- A method in accordance with claim 13 or claim 14,
characterized in that
the holder (20, 20', 20") holds the rear end of the product (10, 10', 10") until the product (10) is sliced up to an end piece (34);
in that the holder (20, 20', 20") is pivoted and/or displaced relative to an axis (S) which is perpendicular to the feed direction (Z);
in that the holder (20, 20', 20") dispenses the end piece (34);
or in that the holder (20, 20', 20") first dispenses the end piece (34) and is then pivoted and/or displaced relative to an axis (S) which is perpendicular to the feed direction (Z);
in that the product mount (18, 18', 18") and/or the holder (20, 20', 20") is/are adjusted in parallel to and against the feed direction (Z); and
in that the holder (20, 20', 20") holds a rear end of a following product (10').
