Definitions

  • Cartridges are electrical heaters in which the electrical heating element, e.g. can be realized by a resistance wire wound on a carrier or by a wound resistance wire, are arranged inside a metal jacket tube, which protects the electrical heating element from environmental influences.
  • the heat transport from the electrical heating element to the metal jacket can be provided, for example, by a good heat-conducting filler material, at least provided between the electrical heating element and the metal jacket tube, which is also electrically insulating, at least in the case of using resistance wires, such as e.g. Magnesium oxide or micanite plates can be guaranteed.
  • the jacket tube For a large number of applications, it is desirable for the jacket tube to be grounded by connecting it to a protective earth via a protective conductor.
  • the connection is made in particular by welding or soldering the protective conductor to the metal jacket tube.
  • the protective conductor is sometimes clamped onto the sheathed tube, but this also only enables fault-prone and relatively reliable electrical contacting.
  • a heating cartridge with a jacket tube made of metal and an electrical heating element is known that is arranged inside the jacket tube made of metal, in which there is a connecting lug connected to the jacket tube made of metal.
  • JP S55 33443 From the JP S55 33443 is also known a heating cartridge with a jacket tube made of metal and an electrical heating element which is arranged inside the jacket tube made of metal, which has on the opposite side of its connections a metal tongue with a hole passing through it.
  • a heating cartridge with the features of protection claim 1.
  • An advantageous development of the invention is the subject of the dependent claim.
  • the heating cartridge according to the invention like also known heating cartridges, has a jacket tube made of metal and an electrical heating element which is arranged inside the jacket tube made of metal.
  • the electric heating element can e.g. can be realized as a resistance wire wound on a carrier or as a wound resistance wire, a filler material preferably producing the heat-conducting contact between the electrical heating element and the jacket tube.
  • the term “jacket tube” does not mean that it is restricted to a tube with a circular cross section, so that the jacket tube can also have a different cross section, in particular an oval, polygonal or flat cross section.
  • connection lug can be arranged at one end of the casing tube.
  • it can have at least one section that projects beyond the edge of the metal jacket tube
  • connection lug can have at least one section in which it is formed by a section of the edge region of the metal jacket tube that through the tube wall of the casing pipe recesses is separated from a circumferentially adjacent section of the casing pipe made of metal and from a section adjacent to the circumferential direction of the casing pipe made of metal.
  • the section adjacent in the circumferential direction and the section adjacent against the circumferential direction can be directly connected to one another, that is to say they can merge into one another or be understood as a single section.
  • connection lug is not arranged at the edge but in the middle in a section of the wall surface of the metal casing tube. This can be achieved by punching out the connection lug from the wall surface or cutting it out, for example with a laser. The connecting lug can then be bent so that it is at an angle to the wall surface of the tubular casing.
  • a further possibility of realizing a connecting lugs arranged centrally in a section of the wall surface of the casing tube made of metal and at an angle thereto is to form the connection lug in one piece on the wall of the casing tube.
  • the connecting lug thus provides a structure which is connected in one piece to the jacket tube and with which a conductor, for example the protective conductor to the protective earth, can be connected in a simpler manner than to the otherwise unstructured jacket tube.
  • This connection can be achieved, for example, by crimping, riveting or screwing, but it is particularly advantageous if the connection lug is designed at least in its connection-side end section as a flat plug or round plug.
  • connection in particular when designing the connection as a flat or round plug, the electrical connection to be made and thus a potential source of error are saved by the connecting lug which is made in one piece with the tubular casing.
  • Figure 1 shows a heating cartridge 10 with a jacket tube 11 made of metal and an electrical heating element which is arranged inside the jacket tube 11 made of metal, which is why only the electrical supply lines 12, 13 leading into the interior of the jacket tube 11 made of metal are visible.
  • a connecting lug 14 which is integrally connected to the casing pipe 11 made of metal.
  • connection lug 14 has a section 14a which projects beyond the edge 11a of the metal casing tube 11. Furthermore, the connecting lug 14 has a section 14b, in which it is formed by a section of the edge region 11b of the jacket tube 11 made of metal, the recesses 15a, 15b penetrating through the tube wall of the jacket tube 11 made of metal from a section 11c of the jacket tube adjacent in the circumferential direction 11 made of metal and is separated from a section 11d of the jacket tube 11 made of metal, which section is adjacent to the circumferential direction.
  • Figure 2 shows the heating cartridge Figure 1 with a protective conductor 16 connected to the connecting lug 14, which establishes the connection to the protective earth.
  • the connection between terminal lug 14 and protective conductor 16 is established in this example by a crimped crimp sleeve 17. This crimp connection can be produced much more reliably than a crimp connection to the casing tube 11 made of metal itself, in particular because of the greater similarity of the dimensions of the connecting lug 14 and protective conductor 16.
  • FIG. 3 shows a heating cartridge 20 with a jacket tube 21 made of metal and an electrical heating element which is arranged inside the jacket tube 21 made of metal, which is why only the electrical supply lines 22, 23 leading into the interior of the jacket tube 21 made of metal are visible.
  • a connecting lug 24 which is integrally connected to the metal casing pipe 21.
  • connection lug 24 has a section 24a which protrudes beyond the edge 21a of the tubular casing 21 made of metal. Further
  • the connecting lug 24 has a section 24b in which it is formed by a section of the edge region 21b of the jacket tube 21 made of metal, which has recesses 25a, 25b penetrating through the tube wall of the jacket tube 21 made of metal from a section 21c of the jacket tube 21 which is adjacent in the circumferential direction made of metal and is separated from a section 21d of the jacket tube 21 made of metal which is adjacent to the circumferential direction.
  • the connection lug 24 is designed as a male part of a flat plug connection.
  • a protective conductor 26 is also shown, which has a female tab 27 at its end facing the heating cartridge 20.
  • the connection to the protective earth can thus be established simply and securely by pushing the flat plug 27 onto the connecting lug 24 designed as a male part of the flat plug connection.
  • the metal is made T-shaped over the edge of the tube wall of the jacket tube and then shaped.
  • Figure 4 shows another, but not part of the invention heating cartridge 30 for low voltage or protective voltage with a jacket tube 31 made of metal and an electrical heating element 32 which is arranged within the jacket tube 31 made of metal, which is why it is shown in dashed lines.
  • the electrical heating element 32 is connected at its one end 32a to an electrical supply line 33 leading into the interior of the jacket tube 31 made of metal, the section of which extending in the interior of the jacket tube 31 made of metal is also shown in dashed lines.
  • This connection can be made, for example, by welding, crimping or pressing.
  • the other end 32b of the electrical heating element 32 is electrically connected to the metal casing 31, e.g. also welded, crimped or pressed.
  • the jacket tube 31 made of metal thus serves as a return conductor in the heating cartridge 30.
  • connection lug 34 which is integrally formed on the metal casing pipe 31 and is formed by a material section which projects beyond the edge 31a of the metal casing pipe 31.
  • connection lug 34 could also be defined by cutting two grooves, each penetrating the wall of the metal casing tube and extending from the edge of the metal casing tube, so that the connection lug had no section projecting beyond the edge of the metal casing tube.
  • FIG 4 Also shown is a second supply conductor 36, which has a female tab 37 on its end facing the heating cartridge 30.
  • the heating cartridge 20 shown can thus also be made in the heating cartridge 30 easily and securely to the second supply conductor 36 by pushing the flat plug 37 onto the connecting lug 34 designed as a male part of the flat plug connection.
  • FIG. 5 shows a further embodiment of a heating cartridge 40 with a jacket tube 41 made of metal and an electrical heating element which is arranged within the jacket tube 41 made of metal, which is why only its electrical supply lines leading into the interior of the jacket tube 41 made of metal 42,43 are visible.
  • the heating cartridge 40 differs from the heating cartridges 10, 20, 30 with regard to the design of the jacket tube 41 made of metal, in particular its flat, oval cross section, which is to be illustrated by way of example that the exact cross-sectional shape of the jacket tube 41 made of metal is not important .
  • the heating cartridge 40 differs from the heating cartridges 10, 20, 30 in that it has a metal connecting lug 44, which is arranged centrally in a section of the wall surface of the tubular casing 41 and has an angle> 0 °, namely approximately in the example shown is at a right angle to the wall surface of the tubular casing 41 made of metal.
  • connection lug 44 thus protrudes from the wall surface of the metal casing tube 41.
  • the connection lug 44 is designed as a male part of a flat plug connection.
  • a protective conductor 46 is also shown, which has a female tab 47 on its end facing the heating cartridge 40.
  • connection to the protective earth can thus also be established simply and securely by pushing the flat plug 47 onto the connecting lug 44 designed as a male part of the flat plug connection.
