Definitions
- the present invention relates to a bridge for a ball game racket and a ball game racket with the bridge according to the invention.
- Racket frames for ball game rackets typically include a handle portion, a club head, and a heart portion disposed therebetween, the heart portion being formed by two frame spars extending from the handle portion and a bridge.
- the bridge takes over several, essential for the playing behavior of the ball game rackets functions.
- the bridge usually absorbs several longitudinal strings of the clothing and thus influences the behavior of the clothing. In particular, for geometric reasons, these are the central longitudinal strings that run through the so-called "sweet spot" and thus have a decisive influence on the player's perceived feel of the game.
- the bridge closes the club head to an annular structure, which has a decisive influence on the deformability of the club head.
- the bridge also stabilizes the two frame spars and thus affects the overall stability of the ball game racket frame.
- the invention is directed to a bridge for a ball game racket, the bridge having a central portion and two edge portions intended to be connected to the frame of a ball game racket. At least one lower web and at least two upper webs extend from the middle section on both sides to the two edge sections.
- the middle section has first passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings. At least two further passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings are arranged such that the longitudinal strings to be received by them extend in each case between the corresponding two upper webs.
- the directions “down” and “up” refer to the orientation of the bridge in the assembled state, ie, when the bridge is connected to the rest of the frame of a ball game racket, the ball game racket is oriented so that the handle portion below and the club head located at the top.
- the two lower webs are on the handle portion facing side of the bridge and the four upper webs on the head portion facing side of the bridge.
- the middle section together with the two lower webs preferably has the function of a regular bridge, wherein in particular the central section has passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings and is preferably provided for deflecting one or more longitudinal strings in the region of the central section.
- the two lower webs also each have passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings, wherein the longitudinal strings do not necessarily have to be deflected in the region of the lower webs. Rather, one or more longitudinal strings can each be passed through one of the lower webs and up to the corresponding frame members of the ball game racket frame.
- the at least four upper webs are preferably not the recording or deflection of strings, but rather the stabilization of the bridge through a connection further up the club head.
- the connection of the bridge to the racket frame by means of the four upper webs and the two lower webs on the one hand allows a good application of force acting on the bridge forces in the club head and on the other hand excellent stabilization against torsional deformation.
- the bridge is formed substantially mirror-symmetrical, wherein in the assembled state of the bridge, the string plane formed by the covering forms the associated Speigel composition.
- the bridge is designed such that the longitudinal strings to be received by the at least two second through openings each extend without contact between the corresponding two upper webs.
- the webs are preferably geometrically separate elements, which are preferably spaced from each other. It is preferred that each of the lower web between the central portion and the corresponding edge portion is connected to neither of the two upper webs. Furthermore, the two upper webs between the middle section and the corresponding edge section are preferably not connected to each other. Preferably, the distance between the two upper webs at least in sections at least 5 mm, preferably at least 10 mm and more preferably at least 15 mm, wherein the distance between two opposite outer surfaces of the webs, measured perpendicular to the clothing plane is meant. In other words, the distance between the webs corresponds to the extent of the gap between the two webs.
- the projection of the distance between in each case one of the upper webs and the lower web is at least partially at least 5 mm, preferably at least 10 mm and particularly preferably at least 15 mm, on the clothing plane formed by the clothing.
- this distance is to be understood as a distance between the opposite outer surfaces of the respective webs and thus refers to the dimensions of the gap between adjacent webs (projected on the string plane).
- a passage opening is formed in each case between the two upper webs and the lower web, which appears in a viewing direction perpendicular to the clothing plane as a passage opening.
- the visible cross-sectional area of this passage opening is preferably at least 1.5 cm 2 , more preferably at least 2 cm 2 and more preferably at least 2.5 cm 2 .
- the bridge structure makes the bridge not only lighter overall, but also acts through the through holes formed between the webs less massive and therefore provides a particularly aesthetic overall impression.
- the passage openings are also aerodynamically advantageous.
- the distance between each one of the two upper webs and the lower web from the center distance to the corresponding edge portion increases. It is further preferred that in each case the distance between the two upper webs increases from the middle section to the corresponding edge section in order to make the middle section of the bridge as narrow as possible, but on the other hand to connect the two upper webs in the region of the outer sides of the frame section forming the club head enable.
- the two edge portions of the bridge can each be formed by the outer ends of the webs, wherein the outer ends of the webs of both edge portions can be connected to each other or can be separated from each other.
- the edge portions of the bridge or these outer web ends can then be connected in any way with the rest of the frame of the ball game racket, for example by screwing, welding, gluing, etc.
- each connection tabs are provided which are suitable to connect the bridge as large as possible with a racquet frame.
- these connection straps are designed such that they allow a connection with a racket frame to be produced by means of a tubular blowing method.
- the attachment tabs each have a concave outer surface. It is further preferred that the attachment tabs have an outer surface which is preferably at least 10 cm 2 , more preferably at least 15 cm 2 and most preferably at least 20 cm 2 . Preferably, in each case at least one of the second passage openings is arranged in each case in one of the connection lugs. This makes it possible to guide a longitudinal string through a passage opening in the attachment tab and a corresponding passage opening in the corresponding frame spar of the ball game racket and, for example, to deflect a string on the frame spar.
- the attachment tabs may each have at least one, preferably two third passage openings for receiving longitudinal and / or transverse strings.
- the connection tab may have one or more further passage openings, wherein the longitudinal and / or transverse strings received by these passage openings do not have to pass between the two upper bridges.
- all webs open on one side of the bridge in a common connection tab.
- a plurality of connecting straps per side for example a connecting strap for the upper webs and a common connecting strap for the two lower webs.
- a separate connection tab could be provided for each bridge.
- this middle section is arranged centrally in the bridge and, accordingly, the longitudinal strings accommodated by the central section run through the so-called "sweet spot", the mechanical properties of this central section are essential for the playing behavior of the ball game racket.
- this middle section can be designed as a solid solid body with, for example, an approximately round, elliptical, rectangular or similar cross-sectional profile.
- the middle section is channel-shaped. This allows the production of a particularly stable bridge in lightweight construction. Furthermore, such a channel-shaped structure allows an extension of the corresponding longitudinal strings without sacrificing the stability of the bridge.
- the sides of the channel-shaped central portion may be formed as a continuous side wall or as a truss structure.
- the channel-shaped middle section also has two opposite edges, from which the webs extend to the edge sections of the bridge.
- the gutter is preferably closed at these opposite edges in each case by means of an end wall, so that the gutter has a pot-like structure with four (partially interrupted) surrounding walls.
- the bottom of the channel preferably has at least two, more preferably at least three, particularly preferably at least four passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings.
- the extension of the middle section of the bridge in a direction perpendicular to The fabric tension level is preferably less than 20 mm, more preferably less than 15 mm and particularly preferably less than 13 mm.
- the wall thickness of the continuous side wall or truss structure of the channel is, at least in sections, preferably less than 5 mm, more preferably less than 4 mm and particularly preferably less than 3 mm.
- the extension of the middle section along the racket longitudinal axis is, at least in sections, preferably greater than 10 mm, more preferably greater than 12 mm.
- the gutter-shaped central portion can also be divided by an intermediate wall into two pot-like sections.
- the upper and / or lower webs of the bridge may be relatively filigree structures, as the stability of the bridge is ensured inter alia by the presence of a plurality of spaced-apart webs.
- the cross-sectional area of the lower web and / or the upper webs is at least partially preferably less than 50 mm 2 , more preferably less than 40 mm 2 and particularly preferably less than 30 mm 2 .
- the cross-sectional area of one or more of the webs preferably increases from the middle section of the bridge to the edge section of the bridge. It is further preferred that the cross-sectional area of the lower web, at least in sections, is greater than the cross-sectional area of the upper webs.
- At least some of the through openings and preferably all through openings are designed to receive a single string in each case. Accordingly, some and preferably all through-holes preferably have a cross-sectional area of less than 5 mm 2 , more preferably less than 4 mm 2, and most preferably less than 3 mm 2 . It is further preferred that in each case at least one of the second passage openings is arranged in each case one of the lower webs. Preferably, at least one of the second passage openings, which is arranged in one of the lower webs, extends from the upper side of the lower web to the edge section or to the connection tongue of the bridge, so that a longitudinal string of the clothing is guided through the lower web and through a frame spar of the racket frame can.
- the present invention extend from the central portion of the bridge on both sides in each case two lower webs to the two edge portions.
- the longitudinal strings to be received by the second through holes each between the corresponding ones two lower webs run through.

- the present invention is further directed to a ball game racket having a racket frame having a handle portion, a club head and a heart portion disposed therebetween, the heart portion being formed by two frame spars extending from the handle and a bridge as described above.
- the ball game racket is preferably further provided with a string formed by longitudinal and transverse strings, wherein at least a first longitudinal string is passed through a through hole in the central portion of the bridge and at least one second longitudinal string through a through hole of the two lower webs of the bridge.
- the two second longitudinal strings preferably run in each case between the corresponding two upper webs of the bridge.
- the racket frame is preferably designed as a carbon fiber hollow profile and formed directly on the bridge.
- the two further second through openings do not necessarily have to be provided in the bridge (for example in the attachment tabs). Rather, the corresponding longitudinal strings can also be recorded directly from passage openings in frame members of the ball game racket. Accordingly, the present invention is also directed to a ball game racket with a racquet frame having a handle portion, a club head and a heart portion disposed therebetween, the heart portion being formed by two frame spars extending from the grip portion and a bridge.

Abstract
The invention relates to a bridge for a ball game racket and a ball game racket frame with bridge.
Description
The present invention relates to a bridge for a ball game racket and a ball game racket with the bridge according to the invention.
Racket frames for ball game rackets typically include a handle portion, a club head, and a heart portion disposed therebetween, the heart portion being formed by two frame spars extending from the handle portion and a bridge. The bridge takes over several, essential for the playing behavior of the ball game rackets functions. On the one hand, the bridge usually absorbs several longitudinal strings of the clothing and thus influences the behavior of the clothing. In particular, for geometric reasons, these are the central longitudinal strings that run through the so-called "sweet spot" and thus have a decisive influence on the player's perceived feel of the game. Furthermore, the bridge closes the club head to an annular structure, which has a decisive influence on the deformability of the club head. Furthermore, the bridge also stabilizes the two frame spars and thus affects the overall stability of the ball game racket frame.
Nevertheless, there remains a need to further optimize the bridge of a ball racket frame with respect to its mechanical requirements. This object is achieved by a bridge according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments of the bridge according to the invention (as well as the ball game racket according to the invention with the bridge according to the invention) are described in the dependent claims and in the aspects.
Accordingly, the invention is directed to a bridge for a ball game racket, the bridge having a central portion and two edge portions intended to be connected to the frame of a ball game racket. At least one lower web and at least two upper webs extend from the middle section on both sides to the two edge sections. The middle section has first passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings. At least two further passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings are arranged such that the longitudinal strings to be received by them extend in each case between the corresponding two upper webs.
The directions "down" and "up" refer to the orientation of the bridge in the assembled state, ie, when the bridge is connected to the rest of the frame of a ball game racket, the ball game racket is oriented so that the handle portion below and the club head located at the top. In other words, the two lower webs are on the handle portion facing side of the bridge and the four upper webs on the head portion facing side of the bridge.
The middle section together with the two lower webs preferably has the function of a regular bridge, wherein in particular the central section has passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings and is preferably provided for deflecting one or more longitudinal strings in the region of the central section. Preferably, the two lower webs also each have passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings, wherein the longitudinal strings do not necessarily have to be deflected in the region of the lower webs. Rather, one or more longitudinal strings can each be passed through one of the lower webs and up to the corresponding frame members of the ball game racket frame. The at least four upper webs are preferably not the recording or deflection of strings, but rather the stabilization of the bridge through a connection further up the club head. If a regular bridge were tied into a similar section of the clubhead, this would disadvantageously shorten the length of the string. At the same time, the connection of the bridge to the racket frame by means of the four upper webs and the two lower webs on the one hand allows a good application of force acting on the bridge forces in the club head and on the other hand excellent stabilization against torsional deformation. For this purpose, it is preferred that the bridge is formed substantially mirror-symmetrical, wherein in the assembled state of the bridge, the string plane formed by the covering forms the associated Speigelfläche. Preferably, the bridge is designed such that the longitudinal strings to be received by the at least two second through openings each extend without contact between the corresponding two upper webs. This ensures that the bridge is stored by the four upper webs accordingly stable on the club head, without the string length of the longitudinal strings would be adversely shortened. However, embodiments are also possible in which a damping material is provided in each case between the two upper webs. In other words, the longitudinal strings are admittedly received by the middle section and optionally the two lower webs, but the strings can indirectly, for example via a damping element, also be in contact with the four upper webs.
The webs are preferably geometrically separate elements, which are preferably spaced from each other.
It is further preferred that the projection of the distance between in each case one of the upper webs and the lower web is at least partially at least 5 mm, preferably at least 10 mm and particularly preferably at least 15 mm, on the clothing plane formed by the clothing. Also, this distance is to be understood as a distance between the opposite outer surfaces of the respective webs and thus refers to the dimensions of the gap between adjacent webs (projected on the string plane). In other words, a passage opening is formed in each case between the two upper webs and the lower web, which appears in a viewing direction perpendicular to the clothing plane as a passage opening. The visible cross-sectional area of this passage opening is preferably at least 1.5 cm 2 , more preferably at least 2 cm 2 and more preferably at least 2.5 cm 2 . The bridge structure makes the bridge not only lighter overall, but also acts through the through holes formed between the webs less massive and therefore provides a particularly aesthetic overall impression. Furthermore, the passage openings are also aerodynamically advantageous.
In order to keep the expansions of the central portion of the bridge as small as possible, but on the other hand to allow connection of the upper webs as far above the club head, it is preferred that the distance between each one of the two upper webs and the lower web from the center distance to the corresponding edge portion increases. It is further preferred that in each case the distance between the two upper webs increases from the middle section to the corresponding edge section in order to make the middle section of the bridge as narrow as possible, but on the other hand to connect the two upper webs in the region of the outer sides of the frame section forming the club head enable.
In principle, the two edge portions of the bridge can each be formed by the outer ends of the webs, wherein the outer ends of the webs of both edge portions can be connected to each other or can be separated from each other. The edge portions of the bridge or these outer web ends can then be connected in any way with the rest of the frame of the ball game racket, for example by screwing, welding, gluing, etc. It is particularly preferred, however, that at the two edge portions each connection tabs are provided which are suitable to connect the bridge as large as possible with a racquet frame. Particularly preferably, these connection straps are designed such that they allow a connection with a racket frame to be produced by means of a tubular blowing method. For this purpose, it is preferred that the attachment tabs each have a concave outer surface.
Additionally or alternatively, the attachment tabs may each have at least one, preferably two third passage openings for receiving longitudinal and / or transverse strings. In other words, the connection tab may have one or more further passage openings, wherein the longitudinal and / or transverse strings received by these passage openings do not have to pass between the two upper bridges.
Preferably, all webs open on one side of the bridge in a common connection tab. However, it is also possible to provide a plurality of connecting straps per side, for example a connecting strap for the upper webs and a common connecting strap for the two lower webs. Alternatively, a separate connection tab could be provided for each bridge.
Since the middle section is arranged centrally in the bridge and, accordingly, the longitudinal strings accommodated by the central section run through the so-called "sweet spot", the mechanical properties of this central section are essential for the playing behavior of the ball game racket. In principle, this middle section can be designed as a solid solid body with, for example, an approximately round, elliptical, rectangular or similar cross-sectional profile. However, it is preferred that the middle section is channel-shaped. This allows the production of a particularly stable bridge in lightweight construction. Furthermore, such a channel-shaped structure allows an extension of the corresponding longitudinal strings without sacrificing the stability of the bridge. The sides of the channel-shaped central portion may be formed as a continuous side wall or as a truss structure. The latter is particularly advantageous with regard to the lowest possible weight of the bridge. The channel-shaped middle section also has two opposite edges, from which the webs extend to the edge sections of the bridge. The gutter is preferably closed at these opposite edges in each case by means of an end wall, so that the gutter has a pot-like structure with four (partially interrupted) surrounding walls. The bottom of the channel preferably has at least two, more preferably at least three, particularly preferably at least four passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings.
The extension of the middle section of the bridge in a direction perpendicular to The fabric tension level is preferably less than 20 mm, more preferably less than 15 mm and particularly preferably less than 13 mm. The wall thickness of the continuous side wall or truss structure of the channel is, at least in sections, preferably less than 5 mm, more preferably less than 4 mm and particularly preferably less than 3 mm. The extension of the middle section along the racket longitudinal axis (ie from the handle section to the head section) is, at least in sections, preferably greater than 10 mm, more preferably greater than 12 mm. The gutter-shaped central portion can also be divided by an intermediate wall into two pot-like sections.
The upper and / or lower webs of the bridge may be relatively filigree structures, as the stability of the bridge is ensured inter alia by the presence of a plurality of spaced-apart webs. Thus, the cross-sectional area of the lower web and / or the upper webs is at least partially preferably less than 50 mm 2 , more preferably less than 40 mm 2 and particularly preferably less than 30 mm 2 . The cross-sectional area of one or more of the webs preferably increases from the middle section of the bridge to the edge section of the bridge. It is further preferred that the cross-sectional area of the lower web, at least in sections, is greater than the cross-sectional area of the upper webs.
At least some of the through openings and preferably all through openings are designed to receive a single string in each case.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention extend from the central portion of the bridge on both sides in each case two lower webs to the two edge portions. In this embodiment, it is preferable that the longitudinal strings to be received by the second through holes each between the corresponding ones two lower webs run through. Preferably, in this case, the second passage openings are provided in the connection tabs of the bridge.
Furthermore, the bridge according to the invention is preferably designed as a metal casting, more preferably as a metal injection molded part. In principle, different light metals, such as, for example, aluminum, aluminum alloys, titanium or titanium alloys, are suitable for this purpose. However, it is particularly preferred that the bridge is made of a magnesium alloy. For example, suitable magnesium alloys (such as SAE SiC / AZ91) can be used to produce particularly stable bridges that can be extremely light at the same time. Preferably, the total weight of the bridge according to the invention is less than 35 g, more preferably less than 30 g, and most preferably less than 25 g.
The present invention is further directed to a ball game racket having a racket frame having a handle portion, a club head and a heart portion disposed therebetween, the heart portion being formed by two frame spars extending from the handle and a bridge as described above. The ball game racket is preferably further provided with a string formed by longitudinal and transverse strings, wherein at least a first longitudinal string is passed through a through hole in the central portion of the bridge and at least one second longitudinal string through a through hole of the two lower webs of the bridge. The two second longitudinal strings preferably run in each case between the corresponding two upper webs of the bridge. The racket frame is preferably designed as a carbon fiber hollow profile and formed directly on the bridge.
According to an alternative preferred embodiment, the two further second through openings do not necessarily have to be provided in the bridge (for example in the attachment tabs). The bridge has a central portion and two edge portions which coincide with the frame of the Ball game rackets are connected. At least one lower web and at least two upper webs extend from the middle section on both sides to the two edge sections. The middle section has first passage openings for receiving longitudinal strings. Furthermore, at least two further second passage openings in the two frame members for receiving longitudinal strings are arranged such that the longitudinal strings to be received by them extend in each case between the corresponding two upper webs.
All the preferred features discussed above can also be used according to the invention in this alternative embodiment. In particular, in this embodiment it is preferred that two lower webs each extend from the middle section to the two edge sections on both sides. Preferably, the longitudinal strings to be received by the second passage openings then extend in each case also between the corresponding two lower webs.
