Abstract

L'invention concerne un espaceur (« spacer ») (1) constitué de composants individuels (2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 12) formant prothèse articulaire dans la pose de prothèses d'épaule, de genou et de hanche dans le cadre du traitement chirurgical temporaire des infections touchant l'articulation. On évite ainsi toute croissance de l'os sur l'espaceur et toute libération de produits d'usure. La mobilité du patient n'est sensiblement pas réduite et l'usure de l'espaceur est aussi limitée que possible par le fait que l'espaceur (1) est fabriqué en au moins un composant constitué d'un matériau céramique ou de plusieurs matériaux céramiques, ou en un matériau non céramique recouvert de céramique.
