Abstract

The invention relates to a pack for cigarettes or rod-form articles, having a box part (11), which is delimited at least by a front wall (15), a rear wall (12), side walls (16, 17) and a base wall (14), wherein the box part (11) serves for accommodating at least one preferably cuboidal cigarette group (29), or group of rod-form articles, wrapped in an inner blank (30), and wherein the pack (10) has predetermined dimensions relating to the width, the depth and the height, and at least one dimension of the at least one cigarette group (29), or of the group of rod-form articles, is smaller than a corresponding dimension of the interior of the box part (11), and therefore the at least one cigarette group (29), or the group of rod-form articles, does not fill the interior of the box part (11) as far as the at least one dimension is concerned, and wherein the box part (11) contains a collar (26), at least comprising a collar front wall (27), which butts against the front wall (15) of the box part (11), and collar side walls (28), which are adjacent to side walls (16, 17) of the box part (11). A package for solving this problem has the features of claim 1. The invention will be described below with reference to various embodiments, each of which relates to a pack 10 of the hinge-lid-pack type for cigarettes. It is explicitly pointed out that the invention may relate to other types of packs for cigarettes.

The packs 10 shown in the figures consist of a box part 1 1 and a pivotally mounted in the region of a rear wall 12 of the box part 11 lid 13. The box part 11 further consists of a (bottom) bottom wall 14 and an (upright) front wall 15, the the rear wall 12 is opposite. Side walls 16, 17 connect rear wall 12 and front wall 15 with each other and are formed from overlapping, inner and outer side flaps 18, 19. The lid 13 is made accordingly Front wall 20, rear wall 21, end wall and side walls 22, 23. The side walls 22, 23 of the lid 13 are also formed by overlapping, inner and outer side lobes 24, 25. The thus formed, cuboid pack 10 of thin cardboard is particularly suitable for receiving cigarettes or other rod-shaped objects. It is also conceivable that the inner blank 30 is formed from a film-like material, so that the cigarette group 29 can be packaged into a sealing block. In the embodiments shown, the cigarette group 29 or the cigarette block 31 is substantially cuboid-shaped, with a square or rectangular cross-section. It is understood that the cigarette group 29 or the cigarette block 31 can also have other cross-sectional shapes, for example with a trapezoidal or triangular cross-section. For reasons of linguistic simplification, the terms cigarette group or cigarette block are used synonymously for groups of rod-shaped objects, or rod-shaped objects encased in an inner blank 30.

The dimensions (width, height, depth) namely at least partially do not correspond to the corresponding dimensions of the interior of the box part 11 or the packing 10, so that a cavity is created without countermeasures would, by which the Cigarette group 29 and the cigarette block 31 would not be held securely or properly in the box part 11. Accordingly, at least one dimension of the cigarette group 29 or of the cigarette block 31 is smaller than a corresponding dimension of the interior of the box part 11 or the pack 10.

If it is pointed out in the context of this application that the dimensions (of cigarette group 29 or cigarette block 31 on the one hand and the interior of the box part 1 or the package 10 on the other) are different, this does not refer to the usual deviations in the course of dimensional and manufacturing tolerances or for the purpose of simple removal of cigarettes are usually present, but to deviations that go beyond this level. The invention relates to deviations in the dimensions that result from the fact that within the pack 10 one or more groups of cigarettes 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are received, which have a smaller volume due to the number and / or dimensions of the cigarettes than in the case of such packs 10 usual, so that there are significant differences in the dimensions, which must be compensated in a suitable manner to safely accommodate the cigarette group 29 and the cigarette block 31 despite the different dimensions in the pack 10.

In the present case, the cigarette groups 29 and the cigarette blocks 31 in all embodiments have a lower height than the interior of the box part 1 1. Accordingly, the cigarettes are shorter than usual.

Furthermore, in each embodiment, two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are provided in each package 10 as package contents. The cigarette groups 29 and cigarette blocks 31 are arranged laterally next to one another, partly at a distance from one another. It is understood that within the scope of the invention it is also possible to use packs 10 having only one cigarette group 29 or one cigarette block 31. In all embodiments, the groups of cigarettes 29 and cigarette blocks 31 are each designed to coincide, ie with the same dimensions and cigarette formations. This too does not necessarily have to be this way. Also conceivable are, in particular, different package contents in the two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 3.

In the first embodiment, the collar 26 is provided with a bottom flap 32 which supports the cigarette groups 29 and cigarette blocks 31 on the underside. In this way, the lower height of the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 is compensated, so that the top of the cigarette groups 29 and 31 cigarette blocks as usual is approximately at the level of the top of the collar 26.

The bottom flap 32 is pivotally connected to the collar front wall 27, for example, by a line joint 33 as it is formed between the lid 13 and box part 11. In this way, the bottom flap 32 extends in extension of the collar front wall 27 and continues at the bottom thereof. The bottom flap 32 is formed by folding a corresponding blank 34 (Figure 5). In this case, the bottom flap 32 is delimited via the line joint 33 with respect to the collar front wall. Opposite the adjacent collar side walls 28, the bottom flap 32 is delimited by punch cuts 35. The bottom flap 32 is folded by about 90 ° relative to the collar front wall 27 and pivoted about the line joint 33 so that it extends transversely to the collar front wall 27 in the direction of the rear wall 12 of the box part.

The thus folded bottom flap 32 is held in the folded position on the one hand by bearing projections 36 as bearing elements which are formed in the collar side walls 28 and the other by storage on a filler 37, which between the cigarette groups 29 and cigarette blocks 31 and the rear wall 12 of the Box part 1 1 is arranged and a smaller depth of the cigarette groups 29 and cigarette blocks 31 balances. For storage of the bottom flap 32, the filler 37 has an opening 38. A lower edge of the opening 38 serves as a supporting edge as a further bearing element for the bottom flap 32. The bottom flap 32 rests on the supporting edge and projects through the opening 38 in the direction of the rear wall 12 of the box part 11.

The opening 38 itself is formed in the present case by a folding pocket 39 which is bounded laterally and below by punch cuts and the upper side is connected by a line joint 40 with a front wall 41 of the filler 37. Alternatively, for example, it is also conceivable that the opening 38 is formed entirely by punching.

With the front wall 41, the filler 37 rests against the back of the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31. Furthermore, the filler 37 has side walls 42 and an end wall 43 which extend from the front wall 41 in the direction of the rear wall 12 of the box part 11. The filler 37 has neither a rear wall nor a bottom wall and communicates with the side walls 42 on the bottom wall 14 of the box part 11. On the upper side, the filling piece 37 extends to the upper end of the collar 26 and of the groups of cigarettes 29 or cigarette blocks 31. The side walls 42 lie laterally on the collar side walls 28.

The filler 37 is made by folding a corresponding blank 44 (Fig. 6) of packaging material. A peculiarity exists with regard to a coping 45, which forms the end wall 43 and is secured by a tab 46 in the folded position. For this purpose, tabs 47 of the tab 46 are inserted into slot 48 in the front wall 41. Also, corner tabs 49 in extension of the side walls 42 are held by the insertion tab 46. 4 shows a substantially standard blank 50 for the package 10 of the hinge-lid type. A special feature exists with regard to the arrangement of further bearing projections 51 as bearing elements on in each case an inner side lobe. In the production of the pack 10, the two groups of cigarettes 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are each wrapped in a section 56, 57 of the collar 26 and the support member 54 is pivoted transversely to the plane of the connecting plate 55.
