Definitions
- the invention relates to a shelf and its parts, in particular shelves or grid shelves.
- Metal shelves are commonly used in shop fitting and storage technology. Such shelves comprise slotted columns into which brackets are hung.
- the brackets serve as support arms for shelf shelves that rest on the brackets.
- the shelf shelves are usually made from stamped sheet metal parts that are appropriately bent and provided with beads and grooves to make them torsion-resistant.
- such shelf shelves are often provided with stiffening profiles (sub-beams) that are welded or glued to their underside.
- US 3 603 274 A discloses a shelf with another shelf base made of sheet metal, which has a bead on its front edge.
- the preamble of claim 1 is based on such a shelf.
- mesh shelves are known, in which the support surface for the goods is made of a wire mesh.
- EN 202010018122 U1 discloses such a grid shelf, on the underside of which reinforcing profiles are welded. Along the front edge of this grid shelf, a round bar is attached to the Welded wire mesh. Price and label signs can be clamped onto these round wires, facing a viewer standing in front of the shelf.
- Sheet metal shelves and mesh shelves each have their own advantages and disadvantages.
- Sheet metal shelves are lighter and more economical and are suitable for displaying most goods. However, they require more frequent cleaning as dirt can accumulate on them, particularly in the groove mentioned.
- Mesh shelves are less likely to accumulate dirt. However, they are not suitable for goods that could fall through the mesh or get caught in it. However, when unloaded, they shade lower shelves less than sheet metal shelves. Due to the specific advantages of each design, it is often desirable to use a mix of sheet metal shelves and mesh shelves on the same shelf. However, with conventional shelves this results in a busy and inconsistent appearance.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of creating a shelf that can be manufactured economically and has a flawless appearance.
- the shelf according to claim 1 has a shelf base with a support surface made of sheet metal for supporting goods, on the front edge of which a bead is formed that protrudes upwards above the support surface.
- a bead When the shelf base is in use, the front edge faces the viewer, i.e. the customer in the case of a shop shelf.
- the bead helps to prevent goods from falling forwards from the support surface.
- the bead stiffens the front edge of the shelf base and counteracts its bending under load.
- the bead can also be used as a means of attaching price or label signs.
- the shelf base When using the shelf base in a shelf according to claim 1 together with a grid shelf base, to the support surface of which a round rod is welded along the front edge from above and below, a uniform appearance is obtained.
- the hollow profile preferably has When viewed from the side, the shelf base has the same contour, i.e. essentially the same outline of its cross-sectional shape, as the two round bars of the grid shelf base, and when placed on similar shelf brackets, the support surfaces and the two contours on the front of the shelf and the grid shelf base are at the same height and largely congruent.
- the appearance of the shelf is therefore homogeneous and uniform, regardless of whether and how the shelf base is installed mixed with the grid shelf base in the shelf.
- the same price or label signs can then be attached either to the shelf base or to the grid shelf base.
- Claims 2 to 3 relate to expedient embodiments of the bead.
- the support surface of the shelf base is made of sheet metal and the bead is formed by a hollow profile made of sheet metal in one piece with the support surface.
- the hollow profile forming the bead has a cross-sectional shape with rounded edges and protrudes both upwards and downwards beyond the plane of the support surface.
- it has a flat front surface which points upwards when the support surface is oriented horizontally.
- the round shape avoids unpleasantly sharp edges on the front edge of the shelf base facing the viewer.
- Price or label signs can be clamped onto the hollow profile designed in this way, for example rails with a transparent plastic surface behind which written cards can be inserted. These then point towards the viewer with the front surface facing upwards. If the bead protrudes downwards rather than upwards beyond the support surface, it is sufficiently rigid, but hardly contributes to the accumulation of dirt on the support surface.
- the shelf bracket has a nose at its front end, which, according to claim 7, is slightly larger than the said contour of the hollow profile or the contour of the two round bars when viewed from the side.
- This nose covers any sharp edges at the ends of the hollow profile on both sides of the shelf base and protects any price and label signs against being accidentally pulled off from the side.
- claims 8 and 9 allow the shelf or grid shelf to rest securely on shelf brackets and thus lock or clamp in place.
- a shelf or grid shelf with two brackets can be handled as a unit and hung on shelf columns at the desired height.
- top, bottom, front, back, “left” and “right” refer to the view when the shelf parts are used as intended in a shelf.
- the viewer is in front of the shelf, for example the customer in front of a store shelf, and looks “front” at the front edge of the shelf base on which goods are displayed.
- the shelf base rests on brackets that are hung in shelf columns “back”, i.e. on the side of the shelf facing away from the viewer.
- the Figure 1 The shelf base 1 shown in perspective from the top right front has a flat support surface 2 for placing goods on.
- a hollow profile 4 is formed on the front edge 3 of the support surface 2, which forms a bead with a rounded cross section along the front edge 3. This hollow profile 4 is shown below in connection with Figure 2 described in more detail.
- Three sub-beams 5 serving as reinforcement profiles are attached to the underside of the support surface 2 and run parallel to the front edge 3.
- the hollow profile 4 and the sub-beams 5 are approximately the same length and only slightly shorter than the extension of the shelf base between its left and right sides.
- a flange 6 is bent downwards on the side edges to the left and right of the support surface 2. Close to the rear end of the shelf base 1, two short vertical cuts are made in the material of the Support surface 2 and the respective flange 6 and the web 7 formed from the material between the two cuts is pressed into the space under the support surface 2 so that it forms a small eyelet protruding into the space under the support surface 2.
- each flange 6 has a bulge 8 protruding into the space under the support surface 2 near the front edge 3.
- the support surface 2, the hollow profile 4 and the flanges 6 are made in one piece from a single sheet steel blank, which is Figure 1 shown is folded and edged.
- the sub-beams 5 are also made of sheet steel and are glued or spot-welded to the support surface 2 from below.
- Figure 2 shows the shelf base 1 in a view from the left. This view shows how the hollow profile 4 is formed in one piece onto the support surface 2.
- the material here sheet steel, from which the shelf base is made, is first bent upwards and then downwards in a bead-like curve, where this material forms a flat front surface 9.
- the material is bent further in an arc towards the underside of the support surface 2 where it is welded from below to the support surface 2, expediently spot-welded.
- the hollow profile 4 stiffens the front edge of the shelf base 1 and counteracts its bending when loaded.
- the hollow profile 4 with a small bending radius protrudes slightly above the support surface 2. This can prevent goods from moving forward (right in Figure 2 ) from sliding down from the support surface 2. Below the front surface 9, the hollow profile 4 has a larger bending radius. Overall, an arrangement is obtained in which the front surface 9 is facing slightly upwards.
- Price or label signs (not shown) can be attached to the hollow profile 4, which have a C-shaped cross-section and enclose the hollow profile 4. The lettering on such signs then advantageously lies on the front surface 9, which faces diagonally upwards. This means that the lettering can be easily read by a viewer looking from diagonally above.
- a shelf bracket 31 is shown in Figure 3 shown in a view also from the left. It has a support edge 32 on its top side, on which the shelf base 1 rests with the underside of its support surface 2 in the gap between the lower supports 5 and the flange 6. At its rear end, the bracket 31 has hooks 35 for hanging in slotted shelf columns. At its front end, it is provided with a nose 34 protruding upwards over the support edge 32.
- the nose 34 When viewed from the side as in the Figures 2 and 3 the nose 34 has essentially the same contour as the hollow profile 4. This means that the contour or outline of the nose 34 is slightly larger than the contour of the hollow profile 4. Thus, when the shelf is mounted, the nose 34 covers any sharp-edged ends of the hollow profile 4 and also prevents price or label signs clamped onto the hollow profile 4 from being accidentally pushed down or stripped off to the side away from the hollow profile.
- the contour of the nose 34 includes an essentially straight edge 39 which, like the front surface 9 of the hollow profile 4, points upwards to the front.
- the bracket 31 Near the rear end of the bracket 31, there is a substantially L-shaped recess 36 in the support edge 32, which leaves a freely projecting tongue 37 protruding from the back to the front along the support edge 32. Near its front end, the bracket 31 has a recess 38.
- the web 7 When the shelf base 1 is placed on the bracket 31, the web 7 is inserted into the L-shaped recess 36 with an L-shaped movement; the tongue thus enters the aforementioned eyelet formed by the web and the web 7 is thus hooked under the tongue 37. At the same time, the bulge 8 snaps into the recess 38.
- the bracket 31 and the shelf base 1 are thus firmly locked and clamped together.
- the shelf base 1 has two similar flanges 6 on both sides. Each of them can be locked to a bracket 31 in the manner described.
- a unit thus created, consisting of a shelf base and two brackets, can be easily handled and hung in the desired location in slotted shelf columns.
- grid shelves 41 can be mounted on the brackets 31 according to Figure 4 hang up.
- the Figure 4 perspective from the top right front Grid shelf base 41 has a flat support surface 42 made of wire mesh for supporting goods. Reinforcing profiles 45 running parallel to its front edge 43 are welded to the underside of the support surface 42.
- a profile strip 46 is welded to the lateral ends of the reinforcing profiles 45 along the left and right sides of the support surface 42.
- This has an inverted U-shaped cross section with an inner leg 46-1 welded to the reinforcing profiles 45 and an outer leg 46-2.
- the outer leg 46-2 corresponds to the flange 6 of the shelf base 1 and is provided with a web 47 which corresponds to the web 7 of the shelf base 1.
- the web 7, 47 does not have to form a closed eyelet but can also take the form of a tab with a tip that projects inwards, in this case into the space between the legs 46-1 and 46-2.
- the bracket is inserted into the gap between the inner leg 46-1 and the outer leg 46-2 and locked and clamped to the web 47 and the bulge 48 in the same way as was described for the shelf 1.
- a view of the grid shelf 41 from the left is shown in Figure 5
- a first round bar 44-1 running along the front edge 43 is welded onto the support surface from above.
- a second round bar 44-2 which also runs along the front edge 43 and has a slightly larger diameter than the first round bar 44-1, is welded onto the support surface 42 from below.
- the two round bars 44-1 and 44-2 stiffen the front edge 43 against bending under load. They also mask any sharp edges of the wire mesh of the support surface 42.
- the first round bar 44-1 also prevents goods from accidentally slipping forwards from the support surface 42 (on the right in Figure 5 ).
- the grid shelf 41 like the shelf 1, is conveniently made of steel.
- the entirety of the two round bars 44-1 and 44-2 on the front edge 43 of the grid shelf 41 when viewed from the side, has approximately the same contour or outline as the hollow profile 4 of the Shelf base 1.
- the same C-shaped price or label signs (not shown) as on the hollow profile 4 can be clamped onto the two round bars 44-1 and 44-2.
- the nose 34 of the bracket 31 also covers the side ends of the round bars 44-1, 44-2 in the same way as the side ends of the hollow profile 4. Even when shelf bases 1 and grid shelves 41 are used together in the same shelf, a homogeneous, uniform appearance is thus achieved.

Description
The invention relates to a shelf and its parts, in particular shelves or grid shelves.
Metal shelves are commonly used in shop fitting and storage technology. Such shelves comprise slotted columns into which brackets are hung. The brackets serve as support arms for shelf shelves that rest on the brackets. The shelf shelves are usually made from stamped sheet metal parts that are appropriately bent and provided with beads and grooves to make them torsion-resistant. In addition, such shelf shelves are often provided with stiffening profiles (sub-beams) that are welded or glued to their underside.

As an alternative to shelf shelves made of sheet metal, mesh shelves are known, in which the support surface for the goods is made of a wire mesh.
Sheet metal shelves and mesh shelves each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Sheet metal shelves are lighter and more economical and are suitable for displaying most goods. However, they require more frequent cleaning as dirt can accumulate on them, particularly in the groove mentioned. Mesh shelves are less likely to accumulate dirt.
The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a shelf that can be manufactured economically and has a flawless appearance.
This object is achieved with a shelf according to
The shelf according to
When using the shelf base in a shelf according to claim 1 together with a grid shelf base, to the support surface of which a round rod is welded along the front edge from above and below, a uniform appearance is obtained. This is because the hollow profile preferably has When viewed from the side, the shelf base has the same contour, i.e. essentially the same outline of its cross-sectional shape, as the two round bars of the grid shelf base, and when placed on similar shelf brackets, the support surfaces and the two contours on the front of the shelf and the grid shelf base are at the same height and largely congruent. The appearance of the shelf is therefore homogeneous and uniform, regardless of whether and how the shelf base is installed mixed with the grid shelf base in the shelf. The same price or label signs can then be attached either to the shelf base or to the grid shelf base.
Appropriate shapes of the bead are specified in
Preferably, the shelf bracket has a nose at its front end, which, according to
The measures of

Gleiche Bezugszeichen bezeichnen in allen Figuren gleiche Elemente. The same reference symbols refer to the same elements in all figures. The terms "top", "bottom", "front", "back", "left" and "right" refer to the view when the shelf parts are used as intended in a shelf. The viewer is in front of the shelf, for example the customer in front of a store shelf, and looks "front" at the front edge of the shelf base on which goods are displayed. The shelf base rests on brackets that are hung in shelf columns "back", i.e. on the side of the shelf facing away from the viewer.
