Description

The present invention relates to a knitting needle for a knitting game for producing cross-sectionally round knit products having a first leg extending from a rigid shaft portion rigidly in a first extension direction to a first free end adapted to receive mesh and extending from the rigid shaft portion rigidly in a second extension direction to a second free end suitable for receiving mesh second leg, wherein within the shaft portion of the center of gravity of the knitting needle is arranged.

For knitting circular knit products in which the diameter of the cross section is relatively large, such as in pullovers, circular knitting needles are used in which leg-like sections are connected to the free ends of the circular needle by a flexible nylon cable. All stitches are usually on the circular needle when knitting.

For knitting smaller diameter knitted products of the round cross section, a knitting game consisting of five needles having the features mentioned in the beginning is used, wherein the rigidly formed needles extend in a straight line from their first free end to their second free end via the central shaft section. To knit, for example, a shaft portion of a sock, the stitches are first evenly distributed on four of the five needles. The stitches of the first leading the final stitch Needles are then completely knitted onto the free fifth needle to form new stitches until the first needle is free. Thereafter, the stitches on the second needle are completely knitted on the free first needle, and so on. To knit a round, the needles must be changed four times. There are so many rounds knitted until the knitting has reached the desired length.

A disadvantage of this type of knitting game is that the needles to be used for knitting have to be changed four times within one round. In addition, it is difficult to produce with such a knitting game knitting products with a round cross-section with a very small diameter.

In another type of knitting to form a Zopfmusters auxiliary needles are known to record calming stitches. The actual knit product is made, for example, with a circular needle. To form the Zopfmusters some successive, located at the first free end of the circular needle needles are temporarily not knitted by the second end of the circular needle, but sedated on the also called Zopfstricknadel auxiliary needle. After the subsequent stitches on the first free end have been knitted from the second end, the stitches initially immobilized on the auxiliary needle are knitted from the second end of the circular knitting needle. To form the cable pattern in a knitted product manufactured by the circular needle exactly one such Zopfstricknadel is needed as a needle. A returning to the applicant Zopfstricknadel is for example in WO 2012/167863 A2 described, it being ensured by the design of the Zopfstricknadel described therein that immobilized on the Zopfstricknadel stitches do not slide down from this. The legs of this Zopfstricknadel ideally have an angle on the order of 90 ° between them.

The object of the present invention is to solve the problems described with reference to the prior art and in particular to provide knitting needles for a knitting game with which less frequently the knitting needles must be changed when knitting cross-section round knit products and with which in particular knitting products with a smaller diameter of the round cross section can be easily made. In addition, it is an object of the invention that the stitches do not slip so easily from the knitting needle during knitting and / or after a knitting break.

These objects are achieved by a knitting needle having the features of the independent claim. Advantageous developments of the knitting needle are specified in the dependent claims and the description, wherein features of advantageous developments in a technologically meaningful way can be combined with each other.

These objects are achieved by a knitting needle with the features mentioned, wherein the first extension direction and the second extension direction to each other have an angle of at least 37 ° and less than 60 °.

With the angle between the legs according to the invention, it is possible that a knitted product with a round cross-section with in particular only three knitting needles can be produced. For this purpose, the stitches are initially distributed in half on two knitting needles and then knitted in a known manner alternately using the third knitting needle, which less frequently the knitting needles must be changed, namely only two times per round. Due to the angle according to the invention, the legs of two knitting needles can be aligned with each other so that the guided on the knitting needles are arranged in a circle approximately corresponding to the cross section of the subsequent knitted product. The angle also prevents the knitted fabric from being tensioned and thus the rest Knitting difficult or even prevented. In addition, knitting products with a smaller diameter can be made easier. Compared to straight running needles for a knitting game there is also the advantage that the stitches do not slip off the knitting needle during knitting and / or after a knitting break.

With the arrangement of the center of gravity of the knitting needle within the shaft portion is meant in particular that the knitting needle is ausbaianciert and the two legs are in equilibrium. This means in particular that the center of gravity of the legs are formed symmetrically to the central shaft portion and are equal in magnitude. The center of gravity is arranged in the simplest embodiment in the region of the maximum curvature of the shaft portion, but is not limited thereto. Due to the arrangement of the center of gravity in the shaft section, the two legs can be present independently of one another or can also have different lengths or cross sections and thus a material independence and / or a length independence from one another is achieved.

On the other hand, it has been shown that a knitting needle with an angle between 37 ° and 60 ° between their legs can be unsatisfactorily used as an auxiliary needle to form a Zopfmusters because when knitting of the auxiliary needle the relatively few rested on the auxiliary needle meshes only with large Allow effort to slide over the shaft section. At an angle of 90 ° between the legs, the needle-knitting needle held by one hand on one leg can pick up the loop without substantial twisting or tilting of the hand with the other leg. At an angle of 37 ° to 60 ° between the legs, however, the hand holding a leg must perform a relatively large compensating movement, whereby the flowing knitting is disturbed with only short-term recording of sedated mesh. When knitting from the Zopfstricknadel with a small angle between the legs of the unused leg is also touched with your fingers, making the stitch return is difficult.

Preferably, the first extension direction and the second extension direction to each other at an angle between 40 ° and 55 °, more preferably between 45 ° and 50 °. It has been found that an angle of 48 ° is particularly well suited for a knitting game.

A knitting game has in particular 2 to 4, preferably exactly 3 knitting needles according to the invention.

In the present invention, the extension direction of the respective leg refers particularly to its longitudinal direction.

In an advantageous embodiment, the shank portion and / or the two legs have a cylindrical cross-section, wherein the free ends of the two legs are tapered outwardly in their cross-section. Preferably, the free ends are formed as rounded tips. This is advantageous because the stitch pickup is simplified during the knitting process and also knitted stitches can be further entangled. The cylindrical cross section is used for easy and low-wear mesh during the knitting process. The shank portion and / or the two legs and / or the free ends may be hollow, solid or formed from a combination thereof. Of course, the cross section of the knitting needle according to the invention is not limited to round, but expandable to further embodiments.

Furthermore, it would be conceivable that an area of at least one leg is curved with its outwardly directed free end curved inwards or outwards. This is advantageous, since thus the thread easier to receive and is knit. It is therefore not mandatory that the legs extend in a straight line along their extension direction. Accordingly, the legs can also run in a curved manner relative to their respective extension direction, the extension direction of a leg then being determined, in particular, by a straight line extending from the free end of the leg to the transition point of the leg into the shaft section.

Preferably, the cross section of the shaft portion and the two legs is formed round. In this embodiment, the cross section has a size of 0.5 to 30 mm, preferably from 1 to 20 mm, more preferably from 1 to 10 mm and most preferably from 2 to 7 mm. The cross section corresponds to the needle size.

In a further advantageous embodiment of the present invention, the knitting needle is formed in one piece. This is advantageous, since thus no interruptions, for example in the form of edges, impair the quality of the knitted product.

In a further advantageous embodiment of the present invention, the two legs with their free ends substantially the same length and each preferably have a length of 5 cm to 25 cm and more preferably a length of 5 cm to 12 cm and most preferably of 9 cm ,

In the simplest case, the shank portion has a continuous cross section, for example round or oval. Furthermore, however, it is conceivable that the shank portion has two or more mutually different cross sections and thus represents the transition region from a thin first leg into a second thick leg.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the shaft section and / or at least one of the two legs, preferably both, and / or their respective free ends comprise natural and / or synthetic materials.

Preferably, the materials are selected from the group of wood, horn, metal, in particular aluminum, plastic, bamboo, composites and / or a combination thereof. This is advantageous because the knitting needle is universally applicable and is not limited depending on the material to be entangled.

Preferably, both the first leg and the second leg have an equal weight. This is advantageous, since thus the knitting needle is balanced and does not slide off the picked up stitches.

  • Fig. 1: eine erste Ausführungsform der Stricknadel und
  • Fig. 2: eine weitere Ausführungsform der Stricknadel.
Advantageous embodiments will be apparent from the accompanying drawings. It show schematically
  • Fig. 1 : a first embodiment of the knitting needle and
  • Fig. 2 : another embodiment of the knitting needle.

FIG. 1 shows a knitting needle 1 according to the invention in its simplest form. The shaft portion 2 is curved. The two adjoining legs 3, 4, as well as the shaft portion 2 has a round cross-section. Furthermore, it would also be conceivable that the cross section of approximately different formed, for example, ellipsoidal. The first leg 3 extends in a first extension direction 5 and is rounded at its first free end 6 in order to avoid a risk of injury during knitting. The second leg 4 extends in its second extension direction 7 and is also rounded at its second free end 8.

First and second extension direction 5 and 7 have an angle 9 to each other, which is approximately 48 °. If 6 stitches are taken in the stricic process, for example with the first free end, they can be pushed over the first leg 3 and the shaft portion 2 to the second leg 4.

In the region of the shaft portion 2, the center of gravity 10 of the knitting needle 1 is arranged so that a balancing takes place in such a way that the first leg 3 and the second leg 4 are in equilibrium, starting from the center of gravity 10. In the simplest embodiment, the center of gravity 10 in the curved region, most preferably arranged in the region of the maximum curvature of the shaft portion 2. Furthermore, however, it is also conceivable to arbitrarily arrange the center of gravity 10 within the shaft section 2, for example more in the extension direction 5 of the first leg 3.

The in the Fig. 2 illustrated embodiment of the knitting needle 1 differs from the embodiment of Fig. 1 in that the first leg 3 and the second leg 4 do not extend in a straight line along the first extension direction 5 or the second extension direction 7. The first leg 3 is bent with its first free end 6 inwardly, while the second leg 4 is bent with its second free end 8 to the outside. The extension directions 5, 7 are each formed starting from the transition from the shaft portion 2 to the respective leg 3, 4 by a straight line to the respective free ends 6, 8. The angle θ between the first extension direction 5 and the second extension direction 7 is approximately 50 °.
