Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for at least partial pyrolysis and at least partial oxidation and, if necessary, partial gasification of an organic component of a powdery bulk material of at least partly organic origin.
- the at least partial pyrolysis or the at least partial oxidation can each independently be a complete or a partial pyrolysis or oxidation.
- the carbon contained in the organic fraction is partially oxidized and combined with water or steam to form water gas, i. H. a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. It is important in the process that the product of the process contains phosphorus contained therein in a form that can be easily used by plants.
- the organic origin can be at least one human being, at least one animal, at least one plant, at least one alga and/or at least one fungus.
- the organic origin can also be of microbial origin. All bulk materials of at least partly organic origin contain carbon and phosphorus.
- the bulk material can, for. B. sewage sludge, animal droppings, algae, peat or lignite each in at least partially dried form or include sawdust.
- the bulk material can contain an inorganic component, e.g. B. in the form of fine sand or minerals, of up to 70 wt .-%.
- a method and a device for obtaining a product from the gasification of a bulk material of at least partially organic origin with at least partial oxidation of the bulk material are already known, wherein the product contains phosphorus in a form easily digestible by plants.
- a bed of the bulk material is introduced into a reaction space of a reactor and moved therein continuously or intermittently.
- the bulk material is heated on the upper side of the bed to a temperature at which pyrolysis of the organic part of the bulk material occurs.
- air or another gas mixture containing oxygen is blown into the bed via at least one injection opening in at least one tool moving continuously or intermittently through the bed.
- the blowing in of air or other gas mixture is regulated in such a way that the amount of air or gas mixture is only sufficient for incomplete oxidation of the organic component of the bulk material in the reaction space.
- the bulk material is fed into the reaction space from above and removed from the bottom of the reaction space.
- the gas that is blown in and the gas that is produced move upwards in the reaction space and the bulk material moves downwards in the opposite direction.
- the method has proven itself for bulk material through which the gas can flow evenly.
- a deck furnace for sludge and waste incineration is known.
- the kiln has several ring-shaped hearths arranged one above the other, over which the material to be burned is conveyed alternately radially inwards and outwards and onto the next lower hearth by means of rabble arms equipped with inclined stirring teeth.
- the top hearths are used for drying and the bottom hearths for slag and ash cooling.
- the flocks alternately have internal and external drainage openings.
- the agitator teeth on successive rabble arms have an alternate inward and outward engagement.
- the combustion air can be fed into the deck oven via a hollow shaft into the hollow rabble arms, which are provided with outlet openings near the stirring teeth.
- dust is swirled up.
- the object of the present invention is to specify an alternative method for at least partial pyrolysis and at least partial oxidation of an organic component of a dust-containing or dust-like bulk material at least partially of organic origin, which involves relatively uniform oxidation of the organic component of the bulk material and a relatively low dust load in the resulting flue gas allows. Furthermore, a device suitable for carrying out the method is to be specified.
- a method for the at least partial pyrolysis and at least partial oxidation of an organic component of a dust-containing or dust-like bulk material of at least partly organic origin.
- the bulk material can be a bulk material that behaves like or at least similarly to a fluid.
- the term "bulk material” refers not only to the bulk material used in the process, but also to any solid, free-flowing intermediate product or product, which may also include ash, that is produced in the course of the process from the bulk material originally used.
- the bulk material can be present in a non-, partially or fully pyrolyzed form and/or in a non-, partially or fully oxidized form.
- the method is carried out according to claim 1.
- the gas mixture can optionally contain water in the form of vapor or an aerosol.
- the bulk material can be brought into contact with water in addition to the gas mixture.
- the introduction according to step a) can take place continuously or intermittently.
- the bulk material introduced into the reaction space can be applied directly to the first reaction surface. However, it can also first be applied to at least one reaction surface located in front of the first reaction surface and from there only reach the first reaction surface.
- steps a) and b) can in each case be carried out independently of one another, continuously or intermittently.
- the transfer of the bulk material on or through the line means and the discharge of the bulk material from the reaction space or the further reaction space by means of the discharge means can each take place independently of one another using gravity or by active conveyance, for example by means of a screw conveyor.
- the gas mixture containing oxygen can be air.
- the gas mixture can also comprise an oxidation gas produced during the at least partial oxidation and possibly also a combustion gas produced during its combustion and no or at least less oxygen than originally.
- the bulk material follows the force of gravity in the course of the process, so that the discharge means is usually arranged in the lower part of the reaction space and below the second and possibly further reaction surface(s).
- a gas outlet opening for the gas mixture is usually in the upper part of the reaction space and above the first and optionally at least one of the first Reaction surface arranged upstream reaction surface. After it has been brought into contact with the bulk material, the gas mixture therefore usually flows upwards in the reaction space, flowing around all of the reaction surfaces.
- the inventors of the present invention have recognized that in the method according to EP 3 037 395 A1 when converting a dust-containing or dust-like bulk material, poor flowability of such a bulk material leads to a sharp drop in gas pressure in the bulk material and sometimes to the formation of flow channels and to considerable dust turbulence.
- the formation of flow channels leads to non-uniform oxidation processes in the reaction chamber that are therefore difficult to control and to a high dust load in the resulting flue gas.
- the high dust load is accompanied by a relatively high maintenance requirement.
- An essential advantage of the method according to the invention is that the formation of dust suspended in gas is at least largely avoided.
- the dust pollution of the waste gas produced in the process is thereby significantly reduced. This is achieved by preventing a gas stream from crossing a stream of bulk material, flowing through it or against it and the gas thereby entraining the dust contained in the bulk material. This is achieved by completely or at least essentially preventing a stream of the gas mixture from crossing or flowing through the bulk material moving on or through the conduit or from the gas mixture flowing through the conduit counter to the direction of movement of the bulk material.
- the bulk material is brought into contact with the oxygen-containing gas mixture in that the gas mixture is applied to it from above and/or from one side in such a way that that the gas mixture flows over the bulk material without flowing through the bed of the bulk material.
- the gas mixture is not like that from the EP 3 037 395 A1 known method blown into the bulk material.
- the temperature to which the bulk material is heated, so that pyrolysis of the organic part of the bulk material occurs is usually at least 250°C.
- the temperature depends on the type of bulk material. For sawdust, 250°C may suffice, while for dried sewage sludge, at least 500°C may be required.
- the temperature can be raised in a heating means, for example by an electric heating element or an electric heating coil or another electric heater, a heating chamber heated by gas or oil and/or by burning the gas produced during pyrolysis or by the incomplete oxidation of the bulk material above the bed , in particular in a combustion chamber, are generated.
- Heating the bulk material to a temperature sufficient for pyrolysis of the organic component of the bulk material is sufficient to cause oxidation of the organic component of the bulk material by blowing in the gas mixture and thereby at least maintain or even increase the temperature in the bulk material.
- the gas mixture or a further oxygen-containing gas mixture can be fed to the reaction chamber.
- the process according to the invention makes it possible to gasify the bulk material at a relatively low temperature in the range from 250° C. to 850° C., in particular 300° C. to 800° C., without temperature peaks above this range and thus a Softening, sintering or vitrification of the ash occurs.
- the resulting product is relatively homogeneous and has good plant availability of the phosphorus it contains.
- the resulting gas can be burned in a/the combustion chamber with the formation of combustion gas. A temperature of at least 850 °C can be reached.
- the combustion gas can be kept at this temperature with a residence time of at least two seconds, so that thereby the requirements of the 17th ordinance for the implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act of the Federal Republic of Germany can be met.
- the resulting combustion gas contains a relatively small amount of dust.
- the energy required to apply the gas mixture to the bulk material from above and/or from the side is significantly lower than when the gas mixture is blown into the bulk material, as can be seen from EP 3 037 395 A1 is known.
- a further advantage of impinging on the bulk material from above and/or from the side with the gas mixture containing oxygen while simultaneously mixing the bulk material is that the oxidation of the bulk material takes place much more evenly than when the gas mixture is blown into the bulk material.
- gas channels can form, which then lead to a locally intensified reaction or oxidation and associated local overheating and thus local softening, sintering or vitrification of the ash in the bulk material.
- the flow of the gas mixture is guided in the method according to the invention in such a way that it does not cross or flow through the bulk material, particularly in the area of the transition to the second reaction surface, or it flows counter to the bulk material through the conduit. Furthermore, in order to avoid raising dust, it is advantageous if the second spreading, mixing and moving means is independent of a means for impinging the bulk material with the gas mixture.
- the conduit is at least partially in the form of a channel, a gutter or a first sliding surface delimited at least on one side by a first protective wall. Since the gas mixture after contact with the bulk material usually flows upwards in the reaction chamber past the reaction surfaces on the inside or outside, the line means, which is at least partially in the form of a channel or a first sliding surface delimited at least on one side by the first protective wall, can protect the on or bulk material transferred through the conduit towards the flow of the gas mixture from below and at least from the side of the first protective wall. This protection is sufficient to completely or at least essentially prevent a flow of the gas mixture from crossing or flowing through the bulk material.
- the line means has a closing mechanism or sluice mechanism that the bulk material can pass in the direction of movement, which for the gas mixture is not or essentially not passable against the direction of movement.
- the closing mechanism may, for example, comprise a flap which opens under the weight of the bulk material or is opened by active control or actuation to let the bulk material through and which then closes again or is closed by active control or actuation and so completely or at least essentially prevents the gas mixture from being able to flow through the line means counter to the direction of movement of the bulk material.
- the sluice mechanism can include a cellular wheel sluice.
- Cellular wheel sluices are known in the prior art in a large number of configurations.
- the flow of the gas mixture through the conduit counter to the direction of movement of the bulk material can also be completely or at least substantially prevented by designing the conduit such that it is closed by a part of the bulk material remaining in the conduit.
- the line means is designed as a channel which, when used as intended or arranged as intended, has an upper and a lower end, with the part of the bulk material closing the lower end, and the bulk material at the lower end through the second spreading, mixing and moving means is only transported away to the second reaction surface in such a quantity that enough bulk material remains in the conduit to completely or at least substantially prevent the gas mixture from being able to flow through the conduit against the direction of movement of the bulk material.
- the channel mentioned here and the one previously mentioned can each be in the form of a tube.
- At least one additional reaction area is present and the bulk material is transferred between steps b) and c) from the second reaction area to the additional reaction area or one of the additional reaction areas and then in each case by means of a third spreading, moving and mixing means spread out, mixed and agitated and subjected to the oxygen-containing gas mixture from above and/or from one side in such a way that the gas mixture flows over the bulk material without flowing through the bed of the bulk material.
- the application of the oxygen-containing gas mixture and possibly water can be carried out here and in all other embodiments of the method according to the invention by arranging a surface for blowing in above the second reaction surface and, if present, the further reaction surface or each of the further reaction surfaces, which gas outlet openings on its underside, ie in the direction of the second reaction surface or the further reaction surface or each of the further reaction surfaces.
- the means for applying the gas mixture containing oxygen and possibly water can also be designed as a tube or bar with gas outlet openings in the direction of the respective bulk material and can be configured in such a way that it is moved over the bulk material in order to apply the gas mixture to the bulk material, for example in a circular motion.
- the transfer to the further reaction area can be effected by the transfer means, which is designed, in particular by the provision of at least one protective shield, a transfer chute, a second slide surface delimited at least on one side by a second protective wall, or a transfer channel, so that the bulk material is transported in front of it when transferred protects against being swirled by a flow of the gas mixture.
- the bulk material is moved towards the transfer means and optionally into the transfer means and on at least one of the further reaction surfaces, in particular through which the bulk material passed last, towards the diverting means and optionally into the diverting means.
- the transfer channel can be in the form of a tube.
- a plurality of further reaction surfaces can be present, with a transfer between the further reaction surfaces taking place in each case by a further transfer means which, in particular by the provision of at least one further protective shield, a further transfer channel, one delimited at least on one side by a third protective wall third sliding surface or another transfer channel, is designed in such a way that it protects the bulk material from being swirled by a flow of the gas mixture during transfer.
- the bulk material is in each case moved by the third spreading, moving and mixing means towards the further transfer means and optionally into the further transfer means. It is possible for the bulk material to be moved towards the diverting means and optionally into the diverting means only on the other reaction surfaces last passed through by the bulk material.
- the further transfer channel can also be designed in the form of a tube.
- At least one cooling surface is present and the bulk material before step c) from the second reaction surface or the further reaction surface or one of the further reaction surfaces is transferred to the cooling surface or one of the cooling surfaces and is spread out, mixed and moved thereon by means of a fourth spreading, mixing and moving means and the gas mixture or a further gas mixture is applied from above and/or from one side in such a way that that the gas mixture or the further gas mixture flows over the bulk material without flowing through the bed of the bulk material.
- the gas mixture or the other gas mixture has a lower temperature than the bulk material to which it is applied, with the transfer to the cooling surface and, if necessary, from one of the cooling surfaces to another of the cooling surfaces, taking place in each case by an additional further transfer means which is designed in such a way that it protects the bulk material from being swirled by a flow of the gas mixture or the further gas mixture during transfer.
- the first, second and/or the at least one further reaction surface and/or the at least one cooling surface are each independently a flat, a flat round, a flat circular, a flat polygonal or a cylindrical surface. If the first, second and/or the at least one further reaction surface and/or the at least one cooling surface is a flat, a flat round, a flat circular or a flat polygonal surface, the first, second, third and /or fourth means of propagation, mixing and movement can be fixed and the first, second and/or at least one further reaction surface and/or the at least one cooling surface can each be designed to be rotatable, in particular by arrangement on a common shaft, and with intended use or intended arrangement under at least one of the first, second, third and/or fourth means of spreading, mixing and moving, so that the bulk material spread out on the surface is thereby spread out, mixed and moved.
- the spreading, mixing and moving of the bulk material by means of the first, second, third and/or fourth spreading, mixing and moving means does not necessarily mean that the first, second, third and/or fourth spreading, mixing and means of movement must move. It is sufficient if there is a relative movement between the first, second and/or at least one further reaction surface and/or at least one cooling surface on the one hand and the first, second, third and/or fourth spreading, mixing and moving means on the other hand.
- An advantage associated with the fixed design of the first, second, third and/or fourth means of propagation, mixing and moving consists in a lower maintenance effort for them.
- a further advantage lies in the possibility of the line means, transfer means, further transfer means, additional further transfer means and/or diverting means also being fixed and in particular only at one point on the circumference of the first, second and/or at least one further reaction surface and/or at least one cooling surface to arrange.
- the conduction means, transfer means, further transfer means, additional further transfer means and/or diverting means can thus each be configured relatively simply.
- a line means, transfer means, further transfer means, additional further transfer means and/or discharge means arranged on the outside of the first, second and/or at least one further reaction surface and/or at least one cooling surface in a fixed manner at only one point makes it possible for the gas mixture to flow out relatively unhindered outside and outside in each case on the first, second and/or at least one further reaction surface and/or at least a cooling surface can flow relatively unhindered almost along its entire circumference.
- the area i. H. the first, second and/or at least one further reaction surface and/or the at least one cooling surface
- the area can be fixed and at least one first, second, third and/or fourth means of spreading, mixing and moving can be placed over each of the surfaces, in particular by Arrangement of all of the first, second, third and/or fourth spreading, mixing and moving means on a common shaft, be rotatably arranged and, when used as intended or arranged as intended, rotated over each of the surfaces so that the bulk material on the respective surface is thereby spread, mixed and moved.

- the bulk material can be at least partially heated from above by a combustion chamber, which is at least partially fed with gas produced during the pyrolysis and/or during the partial oxidation.
- the method can enable autothermal pyrolysis of the organic component of the bulk material.
- the energy required to carry out the pyrolysis does not have to be supplied externally by a heating device, but is produced by partial oxidation of the organic component of the bulk material or the gas produced from it. While the bulk material 10 is on the first reaction surface 16 and is being mixed by the rake 28, it is simultaneously heated from above by a heating means, not shown here, to a temperature sufficient for pyrolysis of the organic component contained in the bulk material 10.
- the oxygen-containing gas mixture 20 required for combustion in the heating medium is supplied from the outside.
- the resulting combustion gas 23 is discharged to the outside.
- scraper 25 As soon as it reaches the scraper 25 there, it is scraped down by the second reaction surface 18 and falls onto the further reaction surface 19, protected from a gas flow by the protective shield 26, which is designed, for example, as a protective plate 19 arranged scraper 25 serves to push the bulk material 10 that has reached the further reaction surface 19 from the area of accumulation inwards, so that it is spread out there by means of the rake 28, mixed and moved to the diversion means 22 and into the diversion means 22 will. This takes place in that the bulk material, as soon as it reaches the scraper 25 , is stripped off the further reaction surface 19 and falls into the diverting means 22 .

- the scrapers 25 are also designed to be stationary.
- the bulk material 10 on the second reaction surface 18 and the further reaction surface 19 is blown so lightly from above with the oxygen-containing gas mixture 20 from the gas inlet means 21 that on the one hand this does not cause dust to be swirled up, but on the other hand sufficient bulk material 10 is mixed with the gas mixture at the same time 20 comes into contact in order to bring about sufficient oxidation of the organic component of the bulk material 10 .
- the line means 17, the transfer means 24 and the relatively gentle application of the gas mixture 20 to the bulk material 10 from above ensure that the dusty bulk material or the dusty portion of the bulk material is not entrained with the gas mixture 20 and that there is no whirling or turbulence of the dusty bulk material or the dusty portion of the bulk material.
- the combustion gas 23 is prevented from becoming contaminated with dust.
- a very uniform oxidation of the organic component of the bulk material 10 is achieved by the thorough mixing of the bulk material 10 when it is subjected to the gas mixture.

- the scraper 25, the rake 28 and the second slide surface 32 with the protective wall 30 are each designed to be stationary, while the first 16, second 18 and further reaction surface 19 rotate under the respective rake 28. The rest of the procedure corresponds to that for the exemplary embodiment according to FIG 1 illustrated process.

Description
- Fig. 1
- Fig. 2
