Description

The invention is concerned with a fog body for generating a cloud of fog or wall for protecting an object, vehicle or the like from a threat.

Conventional pyrotechnic mist bodies for artillery and mortar applications generally consist of containers in which the pyrotechnic mist set is pressed and a cover placed thereon with at least one blow-out opening for the outlet of the mist formed during combustion. Such a smoke bullet shows, for example DE 33 39 039 A1 . In the projectile jacket of the smoke projectile, mist pots or fog bodies are arranged one on top of the other in the firing direction, which are ejected from this projectile jacket after being fired.

The US 3,685,450 A discloses a floating grenade bowl, for example to serve as smoke protection or marking for the respective location on the water. On the bottom side, the grenade has a floating device. When the ammunition is fully inserted into the buoyancy device, the bottom of the ammunition rests on the ring flange of the buoyancy device to leave a space between the bottom of the grenade and the bottom of the buoyancy device. A hole in the bottom of the floating device serves to allow the grenade contents etc. to escape. A hole in the grenade bottom is directed into the space between the bottom of the grenade and the bottom of the swimming facility. The grenade sits frictionally in the swimming facility. A slinging device serves to prevent the grenade from being driven out of the floating device if gases escape from the hole in the grenade bottom into the intermediate space and the grenade is driven against the slinging device.

In the GB 2 162 621 A describes a throwing body consisting of an electrically actuated contact head and a can-shaped throwing agent container arranged thereon and closed with a lid. When the throwing body is fired, in addition to igniting and distributing the combustible leaflets that may be located in it, a pressing body is also ignited and disassembled via an ignition disassembly unit, a wall of the Throwing agent container is disassembled. The flammable pellets falling to the ground draw a mist curtain, which they nourish by burning them off from the ground.

In the DE 10 2011 100 2243 A1 an active mass container with a lid and at least one blow-out opening and an active mass incorporated in the active mass container is presented. The lid includes ribs to stiffen the active substance container. The lid and the ribs can form a structural unit. Depending on the load, the ribs can in turn run from the center tube to the outer edge of the active substance container.

Usable fog bodies describe, for example DE 10 2008 019 752 A1 as well as the DE 103 08 307 B4 . The fog submunition of the DE 103 08 307 B4 has a submunition shell made of steel, inside of which there is an active mass. The submunition shell is provided with a cover in the firing direction. In this there is a blow-out hole from which the fog can emerge after the active mass has been ignited. Also the DE 10 2008 019 752 A1 shows a submunition with active masses, such as pyrotechnic fog, the active substance container being closed by a cover with a blow-out opening.

For manufacturing reasons and due to the high load when the projectiles are fired, the fog bodies are mounted in the storeys so that the exhaust openings point in the direction of flight. After being fired from the projectile, the smoke bodies continue to fly in this orientation. This can lead to the fog bodies being extinguished if they hit the ground. This situation cannot be ruled out if large amounts of wet ground or snow penetrate the discharge opening (s).

In some cases, the fog bodies are provided with parachutes or brake pads to reduce the speed of impact, such as in the DE 196 02 422 C1 contemplated.

Since it is not always possible to prevent these, in particular textile brake pads or parachutes, from being damaged, and moreover, the assembly effort is very high, the object of the invention is to show another possibility for increasing the reliability of fog bodies while minimizing the assembly effort.

The object is achieved in an alternative manner by the features of the two independent claims 1 and 2. Advantageous refinements can be found in the subclaims.

The invention is based on the idea of realizing the increase in reliability by additional protection of the blow-out opening (s) in the upper part of the mist body.

The mist body consists of a mist body shell, which is closed from above by means of a cover with at least one blow-out opening and has a mist body floor on the bottom side. A fog mass is introduced into the mist body shell.

It is now provided according to the invention to mount an attachment above the lid with the at least one blow-out opening, which protects the blow-out opening itself, or to design the lid itself in this way. An alternative to this is to provide the at least one blow-out opening with a flap which can be released under the pressure of the mist which is building up. In both versions it is achieved that no foreign bodies, such as dirt, dirt or the like, can enter the at least one blow-out opening. This prevents the fog body from going out when it hits the ground. The use of a cover, which covers the at least one blow-out opening and blows out the resulting gases to the side or via at least one flap, prevents dirt, etc. from penetrating in a simple manner when the mist body hits the floor. It goes without saying that a combination of both variants is also possible.

As a result, the area of application of the fog bodies can be expanded and is no longer dependent on the environment, since a function can be guaranteed even on very wet floors and / or snow. In addition, the material required for implementation is low, the assembly effort is minimal. Since the basic structure of the smoke body itself, as well as the arrangement of the smoke body on the floor, are retained, the manufacturing process does not have to be changed. The existing equipment can continue to be used.

A mist body with a mist body shell and a mist mass embedded therein, a mist body bottom and a top of the mist body is proposed, the mist body having at least one blow-out opening in its top of the mist body. To avoid the at least one blow-out opening when the fog body hits the target area with dirt, dust, dirt, soil etc. is added, there is an attachment on the fog body bottom side, which is spaced from the upper side of the fog body via supports, at least two. Alternatively or additionally, the at least one blow-out opening can be closed by a flap which, when a sufficient gas pressure has set in the mist body, releases the at least one blow-out opening. If there are several exhaust openings, a separate flap can be provided for each.

The invention will be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment with a drawing.

Es zeigt:

Fig. 1
Fig. 2
It shows:
Fig. 1
a first variant of protecting at least one outlet opening of a fog body,
Fig. 2
a further variant the protection of at least one blow-out opening of the mist body.

In Fig. 1 a sketch of a mist body 1 with a mist body shell 2, a mist body top 3 and a mist body bottom 4 is shown. The mist body 1 contains a mist mass 5 for generating a mist.

On its upper side 3, the fog body 1 has at least one blow-out opening 6, but preferably several, through which the fog can emerge from the fog body 1. This at least one blow-out opening 6 can be introduced in a cover 3 'covering the upper side 3.

According to the invention, an attachment 7 is now provided on this upper side 3 or on the lid 3 ', which is spaced apart from the upper side 3 or the lid 3'. For this purpose, supports 8 are attached to the attachment 7. These can be made in one piece with the attachment 7. The supports 8 can also be attached to the lid 3 'or on the top 3 and be part of this, if necessary also in one piece. If the mist body 1 hits the floor, the at least one blow-out opening 6 is spaced apart from the floor by the attachment 7. The mist that builds up emerges from the outlet opening (s) and then laterally out of the mist body 1.

An alternative shows that Fig. 2 . The at least one blow-out opening 6 is closed here by a flap 9 assigned to it. Similar to a check valve, the flap 9 opens the blow-out opening 6 when a certain gas pressure has built up inside the mist body shell 2 after the mist mass 5 has been ignited. When the flap (s) 9 are opened, the mist flows out of the mist body 1. The flap (s) 9 protect the blow-out opening (s) 6 when the mist body 1 strikes the floor and push dirt, dirt snow, etc. away when opened.
