Abstract

The invention relates to a packaging, in particular a folding box for cigarettes, wherein the cover (12) is pivotably mounted on part of the box (14). A collar (19), which comprises a separate section, is arranged in the inside of the box part (14) and at least partially protrudes from the upper open box part (14). Said packaging, which is rectangular in the cross-section thereof, comprises a large front side (15) and rear side (16), in addition to two smaller sides (17, 18) having a smaller width. A linear joint (13) which is used to pivot the connection of the cover (12) with the box part (14) is arranged in the region of one of the two smaller sides (17, 18). The invention relates to a package, in particular a folding box for cigarettes, with a chess part and a lid which is pivotally mounted on the box part, as well as with a separate blank collar consisting of collar front wall and collar side walls, wherein the collar of the at least partially protrudes above open box part and wherein the pack has a large-sized front and corresponding back and two narrow sides and wherein the box part and lid in the region of a narrow side are pivotally connected to each other via a line joint.

Such packages have long been known in practice as hinge-lid packs. In connection with the arranged in the region of the narrow side of the pack line joint for pivotal connection of the lid and box part such packs are also referred to as side-lid packs. The line joint is not arranged on the large-area rear side of the pack, but on a narrow side. Such a pack is known, for example, from EP 0 693 441 A1.

The object of the present invention is to further develop the known types of packages and in particular to develop new types of packages which can be produced in a simple manner.

To solve this problem, the package according to the invention is characterized in that a separate blank is arranged in the region of the package back, which protrudes over the box part such that when the lid is closed, a corresponding closing edge between the lid and box part by the blank (inside) substantially is covered.

Due to the special arrangement of the separate blank, the package according to the invention makes it possible to use packages in which the closing edge between the lid and the carton part on one side of the pack (package rear side) is not covered by the collar. At the same time, the mechanical production of such new packages by the use of an inventively arranged, separate Cut simply. The pack according to the invention can thus be produced on conventional hinge-lid packers of the Applicant according to DE 2 440 006 A1.

It is envisaged that the line joint is arranged for pivotally mounting the lid on the box part in the region of a pack narrow side. The collar can then preferably be positioned in the box part in such a way that at least partially no collar is arranged in regions of the package back. This allows a conventional arrangement of the three-walled collar in the box part, namely in a U-shaped enclosing the package contents position, wherein the collar side walls are positioned in the region of the pack narrow sides and the collar front wall in the region of the pack front wall located. In this case, the closing edge in the area of the back of the package is concealed on the inside by the separate blank. In this way, a side-lid pack with the collar of a conventional hinge-lid pack can be provided with surprisingly little effort, without the cover being closed, an uncovered gap between the lid closing edge and the box closing edge in the region of the pack Back side arises.

The separate blank may extend substantially over the entire width of the closing edge between the lid rear wall and the box rear wall and preferably be fastened on the inside of the box rear wall, in particular by gluing.

Preferably, the separate blank extends substantially over the entire surface of the box rear wall and the lid rear wall and has in particular only slightly smaller longitudinal and transverse dimensions than the package back.

For the attachment of the separate blank to the box rear wall, preferably glue points are used, which are assigned to corner areas of the box rear wall. The attachment of the separate blank can thus be easily integrated into the conventional manufacturing process by connecting the separate blank to the flat spread blank to form the carton part and the lid. Another special feature is that the box part and the lid are formed from a single blank, which is constructed according to the longitudinal winding principle.

Another special feature is that the lid rear wall and the box part rear wall are connected to one another via a residual connection, in particular a perforation line, such that the remaining connection - perforation line - can be released when the package is put into use by pivoting the lid.

Other features include the formation of a window between the lid closing edge and the box closing edge, wherein the window extends over an upright packing edge across two side surfaces of the package and in the design of the collar.

The embodiment shown in the drawings is concerned with a cigarette pack 10. This has a cuboid structure according to the Package contents, namely a cigarette group 11, which is surrounded by an inner blank of paper or tin foil, not shown, and thus forms a cuboid cigarette block as a package contents.

The package shown is a hinged lid package, in particular of thin cardboard. The package therefore has an (upper) cover 12, which is connected via a line joint 13 pivotally connected to a (lower) box part 14. The pack has a large-area pack front 15, a likewise large-area pack back 16, and two pack narrow sides 17, 18.

In the interior of the box part 14, a collar 19 is further arranged. The collar 19 projects out of the box part 14 and is covered by the cover 12 when it is closed (FIG. 3).

The box part 14 and the cover 12 are formed from a one-piece blank 20, which is constructed according to the principle of the longitudinal coil. Adjacent areas are thus defined for box front wall 21, bottom wall 22, box rear wall 23, lid rear wall 24, lid end wall 25 and lid front wall 26. Corresponding thereto are on both sides of the blank 20 folding flaps to form the narrow packing Narrow sides 17, 18 formed, namely box side tabs 27, 28 on both sides of the box front wall 21, bottom corner tabs 29 on both sides of the bottom wall 22, box side tabs 30, 31 on both sides of the box rear wall 23, lid side tabs 32, 33 on both sides of Lid rear wall 24, lid corner tabs 34 on both sides of the lid end wall 25, lid side tabs 35, 36 on both sides of the lid front wall 26. The pack front 15 is formed by the box front wall 21 and the lid front wall 26. The corresponding package back 16 is formed by box rear wall 23 and lid rear wall 24. The two packet narrow sides are each defined by the overlapping box side tabs 27, 28; 30, 31 and lid side flaps 32, 33; 35, 36 formed. Between the box rear wall 23 and the lid rear wall 24, a line of weakness is arranged, namely a perforation line 40 formed by punches. The perforation line 40 extends continuously over the entire width of the package rear side 16. The perforation line 40 is also formed in a straight line and runs parallel to the Folding lines 38 between the box front wall 23 and box bottom wall 22 on the one hand and between the lid rear wall 24 and lid end wall 25 on the other.

Between the box side flap 30 on the box rear wall 23 and the lid side flap 32 adjacent the lid rear wall 24, a transverse embossment is provided, which forms the line joint 13 between the box part 14 and cover 12. In the folded package, the line joint 13 is at the same height as the

Perforation line 40. The access to the package is thus on the line joint

13 opposite pack narrow side 18. When the pack is used for the first time, the perforation line 40 is severed.

A special feature of the package is that a separate blank 41 made of packaging material, such as thin cardboard or the like, is arranged in the region of the package back 16. The separate blank 41 extends substantially the entire width and height of the package back 16 formed by the carton rear wall 23 and the lid rear wall 24. The blank 41 protrudes like the collar out of the box part 14 and serves to cover a gap between the lid closing edge 42 and the box closing edge 43 in the region of the package rear side 16 when the lid 12 is closed, in the present case due to the Position and shape of the collar 19 is not covered as usual by this. For this purpose, the blank 41 protrudes approximately as far beyond the box rear wall 23 as the cigarette group 11.

The separate blank 41 is connected to the box rear wall 23 via four glue points 44. A firm connection with the lid rear wall 24 is not provided. The blank 41, which is substantially rectangular in plan, has a rounded corner area 45. The rounded corner area 45 is located on the side of the box which faces away from the line joint 13. The rounding off of the corner region 45 facilitates the opening and closing of the lid 12. Another particularity of the invention relates to the structure and the arrangement of the collar 19. The collar 19 consists of a separate blank which is fastened out of the box part 14 protruding therefrom. The collar 19 has a large-area collar front wall 46 and two narrow collar side walls 47, 48. The collar 19 is arranged in the box part 14 such that the collar front wall 46 is in the area of the box front wall 21. The two collar side walls 47, 48 are arranged in the region of the packing narrow sides 17, 18 formed by the box side flaps 27, 28, 30, 31. The width of the collar front wall 46 corresponds approximately to the width of the box front wall 21 and the width of the collar side walls 47, 48 approximately the width of the pack narrow sides 17, 18. The collar 19 is thus U-shaped and is arranged in the package so that it encloses the package contents on three sides.

The peculiarity therefore consists, on the one hand, in the fact that the collar side wall 47 is arranged on the packing narrow side 17, on which the joint 13 is also arranged. On the other hand, a special feature is the fact that the collar 19 is not arranged in the area of the box rear wall 23 as usual in side-lid packs. In the present case, the collar 19 is formed or arranged such that the collar 19 is arranged completely outside the package back. The closing edge between the lid rear wall 24 and the box rear wall 23 is thus covered over the full width not by the collar 19, but by the separate blank 41. Alternatively, of course, is conceivable that the collar 19 in the region of the package back 16 extends and only portions of the aforementioned closing edge are not covered by the collar 19 but by the blank 41.

In the production of the packs, it is possible to proceed in such a way that the separate blank 41 is first glued onto the flat spread blank 20. This can either take place locally in the area of the packaging machine or beforehand in the production of the blanks 20, which are then delivered ready for the packaging machine, for example in the form of a stack. The connection takes place via four glue points 44, which are positioned in the vicinity of the corner regions of the box rear wall 23. The blank 20 is then partially folded with the box bottom wall 22 erected to form an L-shaped receptacle for the package contents. In this recording, the enveloped with the inner blank cigarette group 11 is inserted together with the U-shaped folded and placed on the contents of the package collar 19. The blank 20 can thus be processed like a conventional blank for a hinge-lid pack, for example in a conventional device or a corresponding method according to DE 2 440 000 A1.

Another peculiarity of the package is the arrangement of the perforation line 40. The perforation line 40 extends transversely between the carton rear wall 23 and the lid rear wall 24 and throughout the entire width of the package back 16. The perforation line 40 is opened at first opening, i. opened at first use of the pack. This is done automatically when (first) opening the lid 12. The perforation line 40 may also extend beyond the oblique areas of the closing edge between the lid 12 and box part 14, in which the lid closing edge 42 and the box closing edge 43 with the lid closed 12 abut each other.

In the area of the package front side 15 and an adjacent packing narrow side 18, a window 49 is formed in regions between the lid closing edge 42 and the box closing edge 43. In the region of the window 49, the closing edges 42, 43 extend at a distance from one another. The window 49 does not extend across the full width of the package front 15 and the package narrow side 18. As a special feature, however, the window 49 extends continuously across an upright packaging edge 50. In the region of the window 49, the closing edges 42, 43 extend substantially transversely, namely horizontally. On both sides of the window 49, the closing edges 42, 43 extend obliquely, namely diagonally upwards to the transverse perforation line 40 on the one hand and on the same height as the perforation line arranged line joint 13 on the other. At the back, i. On the side facing the pack contents or the cigarette group 11 side, the window 49 is completely covered over the full width and height by areas of the collar front wall 46 and the collar side wall 48.

The course of the closing edges 42, 43 is thus starting from the line joint 13 as follows: On the back of the 16 of the package, the closing edge 42, 43 at the height of the line joint 13 transverse or continuous horizontally over the entire width of the Pack. In the area of the narrow packing narrow side 18 adjoining the pack rear 16, the closing edge 42, 43 extends obliquely downwards. In a first region, the two closing edges 42, 43 abut one another (initially) with the lid closed. In an adjoining region, the two closing edges 42, 43 extend with increasing distance from one another, wherein the obliquely downward course is continued. In this way, when the lid 12 is closed, between the two closing edges 42, 43 starting on the narrow side of the pack 18, a window 49 is formed, which continues over the pack edge 50 onto the pack front 15. As soon as the intended distance between the closing edges 42, 43 is reached, they run transversely or parallel over the remaining region of the narrow side of the pack 18 and a large part of the pack front 15. In the vicinity of the other pack narrow side 19, the closing edges 42 run , 43 diagonally upward, wherein initially the distance between the closing edges 42, 43 gradually reduced and the closing edges 42, 43 then run with the lid closed 12 adjacent to each other until they connect at the height of the line joint 13 to this.

The shape of the collar 19 is adapted to the course of the closing edges 42, 43. For this purpose, an upper blank edge 51 of the collar 19 only on one side, namely in the transition from the collar front wall 46 to the collar side wall 47 has a curved contour. A recess 53 which is otherwise customary in the region of the collar front wall 46 thus also extends continuously over the entire width of the other collar side wall 48. The collar 19 is arranged in the package in such a way that the depression 53 is in the region of the package front side 15 and the line joint 13 opposite packing narrow side 18 is located. In this way, a simple access to the contents of the package or the cigarette group 11 is possible with the lid 12 open. A lower collar blank edge 52 extends parallel to the upper blank edge 51 of the collar 19. In this way, the blank for the collar 19 can be separated lossless from its continuous material web. The lid inner tab 37 in extension of the lid front wall 26 is laterally offset, namely eccentrically to the longitudinal axis of the blank 20 (Fig. 1). In this way, the lid inner tab 37 is not in the region of the oblique lid closing edge 42 and can be folded against the inside of the lid front wall 26.
