Definitions
- the invention relates to a bendable knitting needle for a knitting needle game for the production of knitting products which are round in cross section.
- the invention relates to a knitting game made of 3 such knitting needles.
- Circular knitting needles are used to knit knitted products with a round cross-section in which the diameter of the cross-section is relatively large (e.g. pullover), in which leg-like sections are connected to one another with the free ends of the circular knitting needle, for example via a flexible nylon cable.
- the stitches are always on the circular needle when knitting.
- Knitting needle games of 5 rigid needles are usually used for knitting knitted products with a smaller diameter of the round cross section, the rigid needles running in a straight line from their first free end to their second free end over the central shaft section.
- the stitches are first distributed evenly over four of the five needles.
- the stitches of the first needle guiding the final stitch are then completely knitted onto the free fifth needle, forming new stitches, until the first needle is free. Then the stitches on the second needle are completely knitted onto the free first needle and so on. To knit a round, the needles have to be changed four times. The number of rounds is arbitrary.
- German Patent and Trade Mark Office also researched the following prior art in the priority application for this application: DE 33 31 243 C2 . DE 196 32 578 C2 . DE 28 53 701 A1 . DE 87 08 212 U1 and US 735 469 S , which only affects circular knitting needles, no sock knitting needles.
- the International Searching Authority has researched the state of the art, namely DE 20 2016 007 702 U1 . US 5,720,187 A . US 1,313,461 . DE 20 2009 003 346 U1 . US 6,983,627 B1 . US 6,397,640 B1 . US 4,195,496 A ,
- the document DE 20 2016 007 702 U1 relates to a cable knitting needle with a plastically deformable shaft section.
- the document US 5,720,187 A relates to a circular knitting needle.
- the document US 1,313,461 A relates to an L-shaped knitting needle.
- the document DE 20 2009 003 346 U1 relates to a knitting tool with a coupling device.
- the document US 6,983,627 B1 relates to a circular knitting needle with a flexible shaft section.
- the document US 6,397,640 B1 describes a circular knitting needle arrangement.
- the document US 4,195,496 A describes a length-adjustable circular knitting needle arrangement.
- a sock heel is usually a straight line for heels with a cap or for heels with a shortened row / boomerang heel as a succession of 2 trapezoids is being worked and straight needles are best suited for the cap heels and straight sections are not depicted on crooked needles.
- preformed needles you run the risk that the stitches are stretched too much and then appear unprofessionally larger in the knit.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of developing a knitting needle shape which avoids the disadvantages of the prior art, a bendability when knitting between the hands or bent outwards from the hands or allows inwards between the hands, the changing of knitting needles from Reduced cross-section of knitted products and with which in particular knitted products with a smaller diameter of the round cross-section can be easily manufactured and ensure easy transport, since the bendable knitting needles are straight when not in use, they can be transported flat and narrow without becoming large.
- the invention accordingly relates to a bendable knitting needle, in particular a sock knitting needle, for circular or cylindrical textiles. This is not known from the state of the art.
- the bendability of the knitting needles according to the invention by means of a bendable middle part between the shaft sections makes it possible for a knitted product with a round cross section to be produced with only three knitting needles.
- the stitches are first divided in half onto two knitting needles and then alternately knitted using the third knitting needle, as a result of which the knitting needles need to be changed less frequently, namely only twice per round.
- the legs of already two knitting needles can be aligned with one another in such a way that the stitches guided on the knitting needles are arranged in a circular manner approximately corresponding to the cross section of the later knitting product.
- the individual angle also prevents the knitwear from being stretched and thus further knitting is made difficult or even prevented.
- the bendability according to the invention is also advantageous because a trapezoid must be formed for this and the needles according to the invention adapt individually to the shape of the trapezoid and are therefore ideally suited not to stretch stitches.
- a knitting game has exactly 3 knitting needles according to the invention. It could be more, but 3 is enough.
- the direction of extension of the respective leg relates to its longitudinal direction.
- the shaft section and / or the two legs have a cylindrical cross section, the free ends of the two legs being tapered in their cross section toward the outside.
- the cylindrical cross section serves simple and low-wear stitch management during the knitting process.
- the shaft section and / or the two legs and / or the free ends can be hollow, solid or a combination thereof.
- the cross-section of the knitting needle according to the invention is not limited to round, but can be expanded to other configurations
- the cross section of the shaft section and of the two legs is preferably round and corresponds in diameter to the needle size.
- the size of the needle is usually 1 mm-4.5 mm.
- a needle size of up to 7 mm in diameter is preferably proposed. Larger needle sizes up to 15 mm are also possible, but here the rope length in the middle increases slightly.
- Other cross sections such as, for example, quadrangular and triangular are conceivable. According to one embodiment, other polygonal shapes are proposed, for example an octagonal cross-sectional shape.
- the two legs are essentially the same length with their free ends and each have a length of 5 cm to 15 cm and particularly preferably a length of 7 cm to 8.5 cm.
- connection between the knitting needle parts is 3-5 cm long and consists of a nylon rope or nylon-coated wire mesh.
- the shaft section has a continuous round cross section.
- At least one of the two legs, preferably both, and / or their respective free ends has natural and / or synthetic materials.
- the materials are preferably selected from the group consisting of wood, horn, metal, in particular aluminum, plastic, bamboo, composite materials and / or a combination thereof. This is advantageous because the knitting needle can be used universally and is not limited depending on the material to be knitted.
- brass as the material for the legs as the metal, in particular one brass tube each.
- a high-tech plastic in particular a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic, is also proposed as the material for the legs as a composite material.
- the shaft section is designed to be bendable. As described, this is provided in such a way that the shaft section can be bent elastically and with little force. This is achieved by using nylon as the material for the bendable shaft section.
- the knitting needle adapts to the round knitting material, especially by itself. Due to its round shape, the knitted fabric also specifies the bend of the knitting needles, on which part of the stitch of the knitted fabric lies.
- the stitches lie particularly on two knitting needles and are knitted by one with a third knitting needle, which means that new stitches gradually come to the third knitting needle and slide onto this third knitting needle and gradually over and over the bendable shaft section .
- the bendable shaft section or the adjoining leg adapts to the course of the stitches. This is exactly what is made possible by the elastic shaft section, which can be bent with little force.
- the two legs and the shaft section are made of one material throughout.
- the knitting needle can be made from a single knitting needle blank and, on the other hand, no connecting edges are formed between the legs and the shaft section, on which fine knitting material such as wool can get caught.
- the same material as for the bendable shaft section is proposed here as material for a knitting needle made of one material throughout, since with these materials in particular the shaft section can be bendable and the legs can be made rigid. This can be achieved by different thicknesses of the shaft section on the one hand and the two legs on the other. If the legs are thick enough, they can hardly be bent.
- the two legs have a different thickness, so that the knitting needle has a thinner and a thicker leg.
- one of the two legs can act as the stitch-feeding leg and the other as the stitch-lifting leg. If the legs are designed differently, they can be better adapted to these two functions.
- the locking device is designed as a bayonet lock, which comprises at least one insertion element and one receiving element.
- the receiving element is set up to receive the insertion element, and the insertion element has a guide groove, which can in particular comprise a longitudinal groove, a transverse groove and a latching groove.
- the receiving element can have a spring device and a catch.
- the receiving element be arranged on one leg or in each case on both legs.
- the insertion element can then be arranged on the bendable shaft section or two insertion elements are provided on the bendable shaft section, namely at each end of one if the knitting needle has two closure devices.
- the closure device be designed as a screwing device, so that the bendable shaft section is screwed into one of the two legs with at least one side, or vice versa, the respective leg is screwed into the bendable shaft section with one side.
- the knitting needle is preferably characterized in that the bendable shaft section is formed in one piece from a material and the at least one insertion element is designed as a insertion section.
- the bendable section in particular can be used here be formed somewhat thicker at its ends and each have an insertion section into which the guide groove can be incorporated.
- a knitting needle with such a coupling device has the advantage that the legs are detachably connected to one another with the bendable shaft section and a leg or the shaft section can thus be exchanged. It is also contemplated that legs of different thicknesses can optionally be connected.
- one leg is preferably firmly connected to the bendable shaft section, so that only one leg can be exchanged and its size can thereby be changed.
- Figure 1 shows a knitting needle 1, in particular a sock knitting needle, with a shaft section 2 and a first and second leg 3 and 4.
- the first leg 3 has a first extension direction 5.
- the second leg 4 has a second direction of extent 7.
- the two legs 3 and 4 have a first free end, namely the leg 3 the first free end 6 and the leg 4 the second free end 8. Because of the bendable shaft section 2, a variable angle 9 is formed between the two legs 3 and 4 in relation to focus 10.
- Figure 2 shows an exploded view of a sock knitting needle 1 in which the variable angle 9 with respect to the center of gravity 10 on the bendable shaft section decreases from left to right, that is to say the variable angle from left to right becomes increasingly acute.
- Figure 3 shows a knitting needle 1, one of the two legs 3, 4 and the shaft section 2 being releasably connectable to one another via a closure device 11.
- the locking device is designed as an example as a bayonet lock.
- This has an insertion element 12 and a receiving element 13.
- the receiving element is configured to receive the insert element, for example in which the receiving element has a cavity for inserting the insert element.
- the insertion element shown has a longitudinal groove 15, a transverse groove 16 and a locking groove 17, through or into which a catch can be pushed.
- the receiving element has a spring device 14 and a catch 18.
- the insertion element 12 and the receiving element 13 can be releasably connected to one another in their longitudinal axis, as is the double arrow in FIG Figure 3 displays.
- the catch 18 In order to connect the insertion element 12 and the receiving element 13 to one another, for example, the catch 18 is first pushed through the longitudinal groove 15, the spring element 14 thereby being compressed. If the catch 18 is pushed in along the longitudinal groove up to the transverse groove, the catch is displaced along the transverse groove by rotating the insertion or the receiving element. If the catch 18 then reaches the catch groove 17, the spring element relaxes somewhat, so that the catch engages and the insertion and the receiving elements are connected to one another. If the connection is to be released again, the catch is pushed out in reverse order along the grooves 17, 16 and 15.
- the longitudinal groove 15, the transverse groove 16 and the locking groove 17 together form a guide groove. It is particularly advantageous in this construction that the guide groove can also be formed on an insert element with a small diameter and that only this guide groove, which is purely passive, is required for the closure device on the insert element 12. It is also possible to form the guide groove in the same material that has the bendable shaft section. It is thereby possible to equip the knitting needle with one closure device or two closure devices, while the bendable shaft section can be made in one piece from one material. In this case, the bendable shaft section preferably has a larger diameter in the region of the insert element 12 than in a central region of the bendable shaft section.

Description
The invention relates to a bendable knitting needle for a knitting needle game for the production of knitting products which are round in cross section.
Furthermore, the invention relates to a knitting game made of 3 such knitting needles.
Circular knitting needles are used to knit knitted products with a round cross-section in which the diameter of the cross-section is relatively large (e.g. pullover), in which leg-like sections are connected to one another with the free ends of the circular knitting needle, for example via a flexible nylon cable. The stitches are always on the circular needle when knitting. Knitting needle games of 5 rigid needles are usually used for knitting knitted products with a smaller diameter of the round cross section, the rigid needles running in a straight line from their first free end to their second free end over the central shaft section. To knit a shaft area of a sock, for example, the stitches are first distributed evenly over four of the five needles. The stitches of the first needle guiding the final stitch are then completely knitted onto the free fifth needle, forming new stitches, until the first needle is free. Then the stitches on the second needle are completely knitted onto the free first needle and so on. To knit a round, the needles have to be changed four times. The number of rounds is arbitrary.
There is the problem that, in addition to a possibly increased number of knitting needles, the angle of inclination is already predetermined for the rigidly curved knitting games, and therefore the ergonomics of different hands are not taken into account. Due to the rigid angle of inclination, it can sometimes even lead to minor injuries in combination with a knitting game due to carelessness of the user (stitches or peaks of the needles). In addition, rigid curved needles take up space and are bulky in their design.
Furthermore, it is difficult to knit a sock heel professionally with a rigidly bent needle compared to a straight knitting needle, because a sock heel is usually a straight line for heels with a cap or for heels with a shortened row / boomerang heel as a succession of 2 trapezoids is being worked and straight needles are best suited for the cap heels and straight sections are not depicted on crooked needles. With preformed needles you run the risk that the stitches are stretched too much and then appear unprofessionally larger in the knit.
In the case of very small diameters (children's socks) there is finally the problem that a rigid knitting needle game with three needles specifies the diameter, since at least half of the rigid bend represents the radius for the product to be knitted.
Although the knitting needles known from the prior art enjoy a certain popularity and are certainly useful for the intended purpose, they have the serious disadvantages not mentioned above.
The invention is therefore based on the object of developing a knitting needle shape which avoids the disadvantages of the prior art, a bendability when knitting between the hands or bent outwards from the hands or allows inwards between the hands, the changing of knitting needles from Reduced cross-section of knitted products and with which in particular knitted products with a smaller diameter of the round cross-section can be easily manufactured and ensure easy transport, since the bendable knitting needles are straight when not in use, they can be transported flat and narrow without becoming large.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of
The invention accordingly relates to a bendable knitting needle, in particular a sock knitting needle, for circular or cylindrical textiles. This is not known from the state of the art.
The bendability of the knitting needles according to the invention by means of a bendable middle part between the shaft sections makes it possible for a knitted product with a round cross section to be produced with only three knitting needles. For this purpose, the stitches are first divided in half onto two knitting needles and then alternately knitted using the third knitting needle, as a result of which the knitting needles need to be changed less frequently, namely only twice per round. As a result of the bendability according to the invention, the legs of already two knitting needles can be aligned with one another in such a way that the stitches guided on the knitting needles are arranged in a circular manner approximately corresponding to the cross section of the later knitting product. The individual angle also prevents the knitwear from being stretched and thus further knitting is made difficult or even prevented. It also makes knitting products with a smaller diameter easier to manufacture. Compared to straight-line needles for a knitting game, there is also the advantage that the stitches do not easily slide off the knitting needle during the knitting and / or after a knitting break. When knitting a boomerang heel, the bendability according to the invention is also advantageous because a trapezoid must be formed for this and the needles according to the invention adapt individually to the shape of the trapezoid and are therefore ideally suited not to stretch stitches.
A knitting game has exactly 3 knitting needles according to the invention. It could be more, but 3 is enough.
In the present invention, the direction of extension of the respective leg relates to its longitudinal direction.
Selbstverständlich ist der Querschnitt der erfindungsgemäßen Stricknadel nicht auf rund beschränkt, sondern auf weitere Ausgestaltungen erweiterbarIn an advantageous embodiment, the shaft section and / or the two legs have a cylindrical cross section, the free ends of the two legs being tapered in their cross section toward the outside. This is advantageous because the stitch picking is simplified during the knitting process and knitted stitches can also be further knitted. The cylindrical cross section serves simple and low-wear stitch management during the knitting process. The shaft section and / or the two legs and / or the free ends can be hollow, solid or a combination thereof. Of course, the cross-section of the knitting needle according to the invention is not limited to round, but can be expanded to other configurations
The cross section of the shaft section and of the two legs is preferably round and corresponds in diameter to the needle size. In this form of training, the size of the needle is usually 1 mm-4.5 mm. A needle size of up to 7 mm in diameter is preferably proposed. Larger needle sizes up to 15 mm are also possible, but here the rope length in the middle increases slightly. Other cross sections such as, for example, quadrangular and triangular are conceivable. According to one embodiment, other polygonal shapes are proposed, for example an octagonal cross-sectional shape.
According to the invention, the two legs are essentially the same length with their free ends and each have a length of 5 cm to 15 cm and particularly preferably a length of 7 cm to 8.5 cm.
The connection between the knitting needle parts is 3-5 cm long and consists of a nylon rope or nylon-coated wire mesh. In the simplest case, the shaft section has a continuous round cross section.
In a further advantageous embodiment, at least one of the two legs, preferably both, and / or their respective free ends has natural and / or synthetic materials.
The materials are preferably selected from the group consisting of wood, horn, metal, in particular aluminum, plastic, bamboo, composite materials and / or a combination thereof. This is advantageous because the knitting needle can be used universally and is not limited depending on the material to be knitted.
According to one embodiment, it is proposed to use brass as the material for the legs as the metal, in particular one brass tube each. Preferably A high-tech plastic, in particular a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic, is also proposed as the material for the legs as a composite material.
According to the invention, the shaft section is designed to be bendable. As described, this is provided in such a way that the shaft section can be bent elastically and with little force. This is achieved by using nylon as the material for the bendable shaft section. As a result, the knitting needle adapts to the round knitting material, especially by itself. Due to its round shape, the knitted fabric also specifies the bend of the knitting needles, on which part of the stitch of the knitted fabric lies. When knitting, the stitches lie particularly on two knitting needles and are knitted by one with a third knitting needle, which means that new stitches gradually come to the third knitting needle and slide onto this third knitting needle and gradually over and over the bendable shaft section , The bendable shaft section or the adjoining leg adapts to the course of the stitches. This is exactly what is made possible by the elastic shaft section, which can be bent with little force.
In a further advantageous embodiment, it is proposed that the two legs and the shaft section are made of one material throughout. This is particularly advantageous since, on the one hand, the knitting needle can be made from a single knitting needle blank and, on the other hand, no connecting edges are formed between the legs and the shaft section, on which fine knitting material such as wool can get caught. The same material as for the bendable shaft section is proposed here as material for a knitting needle made of one material throughout, since with these materials in particular the shaft section can be bendable and the legs can be made rigid. This can be achieved by different thicknesses of the shaft section on the one hand and the two legs on the other. If the legs are thick enough, they can hardly be bent.
It is preferably proposed that the two legs have a different thickness, so that the knitting needle has a thinner and a thicker leg. When knitting, one of the two legs can act as the stitch-feeding leg and the other as the stitch-lifting leg. If the legs are designed differently, they can be better adapted to these two functions.
It was also recognized that there are regional differences and different knitting styles in the manufacture of knitting products with knitting needles. These lead to different stitches. This can be compensated for in particular by legs of different thicknesses if the thicker leg is used as the lifting leg for the knitting style which leads to tight stitches. In addition, individually better adapted legs of the knitting needles can be provided for the different knitting styles or body measurements of the users, which simplifies the handling of the knitting needles for the user.
In a further embodiment it is proposed that at least one of the two legs and the shaft section are releasably connected to one another via a closure device. In a particular embodiment, the locking device is designed as a bayonet lock, which comprises at least one insertion element and one receiving element. The receiving element is set up to receive the insertion element, and the insertion element has a guide groove, which can in particular comprise a longitudinal groove, a transverse groove and a latching groove. The receiving element can have a spring device and a catch. In particular, it is proposed that the receiving element be arranged on one leg or in each case on both legs. The insertion element can then be arranged on the bendable shaft section or two insertion elements are provided on the bendable shaft section, namely at each end of one if the knitting needle has two closure devices. According to one embodiment, it is proposed that the closure device be designed as a screwing device, so that the bendable shaft section is screwed into one of the two legs with at least one side, or vice versa, the respective leg is screwed into the bendable shaft section with one side.
The knitting needle is preferably characterized in that the bendable shaft section is formed in one piece from a material and the at least one insertion element is designed as a insertion section. The bendable section in particular can be used here be formed somewhat thicker at its ends and each have an insertion section into which the guide groove can be incorporated.
A knitting needle with such a coupling device has the advantage that the legs are detachably connected to one another with the bendable shaft section and a leg or the shaft section can thus be exchanged. It is also contemplated that legs of different thicknesses can optionally be connected.
In each case, one leg is preferably firmly connected to the bendable shaft section, so that only one leg can be exchanged and its size can thereby be changed.

In order to connect the
The
