Dans les documents EP1396207A1 et EP1516554B1, l'unité de traitement portable comprend des moyens d'aspiration de la vapeur agencés sur ladite seconde surface pour évacuer la vapeur projetée depuis ladite première surface après être passée au travers de la mèche de cheveux. Dans les documents EP1515628B1 et EP1515629B1, dans une variante de réalisation, les moyens de projection de vapeur sont configurés pour projeter la vapeur depuis les deux surfaces disposées en vis-à-vis lors du pincement. Dans le document FR2967017A1, demande de brevet déposée par la demanderesse, la conception optimisée des moyens de vaporisation permet un débit de vapeur de l'ordre de 3 à 4 g/min, plus important que les autres conceptions d'appareil de coiffure qui offrent un débit de vapeur inférieur à 2 g/min, ce qui permet de fournir une vapeur homogène sur toute la largeur de la mèche de cheveux pincée durant le traitement par vapeur et, permet de traiter rapidement par vapeur ladite mèche de cheveux lors du déplacement de l'unité de traitement portable le long de cette mèche de cheveux.
