Definitions
- the invention relates to a quenching chamber for extinguishing arcs for a contactor with a quenching device, a blowing device which blows arcs in the quenching device, and a plurality of lamellar arc-extinguishing elements, between which flow channels are formed.
- Contactors with such extinguishing chambers are used, for example, in railway operation for switching loads and for interrupting circuits with high currents and high voltages.
- the switching operation i.
- an arc is created at the contact points.
- the current flow between contacts is maintained.
- the arc releases a large amount of heat, which leads to the burning of the contacts and thus can reduce the life of the contactor.
- the entire area affected by the influence of the arc is subjected to very high thermal loads. Therefore, a quenching chamber is used, leading to a rapid collapse of the arc.
- the flow channels are parallel to each other and identical, so that the exiting plasma collects in the area at the outlet openings of the flow channels, and can lead to the thermal load of the quenching chamber and possibly to risk of arc leakage from the quenching chamber.
- the invention provides that the flow channels each have a scattering section, wherein the scattering sections of adjacent flow channels are formed differently inclined, so that the plasma occurring is deflected by the flow channels in different directions.
- the scattering of the exiting plasma in particular the average temperature at the ends of the flow channels facing away from the contact region is markedly reduced, so that a plasma concentration is prevented and the thermal load is reduced.
- the extinguishing device may in particular comprise one or more arc guide plates, which guide the arc of contact points in the extinguishing device when opening the contactor.
- two arc guide plates are arranged, which form a V-shape.
- at least one contact point is arranged with a fixed contact in the quenching chamber.
- the blowing device preferably generates a magnetic blowing field which blows arcs into the extinguishing device. This is preferably achieved in that the blowing device has at least one adjacent to the contact point arranged permanent magnet for generating a permanent magnetic blowing field and / or at least one adjacent to the contact point arranged coil for generating an electromagnetic blow field.
- the blower field can also be reinforced by magnetically conductive pole plates, which are preferably arranged in pairs parallel to each other with intermediate storage of the extinguishing device.
- the contact point is also arranged between the pole plates, so that in the region around the contact point, namely the switching region substantially a homogeneous magnetic blown field is formed.
- the fixed contact and / or the Lichtleitleitbech are preferably arranged such that resulting arcs are aligned substantially perpendicular to the magnetic Blasfeld, so that the acting Lorenzkraft is maximized.
- the flow channels are aligned substantially in the blowing direction, so that resulting plasma can be blown into the flow channels with a low resistance.
- the quenching chamber can be integrally integrated into the contactor or formed as a removable part of the contactor.
- the flow channels extend in opposite directions.
- some scattering sections preferably extend at an angle inclined to the blowing direction, while other scattering sections extend at the same angle, but in an opposite direction and inclined on the same plane to the blowing direction.
- This arrangement is particularly advantageous when a plurality of elongated extinguishing chambers are arranged side by side, wherein the plasma exits each of the extinguishing chambers in their transverse direction. Since a plurality of juxtaposed extinguishing chambers and thus several contactors are usually not opened at the same time, the space is optimally used for cooling via the scattering sections of different extinguishing chambers.
- the extinguishing device has a plurality of arc extinguishing elements, which are arranged next to each other, so that at least one flow channel is formed between two adjacent arc extinguishing elements.
- a flow channel is formed in each case between all adjacent arc-extinguishing elements.
- the arc-extinguishing elements may preferably be formed of ceramic, so that they can each be exposed to the outside with one of their ends.
- the arc extinguishing elements need not be protected to the outside by an additional electrically insulating cover, so that the cooling of the arc extinguishing elements is further improved.
- the flow channels may, but need not, each comprise an extinguishing section, which is arranged upstream in the blowing direction and forms part of the extinguishing device.
- the arc extinguishing elements are formed identically, each two successive arc extinguishing elements are mounted rotated by 180 degrees to each other, the arc extinguishing elements each at least a first air deflecting recess on a first side surface and at least a second air deflecting recess having the first side surface opposite, the second side surface.
- the first and the second recesses are inclined and matched to one another in such a way that the first recesses each form a scattering section with the adjacent second recesses, wherein the scattering sections in each case deflect the air differently.
- the flow channels each have a cross-sectional change that separates the erase portion from the spreader portion.
- the plasma is prevented from leaving the quenching chamber at too high a rate without being cooled by the spreader portion.
- the invention further relates to a fire extinguishing chamber for a contactor, wherein the extinguishing chamber comprises at least one contact point with a fixed contact, at least one extinguishing device, and a blowing device for generating a magnetic blow field, which blows arcs in the extinguishing device, wherein the blowing device at least one arranged adjacent to the contact point permanent magnets for generating a permanent magnetic blower field and / or at least one adjacent to the contact point arranged coil for generating an electromagnetic blower field, so that a resulting when opening the contact point arc is blown into the, at least one, extinguishing device, wherein at least two magnetically conductive pole plates with the intermediate storage of the permanent magnet and / or the coil are arranged parallel to each other, so that the blowing effect by magnetic fields for guiding the arcs in the v area is reached.

- the quenching chamber can have an insulating housing, wherein the pole plate is arranged outside the housing, so that the pole plate is magnetically but not electrically coupled to the current-carrying parts in the housing. Due to the size and stability of the pole plates, the strength of the lock is guaranteed without additional parts.
- a locking lever is eccentrically pivotally connected to the pivotable pole plate and held by a holder such that pivotal movement of the pole plate results in a translational movement of the locking lever.
- the pivot axis of the pole plate is spaced from the pivot axis of the locking lever, and thus provided eccentrically.
- the lock lever is pivotally connected at one end to the pole plate and held at the opposite, free end by the holder, which includes a movable safety latch, which in the locked state of the pole plate by a spring element into a locked position is pressed over the free end, so that the translational movement of the locking lever and thus also the pivoting movement of the pole plate is prevented by the safety lock.
- the holder may preferably be formed integrally on a housing half and with this.
- the free end is preferably the end facing away from the blowing device, so that the movable safety lock is easily accessible from the side facing away from the base part of the quenching chamber.
- a display element attached to the lock lever is visible in the unlocked state and is not visible in the locked state.
- the free end of the locking lever is marked in accordance with color, which is covered in a locked state due to the movable safety lock and thus not visible.
- the pivotal movement of the pivotable pole plate in both directions is limited by a stopper surface. This will ensure that the pivotable pole plate does not undesirably come in contact with other parts during assembly or inspection.

- mechanical contactors in contrast to semiconductor contactors, do not require a heat dissipating heat sink.
- the thermal situation of mechanical contactors is usually kept in a frame by e.g. low limit powers are specified or contact plates are oversized.
- the inventors have surprisingly found that a higher effective power of a contactor can be achieved without great effort, that a heat sink is attached to the previously known quenching chamber, which is thermally conductively connected to the fixed contact.
- the fixed contact may in particular be sheet-shaped and thus have a large contact area in the switching area in the vicinity of the contact point. Thus, a cooling of the switching range can be achieved particularly efficient by the heat sink.
- the extinguishing chamber further comprises an electrically insulating housing, wherein the fixed contact passes through the housing and thus forms an electrical connection to which the heat sink is mounted.

Description
The invention relates to a quenching chamber for extinguishing arcs for a contactor with a quenching device, a blowing device which blows arcs in the quenching device, and a plurality of lamellar arc-extinguishing elements, between which flow channels are formed.
Contactors with such extinguishing chambers are used, for example, in railway operation for switching loads and for interrupting circuits with high currents and high voltages. In the switching operation, i. When opening contact points, an arc is created at the contact points. Through this arc, the current flow between contacts is maintained. In addition, the arc releases a large amount of heat, which leads to the burning of the contacts and thus can reduce the life of the contactor. In addition, the entire area affected by the influence of the arc is subjected to very high thermal loads. Therefore, a quenching chamber is used, leading to a rapid collapse of the arc.
In particular, it should be prevented for AC and DC operation that electrically conductive plasma collects in the extinguishing device, resulting in unfavorable switching behavior of the contactor. Thus, the plasma is blown with the arcs through the blowing device in the direction of the extinguishing device and the plasma released via flow channels into the environment.
In the known quenching chamber, the flow channels are parallel to each other and identical, so that the exiting plasma collects in the area at the outlet openings of the flow channels, and can lead to the thermal load of the quenching chamber and possibly to risk of arc leakage from the quenching chamber.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a quenching chamber for a contactor, which has a long life and ensures increased safety.
For this purpose, the invention provides that the flow channels each have a scattering section, wherein the scattering sections of adjacent flow channels are formed differently inclined, so that the plasma occurring is deflected by the flow channels in different directions. As a result of the scattering of the exiting plasma, in particular the average temperature at the ends of the flow channels facing away from the contact region is markedly reduced, so that a plasma concentration is prevented and the thermal load is reduced.
The extinguishing device may in particular comprise one or more arc guide plates, which guide the arc of contact points in the extinguishing device when opening the contactor. Preferably, two arc guide plates are arranged, which form a V-shape. Preferably, at least one contact point is arranged with a fixed contact in the quenching chamber. The blowing device preferably generates a magnetic blowing field which blows arcs into the extinguishing device. This is preferably achieved in that the blowing device has at least one adjacent to the contact point arranged permanent magnet for generating a permanent magnetic blowing field and / or at least one adjacent to the contact point arranged coil for generating an electromagnetic blow field. The blower field can also be reinforced by magnetically conductive pole plates, which are preferably arranged in pairs parallel to each other with intermediate storage of the extinguishing device. Preferably, the contact point is also arranged between the pole plates, so that in the region around the contact point, namely the switching region substantially a homogeneous magnetic blown field is formed. The fixed contact and / or the Lichtleitleitbech are preferably arranged such that resulting arcs are aligned substantially perpendicular to the magnetic Blasfeld, so that the acting Lorenzkraft is maximized. Preferably, the flow channels are aligned substantially in the blowing direction, so that resulting plasma can be blown into the flow channels with a low resistance.
Furthermore, the quenching chamber can be integrally integrated into the contactor or formed as a removable part of the contactor.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, the flow channels extend in opposite directions. In this case, some scattering sections preferably extend at an angle inclined to the blowing direction, while other scattering sections extend at the same angle, but in an opposite direction and inclined on the same plane to the blowing direction. This arrangement is particularly advantageous when a plurality of elongated extinguishing chambers are arranged side by side, wherein the plasma exits each of the extinguishing chambers in their transverse direction. Since a plurality of juxtaposed extinguishing chambers and thus several contactors are usually not opened at the same time, the space is optimally used for cooling via the scattering sections of different extinguishing chambers.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, the extinguishing device has a plurality of arc extinguishing elements, which are arranged next to each other, so that at least one flow channel is formed between two adjacent arc extinguishing elements. Preferably, a flow channel is formed in each case between all adjacent arc-extinguishing elements. The arc-extinguishing elements may preferably be formed of ceramic, so that they can each be exposed to the outside with one of their ends. Thus, the arc extinguishing elements need not be protected to the outside by an additional electrically insulating cover, so that the cooling of the arc extinguishing elements is further improved. The flow channels may, but need not, each comprise an extinguishing section, which is arranged upstream in the blowing direction and forms part of the extinguishing device.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention and to save costs, the arc extinguishing elements are formed identically, each two successive arc extinguishing elements are mounted rotated by 180 degrees to each other, the arc extinguishing elements each at least a first air deflecting recess on a first side surface and at least a second air deflecting recess having the first side surface opposite, the second side surface. In this case, the first and the second recesses are inclined and matched to one another in such a way that the first recesses each form a scattering section with the adjacent second recesses, wherein the scattering sections in each case deflect the air differently.
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, the flow channels each have a cross-sectional change that separates the erase portion from the spreader portion. Thus, the plasma is prevented from leaving the quenching chamber at too high a rate without being cooled by the spreader portion.
According to a secondary aspect, the invention further relates to a fire extinguishing chamber for a contactor, wherein the extinguishing chamber comprises at least one contact point with a fixed contact, at least one extinguishing device, and a blowing device for generating a magnetic blow field, which blows arcs in the extinguishing device, wherein the blowing device at least one arranged adjacent to the contact point permanent magnets for generating a permanent magnetic blower field and / or at least one adjacent to the contact point arranged coil for generating an electromagnetic blower field, so that a resulting when opening the contact point arc is blown into the, at least one, extinguishing device, wherein at least two magnetically conductive pole plates with the intermediate storage of the permanent magnet and / or the coil are arranged parallel to each other, so that the blowing effect by magnetic fields for guiding the arcs in the v area is reached.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a quenching chamber, which is easily removable and at the same time against the base part of a contactor is well fastened.
The problem is solved in that at least one of the pole plates is designed as a pivotable latch, by means of which the quenching chamber in an unlocked state of a base part of a contactor is detachably and positively connected in a locked state with the base part of the contactor. Preferably, the pivotable pole plate has on the side facing the base part a hook or a projection, while the base part has a corresponding pin or a recess. In particular, the quenching chamber can have an insulating housing, wherein the pole plate is arranged outside the housing, so that the pole plate is magnetically but not electrically coupled to the current-carrying parts in the housing. Due to the size and stability of the pole plates, the strength of the lock is guaranteed without additional parts.
According to a seventh aspect of the present invention, a locking lever is eccentrically pivotally connected to the pivotable pole plate and held by a holder such that pivotal movement of the pole plate results in a translational movement of the locking lever. In this case, the pivot axis of the pole plate is spaced from the pivot axis of the locking lever, and thus provided eccentrically.
According to an eighth aspect of the present invention, the lock lever is pivotally connected at one end to the pole plate and held at the opposite, free end by the holder, which includes a movable safety latch, which in the locked state of the pole plate by a spring element into a locked position is pressed over the free end, so that the translational movement of the locking lever and thus also the pivoting movement of the pole plate is prevented by the safety lock. The holder may preferably be formed integrally on a housing half and with this. The free end is preferably the end facing away from the blowing device, so that the movable safety lock is easily accessible from the side facing away from the base part of the quenching chamber.
According to a ninth aspect of the present invention, a display element attached to the lock lever is visible in the unlocked state and is not visible in the locked state. Preferably, the free end of the locking lever is marked in accordance with color, which is covered in a locked state due to the movable safety lock and thus not visible.
According to a tenth aspect of the present invention, the pivotal movement of the pivotable pole plate in both directions is limited by a stopper surface. This will ensure that the pivotable pole plate does not undesirably come in contact with other parts during assembly or inspection.
According to an eleventh aspect of the present invention, the blowing device comprises both at least one coil having a pivotable first pole plate and at least one permanent magnet having a torsion-resistant second pole plate, wherein the first and second pole plates are separated from each other by an intermediate gap and mounted on a plane are,. Preferably, the pole plates are arranged in pairs in such a way that the coil between two pivotable pole plates and the permanent magnet between two torsion-resistant pole plates are arranged.
According to a twelfth aspect of the present invention, a stopper surface is formed by the housing of the quenching chamber.
According to another ancillary aspect of the present invention, the invention further relates to a fire extinguishing chamber for a contactor comprising at least one contact point with a fixed contact, a quenching device, and a blowing device, which blows arcs in the erasing device.
At the time of filing, there is a prejudice of the skilled artisan that mechanical contactors, in contrast to semiconductor contactors, do not require a heat dissipating heat sink. The thermal situation of mechanical contactors is usually kept in a frame by e.g. low limit powers are specified or contact plates are oversized. However, the inventors have surprisingly found that a higher effective power of a contactor can be achieved without great effort, that a heat sink is attached to the previously known quenching chamber, which is thermally conductively connected to the fixed contact. The fixed contact may in particular be sheet-shaped and thus have a large contact area in the switching area in the vicinity of the contact point. Thus, a cooling of the switching range can be achieved particularly efficient by the heat sink.
According to a fourteenth aspect of the present invention, the extinguishing chamber further comprises an electrically insulating housing, wherein the fixed contact passes through the housing and thus forms an electrical connection to which the heat sink is mounted.
According to a further independent aspect of the present invention, the invention further relates to a quenching chamber for a contactor comprising at least one contact point with a fixed contact, a quenching device with an arc guide plate, wherein an air gap is provided in the vicinity of the contact point between the arc guide plate and the fixed contact, and a Blowing device for generating a magnetic blowing field, which blows arcs in the erasing device, wherein the blowing device at least one adjacent to the contact point permanent magnet arranged to produce a permanent magnetic blowing field and / or at least one adjacent arranged to contact point coil for generating an electromagnetic blower field, so that an emerging when opening the contact point arc is blown into at least one extinguishing device, wherein a protective lining between the air gap and the permanent magnet and / or the coil is arranged and from the fixed contact to the Arc guide extends towards.
It is therefore also an object of the invention to provide a quenching chamber, wherein the protective cover is securely attached and easily replaceable.
The problem is solved in that the protective covering is arranged in the direction of the extinguishing device inserted and thus also interchangeable. In particular, the protective cover is preferably under the arc guide from below, in the direction of the extinguishing device, be inserted.
According to a sixteenth aspect of the present invention, the protective cover is attached via a groove or projection, which groove or projection extends perpendicular to the surfaces of the fixed contact. The quenching chamber may further comprise a housing which has for receiving the permanent magnet or the coil inner boundary walls which are provided perpendicular to the side walls of the housing. Preferably, the protective shroud is attached via the groove or projection to such inner boundary walls and bounded in the direction of the magnetic blowing field or in the direction of the central axis of the coil or the south-north direction of the permanent magnet through the side walls of the housing.
Preferably, ceramic, e.g. Steatite or cordierite can be used as the material for the protective cover and / or the arc extinguishing elements to allow a simple design and a good protection against arc damage.
According to a further independent aspect of the present invention, the invention also relates to a contactor for DC and / or AC operation with at least one movable contact, wherein the contactor further comprises a quenching chamber according to one of the above aspects.
According to an eighteenth aspect of the present invention, the contactor has a base part with a locking mechanism which cooperates with the pivotable pole plate, so that the quenching chamber can be locked and unlocked with the base part.
Different embodiments can be combined with each other completely or in relation to other features, and an embodiment can also be supplemented by further described features.

The
In the
