Claims (14)
- A security element (12, 40) for securing objects of value (10), having a carrier (20), a metallization (22, 46) arranged above the carrier with first recesses (24) in the shape of patterns, characters or a coding, and a color-shifting thin-film element (30) arranged above the metallization (22, 46) and having second recesses (38) in the shape of patterns, characters or a coding, in which the metallization (22, 46) is visible at least partly, characterized in that the thin-film element (30) has a reflective layer (36) arranged above the metallization (22, 46), a dielectric spacer layer (34) arranged above the reflective layer (36) and an absorber layer (32) arranged above the dielectric spacer layer (34).
- The security element according to claim 1, characterized in that the first (24) and the second recesses (38) represent mutually complementing or mutually related information items.
- The security element according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the security element is transparent or translucent in the regions of the first recesses (24).
- The security element according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the metallization (22, 46) is formed by an opaque or a semi-transparent metal layer, preferably by an opaque or a semi-transparent aluminum layer.
- The security element according to at least one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the metallization (22, 46) and the reflective layer (36) of the thin-film element (30) are formed of the same material, preferably of aluminum.
- The security element according to at least one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that between the carrier (20) and the metallization (22, 46) an embossing lacquer layer (42) with an embossed relief structure (44) is arranged, wherein the relief structure (44) represents in particular a diffractive structure, such as a hologram, a holographic grating image or a hologram-like diffractive structure, an achromatic structure, such as a matte structure, a micro-mirror arrangement, a blaze grating with a sawtooth-type groove profile or a Fresnel lens arrangement.

- A method for manufacturing a security element (12, 40) according to any of claims 1 to 8, wherein on a carrier (20), possibly above one or several intermediate layers, a metallization (22, 46) having first recesses (24) in the shape of patterns, characters or a coding is applied, and wherein above the metallization (22, 46) a color-shifting thin-film element (30) having second recesses (38) in the shape of patterns, characters or a coding is applied, so that in the second recesses (38) the metallization (22, 46) is visible at least partly.
- The method according to claim 9, characterized in that for manufacturing the first recesses (24) a soluble washing ink is imprinted in the shape of the desired first recesses (24), and that the washing ink is washed off after the application of the metallization (22, 46) and of the thin-film element (30) together with these by a solvent.
- The method according to claim 9 or 10, characterized in that for producing the second recesses (38) a soluble washing ink is imprinted in the shape of the desired second recesses (38), and that the washing ink is washed off after the application of the thin-film element (30) together with the same by a solvent.
