- A lock for a door or window comprising a housing (1), locking elements (4) that can be actuated by means of a locking mechanism (2) via a push rod (3), and a spring-loaded catch (5), which can be brought into a retracted position via a handle disposed on a tumbler (6), the tumbler (6) being blocked in its neutral position by the push rod (3) when the locking elements (4) are in a locked position, the tumbler (6) having on its periphery a substantially circular segment-shaped recess, by virtue of which a flat stop face (7) is formed, which engages against a corresponding control face (8) of the push rod (3) in the locked condition of the lock.
- A lock according to Claim 1, characterised in that the flat stop face (7) runs parallel to the longitudinal axis of the push rod (3) in the neutral position of the tumbler (6), and that the control face (8) on the push rod (3) is formed by a face portion of the push rod directed away from the faceplate of the lock.
- A lock according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the tumbler (6) serves, in the blocked position, as a return action safety device for the catch (5).
- A lock according to any of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the flat stop face (7) on the tumbler has, at its lower end, an extension portion, which is formed integrally on the tumbler and extends substantially in the same direction as the flat stop face (7).
