Definitions
- the present invention relates to a laundry dryer comprising a filter that prevents the particles such as fiber, lint and dust etc. from accumulating in the tank. While the laundry is being dried in the laundry dryer, particles such as fiber, lint, dust, etc. break off from the laundry particularly due to mechanical effects. In conventional laundry dryers, most of these particles are collected by means of one or more than one filter disposed on the dryer, thus preventing these particles from accumulating on the heat exchanger and other components. The water, that is evaporated from over the laundry and condensed in the heat exchanger during the drying cycle, is collected in a tank disposed on the dryer. In the state of the art, use of the water collected in the tank for the cleaning of components such as the filter, the heat exchanger, etc.
- the water received from the tank removes undesired particles on the components being cleaned by it and continues its circulation.
- the water must be filtered again so that the pump used for the discharge of the water containing particles such as fiber, lint, dust, etc. is not clogged and that the water to be discharged by the pump does not cause the accumulation of particles inside the tank.
- a filter is disclosed, that is detachably mounted to the inlet of the tank wherein the condensed water is collected.
- the aim of the present invention is the realization of a laundry dryer comprising an additional filter that prevents the accumulation of particles inside the tank wherein the condensate water is collected.
- the laundry dryer realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises an additional filter that is mounted to the port of the tank and a cover that has an inlet thereon and that is mounted to the port of the tank so as to be opened/closed, thereby providing access into the additional filter.
- the cover By means of the cover, the user is enabled to directly reach and clean the additional filter.
- the laundry dryer comprises a locking member that prevents the cover from automatically opening.
- the cover is detachably mounted to the port of the tank. Upon desiring to open the cover, the user completely removes the cover from over the tank.
- the locking members are on two opposing long sides of the cover. In this case, the user can detach the cover completely from over the tank by opening the locking members.
- the cover is mounted onto the tank by means of at least hinge and thus can be changed to open and closed positions. Since the cover is fixed to the port of the tank by means of the hinge, the cover is prevented from separating from the tank.
- the locking member is disposed on the side opposite to the side whereon the hinge is located.
- a guiding member that extends into the additional filter through the inlet when the cover is closed is provided on the lower surface of the cover.
- the said guiding member is preferably in form of a bend, enabling the water passing through the inlet perpendicularly to enter the additional filter by guiding it with a 90-degree angle.
- the water passing through the inlet is prevented from splattering.
- the cover when closed, the cover does not form any protrusion on the upper surface of the tank whereto the cover is mounted. Thus, while the tank is taken out of the laundry dryer, the cover does not cause any adverse effect.

- the cover (13) is detachably mounted to the port (12) of the tank (7). When opened by the user, the cover (13) completely detaches from the tank (7).
