Ein Schiebeverschluss für ein Metallschmelze enthaltendes Gefäss ist mit einem Schiebergehäuse (1), einer darin längsgeführten Schiebereinheit mit einer Schubstange (2), einer Halterung (5) sowie mit einem in letzterer wegnehmbar befestigten Linearantrieb (6) mit einer Antriebsstange (4) versehen. Diese Antriebsstange (4) ist mit der Schubstange (2) der Schiebereinheit durch eine Kupplung (3) verbindbar. Die Kupplung (3) ist derart ausgestaltet, dass sie bei dem in die Halterung (5) eingeschobenen Linearantrieb (6) durch ein Verschieben der Antriebsstange (4) gegen die Schiebereinheit selbsttätig kuppelt, währenddem sie beim Herausnehmen des Linearantriebes (6) aus der Halterung (5) quer zur Verschieberichtung der Antriebsstange (4) entkuppelt.
