In alternativen Ausführungsvarianten sind andere Profilformen der Sperrelemente 5 wie beispielsweise Kantprofile oder elliptische Profile denkbar.
Die Spannvorrichtungen 4 werden mit den freiliegenden Stirnflächen der Grundprofilsegmente 2 verbunden und dort wie in Figur 2 in einer bevorzugten Ausführungsvariante dargestellt beispielsweise mit Gewindemuttern gespannt.
Die Sperrelemente 5 können an der Position von einander zugewandten Stirnflächen aufeinanderfolgender Grundprofilsegmente 2 eingesetzt werden, wodurch die Verbindung der Grundprofilsegmente 2 zusätzlich gegenüber Querbelastungen versteift wird.
