11 comprend en outre des troisièmes zones de souplesse dont les axes d'amincissement sont parallèles entre eux et décalés angulairement par rapport aux axes d'amincissement 14a, 14b des premières et deuxièmes zones de souplesse 13a, 13b ;
  • l'âme 11 comprend une alternance de premières zones de souplesse 13a, de deuxième zones de souplesse 13b et de troisièmes zones de souplesse ;
It should also be noted that variant embodiments are of course possible. In particular, it is also conceivable, in additional exemplary embodiments, not illustrated here, that:
  • the core 11 further comprises third zones of flexibility, the thinning axes of which are mutually parallel and angularly offset with respect to the thinning axes 14a, 14b of the first and second zones of flexibility 13a, 13b;
  • the core 11 comprises an alternation of first zones of flexibility 13a, of second zones of flexibility 13b and of third zones of flexibility;
  • one out of three zones of flexibility, along the main direction X, is a first zone of flexibility 13a, one of three zones of flexibility, along the main direction X, is a second zone of flexibility 13b and one of three zones of flexibility, according to the main direction X is a third flexibility zone.
  • the thinning axes 14a, 14b of the first, second and third flexibility zones 13a, 13b respectively form an offset angle α of the order of 60 ° between them.
