Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the field of watches and watch parts.
  • the present invention relates to a fastening system making it possible to removably attach a bracelet to a watch.
  • watch straps are attached to the case of said watch by means of bars which comprise a tubular body containing a spring and two pins placed at each end of said tubular body, said pins being pushed outwards by the spring.
  • bars which comprise a tubular body containing a spring and two pins placed at each end of said tubular body, said pins being pushed outwards by the spring.
  • each pin is inserted into a channel of the bracelet and fits into a hole formed in the lugs of the watch case.
  • posting EP 1 772 072 from Hirsch Armb software GmbH shows a first system of pins actuated by pivoting means which are meshed one inside the other. The pivoting movement of one causes the pivoting of the other and by this pivoting of the means, the pins are driven into the retracted position or into the deployed position for fixing the bracelet to the watch case.
  • This system is nevertheless rigid and the two pins are driven together in a dependent manner. Consequently, if one of the pins is not opposite the corresponding hole in the horn, the known system is blocked and does not allow one of the pins to be fixed independently of the other.
  • the publication FR 2 445 120 from Timex Corporation describes another removable attachment system for wristwatches.
  • This solution comprises two pivoting elements on which are directly mounted pins intended to fit into the holes of the horns of the case of the watch. Due to the mounting of the pins on the pivoting elements, any traction on the bracelet will tend to move the elements into their disengaged or disengaged position, which will release the bracelet, an effect which is obviously not desired. Consequently, it is necessary to provide in addition a lock which will block the pivoting elements in the deployed position, this lock being complex to implement since it is necessary to provide for its voluntary unlocking (when it is desired).
  • the publication FR 2 988 271 from Interstrap SAS describes another system for locking an interchangeable removable part (for example a bracelet) to a fixed part (for example a watch case) using pins whose movement is controlled by elastically deformable and guided connecting arms, converging symmetrically to a central body which is actuated by an external control device.
  • This solution is complicated because it includes many small parts and has a big weak point in the use of deformable link arms.
  • the publication FR 2 287 187 by Claude Lafond shows an automatic attachment for a wristwatch.
  • This fastener comprises in particular a tongue of complex shape with two parts: a first rectilinear part intended to remain under a lining of the bracelet and the length of which is such that its free end, constituting that of the tongue, cannot be trapped in the cage , and a second part which, inserted between the first part and the plate, constitutes the base of the tongue, has the shape of a bridge, is shorter than the first part and is intended to overlap the lining to retain it in case accidental takeoff.
  • the construction described does not include means for actuating the tongue, said tongue is of a complicated shape with several folding zones which complicates its construction and the end of the tongue is covered with the lining of the bracelet which increases its thickness and consequently the thickness of the fastening system.
  • the closure of the system is ensured by the lining of the bracelet and not by the tongue itself so that, on the one hand, such a lining is necessary, the positioning of the tongue with respect to the lining is critical during manufacture to ensure closure and, on the other hand, the material of the lining must be sufficiently rigid to ensure this closure, which can harm, for example, the comfort of the wearer of the wristwatch.
  • This construction is therefore very complex and requires very precise adjustments.
  • the publication FR 2 207 665 by Claude Lafond illustrates a carabiner for a wristwatch.
  • This carabiner consists of a metal blade cut and curved to form a hollow plate, one of the ends of which is folded over on itself to form a cage, hollowed out at least at its free end, the other end of the blade being integral a spring tongue having its end curved to form a hook which, being housed in the hollow cage, is capable of imprisoning the lining of the bracelet, after the plate has been introduced between the glued faces facing this lining and the leather of the bracelet, and to draw it into the transverse movement to which it is subjected during the opening and closing of the carabiner while the hollow end of the cage is circumvented by the end of the leather of the bracelet previously beveled and glued.
  • the known system of this publication does not include means for actuating the carabiner which includes the metal blade having a complex shape to manufacture (cutouts, bends).
  • the blade is completely covered by the bracelet and the lining of the bracelet which increases the thickness of the system.
  • the patent CH 518 697 from Omega Louis Brandt & Fringham describes a watch strap, which is made up of a strip of flexible synthetic material, the end of which is intended to be fixed to a bar of a watch case, has an indentation the width of which is sufficient to allow the bar to pass so as to allow the assembly of the bracelet to the bar without the use of any tool.
  • This bracelet is characterized in that the end of the band is reinforced by an inner frame, made of a harder material than the band, said frame having an indentation whose shape corresponds substantially to that of the indentation of the band, all so that the bar is held by friction at the bottom of the indentation of the band without risk of inadvertent separation of the bracelet and the bar.
  • An object of the invention is to improve the known solutions of the state of the art.
  • Another object of the invention is to propose a solution which is simple, effective and easy to implement and which allows an easy exchange of a strap on a watch, for example.
  • Another object of the present invention is to propose a fastening system which is safe and stable and of reduced dimensions for its use with thin bracelets.
  • the system according to the invention allows a quick exchange of bracelet for example to mount a bracelet in leather, or in fabric or in metal, or rubber (or any other material) depending on the activity of the wearer of the watch: for example, he may decide to use a leather strap for an "elegant" effect with a dressy outfit, a metal or fabric strap or even a synthetic material for more sporting activities, while keeping the same watch (i.e. the same case).
  • the invention is particularly useful for watches of high cost but also for inexpensive watches to follow fashion effects.
  • the invention relates to a system for fixing a variable element to a fixed object, the fixed object being a watch case comprising at least one bar and the variable element being an insert for a watch bracelet, the insert comprising a cage provided with an opening substantially opposite a bottom of the cage, the cage being configured to receive said at least one bar via the opening; said system comprising locking means comprising a flexible blade and a flexible blade actuation means having the form of a push button or a boss and configured to move the flexible blade between an initial position near the opening to a position towards the bottom of the cage.
  • the flexible blade comprises at least one fold to limit its travel, so that it suffices for the free end of the flexible blade to pass from the side of the axis of the strip located towards the bottom of the cage, so that the extraction of the bar from the insert is possible.
  • the blade includes a second bend to maintain the actuating means, such as the button, in a stable position.
  • the attachment means further comprise a ramp adapted to guide the extraction of the bar from the insert.
  • the attachment means comprise an elastic means to take up play when the variable element is attached to the fixed element.
  • the elastic means can be a spring or other equivalent means placed at a suitable place.
  • the blade includes at least one cutout.
  • the parts of the blade separated by the cut can thus be aligned or not.
  • the blade includes at least one deformation.
  • the blade includes at least one insert.
  • the deformation(s) of the blade has (have) the shape of a bridge and/or the piece(s) added on the blade has (have) the shape of a bridge.
  • Other equivalent forms are of course possible within the scope of the invention.
  • the invention relates to a watch strap or watch strap insert comprising a system according to the present invention.
  • the invention relates to a watch combined with a bracelet or an insert according to the present invention.
  • attachment means are formed to allow easy clipping of the variable element onto the fixed element. More specifically, in one embodiment, clipping means are added to the straps of a watch in order to facilitate changing the strap of said watch by a simple clipping movement.
  • FIG. 1 In a first mode of execution, illustrated in figure 1 (not covered by the present invention), a part of a bracelet 1 of a watch has been shown, namely the part of the bracelet 1 which is close to the case of the watch.
  • this part referenced 1 can be an insert which attaches to the bracelet.
  • the end of this bracelet 1 (or the insert 1) comprises fastening or clipping means in the form of an open tube 2 intended to be clipped onto a bar 3 of the watch.
  • the opening of the tube 4 is of a size smaller than the diameter of the bar 3 in order to achieve a stable clipping of the bracelet on the bar 3. In this embodiment, one therefore plays on an elastic deformation of the tube when the strip 3 is introduced into the tube 2.
  • the strap part 1 (or the strap) is made of synthetic material and has been molded onto the tube 2.
  • the part 1 can therefore be the strap directly (for example a bracelet in synthetic material) or else a part which will be attached to a bracelet, which will be called insert in the following.
  • the figures 2 and 3 illustrate another embodiment (not covered by the present invention) in which the attachment means are formed by a hollow element 9 with two parts of different diameters, a first open part 9' and a second part 9" in the form
  • the bar first enters the first part (3" bar) and then is forced into the second 9" part (3' bar) which is a stable hooking position.
  • the bar will remain in the 3' position and will not come out.
  • the transition from the first part 9' to the second part 9" takes place for example by elastic deformation of the part 9' or of the boss 10.
  • this mode can be applied to the bracelet directly (for example when the bracelet is molded over the part 9) or to an insert 1 then fixed to the bracelet according to the principles of the present invention and described above.
  • the picture 3 illustrates an embodiment (not covered by the present invention) similar to that of the figure 2 , but in a more compact form in which the entry of the first part 9 'is of a dimension equal to or less than the diameter of the bar 3.
  • the figure 4 illustrates another embodiment not covered by the present invention.
  • the tube 2 is replaced by a carabiner 5.
  • This system is more secure than the previous one, but less practical and less simple. Similar to the embodiments described above, this mode can be applied directly to the bracelet (which is overmolded) or to an insert 1 which is also molded, said insert then being attached to the bracelet.
  • the closure 5' of the carabiner is illustrated in dashed lines during the introduction of the bar 3 and in solid lines after the introduction of the bar (reference 3').
  • the carabiner 5 can be made of any suitable material, for example plastic or metal.
  • the figure 5 illustrates another embodiment (not covered by the present invention) comprising a curved cage 6 in which the bar 3 is introduced.
  • a spring means here a leaf spring 7 is provided.
  • a boss 8 in the cage 6 can be produced by a bead of material, for example of the material used to form the cage.
  • This embodiment can for example be used to make an insert 1 which will then be fixed to the bracelet. Typically, this would be the case if one wants to keep a leather strap or another material which is not suitable for making the cage.
  • This cage can therefore directly form an insert which is then attached to the bracelet, for example by gluing, sewing or the like, or it can be fixed to an insert which will be attached to the bracelet.
  • Cage 6 can be made of any suitable material, for example plastic or metal.
  • the figure 6 illustrates another embodiment (not covered by the present invention) comprising a cage 15, for example made of metal or plastic, in which a spring element 16 is fixed.
  • the strip 3 is introduced into the cage 15 and the spring element 16 makes it possible to maintain it in the cage 15, for example by means of bosses 17, 18. These bosses can for example be formed directly on the spring 16 or by an addition of suitable material.
  • the cage 15 can be directly integrated into the bracelet (which is for example overmolded) or else form part of an insert which will then be fixed to the bracelet as described above.
  • the fastening system comprises a hook 20 in which is a spring 21 which presses the bar 3 inside the hook 20.
  • This hook can be an extension of the bracelet 22 or form an insert which is fixed to a bracelet.
  • Reference 23 indicates the case of the watch to which the bracelet is attached.
  • the figure 8 illustrates the principle of fixing the system to a watch case according to an embodiment not covered by the present invention.
  • the fastening system will be referenced 24 as a general identification and the bracelet/insert 25, but it is clear that all the embodiments described in the present application may be affected by the principle set out in this figure 8 and can operate according to this principle.
  • Other principles are of course possible depending on the configuration of the elements forming the device and the invention is not limited to the attachment of a bracelet to a watch case.
  • a first step (1) the bar 3 (or a pin) is inserted into the fixing system 24. This step is preferably carried out by orienting the strap/insert 25 at around 90° with respect to the case as illustrated. Then, in (2), the bar 3 is brought into its stable position in the fastening system.
  • the bracelet/insert 25 is brought into its position of use which will be that assumed when wearing the watch. In this position, the system is naturally locked because an output movement of the bar is prevented by the case of the watch 23. The risk of loss of the watch is therefore avoided by this locking.
  • the system includes locking means which are described in more detail below. More precisely, the system comprises an insert 30 which is fixed to the bracelet of a watch for example.
  • the bracelet and the insert 30 can be attached by different means and principles (in particular depending on the materials used): gluing, sewing, overmolding of the bracelet on the insert, etc.
  • the insert can be formed directly by the bracelet and not be a part fixed to the bracelet.
  • locking means are used which make it possible to ensure the mounting of the system, for example on a watch case.
  • These locking means comprise in particular a flexible blade 31, for example made of metal or any other suitable material, which is actuated by actuating means comprising for example a push-button 32.
  • actuating means comprising for example a push-button 32.
  • the button 32 it is not necessarily necessary to actuate the button 32 and the bar 3 is introduced into the insert by pushing the blade 31 (see the position of the blade illustrated in dashed lines in the figure 9 ).
  • the blade 31 can return to its initial position (for example at rest) which is that illustrated in solid lines in the figure. In this state, the strip 3' is clipped and can no longer come out of the insert 30.
  • buttons 32 When you want to remove the bracelet from the watch (for example), it is necessary to actuate the button 32, for example by pressure, to push the blade 31 to the bottom of the insert 30, in the position illustrated by dashed lines to allow the strip to come out (from 3' to 3).
  • the button has for example a cylindrical shape with a collar 33 to prevent it from falling, or other equivalent means to obtain the same effect.
  • the button 32 can of course have any suitable shape and be formed from any suitable material: synthetic, metal, alloys, mixtures, etc.
  • the push button 32 can also be fixed on the blade (eg as an added piece), or any other solution, including the blade 31 itself could have a geometry including this push button function.
  • This variant is illustrated in figure 10 and includes the same elements as those described with reference to the figure 9 .
  • the blade 31 is however different and it includes a boss 34 which replaces the push button 32 of the figure 9 .
  • This variant has the advantage of simplicity with a reduced number of parts required. Alternatively, one could combine a boss and a button.
  • the blade 31 may in particular comprise two bends, one to limit the stroke (bend 1) and the other to hold the button in a stable position against a stop (bend 2). These folds are illustrated in the figures 9 and 10 by the references P1 and P2.
  • a button 32 actuates the blade 31 to release the bar 3.
  • Other means equivalent to the button, for example shape of the blade or others are possible and can be envisaged within the scope of the invention.
  • a ramp 35 can be provided on the insert 1 in order to allow guided and easy extraction of the bar 3, see the figures 9 and 10 . Such a ramp 35 can be applied in all modes or not.
  • the blade 31 it is sufficient for the blade 31 to pass above the axis of the strip 3 for extraction to be possible so that the necessary travel of the blade 31 is very small, which allows the assembly of the system on thin bracelets.
  • the figure 11 illustrates another embodiment of the invention.
  • the button 32 is articulated on the insert 1 by a pin 36 and includes an extension 37 to facilitate its actuation by a user.
  • the figure 12 illustrates another embodiment of the invention which uses an elastic element 40, for example a spring or a leaf spring, fixed inside the insert to take up the play around the bar 3.
  • This element 40 can be used in all embodiments of the invention and the game can be caught up for example by the three points of support on the bar, formed by the spring element 40, the ramp 35 and the blade 31.
  • the direction of taking up play is illustrated in the figure 11 by the two-way arrow.
  • the element 40 can have any suitable shape: rounded or otherwise.
  • the position of the blade at rest is that the end of the blade should preferably be below the axis passing through the center of the bar or axis 3.
  • the bending of the blade makes it possible in particular to adjust the locking safety of the bracelet which is given by the distance along the Y axis between the end of the blade and the horizontal axis passing through the center of the bar or axis.
  • the figure 13 shows different embodiments of the blade 31 according to the invention, illustrated in details 1 to 3.
  • the blade 31 includes cutouts 41 at its end and the parts 42, 43, 44 are bent relative to each other.
  • parts 42 and 44 are in the same plane while the central part 43 is bent upwards.
  • the number of cutouts is only an example and one can imagine a variant with a single cutout, or more than two cutouts.
  • the end of the blade 31 comprises a deformation 45 in the form of a bridge.
  • This deformation 45 can be centered (as in detail 2) or not. Similarly, one can provide a single deformation 45 or more, of symmetrical shape and/or position or not.
  • an embodiment has been illustrated with an added part 46 with two parts in the form of a bridge 47, 48.
  • the added part 46 has another shape , a single bridge (as in detail 2) or several.
  • the construction can be symmetrical or not.
  • the added piece can be made of any suitable material, the same as the blade 31 or not. It can be fixed by any appropriate process (gluing, welding, screwing, complementary shapes, insertion, etc.).
  • the figure 14 illustrates another embodiment of the invention.
  • the insert 30 and the leaf spring 31 have a notch or cutout 50, respectively 51, allowing the assembly to be mounted on a pin buckle.
  • the purpose of the notch 50 is to allow the passage of the barb of a bracelet buckle and thus to allow the use of this system according to the invention on the interchangeability of a watch bracelet or belt buckle.
  • the invention has numerous applications and is not limited to the examples described in the present application.
  • the blade 31 is attached to the insert 30 or to the bracelet by any appropriate means: gluing, screwing, sewing, overmolding (of the insert) etc.
  • buttons 32 can be used on all execution modes, for example those of figures 12 to 14 .
  • Details 1 to 3 of the figure 13 may apply to blades of other execution modes. Numerous variants can therefore be envisaged by combining the characteristics of one mode of execution with another.
  • the system can be formed on the wristband, or attached to it, or even form part of an insert which is itself attached to a wristband.
  • the system can also be used to attach a pin buckle or a folding clasp to a bracelet.
  • Any suitable materials can be used for the different parts of the invention, for example metal or alloys, plastics and the like, also in combination. Reinforcement means can also be provided.
