Claims (14)

  1. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff, wobei das Filterelement (10) aufweist:
    eine erste Filterstufe (20), die mindestens einen Großteil eines offenen Zentralvolumens umgibt;
    eine zweite Filterstufe (52), die innerhalb der ersten Stufe (20) angeordnet ist und mindestens einen Teil des offenen Zentralvolumens umgibt, und
    mindestens eine hydrophobe Filterstufe (72, 74), die stromabwärts der ersten Stufe (20) angeordnet ist; wobei die zweite Filterstufe (52) Koaleszenzfiltermedien umfasst, die konfiguriert sind, um Wasser aus einem durch das Medium hindurchtretenden Kraftstoffstrom zu koaleszieren, wobei die Koaleszenzfiltermedien ein koaleszierendes, nicht gewebtes, hydrophiles Fasermaterial umfassen;
    wobei die erste Filterstufe (20) einen ersten Medienabschnitt aus radial gefalteten Medien (22) und einen zweiten Medienabschnitt aus nicht gefalteten Medien (24) umfasst.
  2. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 1, weiter aufweisend einen Strömungsleiter (50, 54) in Fluidverbindung mit der zweiten Filterstufe (52), wobei der Strömungsleiter (50, 54) konfiguriert ist, um Fluidfluss in Richtung des Umfangs des Filterelements (10) zu lenken, nach dem es durch die zweite Filterstufe (52) hindurchgetreten ist.
  3. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 2, wobei der Strömungsleiter (50, 54) im Wesentlichen außerhalb eines durch die zweite Filterstufe (52) gebildeten Radius positioniert ist.
  4. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 2, wobei der Strömungsleiter (50, 54) innerhalb der ersten Filterstufe (20) positioniert ist.
  5. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 2, wobei der Strömungsleiter (50, 54) konfiguriert ist, um Fluid von der zweiten Filterstufe (52) zu der hydrophoben Filterstufe (72, 74) zu leiten.
  6. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 1, wobei die hydrophobe Filterstufe (72, 74) ein hydrophobes Maschenmaterial aufweist, und derart konstruiert und angeordnet ist, dass der stromaufwärtige Fluidfluss an der hydrophoben Masche im Wesentlichen tangential zu der Masche ist.
  7. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 1, wobei die hydrophobe Filterstufe (72, 74) hydrophobe Medien aufweist, die im Wesentlichen entlang einer Ebene parallel zu der zentralen Achse des Filterelements (10) angeordnet sind.
  8. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 1, wobei sich die hydrophobe Filterstufe (72, 74) über einen Bereich von 5 bis nicht mehr als 180 Grad eines Gesamtwinkels um das Zentralvolumen erstreckt.
  9. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 1, wobei sich die hydrophobe Filterstufe (72, 74) entlang weniger als die volle axiale Länge der zweiten Stufe (52) erstreckt.
  10. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 1, wobei die hydrophobe Filterstufe (72, 74) eine sich in einer radialen Richtung erstreckende Fluidflussoberfläche aufweist.
  11. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 1, wobei mindestens ein Abschnitt der hydrophoben Filterstufe (72, 74) zwischen einem äußeren Durchmesser und einem inneren Durchmesser der ersten Stufe (20) angeordnet ist.
  12. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 1, weiterhin einen Rotationsausrichtungsvorsprung aufweisend, der sich von einer Grundplatte (340, 440) erstreckt.
  13. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 12, wobei der Rotationsausrichtungsvorsprung ein Dichtelement aufweist.
  14. Filterelement (10) zur Filtration von Kraftstoff nach Anspruch 1, weiterhin eine Grundplatte (340, 440) mit einem Dichtelement aufweisend.
