Definitions
- the invention is based on a method for monitoring and diagnosing components of a rail vehicle as a singular rail vehicle or as a component of a rail vehicle train consisting of several rail vehicles with regard to an if necessary repair or maintenance of at least one of its components, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the invention also relates a system for monitoring and diagnosing components of a rail vehicle as a singular rail vehicle or as part of a rail vehicle train consisting of several rail vehicles with regard to an if necessary repair or maintenance of at least one of its components.
- Such a method or such a system are, for example, off DE 102 33 845 B4 or off DE 10 2013 201 494 A1 known.
- WO 01/23238 A1 discloses a method for transferring files between an on-board computer of a rail vehicle and a remotely arranged base, with these updates being transmitted to the computer in the event that updates are to be transmitted to the rail vehicle.
- US 2013/0342362 A1 discloses a system for monitoring the operation of a rail vehicle which is provided with a plurality of sensor devices and a communication unit which wirelessly transmits data detected by the sensor devices to a base station.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object of developing a method and a system of the type mentioned at the beginning in such a way that it can be used more flexibly. A corresponding system should also be made available. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of claim 1 and claim 17, respectively.
- the evaluation software has a modular structure, with individual software modules being added, deleted or exchanged as required. Furthermore, it is provided according to the invention that such a software module is assigned to one component to be monitored or diagnosed with regard to repair or maintenance.
- the structure of the modularity of the evaluation software maps the structure of the components to be monitored or diagnosed in the rail vehicle or in the train of rail vehicles. Then each software module is adapted to the respectively assigned component.
- the in the evaluation device implemented evaluation software is supplemented, expanded, changed or adapted by means of software modules sent from the control center to the evaluation device.
- the evaluation device and the control center are designed so that this is possible, namely in that the structure of the evaluation software is modular so that it can be supplemented or changed at any time with new software modules or by replacing or deleting software modules.
- a control center should not only be understood to mean a stationary control center which, for example, is housed in an office in the form of a data processing device. Rather, this term also encompasses a mobile or portable control center that is brought up to the rail vehicle or train and connected to the interfaces provided for wired data transmission or brought to a suitable distance for wireless data transmission.
- the addition, expansion, change or adaptation of the evaluation software implemented in the evaluation device takes place as required, i.e. when necessary or when deemed necessary by the control center staff.
- the advantages of these measures are that the evaluation algorithms or the evaluation software can be supplemented, changed or adapted on board during ongoing operation of the rail vehicle or train, without having to interrupt operation or use.
- This addition change or adaptation of the evaluation software takes place without any retroactive effects, whereby the intended operation or the operational safety of the rail vehicle or train is not impaired.
- the method can be changed inexpensively and easily (accessibility) or that additional functions can be added on the rail vehicle side (modular and scalable) without affecting operation or safety-relevant functions.
- CBM Condition Based Maintenance
- environmental data e.g. ambient temperature, humidity, route data
- CBM Condition Based Maintenance
- Such a system creates the technical Requirements for enabling condition-based maintenance. This makes networking of the individual systems on the rail vehicle (subsystems, components, vehicle control technology) necessary as well as a continuous, dynamic adaptation of the methods for determining wear reserves and the maintenance requirements derived therefrom, which is realized by the invention.
- Such a CBM system provides information for operational maintenance in the form of notification (s) that give recommendations on the optimal maintenance time.
- Such a CBM system includes at least one evaluation device on the rail vehicle / train (onboard unit) and a control center (back office) on the route, with maintenance prognoses based on the operational and environmental data available in the form of the messages sent by the evaluation device to the control center generated automatically.
- the evaluation software or CBM logic contains a corresponding decision logic for recommending the optimal maintenance times.
- the CBM logic integrated in the evaluation device therefore delivers results from a combination of economic and technical parameters with regard to an optimal point in time for carrying out maintenance measures.
- the wear reserve of the relevant component or the relevant subsystem of the rail vehicle / rail vehicle train is determined using the evaluation software and the maintenance requirement of the relevant component or the relevant subsystem is determined from this.
- the message transmitted to the control center contains, for example, information about when maintenance should be scheduled.
- An onboard unit with which the various evaluation devices (intelligent subsystems) assigned to the respective components communicate, then forms, for example, an interface between the evaluation devices and the route or trackside control center.
- the evaluation software is particularly preferably of modular design, with individual software modules being supplemented, deleted or exchanged as required.
- a software module is assigned to one component to be monitored or diagnosed with regard to repair or maintenance.
- the structure of the modularity of the evaluation software preferably maps the structure of the components to be monitored or diagnosed in the rail vehicle or in the rail vehicle train. Then each software module is adapted to the respectively assigned component.
- the evaluation software implemented in the evaluation device can be supplemented, changed or adapted by wireless communication with the control center.
- wireless communication can take place, for example, via a radio link between a transmitting / receiving device installed on the rail vehicle / train and a transmitting / receiving device installed in the control center, but also via WLAN in the depot.
- this can also be done by means of a route connection in the track bed.
- the message sent by the rail vehicle / rail vehicle train to the control center preferably also uses this route.
- the message delivered to the control center preferably contains an identification of the component concerned.
- the message preferably also contains information about a still-present stock of at least one wear-affected component of the rail vehicle or of the rail vehicle train. In this way, it is possible to predict the achievement of a predetermined wear limit in terms of time or on the basis of the number of possible or permissible usage cycles of the relevant component.
- the message therefore preferably contains a forecast of the remaining time or the number of use cycles still available until maintenance or repair of the component concerned is necessary.
- the message can also contain information about the cause of a fault or fault in the component that may have occurred.
- the evaluation software or the measuring device is designed and the measured variable is also suitable so that such information can be supplied.
- the message can also identify the rail vehicle affected by a required maintenance or repair.
- the message particularly preferably contains different levels of urgency with regard to a required maintenance or repair of the component.
- Such an urgency level can represent, for example, a long-term, short-term or immediate requirement for a maintenance or repair measure for the relevant component.
- the message can also contain the current location of the rail vehicle or the rail vehicle train.
- the message is particularly preferably output in the control center in visual form.
- the instructions, data and / or software modules sent by the control center to the evaluation device also contain instructions, data and / or software modules which relate to the intended function of the component.
- the evaluation software not only is the evaluation software supplemented, changed or adapted, but also the software through which the relevant component is controlled or regulated with regard to its intended function.
- an onboard central unit is provided on the rail vehicle or on the rail vehicle train, which unit communicates with the evaluation devices of several components and delivers the message (s) to the control center.
- the evaluation device or the evaluation devices evaluate further measured variables which are not related to the relevant or assigned component, the further measured variables relating to the environment or the route traveled by the rail vehicle or train.
- the components monitored with regard to their maintenance or repair needs are preferably at least one of the following components: bogie equipment, air conditioning, air supply system, power supply system, sand system, door opening and closing system, windscreen wiper device, friction-based braking system, regenerative braking system (electrodynamic brake), magnetic rail brake, toilets, brake control, but this list is not exhaustive.
- Fig.1 shows a schematic structure of a system for monitoring and diagnosing components 2, 4 of a rail vehicle 1 with regard to a necessary repair or maintenance of the components 2, 4 according to a preferred embodiment.
- the rail vehicle 1 is, for example, a single rail vehicle or a rail vehicle of a train of rail vehicles consisting of several rail vehicles.
- the in Fig.1 The rail vehicle 1 shown, for example, two components or subsystems 2, 4 are diagnosed or monitored with regard to a repair or maintenance that is required as required, for example a friction-based electro-pneumatic brake 1 in a bogie of the rail vehicle 1 and a sanding device 2, 4.
- Each component or subsystem 2, 4 is assigned at least one measuring device 6, 8 in the form of a sensor, which detects a measured variable relevant for predictive maintenance or repair of the relevant component 2, 4.
- a measured variable is, for example, the temperature and / or the lining thickness of the brake linings or the brake disc of the disc brake.
- the lining thickness can be detected, for example, by electrical loops integrated in the brake linings, which are destroyed when the brake linings wear down to the level of the lining in which these loops are arranged and then generate a corresponding electrical signal.
- the measured variable consists, for example, in a measured level of the sandpit or in a measured flow rate of a sand pipe.
- two electronic evaluation devices 10, 12 with at least one microprocessor are then preferably arranged, namely a first evaluation device 10 for evaluating the measured variable relating to the friction-based electro-pneumatic brake and a second evaluation device 12 for evaluating those relating to the sanding device 2, 4 Measurand.
- evaluation software implemented in each case then evaluates the recorded measured variable with regard to repair or maintenance of the relevant component that is required immediately or in the future.
- the evaluation software is adapted to the specific evaluation of the respective measured variable.
- the evaluation device 10, 12 In the event that the evaluation software, based on the respective measured variable, considers repair or maintenance of the relevant component 2, 4 to take place immediately or in the future as necessary, the evaluation device 10, 12 generates a corresponding message 14, 16.
- a separate message 14, 16 is therefore preferably generated by the relevant evaluation device 10, 12 for each monitored component or for each monitored subsystem 2, 4, here then a first message 14 and a second message 16.
- the two reports 14, 16 are then transmitted by the two evaluation devices 10, 12 to a central unit 18 on the rail vehicle 1.
- Rail vehicle 1 is preferably provided with such a central unit 18 on board.
- the central unit 18 represents an electronic device with at least one microprocessor.
- the central unit 18 is connected on the one hand to a vehicle data bus 20 of the rail vehicle 1 and, for example, wirelessly connected to a device 26, preferably wirelessly, which provides environmental data of the rail vehicle 1 such as the ambient temperature and route data such as a gradient Detects and / or stores a gradient or a curve radius and delivers it to the central unit 18.
- the messages 14, 16 generated by the evaluation devices 10, 12 or evaluation software can then be supplemented or corrected in the central unit 18 with such data.
- Such a message 14, 16 preferably contains, on the one hand, an identification and / or localization of the affected component 2, 4, here for example a disk brake on the first axle on the second bogie of the rail vehicle 1.
- the message 14, 16 also identify the rail vehicle 1 affected by a required maintenance or repair.
- a message 14, 16 preferably also contains information about a still-present stock of wear on the brake disc or the brake linings. This means that it is possible to forecast the time when a specified wear limit will be reached.
- a message therefore preferably also includes a prognosis about the remaining time or about the number of usage cycles that are still available until maintenance or repair of the relevant component 2, 4 is necessary.
- a message 14, 16 particularly preferably contains different levels of urgency with regard to a required maintenance or repair of the component 2, 4.
- Such an urgency level can represent, for example, a long-term, short-term or immediate requirement of a maintenance or repair measure for the relevant component 2, 4.
- An example of four possible levels of urgency No. 0 to No. 4 is in Fig. 4 illustrated.
- no message is generated if the evaluation of the relevant measured variable comes to the result that no action is required (urgency level no. 0).
- An urgency level no. 1 listed in message 14, 16 may require longer-term maintenance or repairs, while the relevant period for urgency level no. 2 is shorter.
- a very short-term repair or maintenance of a component 2, 4 can be indicated by an urgency level no. 3 in the message.
- An urgency level no.4 means the need for immediate action, an immediate repair or maintenance, including with immediate decommissioning of the rail vehicle 1.
- the messages 14, 16 are then transmitted by means of a transmitting / receiving device integrated in the central unit 18, for example wirelessly within the framework of e.g. a cloud computing to a server 22 in a control center 28, which also has a suitable transmitting / receiving device. There the messages 14, 16 are then output on a display device 24, preferably in visual form.
- the server 22 can preferably also wirelessly receive the data from the device 26, which records measured variables of the environment or route data.
- This preferably wireless transfer can either take place as soon as a wireless radio connection is or can be established or via WLAN in the depot. Alternatively, communication can also take place via a route connection in the track bed.
- the central unit 18 has GPS, for example, so that the message 14, 16 can also contain the current location of the rail vehicle 1 or the train of rail vehicles.
- FIG. 2 components and subsystems (in Fig. 2 : SS1 to SS3) of rail vehicles of a whole fleet of several rail vehicles (in Fig. 2 : Consist 1, Consist 2) existing rail vehicle trains are diagnosed or monitored with regard to any repair or maintenance that may be required, with each of these rail vehicles (in Fig. 2 : Consist 1, Consist 2) has a central unit 18 (OBM, Onboard Unit) described above, which then sends the messages 14, 16 to the server unit 22 in the command center. From the server 22 of the From the control center 28, the messages 6, 8 can then also be made accessible to an end user such as the fleet operator and maintenance engineer, the vehicle manufacturer and / or the service provider via the Internet or other data networks.
- OBM Onboard Unit
- Fig. 3 is, as in the embodiment of Fig.1
- Each component 2, 4 to be monitored is assigned its own measuring device 6, 8 and its own evaluation device 10, 12 including integrated evaluation software, the evaluation devices 10, 12 here being connected to the vehicle data bus 20 in order to read the messages generated by them via the vehicle data bus 20 14, 16 to be sent to the central unit 18 of the rail vehicle 1.
- the evaluation devices 10, 12 here being connected to the vehicle data bus 20 in order to read the messages generated by them via the vehicle data bus 20 14, 16 to be sent to the central unit 18 of the rail vehicle 1.
- only one evaluation device could be provided for several components or subsystems, in which case the evaluation software is designed so that it can process the measured variables of several measuring devices and generate several messages.
- a flow chart of a preferred embodiment of a method for monitoring and diagnosing components of a rail vehicle according to a preferred embodiment is shown. Accordingly, in a first step, a measured variable relevant for a prognosis of a necessary repair or maintenance of the component is recorded by means of a sensor system or measuring device and processed or evaluated in the evaluation software. If the recorded and processed metrics do not meet the CBM rules, they are adapted to meet the CBM rules. Then the recorded and processed measured variables, which may be adapted to the CBM rules, are categorized with regard to their urgency level (level) and the evaluation software is designed accordingly. This in Fig. 5 Boxes indicated by dash-dotted lines mark the scope of the evaluation software or CBM logic as it is integrated into the evaluation device concerned.
- the report is then generated by the evaluation software or CBM logic and transmitted to the central unit 18 for forwarding to the control center 28.
- Fig. 6 the evaluation software or CBM logic implemented in an evaluation device or in several evaluation devices is symbolically represented as a box that is open at the top and in which individual software modules Appl.1 to Appl.5 are received.
- a software module is preferably one in each case assigned to a required repair or maintenance component to be monitored or diagnosed.
- the software module Appl.1 is assigned to the doors, the software module Appl.2 to the brakes, the software module Appl.3 to the sanding device and the software module Appl.1 to the air supply.
- the structure of the evaluation software or CBM logic is therefore preferably modular, the evaluation software being designed so that it can be supplemented by individual software modules.

Description

Fig.4 veranschaulicht.
- In
- In
